Timeless And Low Key Central Park Elopement

February 12, 2023 | justine

For Jason and Dillon, a Central Park elopement was the perfect way to start their new life together. By choosing a simple and low-key celebration, they could focus on the most crucial aspect of their wedding: their love for one another.

Central Park, the iconic oasis in the heart of New York City, played host to the beautiful and meaningful elopement of the two dashing grooms. A hidden gem within the park, a rustic gazebo enveloped in lush ivy was the quaint and romantic setting for their vow exchange. After the big moment, the couple took a stroll through the park and took in the sights and sounds of the bustling city while their photographer followed them.

The memories from this day will be cherished for a lifetime, and the couple will always look back on their elopement as a day filled with joy, love, and a deep sense of connection with each other. So scroll through and discover what happens when you get caught between the moon and New York City. We guarantee you’ll fall in love with these captivating images by Laura Dilliberto.

The Couple:

Jason and Dillon

The Wedding:

Central Park, New York City, New York

The Special Reason Why They Wanted A Central Park Elopement

Since we started dating, we’ve traveled to New York every year to see the Macy’s Day parade. We thought there was no better place to tie the knot than the city we both love and made so many memories in. NYC truly is a magical place. We are proud of forgoing the pressure of family to have a traditional wedding ceremony and choosing to elope instead. This way, we could spend the entire day to ourselves and celebrate our love the way we wanted.

Their Central Park Elopement Fashion Was A True Reflection Of Their Style

We wanted our elopement to be simple and low-key. We wanted to incorporate some traditions, so we both wore classic tuxedos but added a little sparkle by wearing stunning loafers covered in glitter and a jaguar head with crystal-embedded eyes. I work in the funeral industry, so I wanted to incorporate something into my tuxedo that represents a huge part of my life. I had the buttons and cufflinks of my dress shirt replaced with Swarovski crystal skulls.

Hiring An Elopement Planner Was Totally Worth It

The main reason we chose to hire a wedding planner for our elopement was how effortless it would be for us. They took care of setting everything up, allowing us to travel across the country to make this day a reality.

Eloping Allowed Them To Splurge On A Great Photographer

We are both recent graduates, so the budget was a huge factor. We knew we’d save money by eloping, so we spent a little extra on our photographer. The most memorable part of our special day was walking all over the city with our photographer and having total strangers stop us to congratulate us and tell us how great we both looked!

The Wedding Team:

Photography – Laura Diliberto
Event Planning – Simply Eloped
Venue – Summerhouse at the Dene
Officiant – Sarah Ritchie
Grooms’ Apparel – Bonobos + Mens Wearhouse
Grooms’ Accessories – Aldo + Michael Kors
Rings – Tiffany Co.

Congratulations to Jason and Dillon on their timeless and low-key Central Park elopement. And many thanks to Laura Diliberto for capturing this special day they will forever hold in their hearts.

If you choose to elope, you don’t have to worry about meeting other people’s expectations or following traditional wedding rules. You can also avoid the stress and costs that come with big weddings. Instead, you can create a day that fits your needs and wants, just like this couple. And to top it all off, you can focus on what really matters: your love and commitment to each other.

Timeless Alaska Elopement Complete With A Helicopter Ride

February 3, 2023 | Junebug Weddings

Choosing to elope doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice family involvement. This Alaska elopement is proof. While Kimberly and Chris chose to host a party of two, they still found sweet and sentimental ways to include their loved ones back home. From the bride including pieces of her mother’s wedding gown into her veil to the groom sporting a picture of their dog on his pocket square, the pair made sure they would feel their family’s love from afar.

The day started off with the couple’s first helicopter ride over the stunning mountain terrain. They then chose the perfect spot to exchange “I do’s” with the snow-capped mountains and crystal blue water backdrop. To honor their Filipino heritage, the couple incorporated a veil ceremony and their parent’s unity coins while exchanging vows. To end their adventurous day, the two retreated to a cozy night in their cabin where they shared bites of their delicious mini wedding cake

If you dream of saying “I do” in an exclusive location with breathtaking scenery, keep scrolling through these gorgeous photos by the talented Henry Tieu. This adventurous love story is sure to inspire you to plan your own romantic getaway

The Couple:

Kim and Chris

The Wedding:

Knik Glacier, Alaska

How Family Was Included In Their Elopement

We asked our family and friends to write us letters that we would read during our elopement. Reading those letters together had us smiling, laughing, and brought us so many happy tears. Even though our elopement was just us two, we really felt the love from afar and knew everyone was celebrating in spirit.

Honoring Their Heritage

We wanted to honor some Filipino wedding traditions in our ceremony, and requested for our officiant to incorporate a veil ceremony to symbolize unity in our marriage. We also brought arras, or wedding unity coins, from both of our parents’ weddings. We exchanged our own personal vows — it was so nice to hear these sentiments that we don’t always say to each other on any other day.

Timeless Tropical Saba Estate Wedding Inspiration

June 25, 2022 | riley

Imagine this, walking down the aisle with sand between your toes and bright blue waters as far as the eyes can see. Or dancing under the stars with the waves crashing in the background. This is exactly what Junebug member Avavi Bali Weddings wanted to showcase through this Saba Estate wedding inspiration, but on a more glamorous level. Using a timeless color palette, opulent florals, and gold decor, this styled shoot is the perfect inspiration for tropical luxury.

The talented vendor team completely transformed the pool area into a stunning ceremony space with lush florals lining a reflective aisle and a chic lounge. And with the panoramic ocean views and tropical landscape as a backdrop, it was the ultimate romantic setting for exchanging vows. Meanwhile, the reception featured lavish florals, candles in towering glass candelabras, and gold furniture and settings. Nothing quite says elegance and glam more than gilded details against an all-white tablescape.

To top things off, the sophisticated wedding fashion perfectly tied into the theme. The groom stayed cool in a beige jacket while the bride stunned in a strapless gown. When it comes to destination weddings, it doesn’t get any dreamier than an oceanside soiree. One look at these photos by Imaj Gallery and you’ll want to fly to Bali for your big day. So keep scrolling because this Saba Estate wedding inspiration will leave you gushing.

How This Saba Estate Wedding Inspiration Came To Be

We did this styled photo at a brand new villa in Bali called Saba Estate. This six-bedroom luxury villa is a true beauty with its unique architecture and stylish, tropical chic interiors. The huge oceanfront garden features expansive lawns big enough to seat 300 guests. The theme of this styled shoot is timeless elegance. White roses and trailing greenery filled the space with floral beauty, while crystal candelabra and mirrored decor added the perfect touch of luxury. As for the massive floral backdrop at the sweetheart table, call us speechless. Also, we wanted to tell the world that Bali is open now. We hope to have destination weddings back soon.

Fashion-Forward and Timeless Malibu Mountaintop Wedding

March 26, 2022 | riley

Set in a beautiful Tuscan-style estate perched above the clouds, Natalie and Kevin’s Malibu mountaintop wedding was both fashion-forward and timeless. Between the beautiful vineyard, the stunning villa, and the spectacular ocean, mountain and city views, the Malibu Solstice Vineyards truly was the perfect venue for the couple as they toasted to their new life and marriage.

While their guests looked on, the couple exchanged their heartfelt vows with the breathtaking Santa Monica mountains as their backdrop. And as if the scenery wasn’t beautiful enough, the two stood out in their glamorous wedding attire–Natalie in a custom Monique Lhuillier dress and Kevin in a classic tux by Suit Supply

Their romantic outdoor reception featured U-shaped seating for an intimate feel, gorgeous white florals by Creative Light Design, a chic all-white tablescape, and unobstructed views of the ocean and the city skyline. To top it all off, they kept the celebration going by surprising guests with a silent disco and a late-night snack of soft pretzels.

Despite the venue change four months before the wedding, their big day went off without a hitch thanks to their planner, Only One Events, and their incredible vendor team. If you’ve been dreaming of tying the knot surrounded by scenic mountain views, then you need to scroll through these amazing photos by Rachel Wakefield!

The Couple:

Natalie and Kevin

The Wedding:

Malibu Solstice, Malibu, California

Emotional Moment Walking Down The Aisle

From where I was standing, the staircase curved, so I couldn’t see everyone until I turned the corner. Seeing all of my loved ones holding their parasol umbrellas and the gorgeous ocean view just took my breath away. Even though Kevin and I did a first look, it was an emotionally charged moment I will forever remember. Our chairs were placed really close to where we were standing at the altar, and I just remember feeling so embraced with the love of our closest family and friends, who traveled from New York City and Boston to be there.

A Unique Wine Unity Ceremony

Our venue has a vineyard, and we love wine, so we wanted to incorporate that into our ceremony. We had a section of our vows printed onto adhesive paper that we stuck to the back of one of the wine bottles from the venue during the ceremony. Our officiant–Kevin’s brother–explained that we had purchased ten bottles, and for our first ten anniversaries, we would revisit our vows over a glass of wine each year.

Flexibility Is Key To Wedding Planning During A Pandemic

Be flexible–especially in the ever-changing COVID climate. And always be ready and willing to shift your plans. We were supposed to get married at a different venue, but four months before our wedding, we changed venues to Malibu Solstice Vineyard and couldn’t have been happier.

Photographer Rachel Wakefield Made The Couple Feel Comfortable

Rachel was incredible—so easy to get along with. She honestly felt like just another friend there, which was important to me. I wanted my friends and family to feel comfortable around her so the raw moments could be captured, and everyone just kept saying how great she was. She had incredible ideas and made our vision come to life.

A Malibu Mountaintop Wedding That Feels Like An Intimate Dinner Party

I wanted our reception to feel like we were at a dinner party with our closest people. We opted for family-style and had everyone sit at one big U-shaped table. It created community and conversation and made it feel like we were at the most amazing restaurant with our favorite people.

A Silent Disco Surprise For Their Guests

The silent disco was a complete surprise to everyone. We were so tempted to tell everyone about all the exciting things we had planned for our wedding, but we’re so happy we kept it a surprise. People were so excited when they realized what it was and had the best time. People still talk about how great it was!

Congratulations to Natalie and Kevin on their fashion-forward and timeless Malibu mountaintop wedding. Big thanks to Rachel Wakefield for capturing the most beautiful moments of their special day.

Your wedding is about you and your partner, which is we firmly believe you should add your own personal touches to make it unique to your relationship. And just like Natalie and Kevin, working with the right team can help you put together a celebration that stands out.

Boho Touches In A Timeless Ravenswood Mansion Wedding

January 3, 2022 | riley

When you have a couple that’s fascinated by history and architecture, you know that their wedding is going to be the epitome of timeless–and that’s exactly what Spencer and Vijay’s Ravenswood Mansion wedding was. With sweeping views of the Tennessee countryside, bohemian decor, and a classic BBQ menu, the two–with the help of planner Ryder + Rhoades–combined elegance and rustic beautifully.

Rather than distract from Tennessee’s natural beauty, the ceremony featured minimal decor, with vintage Turkish rugs and a backdrop made of dried florals. And they kept that simplicity going with their reception decor, which was made up of gold accents, elegant tapered candles, and palm fronds paired with ivory florals.

The decor is not all that we can’t stop thinking about, though, because Spencer looked stunning in her Rue de Seine gown, which she paired with bold turquoise earrings. Not to mention Vijay’s unique groom attire, complete with a bold print dress shirt under his suit jacket that he paired with snakeskin boots.

So whether you’re looking for some non-traditional wedding inspiration, or you love the idea of incorporating boho details into your special day in a subtle way, you’re going to love these photos captured by Junebug vendor Laning Photography.

The Couple:

Spencer and Vijay

The Wedding:

Ravenswood Mansion, Brentwood, Tennessee

A Memorable Wedding Dress

The most memorable part of the day was putting on my dress and my husband finally seeing me in the dress with our first look. As many others experienced, we had multiple wedding reschedules with COVID. I purchased my dress in February 2019, so it had been sitting in my closet for 2 ½ years. Needless to say, I was ready to wear it!  It truly was my dream dress, and I loved wearing it every second of that day.

How They Achieved Their Boho Ravenswood Mansion Wedding

We had an outdoor wedding in the Tennessee countryside on the property of a historic mansion, and we wanted there to be rustic but elegant elements with a bohemian vibe. To achieve this, we had vintage rugs going down the aisle, terra cotta accents, and gold candle holders on the dining tables. Pampas grass and palm fronds were incorporated in the arrangements and altar. My dress also had a bohemian feel with the crocheting and bell sleeves, and I wore turquoise squash blossom earrings and a bracelet with turquoise accents. Guests were given a palo santo bundle for part of their wedding favor.

Why Ravenswood Mansion

Both my husband and I absolutely love historic buildings and architecture. We live in a house that was built in 1903, and my husband owns a few buildings in downtown Nashville built in the 1800s that he’s restored/in the process of restoring to preserve the original architecture and history of the city. So the venue we chose, Ravenswood Mansion, also perfectly highlighted our love of all things historic, as it is a restored estate that was built in 1825. My husband also wanted an outdoor wedding. The property at Ravenswood has a beautiful outdoor space complete with forested hills in the background; our ceremony took place out in the field behind the house. We were also able to get ready and spend time with family before the wedding in the restored historic mansion, which was also a unique and incredible experience.

Incorporating Their Vintage Car

My husband has a 1962 bright red Buick Skylark convertible, in which we love to take on sunset cruises and drives through the Tennessee countryside together. He also picked me up in the Skylark for a park picnic for our first date! So we incorporated the Skylark into some of the wedding pictures–which my husband absolutely loved–and it was the car we used to make our grand exit from the reception as well. Details like this were personal to us that made our day so special and memorable.

Moody and Timeless Orchard House Wedding

November 1, 2021 | Junebug Weddings

The many couples who planned their weddings during the pandemic had to be flexible with their venue, their wedding date, and even their guest lists. Anna and Anthony were no strangers to these challenges—although you’d never guess their Orchard House wedding had any issues. By keeping their guest list low and hosting their wedding virtually, they created an intimate and timeless wedding.

With a sword arch sendoff, a handfasting ceremony, guest poem readings, and the moody weather, their wedding had so many fun and unique details. To end the very special evening, they shared a special first dance that was unlike any other. Thankfully, Junebug member Nikk Nguyen Photo captured the day so keep scrolling to see what we mean.

The Couple:

Anna and Anthony

The Wedding:

Texas Hill Country Orchard House, Austin, Texas, USA

Their First Look

The first look was something our photographer suggested and I was surprised how nervous we both were about it. I surprised my husband in a different dress so seeing his face was perfect. It was a wonderful and private shared moment of happiness before the big event.

Having An Orchard House Wedding

The pandemic drove our wedding venue choice. We were quite limited in what was even available. But, we chose an Airbnb that was honestly our dream spot.

Personalizing Their Wedding

We wrote our own vows and chose poems to read during the ceremony—one of which my husband wrote! We also had a handfasting portion that was officiated by a dear friend.

Working With Nikk Nguyen Photo

It was a dream to work with Nikk Nguyen Photo! He got every shot we could have wanted and snapped touching keepsakes we’ll always treasure. He stayed back to let the day happen but was full of gentle and very helpful direction for our portraits.

Intimate, Timeless, and Personal Portland Wedding

January 28, 2021 | Junebug Weddings

Timeless, by definition, is never out of style, and this personal Portland wedding was absolutely no exception—from the bold fashion to the smallest details. Since we brought up fashion, we have to talk about the groom’s custom emerald green suit for a second. The velvety finish is so timeless and classy that it belongs on a red carpet.

Carefully complimenting the suit, Alle’s lace bridal gown and her bridal denim jacket are available on our Pinterest board. The fashion in this incredibly elegant wedding was enhanced by the intimate gathering shared with their families and friends. With a few surprises up their sleeves, this couple brought tears of joy to their guests’ faces.

Get ready to see gorgeous floral arrangements, strung lights, and picturesque table decor. Scroll down for photos captured by Karra Leigh Photo and definitely grab the tissues.

The Couple:

Alle and Scott

The Wedding:

The Evergreen, Portland, Oregon

Why The Evergreen Venue?

We toured probably 20 venues and knew immediately when we walked into Blockhouse and The Evergreen that they were exactly what we were looking for. Both intimate settings that are very ‘Portland’ but still gave us flexibility to create the atmosphere we were seeking for both events.

Creating A Timeless Wedding

The most important thing to us when planning our wedding was creating an intimate and timeless wedding that was truly us with the help of our day-of planning team. As an Interior Designer and lover of all things branded, I had very specific ideas about how our rehearsal, ceremony, and reception all tied together with the classic, curated, modern, unique and timeless vibe we were going for. Cohesion and details make or break it in my opinion and working with Mae + Co. Creative gave us a huge sense of ease because we knew that they would implement our plans with utter perfection. Manda and her team are all about the details too and working with them was a dream!

Memories Made in Portland

Hands down when I surprised Scott just after our first look—when we were doing wedding party photos—with his dream motorcycle. My twin brother, who was in the wedding party, snuck away and drove up with it. No one knew what was going on other than our videographer and photographer who captured all the moments leading up to it—he was in total shock! Additionally, we wrote personal vows to one another that we shared during our first look. We wanted to have a deep connection just between the two of us before the ceremony started. It was magical and probably the most memorable single moment other than our engagement.

Wedding Advice From The Bride

As someone who is exceptionally detail-oriented and organized, I would say that it is really important to take care of all the most important planning aspects first. Getting the big things checked off helps the rest of the process be streamlined and calm. Create a wedding folder and save all wedding-related materials in one place to easily reference back to.  Sub-folders are always a good idea too!

Let’s Take A Snack Break

Crown Paella was incredible! We had a huge variety of appetizers that were served during cocktail hour at Loyal Legion before the Reception. For dinner, there were three different paella’s and a variety of other yummy foods, but dessert was what I was most excited about. We had Hungry Hero make a spectacular dessert bar full of all different bars, cookies, pie pops, cupcakes, etc. We wanted our own cake for the two of us that Dream Cakes PDX created and it was hands down the best cake we have ever had. Later in the evening, when the dancing and photo booth opened up, we served 1927 s’mores and Ruby Jewel Ice cream sandwiches for late night snacks!
