From the awe-inspiring venue to the stunning arrangements and chic attire, this dreamy event had everything they could ever hope for and more. What made it even more impressive? They planned the entire event themselves!

They made their dream big day come true with flawless execution. And what a setting they chose! The historic estate, with its lavish interiors, provided the perfect backdrop. The bold ballroom ceremony space was adorned with breathtaking florals, creating an enchanting atmosphere for their vow exchange. Transforming the same space for the reception, lush blooms, greenery, and candles graced the tables were added for an ultra-romantic and whimsical touch.

If you’re dreaming of a classic celebration filled with timeless details and personal touches that reflect your unique style as a couple, this Gleneagles Hotel wedding is the perfect inspiration. Junebug vendor Ricky Baillie beautifully captured every moment of this breathtaking day, and we’re thrilled to share it with you here.

The Couple:

Domenique and Nick

The Wedding:

Gleneagles Hotel, Scotland

Why They Chose to Have a Gleneagles Hotel Wedding

Gleneagles hold a special place in both of our hearts. It was where we shared our first overnight stay together, and since then, we’ve made it a tradition to visit every year. It’s a place filled with cherished memories, making it the perfect location for our wedding day.

QR Code Fun: How They Made Their Wedding Favors Interactive

We added a fun twist to our wedding favors by giving out cocktails in bottles with QR codes. When scanned, the codes led our guests to a hilarious video featuring our three-year-old, encouraging them to enjoy their drinks. It was a playful and memorable touch that had everyone laughing and enjoying the moment.

Elevating Their Ceremony with Personal Touches

We wrote our own vows, pouring our hearts into each word, and took our time selecting a celebrant who would truly match our personalities. Andrew D. Scott, our celebrant, exceeded our expectations, bringing warmth and understanding to our ceremony that perfectly reflected who we are as a couple.

From Start to Finish: Embracing Every Moment of Their Special Day

We dedicated a lot of time to infuse our wedding with our personalities, making sure every detail reflected who we are. It truly felt like “us” in every way. The entire day was simply breathtaking, from the beginning to the end. Surprisingly, we found ourselves at the end of the night realizing how much quality time we had spent together. Unlike many couples who feel they didn’t have enough time, we cherished every moment together throughout the day.

The Perfect Collaboration: Organizing Their Wedding Together

Taking charge of the entire event ourselves was quite an adventure. We maintained high energy levels throughout the day, ensuring everything ran smoothly. Organizing the entire event felt like the perfect amount of diy for us. We collaborated on every decision and were both pleased with every choice we made together.

You’re Not Going to Want to Miss This Summer Camp Come to Life Wisconsin Wedding

June 17, 2024 | justine

Tori and Jared had a clear vision for their big day: a celebration of their love and the cherished community that surrounded them. With this in mind, they curated every detail with care, ensuring that each element reflected their deep gratitude to their loved ones. Opting for a summer camp Wisconsin wedding, they transformed their celebration into an immersive experience, brimming with unique touches and heartfelt gestures that left everyone feeling not just invited but truly valued and cherished.

For their greenhouse forest ceremony, the couple exchanged vows under a beautiful canopy of trees. This was followed by an atrium reception adorned with romantic floral arrangements and the soft glow of candles and string lights. Later, they danced the night away, transitioning to a lively silent disco that kept the celebration going strong.

With overall guiding themes of “Velvet & Glass,” “Kayaking & Canoeing,” and “Minnesota Love,” the pair truly pulled out all the stops for their wedding. Captured beautifully by Junebug vendor J. Olson Weddings, their Wisconsin wedding is filled with creative, steal-worthy ideas that made the day unforgettable for everyone involved.

The Couple:

Tori and Jared

The Wedding:

The Atrium, Solon Springs, Wisconsin, United States

Navigating Wedding Planning with Gratitude For Their Loved Ones

Despite occasional decision fatigue and overwhelming choices, we focused on our north star of “community first.” A wedding is as much about the couple as it is about the community supporting them. Prioritizing our community helped us manage planning stress and keep our loved ones’ happiness in mind. Our guiding themes were “Velvet & Glass,” “Kayaking & Canoeing,” and “Minnesota Love.” With these themes, we organized special events for early arrivals, created a memorial station built by my father, displayed framed artwork with a family tree vibe, and set up a private booth for personal recordings. Guided by gratitude, we opened our prep rooms in the morning, leading to an unforgettable day filled with meaningful experiences.

How Their Vows at The Atrium Symbolized Community Connection

The Atrium’s Greenhouse offers a magical forest ceremony location, complete with oak forest aisles and railroad tie seating for a fairy tale atmosphere, weather permitting. One memorable moment was the birds singing in the trees. I surprised Jared with a secret rendition of “All I Want is You” from Juno, performed by our live guitarist during the aisle song, which almost brought him to tears. Our vows focused on gratitude towards our community, acknowledging that our celebration wouldn’t have been possible without their love and support. We pledged to include and support them beyond this day, emphasizing that we’re all together.

Navigating Wedding Day Surprises with Grace and Gratitude

Our advice: have a plan, but also be open to letting it go for spontaneous moments of beauty. As they say, “Surround yourself with people who plan in decades but live in moments.” Enjoy the planning process, but if it becomes overwhelming, trust that your loved ones will make the day everything it needs to be and more.

How Their Summer Camp Wisconsin Wedding Venue Mirrored Their Upbringing and Passions

We wanted a venue that wasn’t just beautiful and available but also represented our backgrounds. Jared grew up on a Community-Supported Agriculture (CSA) farm cultivating flowers and vegetables. While studying forestry, I was raised camping, portaging, and canoeing. We pondered how to merge these two aspects to reflect ourselves in the space. When we discovered a greenhouse with a forest as a ceremony space, we knew we had found a needle in a haystack, a true gem symbolizing the places we call home.

Creating a Personalized Celebration Without a Traditional Party

We didn’t have a traditional wedding party. Instead, I created roles tailored to my relationships. These included “Dress Queen” for dress research and styling on the day, “Party Queen” in charge of the bachelorette party, and “Mission Control” handling behind-the-scenes needs. Friends stepped up for these roles, recognizing the non-traditional approach. This flexible arrangement relieved pressure from a singular maid of honor or best man. Without formal parties, friends and family came and went from our suite as they pleased, creating a relaxed atmosphere. As an introvert, I appreciated having loved ones nearby during prep. Moments like the “Dress Queen” gifting a book of letters from meaningful people emerged organically. Opening the morning to all guests allowed for unexpected, memorable moments and candid photos.

Empowering Family Members to Create Meaningful Decor at Their Summer Camp Wisconsin Wedding

We didn’t personally DIY anything, as we trusted our wedding venue experts and lacked crafty skills. However, many family members were skilled in crafts, so we empowered them to bring their vision to life with art installations and floral arrangements. Even if we hadn’t liked the flowers (which we did!), they would have still represented our loved ones, which was most important to us. Additionally, we found a local seamstress to create colorful velvet table runners, adding a vibrant touch to our decor.

Unique Favors at Their Summer Camp Wisconsin Wedding Celebrating Their Themes and Family Heritage

Our favors were small, local hot sauce bottles with a sewn patch with our wedding emblem from our father’s artwork installation. Our theme of “Minnesota Love” got to shine with the local hot sauce, and the other theme of “Kayaking & Canoeing” got to shine in the patches for friends and family to sew on their many backpacks or outdoor gear.

This Pepe’s Italian and Liquor Wedding Will Have You Wanting to Tie the Knot at Your Favorite Restaurant

June 14, 2024 | justine

Sarah and Emile dreamed of an effortless, fun wedding bursting with love and a whole lot of dancing. Their dream became a reality when they discovered the perfect venue fit for their desired wedding vibe and aesthetic. The restaurant’s mid-20th-century design and Amalfi coast theme provided the ideal backdrop. With the addition of meaningful personal touches and stunning florals, their Pepe’s Italian and Liquor wedding transformed into the ultimate celebration, making their big day truly unforgettable.

The New York-inspired restaurant was crucial in bringing the pair’s vision to life. The pink color palette inspired by the bride’s shoes and crawling florals framing the windows created a stunning ceremony altar for their vow exchange. For the reception, colorful arrangements adorned every corner of the space, adding an extra pop of personality. The romantic atmosphere was palpable as the couple and their guests enjoyed a night of joyous celebration and merriment.

If you love modern style with a touch of sophistication, you’ll be mesmerized by these beautiful photos by Junebug vendor Na Lia Weddings. Check out these unique restaurant wedding ideas and see how couples make their big day special in their own way.

The Couple:

Sarah and Emile

The Wedding:

Pepe’s Italian and Liquor, Melbourne, Australia

The Story Behind Their Pepe’s Italian and Liquor Wedding

The styling was mainly done DIY through Canva on late nights after work, but it was all inspired once we found our fantastic venue. The venue was inspired by mid-20th-century New York and had an Amalfi coast theme at the time. All our extra styling and decisions about flowers came after seeing the venue. We wanted to celebrate our love with an amazing, love-filled night of dancing. Pepe’s spirits shelves behind the bar and the Amalfi styling were so perfectly styled that all we added were some small touches and beautiful florals.

How the Bride’s Shoes Inspired Their Wedding Color Palette

Our key colors were pink which started when I found my pink shoes. The venue then also had pink so that helped. Our florist was incredibly helpful in bringing much of our vision to life with the florals. Her signature style does not include foliage, which meant the florals had so much color. We chose to have our bridesmaids in emerald green to complement the flowers.

Honoring Loved Ones with DIY Signage and Meaningful Wedding Favors

We made all of the signage ourselves on Canva, and my mum organized the wedding favors. Both of my grandmothers passed away within six months before my wedding. We thought of a beautiful way to honor them both by gifting small parcels of parsley seeds that one of my grandmothers had been cultivating her whole life. We presented them in a small vintage suitcase owned by my other grandmother.

A Culinary Journey Through Italian-Inspired Wedding Menu

Our menu was an Italian-themed cocktail with samples of meats, cheeses, and pizza on the menu—as well as some crowd favorites of small cocktail bites. We had wine, beer, cider, and spirits. We also had two cocktails on the menu all night: Aperol Spritz and Tommy Margaritas.

Dancing Through Decades: A Playlist Spanning Generations

We had a real mix of tunes that everyone of all ages could dance to, from David Bowie to Top Loader to The Beatles to Beyonce. We also had the Tarantella, an Italian wedding song.

Honoring Loved Ones: Finding Meaningful Ways to Include Them in Their Special Day

We lost my father-in-law a few years before our wedding, and that was super difficult. However, finding different ways to honor him throughout the day felt special—an Essendon scarf on a chair dedicated to him, choosing his favorite songs and pictures of him, and talking about him in our vows and speech was hard. Still, it was lovely to honor such a beautiful man.

Review: Nat and Kerstin are two of the most talented photographers I’ve ever met. They’ve photographed my engagement shoot, wedding, maternity, and now newborn photos, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. What I love most is their ability to capture candid moments, make us feel comfortable (even my husband, who doesn’t love being photographed), and ALWAYS keep you laughing, which makes for the best photos! Love you two, thanks for capturing all of my most precious moments!”

My partner and I are so happy to have gone with him as our wedding day photographer. He is professional and patient and encouraged us to be natural and comfortable during our photo sessions. He has a great eye for scoping out locations and framing photos to make ordinary spots look cinematic. Having worked with them before, I was able to experience their professionalism, care for couples, easy-going attitudes, and amazing talent firsthand. The galleries that they would produce were beautiful and timeless and captured the essence of the weddings in a way that felt natural and real. So when it came to our engagement shoot and wedding, I was once again in awe of the way that they put us both at ease and captured who we are as a couple. We are so grateful to have such beautiful photos that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. Thank you, Danaea and Silas, for being a part of this milestone season of our life together and we couldn’t imagine sharing the experience with any other photographers.”

Ronnie’s work is NOT your cookie-cutter wedding photography- she plays with light and composition in a way that makes your wedding feel editorial and glamorous yet natural and romantic. Not only is her photography exemplary, the way she made my usually camera shy partner laugh and be comfortable in front of her camera was great and allowed us to get some wonderful, natural shots. This ESMDM Wedding is the Definition of Romantic

May 30, 2024 | justine

Selecting the ideal venue for your special day is essential as it establishes the tone for the entire celebration. It influences everything from the color palette and decor to the overall ambiance, as seen in Maria and Jesus’ ESMDM wedding. They imagined their day to exude a blend of bohemian and romantic vibes, with only their nearest and dearest in attendance. With a historical and enchanting venue adorned with abundant florals and flickering candles, they undeniably achieved their vision perfectly!

At their church ceremony, the altar was adorned with delicate blooms, creating a dreamy backdrop for their heartfelt vows. But the floral magic didn’t end there. In the courtyard reception afterward, the space was decked out with lush arrangements and surrounded by the soft glow of overflowing candles, transforming the entire celebration into a magical storybook scene.

The combination of special touches and the breathtaking setting truly made this event unforgettable. Explore all the beautiful moments and unique details from this romantic celebration through the captivating photos captured by Junebug vendor Adriana Foto.

The Couple:

Maria and Jesus

The Wedding:

ESMDM, Mexico

How They Turned a Former School into a Magical Setting

The vibe we aimed for our wedding blended bohemian and romantic. Our venue was an old school built 50 years ago, now repurposed as an art and music school. It exudes an old yet magical atmosphere. It’s not a closed space; it boasts an open roof, perfect for hanging decorations above the guests. In Monterrey, we have many wedding venues to choose from, but our choice for the venue was a no-brainer. While it’s not the most economical option, it holds a magical appeal. Originally constructed and utilized as a school for many years, it exudes both history and beauty. Presently, the building serves as an art school but is available for weekend weddings. It carries an old yet romantic ambiance, particularly enchanting when illuminated at night.

Their ESMDM Wedding Budget Strategy: Booking Essentials First, Bargaining Second”

We didn’t really create a budget; instead, we began by booking all the major and essential items like the venue, dinner, DJ, photographer, and decorations. Whenever we received an invoice for something we found expensive, we searched for other vendors offering more budget-friendly options. We spent much time researching and didn’t leave everything to the wedding planner. Our budget was approximately $80,000. We didn’t compromise on certain aspects but invested time in finding less expensive alternatives. Many vendors provide excellent service without charging exorbitant prices. We prioritized the essential elements and sought the most cost-effective options for the less crucial aspects.

Handcrafted Wedding Menus: A Labor of Love and Attention to Detail

We meticulously crafted the entire food menu ourselves. We designed it and conducted numerous trials using various cloth materials. Once we settled on the design and material we favored, we printed over 300 menus, individually hand-cutting each one. We carefully removed the fabric from each side to achieve an antique look, transforming them into charming old cloth menus.

Adding a Personal Touch to Their Wedding Tables

We created stickers featuring things we liked and printed many of them, placing them on each table. Additionally, we distributed personalized bottles to each guest, adorned with their respective names. Guests then adorned their bottles with the stickers, resulting in a uniquely customized touch. The bottles served as drink containers throughout the night, equipped with lids and straws to prevent spills while dancing and moving around. As for wedding favors, we opted for a special gesture: Maria’s best friend, Analuz Gutierrez, a remarkably talented singer, serenaded us during dinner. Witnessing Analuz perform at our wedding was a truly unforgettable moment for us.

Planning a ESMDM Wedding That Reflects Who You Are

The only advice we have is just to be yourself! Include all the things you love in your wedding. Don’t worry about what the guests will think or what they will like—it’s your special day, and everyone will enjoy it. Dress how you want, serve food you enjoy, and play the music you love. Enjoy every moment, and make decisions together with your partner. We believe we created a unique wedding; we put a lot of time and effort into all the little details. The most important part of planning our wedding was ensuring it was unique and included everything we loved. From the food we enjoyed to the places where guests could take pictures, the great music, and drinks, we focused on what we loved rather than necessarily what the guests would like. We concentrated on the details so everyone would remember that night.

How DIY Touches and a Special Officiant Made Their Park Chateau Wedding Personal to the Couple

We were so nervous that everything would be executed as we envisioned it because we had truly DIYed every aspect of our wedding and coordinated that vision with our vendors. Our favorite part was marrying one another. Nick and I have been together almost nine years after meeting in college. We had envisioned walking down that aisle and seeing one another for the first time for so long. The rabbi who married us has known me my whole life. He did my baby naming, was there for our family in joyous and challenging times, and truly took the time to get to know Nick. Under the chuppah, we kept squeezing each other’s hands, smiling and whispering, “I love you.” It felt so real and personal. We felt like our guests could see how much we loved each other and how excited we were.

Handcrafted Details That Brought Their Wedding Vision to Life

We are definitely most proud of the details. We planned andmade mood boards and PowerPoints for months and months while planning this day. We built every single piece of decor and signage ourselves in our home and even some in our tiny NYC apt before we moved. All our friends and family thought we were in over our heads. Nick and I love to dream, create, and come up with unique ideas, and we have done precisely that for our day. You can see it in the details of all our decor!

Navigating Wedding Planning on a Budget

Nick and I were definitely on a budget when it came to the wedding. I had just finished my medical residency and started working as an Emergency Room Attending Physician, which meant a lot of loans from schooling. We’d also just bought a new home to start a family. We did a great job prioritizing what mattered most and making our money stretch. We made our invitations, spending hours distressing paper, watercolor painting each one, and adding ribbon and wax seals before sending them out. We became experts at DIY projects, from building structures to repurposing items from the bridal shower. Nick’s engineering skills came in handy. Instead of hiring a designer or wedding planner, we did it all, drawing up countless design ideas until everything was perfect. We knew photography was essential, so we didn’t skimp there. Our florist was great at helping us make wise choices with our budget, focusing on critical areas for impact. My cousin’s band, Cause and the Effects, played at our wedding, giving us a family discount. They were terrific, providing live music with their versatile repertoire throughout the event.

How the Bride Kept Her Park Chateau Wedding Look a Secret Until the Aisle

Choosing a dress was a real challenge for me. Having done some bridal modeling before, I had tried on various dresses, but I wanted to find the perfect one for my wedding day. I decided on two, knowing I couldn’t settle on just one style. I also wanted to keep my look a surprise for Nick until I walked down the aisle, which made photos before the ceremony tricky. So, I devised a unique idea: wearing one dress for pictures and changing just before the aisle walk. Only my mom knew about this surprise, keeping everyone else guessing. Nick’s style is simple, traditional, and classic, so I aimed for that during the ceremony with a twist. I was fortunate to meet one of Rita Vinieris’ designers after COVID-19, who made me a custom design, adding a modern, pointed, strapless neckline to a stunning satin dress with a beautiful back adorned with buttons. For my second dress, worn mainly at the reception, I chose a fitted lace gown with intricate applique made by Marina Farbinni, personalized to perfection. For a party look, inspired by my mom’s chic gauntlets from her wedding, I opted for a sleek short dress with a high neck, paired with Loeffler Randall white heels featuring bows, and surprised her by wearing her lace gauntlets. It was such a fun and memorable ensemble.

Transforming a Ballroom Into a Secret Garden Wonderland

One standout feature was the crossing arches adorning the main tables, where flowers cascaded and climbed over, creating a garden-like ambiance down the center. We aimed for height with our florals to add unique flair, opting for a design that stood out from traditional weddings. Our band’s stage was transformed into a living garden, complete with boxes we built, adorned with rattan hanging lights wrapped in vines and flowers. Incorporating our new last name, “Wright,” into our decor became a playful theme: “Welcome, you’re WRIGHT where you belong,” greeted guests, while “WRIGHT this way” guided them to their seats, and “Drinks coming WRIGHT up” beckoned them to the bar. Even our first dance was a labor of love, choreographed to John Legend’s “Conversations in the Dark” after nights of practicing on our checkered dining room floor. We wanted our bridesmaids’ bouquets to evoke the feeling of freshly picked flowers, so we collaborated with our florist to create stunning arrangements in wicker bags. Every detail was chosen with purpose, reflecting our love and intention behind every element of our special day.

Whimsical Gardens Meets Black Tie Affair at This Lotos Club Wedding

May 11, 2024 | justine

Jessica and Brian’s Lotos Club wedding embodied the essence of a timeless celebration. With its picturesque venue, abundant blooms and greenery, classic color palette, and chic attire, their special day had all the ingredients of a dreamy wedding. It was a perfect blend of whimsical garden charm and sophisticated black-tie elegance, creating a truly magical atmosphere for their guests to enjoy.

The ceremony unfolded in the Tennyson Room, where the sparkling chandeliers and intricate window details set the stage. After sharing heartfelt vows, everyone gathered in the Ballroom for the reception, which was transformed into a magical wonderland that brought the beauty of the outdoors inside. Soft lighting, elegant table settings, and stunning florals and greenery adorned the space, creating an atmosphere of pure enchantment. As the night progressed, guests danced the night away in the cozy ambiance of the library.

Thanks to Junebug florist Laura Clare Design,  it had everything they could have hoped for and more. If you’ve been envisioning a classically romantic affair filled with timeless details and personal touches, then this is the perfect inspiration for you. Luckily, Michelle Scott beautifully captured this breathtaking day. These stunning photos are filled with ideas that will never go out of style.

The Couple:

Jessica and Brian

The Wedding:

Lotos Club, New York, United States

Creating Three Modern Yet Timeless Wedding Looks

I had an entire inspiration board for a modern, drapey silk charmeuse dress. I wanted a dress that felt sophisticated since I work in fashion, yet one that would fit in with the old-world aesthetic of Lotos Club. I wore my grandma’s vintage diamond and pearl earrings, my mom’s diamond necklace, and Loeffler Randall shoes. I also added a pair of custom sleeves to my dress to give it an edge. After the ceremony, I changed into a pair of Vera Wang lace sleeves. My after-party dress was a short, sparkly Johnathan Simhkai with sparkly Prada mules. My husband wore a custom-made suit from the notorious Martin Greenfield, which was midnight navy and Magnanni Tuxedo shoes.

Hand-Painted Details Created by the Bride

We hosted an intimate secret garden black-tie affair wedding. Picture enchanted details at every turn—from the fully watercolor invitation suites to the handmade watercolor menus adorned with hand-applied custom crest wax-sealed satin bows. Each romantic detail contributed to the nuanced romantic atmosphere. Every table number was illustrated and placed upon a mossy patch inside of a cloche. The tablecloths were hand-painted, and the napkins were custom-printed. Each hand-painted element, as well as the entire wedding design itself, was imagined and created by me, who is a designer and illustrator.

Discovering Old-World Charm: The Story Behind Their Wedding Venue

Although we initially sought a modern venue, our search led us to the enchanting old-world charm of The Lotos Club in New York City’s Upper East Side. Serendipity brought us here one day while wandering the neighborhood, and we were immediately captivated by its intricate charm, ornate architectural details, and elegant grand piano. Our wedding celebrated with our 75 closest friends and family members was beyond extraordinary—a perfect-sized gathering for a magical affair.

How Jessica Used Her Background in Design to Make Their Lotos Club Wedding Unique

At our wedding, everything was handmade and custom-designed, reflecting our personal touch throughout the event. I took on the task of creating all the branding and design elements myself. From the charming place cards with illustrations and keys to the elegant invitations, save the dates, and menus adorned with custom illustrations and sealed with bows, every detail was crafted with care. I also made the drink menus, signage, programs, party favors, packaging, table numbers, and even the tablecloths by hand. Each element contributed to the cohesive and unique design that made our wedding day truly special.

Her confidence, experience, and style show through in every photo that she takes. Not only was she making sure to get each important picture, but she was also helping pin boutonnieres, bringing the groom his very special letter, and guiding us through filling out our marriage license. She makes sure to get to know each couple and their family to be able to capture the best candid moments. She nailed every single shot, and I have pictures of every single one of my guests. Not a moment was missed. Her professionalism and communication are simply outstanding. She made sure I knew exactly where she was going to be and when, and she worked beautifully with my vendors, all while being a fly on the wall. 9. Hennessy Photo Co

Photography style: Alternative documentary

Good for: The former emo kids

Review: “Steph is amazing! She was one of the first vendors we knew we needed to reach out to. She made us feel like our weird wedding ideas were perfect because they were, for us. She is all about doing your own thing with your wedding day. She is great at making even the most awkward people feel good in front of the camera (hi, it’s us), and it really felt like we were just hanging out with a friend who happened to be taking awesome pictures at the same time. It was great to do our engagement photos with her beforehand as well, which were included so we could all get to know each other. Steph was also really helpful in figuring out our schedule for the day–ask her for help with that! Our photos turned out amazing, and we’re so happy we went with her.”

10. Madeline J Studios

Photography style: Documentary photojournalism

Good for: Couples who want every small, candid moment captured

Review: ” I can’t say enough wonderful things about Maddy. She is an incredibly talented photographer and the kindest human. We were so grateful to have her take both our engagement and wedding photos, and we were thrilled with the results. She made us feel at ease on our wedding day, and it truly felt like she was there as our friend. She helped us develop (and stick to) our wedding timeline, and she captured so many sweet and special moments throughout the day. We feel so lucky to have found Maddy and HIGHLY recommend her to everyone. She is truly delightful, and her photography is magic!

11. Mikayla Renee Photo

Photography style: Classic documentary

Good for: Couples who want to capture the beauty of the mountains as much as they want portraits

Review: “Fun fact: I chose to elope in Colorado solely because I found Mikayla’s page online and knew she was exactly what I wanted for my wedding day. She made all of my elopement/micro-wedding dreams come true. The entire experience with Mikayla was so effortless and my wedding day was the easiest day, because she is SO GOOD at what she does. 10/10 cannot recommend her enough!”

12. Justyna E Butler Photography

Photography style: Cinematic documentary

Good for: Couples who want to get up and enjoy the sunrise

Review: “Not often do you find a photographer who is willing to leave her home at 3 AM, all in the name of capturing the best sunrise light for your special day – that was my first indicator of just how passionate Justyna is about her work. She is one of the most calming and encouraging souls I have had the pleasure of meeting. She was relaxed throughout our entire day and encouraged my husband and me to be the same way regardless of the environment we were shooting in. She takes time to be genuine and embrace every moment – even the unexpected ones! She is the perfect balance of spontaneous and someone who puts your mind at ease. She was so well prepared for everything during our day. My husband and I, being from Kansas, are not accustomed to the chilly mountaintop temperatures of CO. She encouraged us to get out of our comfort zone, yet also prioritized “breaks” to go back to our car and warm up! When I think about my special day with Mark, all I can say is there was so much joy and love in everything we did. Justyna was absolutely a catalyst for that joy, and I wouldn’t have wanted anyone else to join us on our adventure”

13. Hughes Photo Co.

Photography style: High-fashion editorial

Good for: Couples who want photos that look like they belong in Vogue

Review: Christopher was the absolute best decision that my husband and I made for our wedding. Not only was he personable and caring, but he was also very respectful. He made our wedding day so memorable. He was so fun to work with during the pictures, and also behind the scenes. He even hyped me up on my wedding day and made me feel beautiful. Everyone had a blast, and he made us all feel so comfortable. 10 out of 10 would recommend having him. You will not regret it. I can’t wait to see how our wedding pictures turned out. I will never be able to thank him enough for all he did.”

14. McKenzie Bigliazzi Photography

Photography style: Alternative documentary

Good for: Couples who want to feel completely comfortable with who they are on their wedding day

Review: “We booked Kenzie as two brides, and when we finally met and had our special day, we were married as bride and groom. The amount of love, comfort, and acceptance that Kenzie provided to my husband, who is transgender, is as if we’ve been friends our entire lives. The talent, the love, the personality, the location, and finally, KENZIE herself!?! Come on…SAY LESS AND BOOK HER!”

15. In Love and Adventure

Photography style: Nature-inspired storytelling

Good for: Couples that want to run off and elope, just the two of them

Review:  “Planning a wedding is tough, but trying to plan a wedding out of state… even harder. This is where Kelly comes in. After finding her on Instagram, I just felt like she was exactly who we needed for our day. From our first call to our last check, I felt so much at ease knowing Kelly was helping plan our special day. Not only did the find the most epic location, but they helped us plan our timeline. I’m sure being an indecisive bride wasn’t the easiest for Kelly to manage, but she and Alex knocked our day out of the park. I felt like we just spent the day with two of our best friends. I can not recommend Kelly enough. 5 stars doesn’t even begin to cover how amazing she did”

This Couple Didn’t Let Rain Stop Them From Enjoying Their Cozy Marshwood Manor Wedding

April 30, 2024 | justine

Kat and Sam had a clear vision for their wedding: they wanted warmth, relaxation, and a vibe that everyone could connect with. Steering away from tradition, they opted for a cozy and informal affair. Choosing a venue tucked away in the countryside, enveloped by ancient woodland, they set the stage for their Marshwood Manor wedding. Overflowing with dreamy flowers, charming decor, and a romantic color palette, their day was nothing short of enchanting. Despite the rain catching them off guard–with the help of wedding planner Katie Avis–their plans fell into place effortlessly.

Underneath a canopy of woodland boughs, the couple exchanged vows surrounded by their nearest and dearest. As raindrops fell gently around them, it felt like a scene from a romantic movie. Following their rainy “I dos,” they moved on to a reception filled with rustic charm. The venue was adorned with lush greenery and elegant pampas installations gracing the charming tablescapes. String lights overhead tied everything together, creating a truly magical atmosphere.

Even with a bit of rain, they didn’t let it dampen their spirits. Thanks to Laura Dean’s expertly captured photos, you can witness how the rain added an extra layer of sweetness to their wedding memories.

The Couple:

Kat and Sam

The Wedding:

Marshwood Manor, Bettiscombe, Bridport, United Kingdom

Exchanging Vows Amidst Woodland Rain

Our ceremony was set in a woodland bower with a stream and logs for seating, so it was very unique and picturesque. We had a violinist who created a lovely atmosphere as guests arrived and throughout the ceremony. However, being a British wedding, even in July, you cannot guarantee a sunny day. Ten minutes before the ceremony started, the rain began to fall, and the whole ceremony was conducted in the rain. This made the moment memorable and even more special, with our first kiss being in the rain, something like out of a movie.

The Importance of Booking Suppliers Early

Start planning as early as possible! Book vendors as early as you can. If they are good, they will likely get booked up very quickly. Create a wedding timeline with key deadlines and to-do lists for when payments are due, etc. Get creative and make it your own day. Do it however you want, and don’t feel obliged to follow a stereotypical wedding.

How They Added Personality to Their Marshwood Manor Wedding With Small Playful Details

We spent so much time planning the wedding and added many little details that we loved. We had temporary tattoos for guests to show their support for us on our big day. All the guests, young and old, got involved, and it was a great conversation starter. My second outfit included personalized gloves embroidered with “Till Death Do Us Part – The Freemans.” We also added elements that were only noticeable for us but made it extra special, such as the band learning a lesser-known song that was special to us and Sam’s speech subtly including quotes from my favorite movie. Even the inflatable props for the dance floor just added to the experience and got everyone involved.

How DIY Touches Made Their Marshwood Manor Wedding Day Extra Special

We created our own wedding newspaper, “The Daily Veil,” and handed it out to all our guests on arrival. It included a timeline of the day, menu, and some fun facts about the bridal party. This was a really unique keepsake for all of our guests. One of the bridesmaids kindly arranged the bridal flowers on the day. We also created our table plan and place cards and provided our own centerpiece vases, which we thrifted and painted.

Making the Most Out of Their Wedding Budget

Our budget was £25,000 – £30,000. We were strict about the number of guests and DIYed some items to save on supplier costs. Guests staying on-site paid a small amount for accommodation. We opted for a dessert buffet rather than a cake, as a wedding cake is costly and wasn’t a big deal for us. We didn’t provide wedding favors to all guests, only the bridal party. Sam wanted to be able to wear his suit again, so he opted for a high-street brand.

Investing in Their Dream Wedding Venue

Our most significant spend was on the venue itself, which was the most important. The bridesmaid dresses were also a signficiant spend, as I wanted a range of colors to be in keeping with the style of the day. It was an exclusive-use venue, which you could utilize from Friday to Sunday, and accommodated half of our wedding party in the cottages on site. We always wanted the wedding to be stretched over an entire weekend. The venue was also perfect for having multiple areas where we could have different parts of the day, so guests had new experiences throughout the day in different parts of the grounds. My previous role in the wedding industry meant I had experienced many weddings in our local area. This venue was a little further away and new to me, but it was close enough that it wasn’t too far for our local family.

Even the most meticulously planned weddings may encounter a hiccup or two. Sometimes, Mother Nature decides to join in on the festivities. However, with a positive mindset, a willingness to adapt, a team of reliable experts, and perhaps even a sprinkle of rain on the big day, the experience can transform into something truly enchanting and unforgettable.

April 21, 2024 | justine

Monia and Ben’s wedding journey began with a bit of uncertainty about the theme, but it quickly turned into a beautiful collaboration. Together, they handpicked elements that resonated with their shared values, making compromises along the way to ensure their celebration stayed true to their unique identity. They began by selecting colors they both adored and sought out a venue that showcased their appreciation for historical architecture. The result? A breathtaking Hotel Haya wedding adorned with delicate pastel blooms and sparkling disco balls. Their blend of modern and Mediterranean influences infused the event with a timeless allure, leaving guests enchanted by the magic of their love story.

With stunning features like high ceilings, white-brick walls, beautiful wooden floors, and unique glass chandeliers, the couple elevated the venue’s beauty with a pathway lined with flowers leading to a breathtaking floral arch. To make it even more magical, they added a mirror ball and floral cloud installation. Transitioning seamlessly to the ballroom reception, they unveiled a tablescape adorned with stunning centerpieces, shimmering gold settings, and flickering candles, elevating the elegance of their special day to new heights.

With the help of Junebug vendor Carefully Curated Events, the couple brought their dream big day to life. The Wedding:

Hotel Haya, Florida, United States

Creating a Custom Color Palette for Their Hotel Haya Wedding by Embracing Neutrals and Vibrant Hues

When planning our wedding, we didn’t initially have a specific theme. Instead, we aimed for a balanced color palette, primarily neutral yet accentuated with vibrant hues. Our decor elegantly combines contemporary design with elements inspired by Mediterranean styles while maintaining a classic, timeless appeal. The guiding principle for our choices was simple: we selected what we genuinely adored and felt connected to. A significant aspect of this was the inclusion of light blue, a color that both my husband and I are particularly fond of.

Navigating Challenges Together by Turning Date Nights into Wedding Planning Bonding Time

Our wedding journey was filled with unforgettable experiences—the first look we shared, the grand reveal of the reception room, and the deeply meaningful exchange of our personal vows. Together, we planned each detail, turning many of our date nights into nights of crafting and creativity. This period became a treasured part of our life together. We experienced a whirlwind of emotions throughout the planning process, from tears to laughter, through every high and low. Despite the emotional rollercoaster of wedding planning, we stayed true to ourselves.

Top Tip for Stress-Free Wedding Planning: Secure Your Dream Team Early for the Big Day

Even with the best preparation, be ready for some last-minute details to arise, so start planning early; it’s always the best approach. Secure your vendors early on, as their schedules fill up quickly. We booked most of our vendors a year ahead to ensure availability. Having a wedding planner is essential, even if it’s just for partial planning. They’re invaluable. As professionals, they’ll remember details you might overlook. Take it from us. Their expertise is worth it. We are proud of the fact that we were deeply engaged in every aspect of our wedding planning. Together, we made choices, found a middle ground, and shared moments of joy and emotion, all while prioritizing our authenticity and staying true to ourselves. It was important to us to cherish each moment together. We made sure to have fun in every phase of the process.

Why They Chose a Hotel Haya Wedding

At first, we had the idea of having our wedding outdoors. However, considering the challenges of distance and the unpredictable weather in Florida, we decided to take a different approach. We opted for a setting that aligned with our appreciation for historical architecture. We were drawn to the rich history, brick walls, tall windows, and overall charm of the Hotel Haya. What really sealed the deal for us were the stunning herringbone wood floors. These floors held great significance because they perfectly complemented the color scheme we had chosen for our event, which wouldn’t have worked well with the typical brightly colored carpets found in ballrooms.

DIY Escort Display Reflecting Their Unique Personalities

There were a lot of things we created together. The biggest DIY project was our escort display, which truly reflected our personalities. Drawing inspiration from our shared passion for cars–a love many of our guests share and have bonded over for years–we crafted a unique parking garage setup. Each guest received a ticket personalized with their name and specific details guiding them to their seat. There, they found a custom Hot Wheels car, chosen to represent a car they’ve owned either in the past or currently. Adding a touch of nostalgia, all those Hot Wheels were from Ben’s childhood collection.
