Uniquely Chic Modern Wedding

May 30, 2022 | justine

Imogen and Stuart knew that they wanted their day to truly represent them as a couple. With a small guest list of 100 loved ones, it was a non-traditional, understated, and intimate celebration. And they pulled off every detail—from the unconventional venue to the stylish attire—without a planner!

The couple exchanged their vows at the unconventional Asylum Chapel—an abandoned church complete with sky-high ceilings and stained glass windows. To add subtle character to the existing abandoned aesthetic, they filled the chapel with candles and string lights. The contemporary theme was then carried onto their reception to give the industrial 100 Barrington a full transformation.

The couple put their own twist on their wedding attire, bucked tradition, and served fashion-forward looks. Imogen rocked a white trouser suit by The Kooples and a blush Dolce & Gabbana lace corset—the perfect inspiration for out-of-the-box couples. If this sounds like you, keep scrolling for ideas on how to add modern twists to timeless classics. These gorgeous images by Maja Tsolo are teeming with ideas.

Finding The Right Venues That Matched Their Chic Modern Wedding Vision

We were set on finding our ceremony and reception venues based in London that fit the rustic industrial theme. Having this at the back of our minds helped us focus and eliminate any venues that didn’t match our vision.

They Treated Their Guests To Their Favorite Persian Food

Everyone loved the food! Our menu was Persian-inspired as this is one of our favorite cuisines. We had sharing platters so that guests could go back for more.

Intimate Retro and Boho Micro Wedding

With a retro color palette, whimsical florals, flashy disco ball details, and a down-to-earth vibe, Jacqui and Stanford’s boho micro wedding was romantic, hippy, and disco fab. To couples out there who want to take a more unconventional route, this celebration will inspire you to bend the rules and have the most fun and gorgeous wedding ever!

Known for its menu, century-old oak trees, beautiful front lawn, and vintage farmhouse interior, Mattie’s was the perfect venue for their nuptials. With eclectic rugs leading up to the stunning lush floral pillars by Mountain Laurel Floral, the outdoor ceremony setting was the epitome of dreamy. The reception that followed featured a charming tablescape of antique candle holders, patterned plates, caramel-colored glassware, and mismatched floral arrangements

The cherry on top of this wedding is the unique fashion. The groom kept it stylish in a dark teal suit, while the bride looked incredible in a lace wedding dress with peekaboo midriff detail. She later changed into a sparkly disco jumpsuit for the after-party. From the styled campervan photobooth to the retro lounge area and DIY accents scroll through to see the unique details, all captured by Junebug member Aurelia Baca.

Why Mattie’s Was The Right Choice For Their Boho Micro Wedding

We had eaten dinner before at Mattie’s with my parents and fell in love with it. It’s in the heart of Austin and only a few miles away from where we stay. It’s almost like a hidden gem, and I knew it was the perfect venue for our wedding.

An Intimate And Unplugged Ceremony Officiated By The Bride’s Brother

The ceremony was the most memorable part because it was very intimate and officiated by my brother, Ricky. I’m very close to him and wanted him to be the one to make it official.  We only invited our closest friends and family, and we kept the ceremony unplugged so that we could all live in the moment together.

Wedding Planning Advice From The Bride

The entire point of wedding planning is to celebrate your big day. So if you’re not having a good time and living in the moment, you’ve missed the point. I also definitely recommend getting a day-of-coordinator if you’re planning the wedding yourself. I was grateful to have Blue Events & Co. step in 60 days prior to the event to help pull everything together and take some of the stress off my shoulders.

Romantic Pastel Peach Micro Wedding Inspiration

May 14, 2022 | riley

Although the wedding industry is booming once again, micro weddings are here to stay as couples shift their focus from large celebrations to small nuptials with their closest loved ones. Florist Bloominati Florals partnered up with planner Luna And The Lane and dreamt up this pastel peach micro wedding inspiration that further proves that minimonies are far from boring.

The Ravenswood–a 15th West Essex century estate–was the perfect backdrop for the styled shoot. The brides exchanged vows amongst elegant drapery, columns made of soft apricot and blush roses, and the glow of candlelight. But the charming aesthetic didn’t stop there–carrying into the reception decor

The floral backdrop that framed the couple during the ceremony was repurposed around the dinner table, making the intimate affair both whimsical and eco-friendly. Paired with the tapered candles and wedding cake covered in realistic sugar flowers, the post-ceremony celebration was straight out of a fairytale.  If you’re looking for opulent garden wedding inspiration, then you’re going to love these photos beautifully captured by Lauren Knuckey Photography.

Elegant and Chic Yosemite Elopement

May 11, 2022 | justine

Sharing a love for the great outdoors and hiking, there was no better way for Kayla and JohnTae to say their “I do’s” than with nature as their witness. Intimate and spectacular, their chic Yosemite elopement was the ultimate adventure brought to life in the most amazing place imaginable.

With the iconic El Capitan and Yosemite falls as their backdrop, this adventurous couple exchanged emotional vows on the grassy meadows under the soft morning light. And it wasn’t just the views that were stunning that day, but also their wedding ensemble. The couple brought serious style to their big day—the groom rocked a light blue jacket and white pants while the bride looked timeless in a chic slip gown.

Between the sweet foggy ceremony followed by a romantic picnic for two, to the portraits overlooking Yosemite’s dreamiest spots—these photos by Junebug member Dani Purington will inspire you to start your new life together with a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Scroll through these breathtaking photos, and we guarantee that you’ll be dreaming of marrying in an absolutely epic location!

The Couple:

Kayla and JohnTae

The Wedding:

Yosemite National Park, California, United States

Why They Decided To Have A Chic Yosemite Elopement

We chose our venue based on our love for hiking and adventure. We have been to several national parks, but never Yosemite. We wanted the day to be filled with adventure and visit a place we’d never been before. We thought, what better day to do this than our wedding day. We were also encouraged by our photographer Dani Purington’s portfolio of her previous shoots at Yosemite.

Advice From The Newlyweds: Have An Authentic Celebration That Truly Represents Your Relationship

The day is all about the two of you—the love you share and the journey you’re on. Do not allow others to tell you anything less or convince you to do something else. Eloping is non-traditional for most, but we were able to do all of our favorite things and were just truly present from sunrise to sunset. We are proud that this day was entirely about us.

An Intimate Vow Exchange At Sunrise

Most couples have to plan a ceremony in front of hundreds of people. For us, we wanted this moment to be intimate and romantic. We wanted to truly feel like we were the only ones in the world. Shayna at Shaytionery Designs made us books made from homemade paper and ribbon. Inside we wrote letters to each other, which we shared during our ceremony. It was truly a moment that deepened our bond.

Photographer Found The Perfect Spot For Their Sunrise Ceremony

The most memorable part of the day was our ceremony. We are thankful for the beautiful meadow that our photographer Dani Purington found and the beautiful weather and scenery that the park offered us at sunrise. Standing in an empty meadow while the sun was rising and the fog was setting. We were in awe of the moment we were experiencing together that we would never forget.

Gorgeous Secret Garden Wedding Inspiration

May 1, 2022 | justine

Overflowing greenery, lush flowers, natural elements, and a fairytale-like vibe—garden weddings are just undeniably magical and romantic. Using a soft color palette of blush, creams, and muted tones, this secret garden wedding inspiration is brimming with dreamy floral arrangements by The Wild Bunch, chic fashion, and the prettiest ideas.

Photographer The Bold Americana tapped Petal and Twine and a talented team of vendors to create a whimsical styled shoot with modern touches. Featuring fashion-forward style choices, the bride rocked a ruffled pantsuit and later changed into a long-sleeved high-slit dress paired with statement accessories. The groom stayed effortlessly cool in a casual ensemble.

The real magic lies in the hidden gardens of Burtown House as the couple exchanged private vows among the tall green hedges. Textured florals, flowy fabrics, and wispy details softened the contemporary elements and brought the outdoors into the intimate reception setting. If you can’t get enough of this ethereal style, keep scrolling. These images captured by The Bold Americana are guaranteed to sweep you away!

The Bold Americana’s Thoughts On This Garden Wedding Inspiration

I’ve always had a fascination with the elements of Ireland. It’s a place unlike any other to me. When I think of Ireland, I think of the texture of the grass and stone. I think of the muted colors of the landscapes with the bright pops of green. I wanted to design a wedding inspiration that was cohesive with these things. I took on Gabi from Petal and Twine as the stylist and a local to the area to help me create a styled shoot with the elegant feel that most couples want in a wedding but with a fresh and modern twist.

Absolutely Picturesque Palace Courtyard Wedding

April 30, 2022 | justine

With the original wedding date at the height of the pandemic, Cris and Lara had to reschedule not once but twice, and the third time was definitely the charm! With the help of their planner Vintage Bodas and a fantastic vendor team by their side, they navigated through it all with grace, while keeping their palace courtyard wedding true to themselves.

Surrounded by hills and woodland, the couple tied the knot under a tree at the 16th-century Palacio Conde Toreno garden terrace. Hanging fabric streamers, dried foliage and florals by Materia Botánica, and a retro loveseat—the love was in the details in their natural meets romantic ceremony setting. The couple made a chic fashion statement by wearing complementing bridal separates—a high-waisted skirt and top unique to each bride paired with white booties and eye-catching accessories.

What started as a cozy and relaxed courtyard reception became a wedding concert when the band started playing. It was an exciting and perfect end to their big day as the couple and their guests danced and partied the night away. Junebug members People Truelove Tellers beautifully captured the emotions and beauty of their big day. Scroll through to know more about their wedding journey and score unique ideas for your own celebration.

Junebug Members People Truelove Tellers’ Insight On Cris And Lara’s Wedding Journey

I love this wedding because it is the perfect summary of a couple fighting for what they want. Cristina and Lara are wedding photographers and their relationship was an emotional earthquake for them due to the unexpectedness of their love for themselves. They managed to break down many barriers. And when it wasn’t prejudice, it was the pandemic.

They initially planned their wedding for March 2020 but they had to postpone it and celebrated instead with an Instagram Live. The second attempt was in December 2020. It was not possible, once again. So Cristina dedicated a beautiful letter to Lara in the privacy of her house. And the third time finally, mission accomplished.

Why They Decided To Have A Palace Courtyard Wedding

We chose the venue because we wanted an outdoor wedding and the courtyard at Palacio Conde Toreno was incredible for it. Plus our planner Vintage Bodas manages the place. The best and most important thing was being able to count on Marta from Vintage Bodas. She helped us throughout the process to contact vendors and make decisions. We certainly couldn’t have done it without her.

Being Intentional About Enjoying Every Moment Of Their Big Day

We wanted to get everyone to enjoy every second of the wedding, especially us. We are wedding photographers and we have lived many moments working. We know that sometimes couples don’t enjoy their day.

Unique Spin To Their Ceremony Altar

For the ceremony we decided that we had to have a loveseat at the center. We looked for backdrop inspiration on Pinterest and found a beautiful option—fabric streamers falling from a tree and it was just what we were looking for. The dried foliage and floral arrangements by Materia Botánica was the perfect complement. Our friend Virginia, from OhBlabla led a fun and emotional ceremony that we will never forget.

DIY Floral Stands For The Ceremony

The bases where the flowers were placed in the ceremony were made by Cris’ father.

Cocktail Party Reception

We served cocktail party food for the reception. Lara is a vegetarian so most of the dishes were vegetarian. There were 18 courses, three desserts, and a cheese table. Among the most praised dishes were boletus croquettes, Mexican beef cheek taco, and the typical fabada Asturiana.

A Mini Concert At Their Reception

I think the two most memorable moments were the ceremony and when the Vintage Love Band music group gave their concert. The ceremony was very emotional, because after two failed attempts due to the pandemic, we were finally there. The concert was absolutely crazy. All the guests sang and danced like never before. We hugged and jumped together. It was very exciting.

Personalized Wedding Favors

We gave the guests something that represented each one of us—a cactus because Cris loves plants and some cookies with a personalized message because Lara loves to eat.

Working With Junebug Members People Truelove Tellers

It was amazing working with Daniel and his team at People Truelove Tellers on our wedding day. For us, he is a reference in the world of wedding photography and having him with us was a dream. They helped us at all times and we hardly even realized that they were working.

Advice From The Brides: Have The Wedding You Want

I think the most important thing when planning your wedding is that you do what you want. It’s a once in a lifetime experience and no one else should decide on your tastes or ideas.

Fun, Colorful, and Edgy Charlton Hall Wedding

Letting their personalities shine through every detail of their big day, Faith and Greg’s Charlton Hall wedding playfully mixes tradition with a touch of eccentricity. With its Alice in Wonderland-inspired decor, the couple chose the perfect quirky venue to set the fun tone for their entire celebration. With their three dogs in tow and colorful wildflowers creating a bold aesthetic, the party was set to begin. The couple and their guests danced the night away under the star-lit ceiling in a fun and edgy evening…

To top it all off, Faith and Greg made a seriously edgy fashion statement with their wedding attire. The groom rocked a Gucci monogrammed suit while the bride showed off a unique two-piece ensemble—a white cropped top with puff sleeves and high-waisted shorts featuring a sweeping train and detachable bow.

From the luxurious and fascinating wedding venue, down to the colorful details and romantic moments—don’t miss a single detail captured by Dan McCourt. For couples looking for out-of-the-box inspiration, scroll to the very end. This one’s for you!

The Wedding:

Charlton Hall, Ellingham, Alnwick, United Kingdom

A Charlton Hall Wedding That Was One For The Books

Every single person came up to us and told us it was the most fun they’d ever had. There was so much love and joy all day. We’re just really proud that we managed to put together something that we loved so much and everyone else did too.

Supporting Wedding Vendors Who Are Also Their Friends

We’re really proud of our vendors. They were all personal friends of ours and it was really important that we supported our friends and independent businesses.

How The Perfect Venue Saved Money On Wedding Decor

It was really important to us that our three dogs be there, so we found dog-friendly locations in the North East. Charlton Hall was only the second venue we looked at but we just fell in love instantly. It captured our style perfectly and knew we wouldn’t need to do anything to it when it came to decor for the day, which helped us save money. Everyone thought we’d styled it ourselves because it suited us so well.

The Bride Surprised Guests With An Epic Walk Down The Aisle

I hadn’t told anyone except Greg what song I was going to walk down the aisle to. I’ve always loved “Faith” by George Michael and it seemed so perfect. It started off with the traditional organ music then it kicked into the pop intro of the song. I heard everyone burst out laughing when they realized what song it was while I was waiting outside to make my entrance. It was exactly what I wanted—a reminder that nothing about our day was going to take itself too seriously.

Getting Their Guests To Mingle While Eating

We decided we didn’t want a traditional three-course meal, as we wanted our guests to be able to mingle and chat, so we went for a street food buffet. We also had quite a mix of vegan, vegetarian, and meat-eating guests. We wanted to make sure everyone was equally catered for. The venue had some fantastic options for us to choose from—slider burgers, nachos, hot dogs, and beyond. Everyone we spoke to said they really enjoyed the food.

Dan McCourt Perfectly Captured Natural And Unguarded Moments

Dan was an absolutely brilliant photographer. I swear he was solely responsible for getting me down the aisle on time. He made us feel so comfortable that we didn’t even notice him taking pictures which we loved. He managed to capture so many special moments. Every single photo of us and our guests captured our personalities perfectly. He knew exactly where to put us and how to make us feel comfortable. I couldn’t recommend anyone better.

Advice For Creating A Wedding That Is Authentic And Fun

Don’t take it too seriously and don’t get tied down by what you think you should have when you’re wedding planning. The celebration needs to feel authentically you. And make a wedding planning spreadsheet—it’s truly a lifesaver.

The Wedding Team:

Photography – Dan McCourt
Venue + Catering – Charlton Hall
Floral Design – Dancing Dahlia Florals
Cake – PureKnead Bakery
Rings – The Great Frog London
Pet Chaperone – Wishbone Weddings

Congratulations to Faith and Greg on their fun, colorful, and edgy Charlton Hall wedding! And big thanks to Dan McCourt for capturing the vibe and energy of their special day.

Looking through this celebration it’s easy to see that your wedding venue sets the vibe for the entire celebration. To make the task a little easier, working with a planner can help find the best fit for your vision, guest count, and budget. And just like Faith and Greg, it’s important to choose a venue that feels right for your personality and style. At the end of the day, your wedding should reflect you and your spouse in every way

Picturesque Parisian Garden Wedding Inspiration

January 26, 2022 | riley

With its breathtaking views of the capital and Sacré Coeur, nostalgic architecture, cobblestone roads, beautiful cafes, charming backstreets, and endless kissing nooks—it’s easy to see why Montmartre is arguably the most romantic and iconic part of Paris. Even climbing the stairs up to this neighborhood on the hill has something magical about it! That’s why planner Julie of L’amour l’amour Paris and photographer Berivans World chose to showcase the character and whimsical charm of the neighborhood in this picturesque Parisian garden wedding inspiration shoot.

This stunning styled shoot is full of vintage details, gorgeous dusty-hued floral arrangements by L’usine à Pétales, and seriously romantic bistro vibes. In true Parisian fashion, the couple’s dressed in effortlessly elegant attire—with Chloe looking incredibly chic in high-waisted crepe pants and a lace blouse with balloon sleeves by Galatée Couture and Maxime in a timeless black tux by L’apiéceur.

If you love the idea of exploring the alleyways and getting lost in the beauty of Paris with your spouse-to-be, scroll through and fall in love with these breathtaking photos by Berivans World.

Thank you to planner Julie of L’amour l’amour Paris for sharing and photographer Berivans World for capturing this picturesque Parisian garden wedding inspiration shoot.

A beautiful exotic location is often considered the perfect destination wedding backdrop, but just like this styled shoot, the city streets and pocket gardens can be just as magical. And if you’re already looking at unconventional venues, chances are you also prefer wedding attire that veers away from the traditional (just like Chloe). That means chic bridal jumpsuits or stylish separates, and lucky for you, the options are limitless.
