Keep reading for helpful tips and examples on wedding invitation wording. Image by Carmen Lopez.

Wedding invitations are your first chance to share the excitement of your big day with your loved ones. They do more than just announce the date and time—they set the tone for your entire celebration! Whether you’re going for something classic, modern, or completely unique, the right wedding invitation wording makes all the difference. This guide walks you through the must-have details and gives you plenty of examples for inspiration.

Wedding Invitation Wording Breakdown

1. The Host

Announcing the host is a longstanding tradition, though it is no longer as strictly observed as it once was.Traditionally, the bride’s parents take center stage here, but these days, anything goes! Whether the couple is hosting, families are teaming up, or you’re honoring loved ones, you’ve got plenty of ways to phrase it. This section should establish who’s bringing everyone together. While it’s still a custom, you don’t see it as much in modern wedding invitations. Many couples are opting to leave out the host altogether or use more laid-back wording instead.

Here are some ideas to inspire your wording:

  • Traditional Hosting

“Mr. and Mrs. William Carter invite you to celebrate the marriage of their daughter, Sophie Jane, to Ethan James…”

  • Couple Hosting

“Together with their families, Maya and Ben invite you to share in their joy as they tie the knot…”

  • Honoring a Deceased Parent

“Lila Grace, daughter of the late Margaret Grace and Mr. Henry Grace, and Ryan Cooper, son of Mr. Samuel Cooper and Mrs. Evelyn Cooper, warmly invite you to join their special day…”

2. Request to Attend

Now it’s time to officially invite your guests to your big day! This part sets the vibe—whether you’re keeping it traditional or going for something more relaxed. Here’s where you let people know you want them there to celebrate with you.

Check out these examples for inspiration:

  • Classic and Formal:

“The honor of your presence is requested at the marriage of their children…”

  • Warm and Personal:

“We would love for you to join us as we celebrate our wedding day!”

  • Modern and Fun:

“Let’s make memories together! Please come and celebrate with us…”

3. Action Line

Here’s where you spell out what you’re inviting your loved ones to share in—whether it’s a grand ceremony or an intimate celebration. Think of this as the spotlight moment of your invitation, setting the stage for what’s to come!

Here are some examples to get you started:

  • Traditional (Parents Hosting):
“At the marriage of their daughter…”
  • Casual and Couple-Focused:
“At the celebration of their union…”
    “As they say ‘I do!’”
    “In celebration of their marriage…”

4. Names of the Couple

While it’s pretty straightforward, some traditions and details might make you pause. Who goes first? What about middle names? And how do you handle same-sex couples? Deciding the order and format depends on your preferences and the tone of your celebration. Choose what feels right—after all, it’s your day!

  • Traditional (Different-Sex Couples):

The bride’s name is typically listed first, followed by the groom’s. For formal invites, the bride’s first and middle names are used, while the groom’s full name, including titles, is listed.

  • Same-Sex Couples:

There’s no set rule—names can be in alphabetical order, based on personal preference, or simply what looks best with your design.

  • Casual Weddings:

For a relaxed, laid-back tone, first names alone are perfectly fine.

5. Date and Time

When it comes to adding the date and time, formal weddings usually stick to tradition, while casual celebrations can take a more relaxed approach. Here’s how to get it just right:

  • Formal Weddings:

The date and time are fully spelled out, adding an elegant touch.

Example: Saturday, the ninth of July, two thousand twenty-four, at five o’clock in the evening

  • Casual Weddings:

You can keep things simple by using numerals.

Example: July 9, 2024, at 5:00 PM

Some quick tips:

  • For formal invites, avoid abbreviations and write the year in lowercase (no “and” before the year).
  • If your ceremony is in the evening (starting at 5:00 PM or later), specify “in the evening.” Afternoon weddings (noon to 4:00 PM) can just use “o’clock” or “in the afternoon.”

6. Location

Where’s the big day happening? The venue details should be clear and easy to follow, setting the scene for your celebration. Here’s how to format it:

  • Formal Weddings: Include the venue name, city, and state spelled out in full. Skip the street address unless it’s a private home or tricky to find.
    Example: The Crystal Ballroom
    The Magnolia Hotel
    Dallas, Texas
  • Casual Weddings: You can still keep it simple but feel free to use abbreviations for the state if that suits your vibe.
    Example: Meadowbrook Hall
    Portland, OR

7. Reception Information

Let your guests know what to expect after the ceremony—it’s where the real celebration begins! Here’s how to keep things simple and clear:

  • Same Location? Just say something like:
    “Reception to follow”
    or
    “Dinner and dancing to follow.”
  • Different Location? List the reception venue right after the ceremony details or on a separate card:
“Reception to follow at The Sunset Pavilion.”
  • Not Serving a Full Meal? Set the right expectations with phrases like:
“Join us for cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and dancing.”
    or
“Cake, punch, and merriment to follow.”

8. Other Considerations

Dress Code
Including a dress code is optional, but it can definitely help your guests know what to wear. The one exception? If your wedding is black tie, be sure to call it out on the invite. If you don’t mention a dress code, your guests will usually take their cue from the formality of your invitation. For example, a fancier invite says “formal” while a laid-back design suggests a more casual vibe. The dress code should come after the reception info.

Dress Code Wording Examples:

  • Black tie: Tuxedos and floor-length gowns
  • Formal attire: Suits and elegant dresses
  • Cocktail attire: Suits or dress shirts with ties, cocktail dresses
  • Beach casual: Button-down shirts, sundresses, shorts, sandals

Feel free to place it in the lower right corner or add a note at the bottom if you prefer:

  • “Black tie requested”
  • “Cocktail attire please”

Wedding Website
Instead of printing your wedding website directly on the main invitation, it’s best to include it on a separate reception or info card. You could also include your URL (or even a QR code) on your save the date so guests can easily access all the details in one place.

9. RSVP Card

Great news! Wording your RSVP card (also called the reply or response card) is much simpler than crafting the main invitation. Here’s what you’ll need:

RSVP Date:
Start with the all-important reply-by date, which should be about three to four weeks before the big day. This gives you time to get a final headcount to your caterer and lock in your seating chart.

Consistency is Key:
Keep the tone of the RSVP card in line with the invitation. For formal invitations, use phrasing like “the favor of a reply” (matching “the honor of your presence” from the invite). For something a bit more casual, you can go with “Kindly reply by” or “Kindly respond by.”

Guest(s) Names:
Add a line for guests to write their names, along with checkboxes for accepting or declining the invitation. If you want to go formal, you can use the “M” line (for Mr., Mrs., Miss, or Ms.), but for a more laid-back vibe, simply use “Name(s)” instead.

Extras You Can Add:

  • Meal choices (with checkboxes or icons)
  • Fun song requests like “We promise to dance if you play _________”

10. Reception Cards

If your ceremony and reception are at the same place, you can keep it simple with “Reception to follow” at the bottom of the invite. But if they’re at different locations, treat the reception as its own event by including a separate reception card with all the venue details.

11. Activity Card

Planning a full wedding weekend? Activity cards are perfect for sharing all the fun happenings. List everything in order, so your guests won’t miss a thing. If your wedding has lots of events or info to share, check out our guide on wedding detail cards for extra help. If you decide not to include an activity card, be sure to share these details on your wedding website.

12. Information Card

An information card is a great way to give your guests any extra details they may need—directions, transportation tips, lodging recommendations, etc. If you’re adding multiple enclosures to your invitation suite, make sure to check out our guide on assembling everything in one smooth package.

How to Have Your Wedding Ceremony and Reception in the Same Room

December 16, 2024 | justine

Keep reading for expert advice from Junebug vendors on making the most of hosting your wedding ceremony and reception in the same space. Image by Elizabeth Salazar.

Hosting your wedding ceremony and reception in the same room can be a game-changer. Whether it’s for convenience, cost savings, or a creative twist on tradition, this option offers plenty of benefits. Guests have just one place to navigate, your timeline can flow more smoothly, and you might save on decor by repurposing elements. As with any decision, planning is required to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

Here’s how to make the most of your shared space while avoiding common pitfalls with expert advice from Junebug vendors who’ve seen it all.

How to Have Your Wedding Ceremony and Reception in the Same Room

Setting The Scene

The design and layout of your venue play a huge role in making a shared space feel intentional. You’ll want a setup that transitions effortlessly from ceremony to reception.

“Hosting both ceremony and reception in the same space can make weddings more cost-effective for couples. It’s also a lot simpler to use the same decor from the ceremony to the reception, which can save money as well,” says Michigan-based photographer Catie Eovaldi.

Consider multipurpose décor like floral arrangements that can move from the aisle to the tables or an arch that doubles as a backdrop for your sweetheart table.

Preparing for the Ceremony

Start by creating a ceremony setup that feels intimate and beautiful, keeping in mind how the space will transform later.

A first look with your partner is highly recommended. According to New Jersey photographers, The Markows, “Definitely plan to do a first look! This way, you can get all of your photos done and enjoy cocktail hour. This gives you the chance to get all the group photos you want and allow your photographer enough time to come up with the unique portrait ideas you deserve.”

This simplifies your timeline and allows you to focus on your guests during cocktail hour while the space is being flipped.

Check out this stunning warehouse wedding to see how they transformed their ceremony setup—featuring acrylic chairs, a petal-lined aisle, and statement florals on geometric gold stands—into a modern, ethereal reception. A perfect showcase of flipping a space in style, all beautifully captured by Ash Gabes Photography.

Transforming for the Reception

Transforming your ceremony into a reception space requires coordination and timing, and having a solid plan is crucial.

“A planner or coordinator is invaluable when you are flipping a space. This is a great moment for a cocktail hour or entertainment for your guests. Think of it as an opportunity to be creative and offer your guests a unique experience!” Milly of The Rose Reflective suggests.

Cocktail hours or designated areas for mingling keep guests entertained and out of the way while vendors handle the transition. Without this, “you run the risk of your guests wandering around the area and potentially getting lost or hanging out in a bar/restaurant and filling up before dinner,” adds Catie.

This chic wedding was effortlessly transformed from a modern, ethereal ceremony to a minimalist chic reception. Check out all the stunning details, beautifully captured by Kapsule Co.

Timing the Day Right

A streamlined timeline is essential for keeping everything on track. With the proper preparation, you can avoid downtime or rushed transitions.

The Markows emphasize the importance of timing for photos: “Avoid cramming all of your photos into cocktail hour and avoid planning a day where your family and friends can’t enjoy the majority of cocktail hour.”

Schedule portraits to maximize the time between the ceremony and reception, taking advantage of the natural break while guests enjoy drinks and hors d’oeuvres.

Coordinating the Team

Flipping a space takes a team effort, so be sure to communicate with your vendors well in advance. Everyone, from florists to photographers, must know the plan to ensure a smooth transition.

“Have a designated team with a plan in place on how both spaces will be set up. This will ensure a smooth transition on the vendor side,” advises Catie.

This floral-filled celebration showcases the transformation of a raw space into a romantic ceremony with overhead blooms, a floral-lined aisle, and a statement backdrop, then repurposes it for the reception with lush tablescapes and taper candles. Savanna Sturkie perfectly captured every stunning detail for inspiration.

Things to Keep in Mind

While combining your ceremony and reception in the same room has its perks, it’s not without challenges.

“There are stricter time constraints on vendors to create your reception space, so you may be able to do less than if you are hosting your reception in a different space,” notes Milly.

And if a religious ceremony or avoiding a first look is a priority, The Markows suggest reconsidering: “Really, the only disadvantages are if you prefer a religious ceremony at a place of worship or you adamantly are against a first look.”

The experts agree: the key to making it work lies in having a solid plan, an experienced team, and  a venue that ticks all the right boxes—one that’s versatile, convenient, and perfect for your vision. Not only will you create a cohesive experience for your guests, but you’ll also enjoy the benefits of simplicity, cost savings, and a day that flows effortlessly. With the right foundation in place, you’ll be well on your way to creating a celebration that’s as stress-free as it is unforgettable.

This disco ball-filled wedding featured a space transformed with floral pillars, colorful candles, and antique holders for the ceremony, then flipped for the reception with metallic streamers for a playful touch. See all the amazing details, captured by Elizabeth Salazar.

Keep reading to discover the engagement ring trends making waves this year to help you find the one that feels just right. Image by Elissa Deline.

2025 engagement ring trends strike a perfect balance between classic elegance and modern creativity. From vintage-inspired settings to sustainable materials, this year’s designs offer something for everyone, whether you’re drawn to timeless simplicity or bold, statement pieces.

Customization and personal expression take center stage, with couples choosing rings that truly reflect their style and values. Whether you’re leaning toward a subtle nod to tradition or embracing something unique, 2025’s trends are all about making the ring your own. We’ve broken down the trends fueling the excitement so you can confidently make your choice.

2025 Engagement Ring Trends

Marquise Cut

Marquise cut rings are a 2025 favorite, known for their elegant, elongated shape that flatters the finger and enhances the stone’s size. Their vintage charm and versatility make them perfect for both minimalist and intricate designs, offering a timeless yet distinctive choice for modern couples.

Every detail and moment of this styled shoot will leave you with plenty of ideas to help you envision your own big day. Image by Nikki Daskalakis.

Moissanite

Moissanite is quickly becoming a top choice for those who want a dazzling stone without the hefty price tag of diamonds. Known for its brilliance and fire, moissanite is a sustainable alternative that shines as brightly as a traditional diamond. As the demand for ethically sourced and eco-friendly options grows, moissanite is an excellent choice for couples looking for beauty and responsibility in their engagement rings.

Let’s Frolic Together captured every detail and moment of this unique wedding so you can swoon over it and pin it to your mood board.

Elongated Cushion Cuts

The elongated cushion cut is making a comeback. This vintage-inspired cut combines the softness of a round shape with the squared edges of a traditional cushion cut, creating a modern and timeless ring. Elongated cuts are perfect for showing off the brilliance of your diamond or gemstone, giving it a dramatic, elongated effect that flatters the finger.

Double Stone Rings

Double stone rings, or Toi et Moi rings, represent the strong partnership between two people. Whether you choose matching stones or different gems to symbolize your unique connection, double-stone rings are one of the most romantic and meaningful trends of 2025. These rings allow for a more customized look and are perfect for those who want to add a personal touch to their engagement ring.

Ash Gabes Photography was behind the camera to capture this chic modern elopement.

Gemstones

Have you thought about choosing something other than the traditional diamond for your engagement ring? Gemstones are becoming increasingly popular in the engagement ring world, offering personality, versatility, and one-of-a-kind charm. Options range from subtle stones like morganite and aquamarine, which add a soft hint of color  to bold choices like sapphires and emeralds that make a striking statement. Plus, gemstones can often be a more budget-friendly and eco-conscious alternative to diamonds.

Captured by Junebug vendor TMinspired Photography, this styled shoot is a testament to meticulous attention to detail and boundless creativity—sure to leave you inspired.

Eternity Bands

Eternity bands are becoming a popular choice for engagement rings in 2025. You’ve probably seen this style worn as a wedding band, but more couples are opting for the full-circle sparkle as their main ring. It’s a chic, slightly unexpected option that still feels timeless.

Old World Cuts

Old-world cuts, such as the antique cushion, old mine, and rose cuts, are gaining popularity among couples who appreciate vintage-inspired designs. These cuts are softer and less symmetrical and offer a nostalgic, heirloom feel.

Nikki McCrone captured every moment perfectly, making sure the lively and fun vibe of this wedding really shone through.

Bezel Set

Bezel-set engagement rings are gaining popularity in 2025 for their sleek, modern look and practical design. Beyond bringing a fresh twist to the standard stone setting, the metal rim encasing the stone provides excellent security and durability for your treasured ring. This setting pairs beautifully with both minimalist and bold styles, offering a contemporary twist to classic elegance.

Elissa Deline captured all the memorable details of this intimate celebration.

Textured and Sculpted Bands

Textured and sculpted bands are perfect for those who want a little extra flair. From hammered metal to intricate patterns, these bands create a tactile experience that adds depth and personality to the ring. Whether you choose a subtle texture or something more sculptural, these rings make a bold statement while still remaining elegant and refined.

KT Marry  beautifully captured every moment and detail of this beautiful mountain wedding.

Flat Bands

Flat bands continue to rise in popularity, especially among those who prefer a minimalist look. These bands have a clean, sleek design and are ideal for those who want a modern, comfortable ring. Flat bands can be paired with a variety of stones, making them a versatile option for couples who want a more contemporary and low-profile engagement ring.

Micro Pave

For those who can’t get enough sparkle, pave diamonds surrounding the band offer a luxurious and radiant effect. These tiny diamonds are set closely together, creating a shimmering, continuous band of light. Pave bands are a great way to add extra shine to your engagement ring without overwhelming the center stone.

Whether you’re into the sustainability of moissanite or the timeless vibe of vintage-inspired designs, 2025’s engagement ring trends really have something for everyone. It’s all about personalizing your ring to make it as unique and meaningful as your relationship.

While you’re figuring out the perfect ring, you might want to think about whether you’d like to go engagement ring shopping with your partner—some couples love making it a joint adventure. And don’t forget about engagement ring insurance! It’s definitely worth looking into so you can keep that gorgeous ring safe. Whatever you decide, remember the best ring is the one that tells your story and lasts a lifetime.

Bride Rocks Doc Martens in this Chic, DIY Belfast City Hall Wedding

December 11, 2024 | justine

When unforeseen circumstances meant they had to bring their wedding date forward, Aoife and John made a heartfelt choice: to focus on what truly mattered—love, connection, and the people closest to them.

Aoife and John’s Belfast City Hall wedding was proof that you don’t need a massive budget or an elaborate plan to create a day that’s uniquely yours—a masterclass in doing more with less. Despite working with a modest budget, they brought their vision to life with care and intention.

From Aoife’s statement-making Doc Martens to heartfelt family traditions, every detail of their day was infused with creativity, personal touches, and an effortless city chic vibe. “With careful attention to what we imagined the day and ourselves to look like, we made it work well,” she shares.

Every aspect of their celebration was thoughtfully chosen, resulting in a day full of unforgettable moments. See their love story unfold through the stunning images captured by Junebug vendor Lit Photography.

Personalized touches added even more charm. Aoife gifted John soccer cufflinks, a nod to his love for football, while John surprised her with a special wedding perfume.

Aoife’s parents walked her down the aisle, a poignant moment that underscored the importance of family. During the ceremony, their siblings read poetry, adding an intimate and personal touch to the proceedings. As a final flourish, their mums signed the registry as witnesses—a deeply meaningful way to honor the women who shaped their lives.

One of the most memorable parts of the day was a quiet hour spent wandering through Belfast city center with their photographer, Lauren of Lit Photography. “It was just us, chatting and getting photos taken in the city we fell in love in,” Aoife recalls.

For their portraits, Aoife swapped her wedding heels for a pair of Doc Martens, giving her look an unexpected yet effortlessly cool edge.

“…just enjoy the day, and you’ll get the best photos.”

“There’s a photo of us with a red bus in the background—it captures the day and us perfectly.” Lauren’s advice to “just enjoy the day, and you’ll get the best photos” set the tone for a relaxed and fun shoot.

The decorations were a true labor of love. Aoife, her mum, and her sisters sourced unique pieces from charity shops and set up the reception room themselves the night before the wedding. “It was super fun and a real money-saver,” Aoife says. They also chose dried flowers over fresh, adding timeless beauty while staying on budget.

With less than 20 guests, Aoife and John focused their spending on what mattered most: a stunning venue, incredible food, and a dream photographer. The intimate atmosphere of The Merchant Hotel, with its timeless Victorian and Deco elegance, provided the perfect setting for their celebration.

“We wanted it to be intimate and personal,” Aoife shares. “Our style was city chic and laid back.” Working closely with vendors who shared their values created a stress-free experience that felt authentic and effortless.

“Put love at the center of your day. None of the changes to our plans mattered in the end.”

“We focused on bringing our vision to life with thoughtful details, and it all came together beautifully,” she shares. Aoife’s advice to other couples? “Put love at the center of your day. None of the changes to our plans mattered in the end.”

With love and creativity in every detail, Aoife and John’s Belfast City Hall wedding was a beautiful reminder that sometimes the most meaningful celebrations are the ones where love takes center stage.

Croatian Traditions, Budget Spreadsheets, and a Dream Dress: A Unique Melbourne Wedding That Perfectly Reflected Both Partners

December 3, 2024 | justine

“My dress is more important than the styling.”

It might sound like an unusual mantra for a wedding, but for Alana and Paul, it became an iconic inside joke—so much so that they displayed it proudly on a fluted partition wall at their reception. This playful, cheeky attitude perfectly encapsulates who they are as a couple: fun, down-to-earth, and unapologetically themselves. Their unique Melbourne wedding wasn’t just a celebration of their love—it was a creative expression of their personalities, with pops of color, heartfelt traditions, and unforgettable memories.

Alana’s journey to finding the dress started on a trip to Sydney with her Maid of Honor, Emma. “We went to see the other love of my life, Harry Styles, perform, and while we were there, I tried on some dresses. Of course, the minute I tried on this very dress, I knew it was the one,” Alana recalls. Unbeknownst to her, however, the dress was almost double the cost Paul had forecasted in his budget. “When I realized this, I knew I’d have to do my best negotiation work to lock it in.” Fast forward a couple of months, and Alana pulled it off. “While I would say I did some of my best negotiating at that time, Paul would say I just turned on the waterworks to my advantage,” she laughs.

Curating their wedding vibe was a creative journey led by Alana’s vision. “I told Paul to trust me, and I’m so glad he did!” But while Alana was dreaming up bold ideas, Paul was making sure everything stayed on track with his infamous budget spreadsheet. “Every dollar was accounted for,” Alana laughs. “If there was a cent to be saved, Paul knew exactly where it was!” Paul also played a big part in ensuring they stayed on budget, even giving Alana a pep talk before one of their styling meetings, reminding her that they absolutely can’t exceed their wedding budget. “I may have gotten carried away with some of the ideas, but Paul kept us grounded in the best possible way.”

The moment they stepped into The Trust, the ornate Art Deco details had them hooked. Its timeless beauty meant the venue needed minimal styling, making it the perfect canvas for their bold yet elegant aesthetic. The venue’s rich history allowed them to focus on their creative touches, like the striking color palette they’d chosen—a vibrant mix of ultramarine blue, bright pink, and chrome. This palette, inspired by a set of coasters at Alana’s in-laws’ home, was a bold yet harmonious choice that came to life with the help of The Goodsmiths expertise.

Ahead, discover how Alana and Paul pulled off their one-of-a-kind wedding and relive their day through the lens of Art of Grace.

One of Alana’s standout moments was the pre-party before the first look and ceremony—a heartfelt nod to Croatian wedding traditions she had been looking forward to her whole life. Nearly 80 friends and family gathered at her family home to kick off the celebrations with food, dancing, live music, and rakija (a traditional Croatian spirit). For Alana, this wasn’t just a party; it was a cherished family tradition that brought generations together in pure joy and excitement.

“The energy was unmatched,” Alana shares. “Michael Pinjuh’s piano accordion performance and my big entrance were moments I’ll cherish forever. I reckon I could have cried, but I just had so much joy and happiness rushing through my body that I could only smile and laugh.” With everyone singing, dancing, and toasting to the couple, it set the tone for the rest of the day—a warm, love-filled celebration that perfectly reflected Alana’s vibrant personality and deep-rooted connection to her heritage. “It was the best kind of warm-up for the day ahead,” she adds.

The first look was an emotional highlight for the couple, giving them a chance to connect before the ceremony. “We’re so glad we did it,” Alana reflects. “Paul wasn’t thrilled about being the center of attention, so it helped calm our nerves and made the ceremony even more special.”

Their ceremony, officiated by Natalie Drum, was heartfelt and sprinkled with humor. Instead of writing personal vows, they entrusted Natalie to tell their story—and she nailed it. “She captured our relationship so perfectly that nothing else was needed,” Alana says. Two special people served as witnesses during the registry signing, adding a personal and meaningful touch.

The reception at The Trust was a treat for both the eyes and the heart. Long tables adorned with taper candles and thoughtfully placed centerpieces created a warm, inviting atmosphere. DJ Josh from Married to the Groove set the perfect tone, transitioning from funky disco beats during cocktail hour to big band classics during dinner.

Their reception featured the iconic statement “My dress is more important than the styling,” proudly displayed on a fluted partition wall. This lighthearted touch perfectly captured Alana and Paul’s playful, no-fuss attitude toward their unique Melbourne wedding, where the focus was on their wedding day priorities and laughing along the way.

And when it came to the details, Paul’s budget spreadsheet played a starring role. “It was everything,” Alana recalls. “Paul had a spreadsheet for the spreadsheet. He tracked every cent, which made my wild ideas feel like they had a solid foundation!” While Alana’s creative vision took center stage, Paul’s meticulous budget planning ensured that they could pull off a dream wedding without overspending. It was this combination of creativity and precision that made their wedding day feel like a seamless, unforgettable experience.

This vintage wedding cake is a fun and cheeky nod to their personalities, perfectly showing off their down-to-earth vibe and unapologetically unique style as a couple at their unique Melbourne wedding.

In a fun twist, Alana and Paul ditched the traditional first dance and opened the floor with Justin Bieber’s “Beauty and a Beat.” “We just wanted everyone to have fun, be well-fed, and enjoy every detail,” Alana shares. And they did—guests are still raving about the seamless planning and unforgettable atmosphere, thanks to their incredible team of vendors.

For Alana and Paul, their unique Melbourne wedding wasn’t just a party—it was an authentic reflection of their love, their quirks, and the life they’ve built together. “Plan a wedding that speaks to you as a couple,” Alana advises. “Forget trends and outside opinions. This is your day. Don’t sweat the small stuff; nobody cares about cutlery! Focus on what you’ll remember: great food, good music, and moments that feel like you. And negotiate hard for the things that matter—like your dream dress!”

This Couple Flew Their Hometown Pastor to Florence for a Heartfelt Italian Destination Wedding

November 30, 2024 | justine

Davis and Michael’s heartfelt Italian destination wedding was a celebration of love, family, and tradition set in the breathtaking Villa Corsini. “We wanted a colorful yet sophisticated garden wedding, and the villa’s views of olive groves and vineyards made it the perfect choice,” the couple shared. Its close proximity to Florence made it even better, giving their guests plenty of nearby accommodation options and a short, scenic ride to the venue on the big day.

The ceremony was the heart of the celebration. “It was incredibly special,” they said. “Having our pastor from home marry us at our destination wedding, surrounded by our closest friends and family who traveled so far to be there, was something we’ll never forget.” With an altar framed by wildflowers and the rolling hills of Chianti in the distance, the couple exchanged vows in an intimate, personal ceremony that felt truly magical.

Working with Junebug vendor Giulia Alessandri, Davis and Michael brought their dream Italian wedding to life. Don’t stop now—see how they made their vision a reality and enjoy every gorgeous detail captured by Lenny Pellico.

The perfect way to kick off the day— the bride sharing a toast with her bridesmaids, champagne in hand, as they get ready together.

Meanwhile, the groom and his groomsmen are celebrating with a fun champagne spray in the picturesque garden, soaking in the joy of the moment.

A truly special moment—the bride’s first look with her father. As she stepped into his sight, their emotional exchange captured the love and pride between them.

The ceremony setup was truly enchanting, with sweeping views providing a breathtaking backdrop. Surrounded by the venue’s natural beauty, the stunning scenery spoke for itself, requiring minimal décor. The altar, framed by ground wildflowers and complemented by ghost chairs, blended flawlessly with the manicured gardens, allowing the landscape to truly take center stage.

Davis designed many of the stationery pieces herself, including the save-the-dates, invitations, programs, and menus, which seamlessly tied into the overall decor

“Our pastor from Kentucky flew all the way to Florence to marry us, which made the moment even more meaningful,” the couple recalled. To make their heartfelt Italian destination wedding even more special, they invited their immediate families to the altar to share a prayer over their marriage.

After the ceremony, the bride and groom wandered the grounds, taking some time to snap portraits in the gorgeous setting.

The reception continued the garden theme inside the ornate banquet hall, where two long tables were adorned with lush florals and soft candlelight.

“During the dinner, we included a small Limoncello shot at each place setting to embrace Italian culture,” they said. “We also added Louis Sherry chocolates from New York to bring a bit of American charm to our guests since we live in NYC!”

Obsessed with this stunning table setting? Bring it to life with BRIOUT Gold Tableware, Godinger Gold Rimmed Wine Glasses, and Goldinger Gold Banded Glasses!

In keeping with Italian tradition, Davis and Michael served a millefoglie wedding cake—and even decorated it themselves! This personal, hands-on touch brought a playful vibe to their reception and made it feel even more special.

Fireworks lit up the sky, setting the stage for an unforgettable Italian destination wedding as guests gathered to dance, celebrate, and enjoy the night.

Looking back, Davis and Michael’s advice for couples planning their own destination weddings? “Planning from abroad can be a challenge, but with the right planner, it’s absolutely worth it,” they shared. “Our day was a dream come true, and we couldn’t have done it without Giulia Alessandri and our amazing vendors.”

This Couple Embraced the Unexpected During their Vibrant, Chinese Zodiac-Inspired Wedding

November 26, 2024 | justine

Andrew and Tim’s wedding was all about celebrating their cultural heritage and the unique bond that brought them together. Drawing inspiration from their Chinese zodiac signs—Andrew’s Wood Ox and Tim’s Fire Tiger—their design blended meaningful symbolism with modern elegance. “Our wedding was inspired by a desire to celebrate cultural diversity and heritage,” the couple shares. “The aisle symbolized the union of wood and fire, and we extended this theme into the reception with fiery overhead designs contrasted by earth tones.”

For the venue, they chose the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, the ideal mix of mountains and beach. “It felt like the perfect place for us,” the pair says. “The resort had a secluded vibe, but it was still easy for our guests to get to. It was exactly the kind of relaxed yet elegant atmosphere we wanted.”

Looking back, the couple feels their wedding was a beautiful mix of their personalities and cultures. “Everything had a personal touch,” they say. They’re also proud of how they brought friends and family from all over the world to celebrate with them. “It was such an accomplishment to pull off a wedding with so many loved ones.”

Andrew and Tim’s vision for a deeply personal celebration that honored their backgrounds came to life in every detail, from the traditional tea ceremony and zodiac-inspired décor. Keep reading to see how Kailash Wedding beautifully captured their truly one-of-a-kind big day.

Instead of a formal wedding party, the couple kept it low-key by spending their morning with close friends and family. “We didn’t want to give anyone extra responsibilities, especially with a destination wedding,” they explain. So, they invited loved ones to join them during their getting-ready sessions. Tim kicked things off with champagne and a game of mahjong, while Andrew’s sister surprised him with soju shots. “It kept everything relaxed and fun, but still meaningful,” they share.

For their wedding attire, the grooms wore matching white tuxedo jackets. The coordinated jackets made them look unified, adding a sophisticated, refined touch to their special day.

The ceremony beautifully blended symbolism and style, with every detail thoughtfully chosen to honor their Chinese zodiac-inspired wedding theme. The aisle, symbolizing the union of wood and fire, led to a stunning altar that looked like flames rising from the ground, surrounded by bold, lush florals.

The reception was brought to life with a sweeping, curvy overhead installation cascading across the ceiling, drawing guests’ eyes toward the couple’s table and tying the entire room together. Combined with the fiery color palette of the florals and decor,  it was the perfect way to bring their Chinese Zodiac-inspired wedding vision to life, creating a vibe that was both intimate and grand.

A highlight of the evening was the couple’s reentrance, kicked off by a lion dance. It was a fun, energetic moment that really got everyone pumped up and added to the night’s excitement.

The couple gave guests handmade con thổi tò he, traditional Vietnamese clay blow toys shaped like each guest’s Chinese zodiac animal. “We wanted to give something special that celebrated Vietnamese craftsmanship and honored our culture,” the couple explains. The tò he figures represented playfulness and artistic tradition, tying perfectly into the wedding’s theme of meaningful symbolism. “It was a way for us to give our guests a special piece of the day to take home.”

For their first dance, the couple recreated a playful rainstorm from their pre-wedding photoshoot, complete with umbrellas and a confetti shower. It was a fun, meaningful moment that added a creative twist to their dance, symbolizing how they face life’s challenges together.

When reflecting on their big day, the couple finds it hard to pick just one favorite moment. “So many things were meaningful.” They agree that each part of the day “captured the heart of our celebration.”

As for advice to other couples, they recommend staying true to who you are as a couple. “Incorporating personal and cultural elements made our wedding feel really meaningful,” they share. They also encourage couples to have fun and get creative: “Don’t be afraid to mix traditions with something unexpected—like we did with the lion dance and umbrellas!”

Finally, they emphasize the importance of trusting your planner and vendors. “Their experience can really bring your vision to life.” And above all, stay flexible: “Some of the best memories come from those unexpected moments, so embrace them—they’ll make your day even more unforgettable.”

Winter Wedding Centerpieces to Complete Your Reception

November 25, 2024 | marissa

Image by Jane Iskra. Design by Amulet Events

When putting together winter wedding centerpieces, you have more options than you might think. Winter brings its own magical charm, but it’s not exactly known for its abundant flora. You might think poinsettias and red roses are your only choices, but there’s a world of rich, jewel-toned flowers out there that are both beautiful and unique. The Junebug team especially loves the addition of anthurium, amaranth, or kiku into a centerpiece (quite the mouthful, but look them up—you’ll recognize them!).

And remember, winter centerpieces don’t have to be your standard floral arrangements in vases. Whether you’re drawn to timeless monochrome whites, rustic greenery, sparkling glass, or a mix of all three, winter centerpieces can bring that finishing touch to your reception decor. When styled thoughtfully, your tablescapes can add warmth, elegance, and that perfect wintery touch, transporting you and your guests to a wedding wonderland.

Our Favorite Winter Wedding Centerpieces

Statement Monochrome

Nothing says “winter magic” quite like a monochrome table decked in white. Imagine clouds of baby’s breath, delicate white blooms, and candles of varying heights and shapes, all in shades of off-white and soft cream. This look is simple but sophisticated. It’s a timeless choice that feels as romantic as the season itself.

Greenery

You can’t go wrong with greenery-centered centerpieces for a winter wedding. This look shines on farm tables, with garlands or foliage runners made of Norfolk pine, cedar, and spruce, bringing a nostalgic winter feel. Go with eucalyptus for a touch of modern farmhouse, or even moss to bring a mystical forest vibe right to your table. This style keeps things natural, simple, and completes the essence of winter.

Medley of Glass and Candles

Next, add a little sparkle and glow to your reception tables with a mix of crystal, glass, and candlelight. Use glass candle holders, vintage crystal pieces, and votives with softly flickering flames, all casting a magical glow. The play of light on glass gives that same romantic effect of delicate twinkle lights (a known crowd favorite.)

Bold Blooms with Winter Greens

Winter weddings bring to mind evergreens, and we love the look of hardy, needle-leaf greenery paired with soft, romantic blooms. Burgundy, crimson, and classic white florals—such as ranunculus, anemone, and lilies —add softness and warmth to the crisp winter greenery, creating a striking contrast that feels lush and fresh. Mixing these textures is a beautiful way to bring winter colors to life.

Dried Flowers and Branches

If you’re picturing a winter wedding with a boho touch, dried flowers and/or branches can bring it all together. Go with soft beige florals like strawflowers and preserved roses, paired with pampas grass, bunny tails, and amaranthus for earthy texture and subtle color. This muted palette feels just right for winter and pairs beautifully with any other colors you might want to add as accents.

A Little Bit of Everything

Can’t settle on just one style? Or are you looking for a really showstopping, one-of-a-kind centerpiece? Take a little inspiration from all of the above! We’ve seen breathtaking centerpieces that combine elements from all these winter themes— garlands with pops of colorful flowers or berries, a few white roses for softness, and pops of glass and candlelight to add sparkle. This layered approach creates a rich, dynamic look that’s full of texture.
