Andrea and Jason had a clear vision for their wedding: they wanted to combine the elegance of an elevated garden party with the energy of a raucous party. With that in mind, they chose a rustic venue and meticulously thought of ways to inject fresh, modern, and personal touches into every part of the property. From the color-blocked florals to the bright orange and yellow rattan loungers—every corner of their Bilston Creek Farm wedding was vibrant, fresh, and reflected the overall tone they wanted to set for the weekend.
With a blend of old-world charm and contemporary luxuries, the farm was a perfect setting for their big day. As the guests gathered for the ceremony under a centuries-old tree where the ikebana-style arrangements stood out against the minimal white decor and chairs. As the sun set, the reception kicked off at the open area of the orchard. The towering and low floral arrangements, set against an all-white tablescape, created a stunning contrast. Bursting with color, the colorful blooms truly made the venue come to life.
This couple devoted a lot of care and attention to every detail, resulting in a truly stunning celebration that perfectly reflected their unique style and personalities. Luckily, Junebug member Meghan Hemstra was there to capture every precious moment, allowing us to relive the magic of their special day through her stunning photography. So keep scrolling and immerse yourself in every beautiful detail.
Why A Color-Blocked Modern Yet Rustic Bilston Creek Farm Wedding
Throughout the planning process, we consistently zeroed in on the theme of “when elevated garden party meets raucous party” as our guiding principle for the overall tone of the wedding. We balanced out the feel of a fancy sit-down tasting menu with upbeat music in the background. We ended formal speeches on our itinerary with “yam seng” toasts, where Jason and I went table to table loudly “cheers-ing” the groups while downing our beverages. One of the highlights of the reception was when “Love Story” came on by Taylor Swift, and our tables started belting the lyrics in unison. Of course, we ran over to join in on the chorus. I was so glad our photographer Meghan Hemstra captured the moment for us!
How They Knew That Bliston Creek Farm Was The Perfect Venue For Their Big Day
Jason and I had only casually seen two other venues before choosing Bilston Creek Farm. The funny thing is that we had never even seen Bilston in person and only toured it through Facetime because of travel difficulties during the COVID era. We only took half a call to realize it was “the one.” We already had ideas about how to transform different parts of the farm for different events throughout the wedding weekend. Jason and his family grew up going to the island every summer, so deciding on a venue in Victoria meant a lot to us. For background, Bilston Creek Farm was one of the first registered settlements of the Hudson’s Bay Company, one of the first working farms in British Columbia, and now a modern-day lavender farm—their current-day flagship crop. Bilston was the perfect blend of paying homage to history while weaving in some modern-day luxury.
The Inspiration Behind The Color-Blocking Theme
When we had chosen Bilston Creek Farm, we were very aware of how naturally rustic our venue was, so we made it a priority to be meticulous in thinking of ways to inject fresh, modern, but personal takes into each part of the property in use. Jason and I have always gravitated toward color, so we intentionally mixed it in wherever fitting within our decor. From intentional color-blocked florals to bright orange and yellow tones amidst our rattan loungers, we wanted each corner of the farm to look vibrant and fresh – reflective of the overall style we wanted to set for the weekend.
Honoring The Bride’s Heritage Through A Traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony
One of the most memorable parts of the day was getting to do a traditional Chinese tea ceremony ahead of our Western ceremony. Jason and I actually did our first look with me in my cheongsam instead of my white gown. It meant so much that we got to honor my heritage and tradition while bringing our two families together to get their blessing for our wedding in a sentimental way.
They Created East-Meets-West Wedding Menu With Their Celebrity Chef Friend
Food has always been a huge part of our relationship, so we wanted to make our wedding day menu extra special for our guests. We knew we wanted to pay homage to Chinese wedding traditions while injecting inspiration from some of our favorite New York dishes. With the help of our friend, Top Chef Canada winner Chef Paul Moran, we created a bespoke tasting menu that fused East meets West tradition with his specialty of sustainably and ethically foraged ingredients. We stretched our East meets West vision into our late-night snacks to round out the evening. Chef fired up the onsite wood-fired oven to make us pepperoni and margherita pizzas late into the night. We also set up a table filled with instant Shin Ramyun noodle cups–a (too frequent) late-night guilty pleasure for Jason and me.
Wedding Advice From The Couple: Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff And Keep Your Focus On What Truly Matters
The best piece of advice we received was to not fixate on things that may go wrong on the day of the wedding. No one else would’ve known about any missed details except for you, so focus on being present in the moment because the day will fly by!
Congratulations to Andrea and Jason on their color-blocked modern yet rustic Bilston Creek Farm wedding. And a special shoutout to Junebug member Meghan Hemstra for capturing every stand-out detail and heartfelt moment throughout the day. Colors and florals can transform a wedding into a breathtakingly beautiful affair—this wedding is your proof. The right combination of hues and blooms can add depth, texture, and vibrancy to every aspect of the celebration, from the ceremony to the reception. Whether you opt for bold and bright tones or soft and subtle shades, there’s no denying that nothing elevates a wedding more than a carefully curated color palette and stunning floral arrangements.
Natasha and Alasdair’s Carlowrie Castle wedding was an absolute fairytale come to life. With all the classic elements of a timeless celebration, their big day was a feast for the eyes and the heart. From the awe-inspiring venue to the stunning arrangements and chic attire, this dreamy event had everything they could ever hope for and more.
The couple entrusted their vision of an elegant affair to a team of experts, who brought it to life with flawless execution. And what a setting they chose! Carlowrie Castle, with its 19th-century Victorian exteriors and modern, lavish interiors, was the perfect backdrop for their grand day. The Orangery–where the ceremony took place–was adorned with breathtaking floral arrangements on pillars, creating an enchanting atmosphere for their vow exchange. At the Marquee reception, lush blooms and greenery graced the tables, while the overhead installation added an ultra-romantic and whimsical touch to the space.
If you dream of a classic celebration filled with timeless details and personal touches that reflect your unique style as a couple, look no further than this Carlowrie Castle wedding for inspiration. Junebug member Ricky Baillie captured every moment of this breathtaking day, and we’ve got it all right here for you.
We always knew we wanted to get married in Scotland. We saw a few places and quickly realized that we wanted a venue that was exclusive to us. Carlowrie Castle is in its own league. It is traditional with a modern twist and reflects our tastes and personalities. Carlowrie is unlike anywhere else in Scotland, and it ticked all of our boxes.
Working With Their Vendor Team To Create A Classic Wedding Day Aesthetic
After searching through Pinterest for ideas and inspiration, we realized we kept gravitating toward a classic and elegant style. Working closely with Jordana Events, we were able to create a wedding day that was unique to us, ensuring that it reflected us as individuals and that our guests had the best possible experience. We feel incredibly fortunate to have such a fantastic vendor team who helped to make our special day a success. Everything went smoothly, and we extend our thanks and gratitude to everyone who played a part in creating our unforgettable wedding day.
Crafting A Ceremony That Focused On Their Love Story
We decided to go with a Humanist ceremony so we could be totally involved in the whole ceremony, which would be unique to our story. We met with a few humanists but connected with Neil Lynch best. We met with him a few times before the wedding to ensure he knew both of us well.
Personalized Notes: A Heartfelt Gesture For Their Guests
While we didn’t offer traditional wedding favors, we did take the time to write each guest a personalized message about what they meant to us as a couple. Our guests found a note explicitly tailored to them at every place setting, describing the special place they hold in our hearts. While this may seem like a simple gesture, ensuring that each of the 137 notes was flawlessly written and punctuated took a great deal of time and effort. At one point, we even questioned why we had taken on such a daunting task. However, seeing our guests read and react to the notes made it all worth it. Some guests have even gone so far as to frame their notes as a cherished keepsake of our wedding day.
Congratulations to Natasha and Alasdair on their timeless and elegant Carlowrie Castle wedding. And a big thank you to Junebug member Ricky Baillie for capturing all the precious moments this couple will cherish for the rest of their lives. If you and your partner envision an elegant celebration that oozes romance, you’ve come to the right place. We’ve got you covered with our planning and budget guides to help you get started on making your dream wedding a reality.
When Emma and Damien began planning their big day, they were determined to infuse it with their shared passions and personalities. They drew inspiration from their love for rocketry, fly fishing, rock climbing, and even their favorite kids’ show, Bluey, to create a wedding that was truly out of this world. The result? An ultra-personal Lussh wedding that was a heartfelt celebration of their love and everything that held special meaning to them.
If you’ve ever wondered how to incorporate your unique personality and interests into every aspect of your celebration to create a cohesive and elegant theme, then this wedding is a must-see. The breathtaking photos captured by Van Middleton truly embody the essence of their love story and the special day they crafted.
The Inspiration Behind Their Ultra-Personal Lussh Wedding
Our inspiration came from all the things we love! We didn’t stick to any one theme. We had everything in there that represented each of us. From my side, it was rocketry and aerospace-related themes with a bit of classic wedding thrown in. From Damien’s side, it was fly fishing and his creative figurine painting. For both of us, it was our love of the Mandalorian, rock climbing, and that great kids’ show, Bluey (introduced to us by my brother and his kids!). The color palette we chose was white, silver, and blue.
Choosing The Lussh Because of Its Location And Epic Rock Wall
We knew we wanted to have the wedding in the city so that it would be a nice central place for everyone to come to. Although we did have people from all over—Hong Kong, New York, Hervey Bay, Goondiwindi, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth. We fell in love with The Lussh because of the amazing rock wall in the ceremony area–it completely aligned with our passion for rock climbing. Not to mention it was a stunning backdrop. We wore our climbing shoes for our photos climbing the wall! The whole venue is gorgeous, and it had plenty of room for all the kids to play, for people to go outside and chat, and of course, plenty of areas to eat, drink, and dance the night away.
Using Paper Planes With Notes From Loved Ones Instead Of Confetti After Their Lussh Wedding Ceremony
Instead of confetti or dried rose petals to throw as we walked down the aisle at the end, we had everyone write some short, cute notes on colored paper and fold them into paper airplanes and throw them instead. While we were signing our marriage certificate, we had “I Believe I Can Fly” playing, and that is when everyone got their planes ready.
Personalizing Their Lussh Wedding Ceremony With Music And Including Their Loved Ones
We had all the kids from both sides of the family walk down the aisle first, blowing bubbles and dancing to the Bluey theme song. Followed by Damien and his party to Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop The Feeling.” Then finally, it was my turn, and I walked down the aisle to a metal version of “Here Comes the Bride” by the Blue Claw Philharmonic. It was epic! A real build-up that still chokes me up every time I listen to it. My brother, Peter, was my man of honor and walked with me. Halfway down the aisle, we broke into some air guitar and a secret handshake that was all good fun. Damien’s sister was his best woman.
Handmade Astronaut Wedding Toppers And A Rocket-Themed Photo Booth
Damien painted our wedding toppers—two little astronauts. He had them 3D printed and then created some beautiful effects. Our cat Ella, him, and I were standing on a rocket viewing platform. Damien also made and painted the platform. Damien’s mum created our rocket photo booth from scratch. We also had a smoke machine to simulate rocket exhaust and lots of fun props and things for people to use.
Blasting Into Marriage With An Interactive Rocket Themed Wedding Cake
We had a rocket wedding cake and had the rocket equation printed on it. We used dry ice and fairy lights to create the illusion of hot rocket exhaust as the rocket took off. The Apollo 11 launch footage audio played with the whole countdown and blast-off! As the sounds of the blast were happening, that is when we cut the cake and “blasted into our marriage.”
Giving Their Guests Handmade Fly Fishing-Themed Wedding Favors
For our wedding favors, Damien tied a fly fishing fly for every guest, using synthetic materials for our vegan and vegetarian guests. We created cards to which we attached the fly, along with the details of our wedding and our thanks to our guests. On the back of each card was a small magnet and a description of the particular fly, including its history, how Damien likes to use it, and what he tries to catch with it. They took a long time to make, but it was a nice touch, and our guests really appreciated them.

Ivanca and Kevin’s Stanley Park elopement was a dreamy affair that beautifully captured their love for nature and each other. And with the help of their dream team of vendors, they pulled off a celebration that was intimate, fashion-forward, and packed with personality.
Starting their day on a non-traditional note, the bride and groom spent the morning getting ready together. After sharing in the excitement and anticipation for their big day, they headed off to Stanley Park for a cozy forest ceremony in a secluded spot under a canopy of towering trees. The couple exchanged heartfelt vows with their closest family and friends as witnesses. That’s right, just because you elope doesn’t mean your loved ones can’t share in the joy of your special day. Remember: your wedding, your rules.
As if the wedding ceremony and reception weren’t already perfect enough, the fashion choices took everyone’s breath away—ours included. The bride was an absolute vision in her white jumpsuit, adding drama with a detachable tulle overskirt. The groom was equally dashing in his timeless tux, complete with a boutonniere complimenting the bride’s stunning bouquet by The Wildbunch.
Thankfully Junebug photographers The Godard’s captured this couple’s enchanting forest wedding, inspiring couples to forego their traditional plans in favor of an intimate elopement. Get ready to take notes.

Not Even A Rainy Forcast Can Get in the Way of Love
The weather forecast called for rain during our outdoor ceremony, but thankfully it didn’t. Turns out the forecast was for our happy tears. We–and the guests–were 100% crying during the whole ceremony, especially Ivanca.
Advice From Their Stanley Park Elopement
Our biggest piece of advice is to be flexible during the planning process. You can have a million plans in your head, but things may not go as expected, and that’s okay. These moments will likely become the most memorable to you and your partner, so you might as well make it fun!
Custom Wedding Scent Wedding Favors
Our wedding favors were a custom-scented room spray created by Hairess Home—owned by Kevin’s sister in Indonesia. The scent was quite woody and a bit smokey, reminding us of the fall season. We wanted our guests to be able to remember that moment.
Working With Junebug Photographers The Godard’s
The Godard’s were very easy to work with on the day of and even before the wedding. We had our engagement photos taken by them, and when we decided to do an elopement, they were our first choice. They were patient with us even with all the changes and questions. Since we didn’t have anyone helping us with the wedding planning, The Godard’s were very helpful in giving us some good input during the day’s run-down.
Congratulations to Ivanca and Kevin on their Stanley Park elopement. And big thanks to Junebug photographers The Godard’s for capturing every moment worthy of celebrating. If you want to see more of their work, check out their profile in our directory of the top wedding vendors from around the world.
After scrolling through these photos brimming with inspiration, you might be feeling inspired to elope—we don’t blame you. If that’s the case, kickstart your planning journey by checking out our elopement planning checklist. Here you’ll find the best locations, vendors, and inspiration that proves sometimes less is more.
If breaking with tradition means that you can personalize your wedding and make it more reflective of your personality and style, then we say go for it! And this was precisely Alexis and Timothy’s vision for their Akiin Beach destination wedding. Filled with personalized touches and sentimental details—from the birthstone color palette and DIY elements to their five officiants and a private dance on the beach—their nuptials beautifully reflected their ten-year love story.
Held in the middle of the Mexican tropical jungle, their ceremony at the hidden arches of Arcadia was truly one-of-a-kind. Spectacular ground arrangements and an installation of blooms at the altar complemented the feel of the location. And their reception in Akiin Beach echoed the same romantic atmosphere. On the beautiful white sand beach, with waves crashing in the background, they enjoyed a night of dining and dancing in the palapa under the soft glow of lights.
The talented Junebug member Julieta Rabadan captured the breathtaking scenery, the intimate atmosphere, and the love and joy that radiated from the couple. So keep scrolling and let yourself be transported to this dreamy destination wedding!
The Sweet Reason Why They Chose Their Birthstones To Set The Tone To Their Akiin Beach Destination Wedding
Our wedding planning was quite chaotic, as I was always looking to be unique, and adding sentimental details was essential for us. Our wedding had to feel like home—comforting and intimate. Being together for ten years made it impossible to capture the love. I’m also indecisive, so I went the sentimental route with the color palette and picked emerald green, my birthstone. And diamond is my husband’s, so we also did silver. I have to give a lot of credit to my floristFrida Flowers. All of the guests were blown away by the flowers at Arcadia, where we held our ceremony, as we had two different locations.
Having Five Officiants For The Ceremony
Having five officiants was a last-second crazy idea. But the whole time we were engaged, we couldn’t find anyone to marry us as I didn’t feel comfortable picking a stranger. We wanted someone who had been with us over the last decade and cared for us as a couple. So we had five officiants and expected nothing except for them to be their real authentic selves. Our officiants were all family members. It was so special. Especially at the end when they all said, “You may now kiss the bride!”
Personalizing The Ceremony By Including Their Moms And A Hand Tying Ceremony
Each of our mothers had their reading, one of which was a quote from our favorite romance movie. We also had our moms perform our hand-tying ceremony. The ribbon used for this consisted of only mementos. It was funny because none of the guests had ever experienced this, so everyone was confused and excited.
Advice: It’s Okay To Think Outside The Box And Have A Celebration That Truly Reflects Your Love Story
Just because someone says “traditionally” or “usually” doesn’t mean you have to do it. It’s your wedding. I struggled with this for two reasons. I like being different, so that goes against tradition, and my wedding was the first full wedding I ever attended, so I had no real idea of how a wedding should be. Do something exciting and different. It’s probably what you and your guests will remember most.
Why They Decided On An Akiin Beach Destination Wedding
We had two venues because I wanted a secluded jungle vibe, and my husband loves the beach. We ended up choosing an extremely remote diamond in the rough–Arcadia for the ceremony, and then we went with the beautiful Akiin Beach Club for the reception. It took us a little over a year and a lot of traveling to find the perfect venue. I was chasing the feeling of “when you just know, you know.” And we hadn’t gotten it until we went to these venues.
Akiin Beach Destination Wedding DIY Touches By The Bride’s Mom And Aunt
My mom and aunt are bigDIY people. Even though the wedding was in Mexico, that didn’t stop them from carefully making each scroll for the letters, creating the menus, and table frames featuring all the different romance movies that my husband and I love.
Alexis’s Dream Dress Was Originally Meant For Beyoncé
I had such a hard time finding my dress. And just when I thought I had given up, I went to the place I’ve dreamed of since I was a little girl–Galia Lahav in Soho. I felt so lucky as it was one of the first dresses I had put on, but the brand designer happened to be there one day. Sharon worked with me to make a few changes to my dress so it felt like my own. I added “Iloveyoupastit” in Swarovski crystals onto my veil just for my husband to see. We have said that to each other since I was 15 (him 16), so it felt extra special. I later found out the dress had been designed for Beyoncé for her wedding vow renewal. I wouldn’t have been able to wear it without her permission, which is pretty crazy. So thank you, Beyoncé, for my dream dress!
They Gave Each Of Their Guests A Personalized Handwritten Letter
Since we did a destination wedding with everyone close to us, we decided to handwrite each guest a letter and did not hold back. We carefully wrote each letter, and it was highly sentimental. Many people came up to us after with tears in their eyes, so it was definitely emotional. Every guest was so happy about this, and I highly recommend doing this for your wedding.
A Special Private Dance On The Beach
When my husband got a bad migraine, he needed to step away from the lights on the dance floor. I felt so bad, but looking back, we both agreed that it was a good thing because it led to us dancing alone on the beach and having that time to ourselves. We danced and laughed the entire time.
The days of cookie-cutter weddings are long gone, and we’re seeing more and more couples break free from traditional wedding planning expectations. Cash and Izaac are no exception. During their planning process, they had one goal in mind: create a day that fully aligns with who they are as a couple. And with the help of their talented team of vendors, they nailed every detail–from the boho outdoor ceremony to the reception under the stars.
They kicked off their day with sweet “I do’s” in a nearby meadow, surrounded by nature and their loved ones. To spice up the already stunning space, Bloom Theory Studio used spring florals to create an asymmetrical ceremony backdrop that beautifully framed the distant mountain views. While these touching moments sound hard to top, their Black Bear Ranch reception might just do it. Guests were greeted by long banquet-style tables dressed in neutral decor, a cocktail cart, and “Love is a human right” signage—just to name a few of our favorites.
Kicking Off Their Black Bear Ranch Wedding With A Lake Day
Our wedding was four days of pure perfection, and almost everything was what we had hoped for. In lieu of a rehearsal dinner, we opted for a day at one of Izaac’s favorite places, Redfish Lake—a crystal clear lake high up in the Sawtooth Mountains. We rented school buses to transport guests to the lake for a day of paddle boarding, lawn games on the beach, Aperol spritzes, and an amazing lunch.
A Reception Dinner Much Like The Ones They Enjoy At Home In New York
When planning the wedding, we decided to forgo many traditions that didn’t resonate with us, including our wedding day timeline. We love hosting dinner parties at our apartment in Brooklyn, so we wanted to model our special day to feel like a larger version of one of the intimate dinners we host with friends. Because of this, we were most excited about planning the welcome dinner, lake day, and reception.
Sometimes Friends Make The Perfect Officiants
We asked Cash’s best friend, Katie, to officiate, and she took on the task of secretly making the ceremony the most memorable part of the day. To compose a personalized ceremony, she reached out to our closest friends and family members asking them what made us so special as a couple. Surrounded by our favorite people, Katie used her superior wordsmithing to bring us all to tears as she described how we found each other and built our life together, and recited quotes she had received from our friends and families.
Advice: Book Your Vendors Early To Save Money
Start early and book your vendors as soon as possible, especially if you’re getting married in a rural or remote destination where there is a limited number of local vendors. Almost all of our vendors and rentals came from 2+ hours away, and in some instances, we had to piece together rental orders from multiple companies to get the quantities we needed. The additional fees for long-distance delivery and the cost of lodging for the vendors who had come in from out of town added significant expenses that we had not planned for.
Congratulations to Cash and Izaac on their Black Bear Ranch wedding. And a big shout out to photographer Emily Klarer for preserving these sweet moments that’ll serve as inspiration for couples that can’t pack all their wedding activities into one day. If this sounds like you, check out our guide for how to plan a weekend wedding itinerary.
Rose and Eric’s Beyul Retreat wedding was a one-of-a-kind experience. Their wedding vision: an extended celebration in an enchanting outdoor location that allowed them to relax, unwind, and spend quality time with their loved ones. The couple wanted their guests to experience the beauty of the Colorado mountains, and they accomplished all that and more.
The couple started the day with an emotional first look that set the right tone for the rest of the celebration. Following this beautiful private moment, they headed to the ceremony at Aspen Grove. The couple exchanged vows under the trees, with the mountains providing a breathtaking backdrop. The reception that followed was even more stunning. All the guests sat at one long, winding table in the middle of the forest. They dined and danced under the warm glow of string lights and the sparkling night sky.
In a world that can often feel disconnected and chaotic, this Beyul Retreat wedding was a reminder of the power of love and the beauty of nature. The couple’s commitment to each other and love for nature were evident in every aspect of the celebration. So keep on scrolling. One look at these photos captured by Junebug member Alex Mabrey will leave you feeling inspired and rejuvenated.
The vibe of our wedding was laid-back and outdoorsy. Think sleep-away-camp for adults. While everyone gathered to celebrate our getting married, we wanted to bring everyone together for a few days to celebrate one another. We love doing activities that bring us joy and sharing that with our family and close friends. The fine details started to come together once we found the venue, which a friend suggested we check out since it was still relatively new when we were searching for a location. Beyul Retreat had so much personality and a great feel surrounded by incredible scenery. So that spoke for itself and set the tone without us worrying too much about beautifying the spaces.
The First Look Was The Highlight Of Their Big Day
There were so many memorable moments that stuck in our heads. It’s hard to pick one moment out of the three days we were all together, but the first look was a highlight, along with the thrill that came with our being pronounced married and walking back down the aisle to “I Always Knew” by The Vaccines. We also had 15 minutes alone after we were married to soak in the moment and enjoy each other’s company away from all the hustle and bustle of the weekend’s festivities.
Their Ceremony Was Customized To Reflect Their Love Story And Included Their Loved Ones
We personalized the ceremony in a few ways. Our friend Devlin was the officiant because we met through him. He wrote the entire ceremony, filled with personal anecdotes and observations, and it was perfect. It was vital that we wrote and said our vows and had our friend Jarrod, Eric’s boss, speak during the ceremony. We didn’t know what he would say and loved having it stay a surprise until the moment. It was so special, and he even weaved my family into what he said since Rose’s two aunts and one uncle taught at some of the schools he attended growing up and were his teachers. Another way we personalized the ceremony was by having Eric’s niece and nephew play our processional and the ceremony gathering music live. Then for the recessional, our fabulous DJ played the song we picked out to complete the moment.
Choosing The Perfect Spot On The Property For Their Celebration
We are incredibly proud of the reception in Aspen Grove and how that turned out. We did a final walk-through a month before the wedding to decide where we wanted to get married on the property and where we wanted the reception. That is when we decided on the aspen grove space for both the ceremony and reception. We talked about a few different layouts with Beyul staff but ultimately went with our gut and asked for one extra long table under the lights, winding through the grove. The Beyul team absolutely nailed it and executed our vision perfectly. It was like a dream!
The Extended Celebration Allowed Them To Spend More Quality Time With Their Loved Ones
It was important that the wedding was authentically ours, and a large part of that meant that we gave our guests not just one day but a whole weekend to escape and gather. We emphasized having inclusive dinners and cocktail hours and providing a welcoming space for everyone, from all different times of our life, to get to know each other and have some fun. We didn’t want to rush through one day where we felt stressed about seeing everyone and spending time with all our guests. So having the three days was essential for us to spend quality time and enjoy what a special time in our life this event is. We are so grateful that all our guests took the time to be with us and everyone jived so well!
They Picked Beyul Retreat To Allow Their Guests To Explore Their Love For Colorado
The venue fit our vision for the wedding weekend and provided the perfect home base for people to settle in, relax, explore, and adventure. It just felt right and is a welcoming place. The setting at Beyul Retreat is stunning, and the drive up to the retreat is also jaw-dropping with its scenery. We wanted to give our friends and family who didn’t live in Colorado a chance to experience why we love to live here, and the venue provided that. A bonus was that there was no cellphone reception at the venue, and the only WiFi available was in the main lodge, so it encouraged people to be present, turn off their phones, and connect.
Advice From The Newlyweds: Hire A Planner
If you’re anything like us–laid back, happy in the moment, unconcerned with the super fine details–then hire a planner. We really couldn’t have done it without our wedding planner. She heard all our ideas, made us focus on what was necessary. And made our vision happen even better than we thought. We often joke that without her, we would’ve set the date and the space and just showed up. Leaving things up to fate to fall together at the last minute. Aside from that, it would be best to plan the wedding you and your partner want. There can be a lot of external pressure. But you are planning a weekend or celebration for yourself and your future spouse. Everyone will have the best time if it’s truly representative of you, not anyone else.
Congratulations to Rose and Eric on their Beyul Retreat wedding. It was a celebration of life, love, and adventure and will be remembered for years as a truly special event. And a special shout out to Junebug member Alex Mabrey for capturing every moment of it. When we usually think of fall weddings, we think of a mysterious and moody atmosphere with pumpkin-inspired hues, layered textures, and patterns. However, Christina and Terrell had a fresh take on their Keeler Tavern Museum wedding. They wanted to capture the season’s charm while creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. And they succeeded in doing just that by choosing a cozy museum garden setting and a muted version of the classic fall color palette with hints of deep wine and light and airy blooms.
Set on the property’s walled garden, the couple chose the most special spot to exchange dreamy vows. Their ceremony featured a flower-lined aisle that led to the fountain adorned with romantic ground florals. For their garden house reception, lush centerpieces and gold accents popped against the elegant all-white tablescape and perfectly complemented the standout architectural features of the space.
The couple took great care in selecting the elements for their celebration, and the result was truly unforgettable. And thankfully, Junebug member Par La Mer Photography was there to capture every beautiful detail and emotional moment as they unfolded. So keep scrolling because this is one inspo-filled celebration you’ll want to share with your vendor team.
The Inspiration Behind Their Keeler Tavern Museum Wedding Aesthetic
Since we got married in October, it was important for the design and style to highlight fall colors and that warm fall feeling Terrell and I get each year during fall. For the overall colors, we were torn between a deep wine or a champagne color for the bridesmaids. Ultimately, we went with deep red. We fell in love with our florist’s work on Instagram and worked with her on a color palette that worked beautifully. I was always set on gold flatware and highlighting the florals on each table with clean ivory plates. Terrell and I chose the chairs we thought would best suit the reception and the ceremony.
How They Knew That The Keeler Tavern Museum Was The Perfect Venue For Them
Finding a wedding venue felt daunting. Planning a wedding in 2022 was crazy, and everything felt like it was getting booked too quickly. One day, I googled “intimate wedding venues” and stumbled upon the Garden House at Keeler Tavern Museum. We immediately fell in love with the place when we saw the photos. I am also most proud of finding a unique venue that allowed us to have the intimate party we wanted. When we saw it in person, we were open on a date and were fortunate enough to get one on a Saturday during our favorite month. It was the first venue we saw, and we put a deposit down immediately.
Creating A Magical Keeler Tavern Museum Wedding Atmosphere With Florals
The most memorable part of the day was when the doors opened, and we looked at each other for the first time. We both immediately started crying even more than we were before. I am most proud of how my husband recommended the aisle be lined with flowers. It ended up magical, and we were in awe of how everything came together so beautifully.

Practical Wedding Favors That Also Had A Sweet And Clever Hidden Meaning
We gave our guests mini jars of honey with small gold bee charms. We both love honey and met on Bumble. So it was a sweet way of adding something personal from our lives.
It was essential to us to have the people who were truly in our lives and meant something to us. We didn’t want it to feel like a family reunion we have once every ten years. In the same fashion as our guest list, it was important for both of us to have longtime friends standing by our side. I had two, and he had four. It was not “traditional,” but one of his groomsmen stood on my side, and I thought it was really special. He happens to be one of my favorites of my husband’s friends.
Congratulations to Christina and Terrell on their warm and welcoming Keeler Tavern Museum wedding. And a big thank you to Junebug member Par La Mer Photography for capturing every moment of their special day that they will remember for years to come.
