Incredibly Glam Caramel Room Wedding

May 29, 2022 | justine

Gilded details, show-stopping florals, sparkling decor, and elegant outfits—Zach and Cherelle’s Caramel Room wedding was dripping with luxury. With the help of their planner Wink Design and Events, they transformed the ballroom to suit their vision, with every detail screaming glamour.

The dramatic florals by An Affair To Remember were the star of the show at this extravagant wedding. The couple said their “I do’s” under a unique arch with lush wrap-around blooms. The opulent feeling was further achieved at their reception—from the canopies of cascading florals to the towering centerpieces paired with crystal chandeliers and glittering candlelight.

And, of course, a glamorous event like this calls for stylish attire. The couple was dressed to the nines for their fabulous big day, with the bride in a sophisticated lace applique trumpet wedding dress that complemented the groom’s black and white tuxedo perfectly. If luxe vibes are what you’re going for at your wedding, you’ll fall in love with these beautiful images by Elizabeth Lloyd.

Saying Their Vows To Each Other Was The Most Memorable Moment

We had been together for over nine years before getting married. It brought us great joy to finally verbalize our vows and to confess our love and commitment to each other. It felt amazing!

A Packed Dance Floor Was The Highlight Of Their Reception

There were so many memorable moments, but we definitely would say all the dancing we did with each other and with our friends and families was the highlight of our reception. We danced and enjoyed ourselves so much that we still dance to our wedding video when it comes on.

No two weddings are alike, but there are many similarities when it comes to the planning process. Regardless of your wedding size, budget, or destination we’ve rounded up the best practices you’ll want to follow when planning your big day. From hiring your dream vendors down to the last minute details, we’ve got you covered every step of the way. Whether you’re planning your wedding in two months or twelve months, we’ve created this step-by-step wedding planning guide to help you organize your thoughts. Use our guide to make sure you don’t miss any details or steps.

1. Determine What’s Most Important

You’re engaged, you just followed a bunch of wedding vendors on Instagram, and…now what? After shouting your engagement from the rooftops and celebrating with those that matter most, take a deep breath. You have a long wedding planning road ahead of you.

We’ve seen many couples rush into making decisions that haunt them later on. To ensure this doesn’t happen to you, kickstart your planning process by compiling a list of things that are most important to you and your significant other. These priorities will have a large influence on the rest of your pre-wedding decisions. Then, create a mood board that’ll help communicate your dreams and vision to potential wedding vendors. Next, get started on your wedding website with Lovebird, an innovative platform streamlining wedding guest communication from save the dates, to digital wedding invitations, to RSVPs and more.

2. Evaluate Your Budget

You might be wondering why we didn’t start with money talk. That’s because we want to ensure that all of your large wedding choices aren’t solely based on your budget. Dream your wildest dreams, then figure out how to make it happen or where to scale back around the elements you’ve already prioritized.

We often hear that couples don’t know how to get started creating a wedding budget. If this sounds like you, check out our guide for creating your perfect wedding budget.

Must-read blog posts for budgeting:

3. Assemble A Rockstar Vendor Team

Now we’re getting to the fun part—assembling your dream team of vendors. Again, we know it’s exciting to follow all the vendors your heart desires, but you should start with a wedding planner first. They play an important role in every stage of the planning process, including helping you find your vendors. They’ll even help your budget stay on track.

After choosing a planner, a wedding date, and destination then you can hunt down your dream photographer and videographer.

We’re talking about  your wedding day timeline, guest list, and seating chart. But don’t worry, you’re not alone. Your vendor team will be able to help with many of these stressful elements

Must-real blog posts for nailing down the logistical details:

5. Purchase Your Wedding Day Attire

A wedding dress, a colorful suit, or even a wedding jumpsuit—no matter what you decide to rock on your big day, shopping is sure to be a good time. Or a little daunting. Because you’ve already determined your vision and budget you already have a starting point. Grab your vision board and head to your local bridal boutique or tailor to get started.

7. Plan Wedding Party Festivities

If you and your significant other have decided you want your crew by your side, it’s time to plan the pre-wedding festivities. You’ve probably already asked the gang to be a part of your day, but now’s the fun part—your bachelor and bachelorette party

From the destination to gear, make sure you’re sticking to everyone’s budgets when it comes to these festivities. We know you want to pamper your crew, but this is an easy area to overspend.

9. Create Your Food And Drink Menu

Catering options, reception bar, and wedding cake—our mouths are watering just thinking about it all. Sure food and drinks may seem simple. But don’t underestimate the amount of choices you truly have for each. When it comes to catering you have to hire a caterer, pick your meal style, and decide on what food to serve up.

Your reception bar is another element that may seem easy but requires a lot of prepping. From stocking to staffing and even decorating, there’s a lot that goes into bringing your cocktail bar to life. To add an extra personalized touch, work closely with your hired bartenders to create a signature cocktail that represents you. Whether it’s one cocktail with your wedding hashtag, two that are named after you both, or even extra options named after your pets, the options are endless.

Lastly, it’s time to talk about dessert. Yes, we saved the best and tastiest for last. If you’ve decided to stick with a traditional wedding cake, you’re in for a real treat. Finding a trusted bakery, scheduling tastings, and designing the cake—the wedding cake process is sweet all around. These details may seem small and insignificant, but are sure to make a lasting impact come wedding day.

Must read blog posts for ironing out your food and drink details:

11. Orchestrate Your Reception Entertainment

Celebrate good times, c’mon! It’s time to celebrate, and for many of you that means dancing. all. night. long. Intimate and Luxe Palace Garden Wedding Inspiration

May 25, 2022 | riley

Flourishing wildflowers and crawling greenery combined with regal romantic details—this palace wedding inspiration shows how understated elegance can beautifully blend with opulence to create a modern wedding fairytale. Beth Beresford Photography and a team of talented vendors played off the grand architecture and ornate interiors of the Shrubland Palace. By using creative displays of blooms by The Fleur Girl, the team showcased a nature-meets-luxe vibe.

With a color palette of sage green, blush, and white—massive wildflower pillars complemented the intricate detailing and bespoke panels for the ceremony at the library. The same towering pillars were used to frame the exquisite three-tier cake by Kerry Ann Cake Designs for the reception at the greenhouse. From the whimsical tablescape with gauzy and antique gilded accents down to the loose and airy florals—there’s an undeniable sense of magic in bringing the wild floral garden setting indoors.

A dreamy and grand venue like this calls for sophisticated attire, and it’s all about timeless style. If you can’t get enough of this ethereal wedding theme, scroll through these gorgeous photos captured by Beth Beresford Photography. This styled shoot has so much palace wedding inspiration that you can use for an unforgettable celebration.

Photographer’s Insights On This Palace Wedding Inspiration

This was a concept I wanted to do for a long time. Shrubland Palace is a 16th-century private residence of a previous royal and was newly opened as a wedding venue on the outskirts of Ipswich. As an Italian palazzo-style residence, you almost forget you’re in England with its incredibly unique interior.  The greenhouse hasn’t been styled for a wedding before, and it’s the most beautiful inspiration for intimate luxury. We wanted it to represent wild love with a secret garden vibe and the emerging trends we’re starting to see for spring. We kept the style clean, elegant, and simple so it wouldn’t take away from the incredible location.

Sparkly and Fun Boho Festival Wedding

May 22, 2022 | kailey

A bouncy house, a sparkle bar, and his-and-her cocktails—need we say more? With the help of wedding planner Infinity Weddings and Events, Gem and Jason were able to create a fun-filled celebration that’s the definition of cool. They prioritized elements that authentically celebrated their love story, including their three daughters every step of the way.

A team of talented wedding vendors transformed the Yoothamarra Homestead—a family farm wedding venue outside of Perth—into a dreamy outdoor wedding space fit for kids. Florals by Bohemian Flower Collective were used to dress up the ceremony backdrop and were transitioned into the reception space as a neon sign photo backdrop

From the epic monochromatic fashion to the carnival-style set up, photographers Mitch and Tijana captured every element that makes this boho festival wedding one for the books.

The Couple:

Gem and Jason

The Wedding:

Perth, Western Australia

A Seven Year Engagement

Our day was a long time coming. We met thirteen years ago, got engaged seven years ago. And in that time we had three beautiful daughters, but we also lost some incredible people along the way—we wanted to honor both. It was just so surreal finally having our special day and doing exactly what we wanted.

A Venue Fit For Kids

When hunting for a venue, we wanted to make sure we found a space perfect for kids and the Yoothamarra Homestead was just that. We wanted them to be able to go inside and relax or give them the option to come outside and boogie with us.

You Are The Priority

Our biggest wedding planning advice is to make the day resemble you. It’s so important to throw your individual twangs into it, making your day just as unique and special as your love.

His And Hers Cocktails

We decided from early on we didn’t want to do wedding favors. Instead we chose to do three hours of “his & hers” cocktails. It set the vibe and was just one more way to personalize our big day.

Working With Mitch and Tijana

Our photographer and videographer Mitch and Tijana were honestly two of the funniest people to work with on our important day. They were so accommodating and everyone felt so comfortable with them both. Their creative and quirky ideas matched our boho festive vibe perfectly. I would recommend them in a heartbeat.

Warm and Intimate Victorian Wedding

May 11, 2022 | riley

With changing mandates and restrictions due to the pandemic, deciding on a guest list can become a challenging and often heartbreaking process. As difficult of a decision as it was, Brittany and Calvin had to carry out their wedding with fewer loved ones in attendance and focus instead on the positives. A gothic revival mansion, a whimsical ceremony in the garden, a gorgeous tented reception, a romantic old-world theme, and opulent blooms—everything about their intimate Victorian wedding was so dreamy!

Set on the grounds of the Merrill House under the shade of tall trees, the couple said their “I dos” surrounded by lush and artful florals in shades of lavender, violet, and blue. To add to the whimsical aesthetic, they also provided musical instruments and floral confetti for guests to use to celebrate their special day. Gilded details and soft candlelight complemented the impressive floral arrangements by Pollen Nation, while the floating floral clouds created a dreamy focal point for their tented reception

With the expert help of their planner Tami Varma and a talented vendor team, their wedding was the coming together of their loved ones, and their wedding vision. Scroll through for garden wedding ideas to inspire your big day–as beautifully captured by Junebug members Joel and Justyna

How The Intimate Victorian Wedding Came To Be

When we started the wedding planning process, we decided that the music, food, and overall experience were the most essential. When coming up with the overall look, we decided modern traditional with hints of whimsy was the ultimate vibe of our wedding. After selecting our venue, The Merrill House, we were inspired by the classic and artistic interior finishes. We wanted to portray a similar style to our wedding day. Our planner, Tami Varma, executed this flawlessly. Between the florals, furniture selection, food menu, and not to mention the wide array of live entertainment—a 90s Hip Hop and R&B cover band, DJ, and harpist—we had our perfect day.

Classic Wedding Fashion That Matched Their Wedding Aesthetic

We wanted our wedding attire to be timeless but with modern elements. My Rita Vinieris gown was exactly that. Because of the small guest list, I decided to go with a more eclectic approach to the bridesmaid dresses. I actually didn’t even see them all together until the day of the wedding. They looked so amazing. Calvin looked very handsome in his classic Indochino tux, and the groomsmen all wore matching charcoal suits. For my hair, I opted for a clean wave that was styled to show off my beautiful Christie Nicolaides statement rose quartz earrings. My makeup was also kept very natural.

Personalizing The Ceremony With Secret Vows & Musical Instruments

Before the ceremony, Cal and I exchanged letters—we preferred to keep our vows between each other. We wanted the ceremony to be short and sweet, and Craig (our officiant) nailed it. We also provided musical instruments and floral confetti for each attending guest to use post-nuptials.

Why Hiring A Wedding Planner Was The Best Decision They Made

Our advice is to hire a planner. Regardless of how big or small your wedding budget is, having a planner made the entire day and experience so turnkey. Because of COVID, we had to cut our guest list by more than half. Although we were disappointed not to have everyone attend, we were able to spend the entire weekend and catch up with our immediate family and closest friends. It was truly so special.

Working Seamlessly With Junebug Members Joel And Justyna

We gave Joel and Justyna complete artistic control, and we are so thankful we did. The photos turned out so much better than what we expected. They knew exactly what, when, and how to capture (especially two humans who don’t exactly know what to do with their hands). They are a beautiful couple that shed their love into their art.

The pandemic forced a lot of couples around the world to adjust their wedding plans or change up the venue. And although Brittany and Calvin’s guest list may have been smaller, they took the opportunity to spend the entire weekend catching up with their closest loved ones. Thanks to their rockstar vendor team, they pulled off a fun and unforgettable event that deserves a toast.

Warm and Picturesque Costa Rica Wedding

May 7, 2022 | riley

Imagine saying “I do” with sparkling coastlines, powdery sand, and breathtaking sunsets as a backdrop, followed by dancing with the love of your life under starlit skies and the soft sound of waves in the background. Talk about absolutely dreamy. A romantic beach wedding is truly a magical experience. With One Heart Planning and their amazing vendor team at the helm, Andy and Catalina’s Costa Rica wedding was a dream come true.

El Mangroove’s stunning beachfront was the perfect setting for a picturesque ceremony. Asymmetrical arrangements of lush tropical foliage and white orchids by Romero framed the couple as they exchanged emotional vows. The couple and their guests were transported to a tropical paradise in the reception that followed. The theme continued with gorgeous tablescapes of greenery and orchids, coconut candles, woven chargers, and a bamboo teepee cake display. To top it all off, a canopy of string lights and floating palm leaves added just the right touch of whimsy.

And if the decor wasn’t enough to have you dreaming of a tropical destination wedding, then the wedding fashion will. The couple was stylishly cool for their oceanside affair, with the groom wearing a relaxed cream suit and brown moccasins and the bride looking effortlessly elegant in her strapless tulle gown paired with statement earrings.

Intimate Oregon Wedding Among the Trees

May 4, 2022 | riley

Hayley and Gabby originally wanted to elope with just the two of them, an officiant, and their photographer. But once word got out, their friends and family wanted to join them on the happiest moment of their lives. So the couple planned a slightly bigger celebration to include their closest loved ones. With a great love for travel and the outdoors, their intimate Oregon wedding among the trees was the perfect magical setting for their big day.

Tucked away in the middle of an enchanting forest, their ceremony on the Redwood Deck featured a statement triangle arch, dreamy florals by Songbird Floral Designs, and glowing lamps. The couple said their “I dos” under towering trees with gorgeous light coming through. They brought the romantic boho woodland vibe into their cozy Opal 28 reception with an eye-catching macrame backdrop, tablescapes full of greenery, and gilded details.

With the help of their planner Keen Events, the two brides were able to pull off an unforgettable celebration, all beautifully captured by Dionne Kraus Photography. Scroll through to learn more about their wedding journey—there’s more than meets the eye. Despite the hurdles, this wedding is proof that love truly conquers all.

Dionne Kraus Photography’s Thoughts On This Intimate Oregon Wedding

I came home from this wedding so teary. I didn’t know beforehand, but some members of the family didn’t RSVP because they didn’t support the marriage. On the day of, they decided to come last minute and even participated although they were pretty quiet and reserved for the most part. Some of my last photos of the night during the dance party were of the family embracing their bride and crying with their now married daughter.

The peacefulness and acceptance will forever stay with me. The power of that moment was tangible, and I don’t think there was anyone in that room not crying. When the song ended, they danced with their daughter’s new wife. The happiness showed as they held the woman who loved their little girl, I just can’t put into words.

Absolutely Picturesque Palace Courtyard Wedding

April 30, 2022 | justine

With the original wedding date at the height of the pandemic, Cris and Lara had to reschedule not once but twice, and the third time was definitely the charm! With the help of their planner Vintage Bodas and a fantastic vendor team by their side, they navigated through it all with grace, while keeping their palace courtyard wedding true to themselves.

Surrounded by hills and woodland, the couple tied the knot under a tree at the 16th-century Palacio Conde Toreno garden terrace. Hanging fabric streamers, dried foliage and florals by Materia Botánica, and a retro loveseat—the love was in the details in their natural meets romantic ceremony setting. The couple made a chic fashion statement by wearing complementing bridal separates—a high-waisted skirt and top unique to each bride paired with white booties and eye-catching accessories.

What started as a cozy and relaxed courtyard reception became a wedding concert when the band started playing. It was an exciting and perfect end to their big day as the couple and their guests danced and partied the night away. Junebug members People Truelove Tellers beautifully captured the emotions and beauty of their big day. Junebug Members People Truelove Tellers’ Insight On Cris And Lara’s Wedding Journey

I love this wedding because it is the perfect summary of a couple fighting for what they want. Cristina and Lara are wedding photographers and their relationship was an emotional earthquake for them due to the unexpectedness of their love for themselves. They managed to break down many barriers. And when it wasn’t prejudice, it was the pandemic.

They initially planned their wedding for March 2020 but they had to postpone it and celebrated instead with an Instagram Live. The second attempt was in December 2020. It was not possible, once again. So Cristina dedicated a beautiful letter to Lara in the privacy of her house. And the third time finally, mission accomplished.

Why They Decided To Have A Palace Courtyard Wedding

We chose the venue because we wanted an outdoor wedding and the courtyard at Palacio Conde Toreno was incredible for it. Plus our planner Vintage Bodas manages the place. The best and most important thing was being able to count on Marta from Vintage Bodas. She helped us throughout the process to contact vendors and make decisions. We certainly couldn’t have done it without her.

Being Intentional About Enjoying Every Moment Of Their Big Day

We wanted to get everyone to enjoy every second of the wedding, especially us. We are wedding photographers and we have lived many moments working. We know that sometimes couples don’t enjoy their day.

Unique Spin To Their Ceremony Altar

For the ceremony we decided that we had to have a loveseat at the center. We looked for backdrop inspiration on Pinterest and found a beautiful option—fabric streamers falling from a tree and it was just what we were looking for. The dried foliage and floral arrangements by Materia Botánica was the perfect complement. Our friend Virginia, from OhBlabla led a fun and emotional ceremony that we will never forget.

DIY Floral Stands For The Ceremony

The bases where the flowers were placed in the ceremony were made by Cris’ father.

Cocktail Party Reception

We served cocktail party food for the reception. Lara is a vegetarian so most of the dishes were vegetarian. There were 18 courses, three desserts, and a cheese table. Among the most praised dishes were boletus croquettes, Mexican beef cheek taco, and the typical fabada Asturiana.

A Mini Concert At Their Reception

I think the two most memorable moments were the ceremony and when the Vintage Love Band music group gave their concert. The ceremony was very emotional, because after two failed attempts due to the pandemic, we were finally there. The concert was absolutely crazy. All the guests sang and danced like never before. We hugged and jumped together. It was very exciting.

Personalized Wedding Favors

We gave the guests something that represented each one of us—a cactus because Cris loves plants and some cookies with a personalized message because Lara loves to eat.

Modern and Colorful Tribeca Loft Wedding

Chic and stylish with a modern urban vibe—there’s nothing quite like a wedding in New York City. Overlooking Manhattan’s iconic skyline, Nina and Stephen’s Tribeca loft wedding was a modern fairytale. Like many couples, they postponed their original plans due to the pandemic. Still, with the expert guidance of their planner Elizabeth Hall Events, they were able to achieve the wedding they’ve always envisioned.

Located in a former 1920’s printing press building, the couple exchanged their vows under an eye-catching ombre floral chuppah at the Tribeca Rooftop terrace against stellar city views as their backdrop. They then made their way down the grand spiral staircase leading to their reception at the penthouse below. In a beautiful glass-enclosed atrium, the couple and their guests danced the night away underneath the stars.

From the colorful florals and gilded details down to the modern take on the seating chart—Junebug member Elvira Kalviste captured all the details the couple put so much thought into. Whether you’re picturing a chic bash on a rooftop overlooking the city or you’ve set your heart on an intimate affair in a modern industrial loft, scroll through these photos for ideas to inspire your own.

The Wedding:

Tribeca Rooftop, New York City, New York, United States

Why They Had A Tribeca Loft Wedding

Living in NYC for six years, we knew we wanted a New York area venue because we felt most comfortable celebrating close to home, and it would be convenient for friends and family. Once we found Tribeca Rooftop, we knew it was special. I can’t say enough how breathtaking the rooftop terrace is with the downtown NYC skyline. Floor-to-ceiling windows and exposed brick surrounded the reception space, so it didn’t feel like a typical ballroom. We especially loved that it was an all-in-one venue included the separate ceremony and reception spaces and catering and bar, so we appreciated the simplicity. Not to mention the full sushi bar at cocktail hour, which guests still rave about today.

A Personalized Jewish Ceremony

Both of us are Jewish and we knew we wanted to have a Jewish ceremony to honor our faith. However, we’re not that religious in our daily lives. It was important to have a wedding that reflected our values and to remove any part of a traditional service that didn’t serve us. Rabbi Hayley worked with us to craft the ceremony and ketubah language that was unique to us and made sure that we felt comfortable with every part of the ceremony. I’m so thankful that we took the time to speak to Rabbi Hayley about our relationship ahead of the big day because it made the ceremony extremely meaningful.

A  Memorable Moment Walking Down the Aisle

Walking down the aisle to meet my future husband was a moment I’ll never forget. I chose to walk to “Halo” by Beyoncé because it just felt fitting. Stephen is my angel and I’m excited to spend the rest of my life with him.

A Wardrobe Malfunction Eased The Bride’s Nerves

It was super windy on the roof and the wind blowing from behind me as I approached the aisle with my parents. My veil was going crazy, flying over my head and being distracting. What was supposed to be a special and emotional moment became light and fun. The giggles from the audience eased my nerves. My sister and Maid of Honor had to take the veil off me at the altar because the wind was so strong it was pulling on my hair extensions. When she finally took it off, everyone clapped! I decided if that was the biggest hiccup of the day, I’d take it.

Striking Wintery Mount Rainier Micro Wedding

April 20, 2022 | riley

Lukas and Mallori already had their hearts set on their dream wedding location years before getting engaged, and when it came time, they tied the knot exactly where they envisioned they would years prior. From the snow-covered landscapes and enchanting pine forest backdrop to the picture-perfect Longmire Bridge ceremony and cozy cabin reception, this Mount Rainier micro wedding is magical all on its own.

The couple started the day with a first look, and it was the sweetest way to kick off such a romantic day. The bride had a standout moment in her burgundy wedding dress while the stylish groom donned a light gray suit with a matching deep red tie. Although it was chilly, they wandered around the mountain for a private toast and epic portraits after saying, “I do.”.

Even with the constraints of the pandemic, they managed to pull off an unforgettable and safe weekend-long affair with their closest family and friends. And Junebug member Maggie Grace Photography captured every moment of it. Scroll through for gorgeous winter wedding photos guaranteed to make you swoon!

What Led Them To Have A Mount Rainier Micro Wedding

We chose our venue years before we were engaged. We were on a snowshoeing hike when we came across the bridge. At that moment, I turned to Lukas and told him this was where we would get married.

Having All Their Guests Tested So They Could Enjoy Their Wedding Weekend Without Worry

We are most proud that we had a very intimate wedding weekend in the middle of the pandemic and that we kept everyone safe and healthy. Our wedding was before vaccines, so we had everyone get tested. Because of this, we were able to provide a weekend full of laughter, hugs, and connection for the first time in what felt like an eternity.

Ways They Personalized Their Ceremony

We personalized our ceremony by walking down the aisle together. We also asked Lukas’s dad to be our officiant and wrote our own vows and spoke them to one another. And lastly, our ceremony was only about ten minutes in total.

A Surprise Stop By A Park Ranger Before The Ceremony

Our one wedding day surprise was when we got stopped by a park ranger in the middle of our ceremony. He asked for our permit, which we had, but told us the permit shouldn’t have been approved because we were technically on a public roadway. He let us continue with our ceremony, but it was a good thing that our ceremony and vows only lasted ten minutes.

Junebug Member Maggie Grace Photography Instantly Put Them At Ease

Our photographer Maggie Grace was amazing. We had connected via Instagram years ago and became internet besties. On the first night of our wedding weekend, when our friends and family were meeting for the first time, Maggie was playing games and hanging out with all of us. Everyone thought that Maggie had been a lifelong friend they’d just not met yet, but it was actually our first time meeting Maggie too. That’s who Maggie is–the warmest best-friend-energy and your biggest hype woman. Working with her was natural and easy. She gave us direction while also letting us act how we naturally act. It resulted in natural, beautiful, authentic images that we will adore forever.

Wedding Planning Advice From The Newlyweds: Focus On What’s Important To The Two Of You

Don’t worry about convention and tradition when planning your wedding. Create an environment and an atmosphere that you are going to enjoy. Worry more about what it feels like rather than what it looks like. We are so proud of ourselves for sticking to our vision. For us, it was a weekend-long experience with our friends and family in the mountains, everything else didn’t matter that much.  Our guests have all said what a unique and awesome experience it was.
