7 Tips for Feeling Your Best on Your Wedding Day

April 26, 2018 | kailey

From hiring top-notch wedding vendors to decorating your wedding space—there are many tasks that go into the wedding planning process. It’s easy to get overwhelmed and stressed heading into your wedding day. You’ve likely exhausted your energy and spent countless hours bringing your dream wedding to life. You’ve made it to the big day—congratulations! Now what?

It’s time to celebrate the energy and hours you’ve put into making this special day happen. Your wedding day is an important moment in your life, and we believe every couple deserves to feel their best. We’ve compiled a list of tips that can be done before your wedding and on your big day to ensure you’ll be feeling your absolute best.

1. Surround Yourself With People You Trust

Wedding planning can be both exciting and stressful. This is why it’s important to surround yourself—from beginning to end—with people who uplift you, rather than those that radiate negativity. Whether you’re dress shopping or getting ready the day of, surrounding yourself with positive vibes will create a safe and judgment-free wedding space—which will directly influence your wedding day confidence.

Extra Tips About Your Wedding Party From Junebug Vendors

“Surround yourself with your best people. Think about in what company you feel like yourself, you feel like you can say what’s on your heart and you will be supported. Invite the people that will be there for the right reasons and support and respect your relationship.” —Pink Iceland

“Being true to yourselves and including only things and people that spark joy on your big day is so important to feel your best.” —Madeline Barr Photo

“If you’re naturally a bit anxious, I would advise being quite selective with who you ask to join you in the morning: try to surround yourself with people that you know have a positive and reassuring influence on you. If you’re getting ready where all your guests are staying, it can be a little trickier to keep the group small, but remember that it’s absolutely ok to put a note on the door that gently asks other guests to respect this time you have getting ready.” –The Stars Inside

2. Don’t Try Shredding For The Wedding

There is no better way to celebrate your big day than honoring who you are inside and out. Avoid fad diets that insist “shredding for the wedding” is the only way to feel good on your wedding day. Rather than overworking your body and limiting your food intake, try eating nourishing foods—that will provide you with energy lasting from morning until night—and staying hydrated.

3. Lean On Your Wedding Vendor Team

Before your wedding day, communicate and sort out last-minute details with your wedding planner and even wedding party. They’re there to help make your day the best it can be. Communicate wedding day duties that will give you the opportunity to be present with your partner on the big day. The less you have to deal with logistically, the more you’ll be able to enjoy.

4. Do A Hair And Makeup Trial

This is especially important if you are hiring a hairstylist and makeup artist. This will give you the opportunity to meet your wedding day crew and try out your desired look. Scheduling a trial will also give you extra reassurance and confidence in your makeup and hair choices. If you don’t feel like you still have time to switch things up—this will save you from a wedding day beauty disaster.

5. Stick To Your Normal Beauty Routine

Whether it be a face mask you saw online or a new shape for your eyebrows, the time before your wedding is not the time to try out a new beauty routine. If you’re looking to experiment with new products, buy and try them at least two weeks before the wedding. This will give you plenty of time to test them out and not end up with chemical burns or misshapen eyebrows.

Give yourself time to find what makes you look and feel your best—then stick to that all the way up through the wedding day.

6. Stay Ahead Of Schedule

There is nothing more stressful than running late, especially on your wedding day. From the strict getting ready timeline to the coming and going of visitors—it’s easy to become overwhelmed. We recommend getting an early start to the day, leaving ample time to soak up every moment. A calm wedding morning and more relaxed timing will allow you to be present and intentional.

“Having a mindful and joyful wedding day starts with a relaxed morning – so I always encourage my couples to think about the preparation experience. Try to respect any evening and morning routines you normally have: such as moisturizing before bed, going to sleep by a sensible time, meditating, having a healthy breakfast, and so on. All of these little tasks will ease your nerves, and also help with your energy levels in the morning.” –The Stars Inside

7. Exchange Letters With Your Significant Other

Sometimes written words are all you need. Whether or not you decide to skip the first-look, try writing heartfelt letters to one another. This will help calm jitters and make you feel extra special on your wedding day. After all, who could be better at that than your person? Between your wedding party, your loved ones, and your fiance—you’ll be filled with love and confidence.
