Bold Looks and a Focus on Fun Made This Jewel Tone Wedding Unforgettable

May 5, 2025 | justine

What do you get when two stylish grooms, a dramatic emerald-and-gold vision, and a guest list that understands the assignment come together? A jewel tone wedding that’s bold, personal, and packed with unforgettable moments.

Brock and McKinley’s love story started online, both thinking they were in it for something casual. A handful of dates turned into something special faster than either of them expected. When COVID hit and the world shut down, their bond only grew stronger.

One early moment sealed the deal: just a week into dating, Brock fell seriously ill while staying at McKinley’s. “I went to the store in the middle of the night to get him medicine and even skipped an important conference the next day,” McKinley shared. “That was when we knew, we’d found our forever.”

Even before the proposal, McKinley had a Pinterest board dedicated to a green and gold wedding. “I’d been saving ideas for over a decade,” he said. And since Brock’s a lifelong Packers fan, the color palette was an easy win.

Though they didn’t hire a planner, their vendors played a key role. “Our vendors were amazing. They helped us figure out what we needed and when.” Early on, they found a rhythm—using planning templates and checklists to guide biweekly sessions where they tackled wedding to-dos together. “On Tuesdays, we picked topics. Sundays, we’d go deep and divide tasks,” they explained. It helped them stay on track and, more importantly, on the same page.

What We Love About This Jewel Tone Wedding:

  • The grooms’ epic fashion choices—yes to the emerald jacket and that jumpsuit-cape combo
  • Their choreographed lip-sync entrance to “It’s Raining Men” (instant icon status)
  • A ring-warming ceremony that brought the whole room into the moment
  • The emotional vows that had everyone crying
  • An intentional, joy-filled vibe that radiated through every detail—from signature drinks to packed dance floors

Prioritizing Representation in Vendor Selection

While scrolling Instagram and asking around for referrals, Brock and McKinley were clear about one thing: “We wanted vendors who were openly LGBT-friendly.”  They knew it would shape the entire atmosphere, and it did.

Their photographer and Junebug vendor Katherine Elyse Media, captured every emotional glance and moment of joy with a warm, candid style that matched the day perfectly.

Why They Skipped the Rehearsal Dinner

Instead of doing a traditional rehearsal dinner, Brock and McKinley threw a welcome party at The Well. It was relaxed, colorful, and full of laughter. Exactly the kind of energy they wanted leading into the wedding day. “It let everyone mix and feel part of the celebration from the start.”

Dressing for the Vibe, Not the Rulebook

McKinley ditched the idea of a traditional tux early. “When I saw the jumpsuit and cape, I knew,” he said. “It was bold, it was me.” Brock, never one to shy away from a statement, found the perfect emerald jacket online.

They encouraged their guests to wear jewel tones, and everyone absolutely delivered. “We said ‘formal’ but wanted people to feel amazing. Everyone looked stunning.” Their bridal party followed suit: satin champagne dresses with slits, letting each person’s style shine while staying cohesive.

Choosing a Venue That Felt Like Home

Hotel Covington stood out for many reasons, but one was most important: “They’re openly supportive of LGBTQ+ couples. From the start, they made us feel wanted and respected.”

The couple loved the layout too. The courtyard offered a romantic backdrop for their ceremony, while the indoor spaces created a seamless flow for the celebration that followed.

Jewel Tone Wedding Ceremony Moments They’ll Never Forget

The vows were the emotional centerpiece of the day. Written personally, they brought the house to tears. “That moment, saying those words in front of everyone we love, was unreal.”

Other standout details? McKinley’s dad walking him down the aisle, their friend Lia officiating a custom ceremony, and a string duo playing Mariah Carey’s “Always Be My Baby” as a nod to their favorite show, Schitt’s Creek.

Being Realistic With Budget—While Still Going Big on Impact

With a guest list of about 125, Brock and McKinley focused on intentional choices that created an unforgettable experience without going over budget. They added unique touches like a ring-warming ceremony, wrote their own deeply personal vows, and made sure the drinks and music were on point.

One unexpected crowd-pleaser? A signature cocktail inspired by a drink they loved from Shark Tank. “We wanted a party with great drinks, a packed dance floor, and lots of little surprises.” Mission definitely accomplished.

From DIY Details to Champagne Sprays

They weren’t afraid to get hands-on. From setup to desserts baked by Brock’s coworker, nearly every detail had a personal touch. “It made it all feel more meaningful.”

After the ceremony, they celebrated with a champagne spray and a lip-sync grand entrance that got the whole crowd cheering. “We wanted our guests to feel like they were part of something epic—and they did.”

The dance floor stayed packed all night, proving that great music, a killer jewel tone wedding dress code, and genuine love make the perfect party combo.

A Jewel Tone Wedding Celebration Rooted in Meaning

Brock and McKinley’s big day is a reminder that the most meaningful weddings are about staying true to who you are. From the bold fashion to the intentional vendor choices and deeply personal ceremony, every detail reflected their love, values, and shared joy. This jewel tone wedding was more than just stylish—it was soul-filled. When you lead with authenticity and prioritize connection, you create something truly magical.

A Private Moment to Close the Night

After all the energy and celebration, the couple retreated to their room. Brock lit the fire, McKinley put on music, and they slow-danced under the stars on their terrace, just the two of them. “It was the perfect ending.”

Mountain Views and Meaningful Moments in this Laid-Back Stanley, Idaho Wedding

May 3, 2025 | justine

What does a truly laid-back wedding look like? For Lexi and Logan, it meant ditching tradition, embracing mountain-town magic, and doing things their way, unapologetically and beautifully.

Their love story didn’t begin with sparks flying in a movie-worthy moment. It started with a humble DM: “Hi, I’m just some random fella who thinks you’re beautiful and would like to take you on a date.” Maybe not poetic, but perfectly them.

From that first message, their connection grew—built on inside jokes, made-up words, and the kind of ease that only comes from finding your person. “It wasn’t one big grand gesture. It was a million little things,” they shared.

When it came time to plan their wedding, they knew exactly what they didn’t want: stress, stuffiness, or anything that didn’t feel like them. What did they want? A celebration that felt intimate, natural, and full of good energy. And there was no better place than Stanley, Idaho—a spot Logan had loved since childhood and one that soon became their shared haven.

“Once we started dating, he introduced me (and my parents) to it, and it quickly became one of our places. Somewhere that just felt like home, but with way better views.”

What We Love About This Laid-Back Wedding:

  • The naturally stunning backdrop of Stanley, Idaho
  • Their DIY flower bar experience from a local you-pick garden
  • A low-key, high-love vibe woven throughout every detail
  • A wedding team made up of close friends, family, and local vendors
  • The heartfelt decision to keep things simple, meaningful, and stress-free

“We’ve never been the type to get caught up in every tiny detail. We’re usually too busy chasing our next adventure. So we didn’t want wedding planning to feel like some drawn-out, stressful production.”

Instead of fussing over perfection, they focused on what mattered most: each other. Once they met their photographer, the vision started to fall into place. Stanley was already their favorite escape, so making it the heart of their wedding just felt right.

They kept their approach simple: pick what they loved, skip what they didn’t, and let the day unfold naturally. Flowers came from a charming local you-pick garden, desserts were from a Stanley sweet shop, and their “wedding team” was a mix of incredible local vendors and the people who love them most. “Sometimes the best people for the job are the ones who already love you.”

The result? A relaxed, joy-filled celebration that felt like home—just with even better views.

Easygoing Rehearsal by the Campfire to Set the Tone of Their Laid-Back Wedding Weekend

Rather than a formal rehearsal dinner, they kicked things off at their favorite camping spot in Stanley. Surrounded by mountains, a crackling fire, and their closest people, it was the perfect prelude to the weekend.

They did a couple of quick aisle walk-throughs, then let the rest of the night unfold naturally. No assigned seating, no speeches. Just good vibes and stars overhead.

“We ran through a few quick practice rounds (just enough to make sure no one tripped walking down the aisle), but beyond that, it was all about good vibes, a crackling campfire, and soaking in the outdoors with our favorite people. No strict schedules, no stress. Just a perfect night under the stars, setting the tone for the best weekend ever.”

Laid-Back Wedding Fashion That Felt Like Them

Lexi knew she didn’t want a typical wedding dress—she wanted something bold, unique, and totally her. And she found it. “Something that made people say, ‘That is so Lex.’”

Logan wore a classic tan suit, keeping things earthy and timeless. The rest of the wedding party followed suit—effortlessly coordinated without feeling matchy-matchy. Hair, makeup, and accessories were all about celebrating individual style. “We didn’t want anyone to feel like a clone. We wanted everyone to feel like themselves.”

Rolling With Wild Weather and Wiggly Ring Bearers

If you’ve ever planned an outdoor wedding, you know Mother Nature doesn’t always RSVP. “We set up everything for the ceremony, stepped away to get dressed, and in true mountain fashion, the wind decided to make its presence known.”

But instead of letting it ruin the moment, they embraced the chaos—windblown hair, flying decorations, and all. “Honestly, it just made everything more us. A little unpredictable, a little adventurous, and completely unforgettable.”

Another unpredictable and unforgettable detail? Moose, their adorable puppy, doubled as ring bearer.

A Laid-Back Wedding Ceremony Full of Heart

Lexi’s dad officiated their ceremony, adding personal touches and just the right amount of humor (including a few golf jokes). The couple exchanged vows surrounded by family, friends, and mountains that felt like home.

Between the laughter, the wind, and Moose’s grand entrance, it was everything they dreamed of. Deeply meaningful and entirely their own.

How They Planned a Wedding Without Losing Their Minds (Or Budget)

Lexi and Logan kept things simple and intentional from the start. No overthinking, no pressure. “We picked what we loved, skipped what we didn’t care about, and somehow, it all came together in the best way possible.”

  • Venue? Stanley City Park—cheap, scenic, and perfectly them.
  • Flowers? Picked from a local you-pick garden.
  • Cake and dessert? Straight from a local shop.
  • Wedding team? A combo of talented locals and helpful friends.

“We weren’t going to let our wedding turn into a budget-eating monster,” Lexi said. Their top priority? “The photos! We wanted to make sure we had amazing photos to look back on.”

With Junebug vendor Autumn Lynne Photography behind the lens, they captured all the magic—big and small—without sacrificing the relaxed, real feeling they craved.

A Saloon Celebration to Remember

Their reception took over a local bar, complete with a live band and all their favorite people. “It wasn’t a massive dance floor full of strangers—it was a jam session with the people who mean the most to us.”

They danced, sang, and closed out the night at Mountain Village Saloon—exactly how they’d always pictured ending their best day ever.

Their Wedding, Their Way

One of their favorite memories was a sunrise photo session at Stanley Lake. “The air is crisp (okay, cold), the lake is perfectly still, and the mountains are just starting to glow. And there we were, standing together, taking it all in.”

Lexi and Logan’s advice? Keep it simple and stay true to what feels right. “Don’t overthink it,” they said. “Focus on what actually matters to you. Whether that’s the location, the people, or just making sure you have a good time.”

Their laid back wedding wasn’t about trends or expectations. It was about celebrating in a place they loved, surrounded by people who mattered, in a way that felt true to their story.

Because at the end of the day, the best wedding is the one that feels like you. Wind, wiggly puppies, and all.

An Xcaret Mexico Wedding With a Reception on the Edge of the Ocean

April 24, 2025 | justine

When Tiffany and Tyler matched on Bumble during the early pandemic lockdowns, their connection was instant. “From that first date, it was clear that this love story was just beginning,” they shared. A charcuterie board, a bashful “whoa,”—and ended with Tyler happily setting aside a year of vegetarianism, already too taken with Tiffany to care.and a vegetarian moment forgotten—everything aligned for these two. And after years of building a life together, traveling the world, and making memories from Lima to Switzerland, they decided to say “I do” in a place that felt just as magical: an Xcaret Mexico wedding.

The couple knew early on they didn’t want a traditional beach wedding, but they did want nature to take center stage. “We envisioned a natural, outdoor wedding with a jungle-meets-ocean vibe.” After discovering Hotel Xcaret Mexico through the Instagram of their planner–Junebug vendor Lucy Gallagher Boutique Weddings–everything started falling into place.

“We wanted our guests to feel the magic of nature while enjoying a classy yet fun celebration.” Xcaret provided a stunning blend of coastal beauty and jungle charm—with a dramatic pyramid and chapel overlooking their ceremony site, and a reception space surrounded by caves and water that kept things cool and breezy.

Planning from afar can be tricky, but the couple relied heavily on their planner to help find trusted vendors. “We started with Xcaret’s recommended list, and Lucy also brought in a few external vendors based on her experience.”

Priorities included a bilingual DJ to entertain their international crowd, a florist who could work within their budget, and photo and video teams that could capture the couple’s natural energy. “We wanted professionals who could avoid stiff or overly posed shots,” Tiffany said. For video, they chose Junebug vendor One Cameraman, whose cinematic yet personal style felt like the perfect fit.

When it came to finding their planner, the couple looked for three things: someone who had worked weddings at Xcaret, could communicate bilingually, and most importantly—meshed well with their personalities. “That made all the difference.”

What We Love About This Xcaret Mexico Wedding:

  • The uniquely immersive ceremony spot at Xcaret Mexico, set between the jungle and the sea
  • A warm, modern color palette of tan, neutrals, and sage that let the setting shine
  • A private and heartfelt first look that helped calm their nerves and maximize guest time
  • A bilingual, customized ceremony that honored both of their cultures
  • An open-air reception nestled between caves and water, offering a naturally breezy, intimate atmosphere

Wedding Attire That Matched the Mood

The entire wedding day was styled around a color palette of soft neutrals and greens that let the venue shine. Tiffany wore a Monique Lhuillier gown with floral appliqués and a subtle skin-tone underlay—romantic and light, just like the setting. For the reception, she changed into a short Herve Leger dress with Valentino heels.

Tyler wore a tailored tan suit and later swapped into a short-sleeve shirt and sandals. Bridesmaids wore sage dresses in mixed styles, while the groomsmen matched Tyler’s laid-back tan look. Even their parents joined in with coordinated gold and neutral tones.

Making Space for Connection

One of their smartest decisions? Doing a first look. “It was our favorite part of the entire day.” That quiet moment helped settle their nerves and gave them time to be fully present with each other. It also freed up time during cocktail hour to relax and enjoy their guests.

They also loved their sweetheart table. “Never leave your partner’s side during the reception,” Tiffany advised. “Having our own table gave us a moment to eat, talk, and take it all in together.”

A Ceremony That Reflected Their Relationship and Roots

For Tiffany and Tyler, choosing Xcaret as their wedding venue wasn’t just about the views—it was about finding a space that reflected who they are. “We wanted an outdoor wedding, but not a traditional beach ceremony.” Xcaret struck the perfect balance, blending the natural beauty of the jungle and ocean with distinctive cultural elements. Their ceremony took place with the iconic pyramid as a backdrop and a chapel perched above, giving the moment a quiet, spiritual presence without feeling overtly religious.

One of the most meaningful parts of the day was the ceremony itself, made even more special by their officiant—Tiffany’s best friend. “She was bilingual and someone close to both of us,” the couple said. The ceremony was delivered mostly in English, with thoughtful Spanish phrases woven in to reflect their blended backgrounds. To make the experience more inclusive, they went a step further and printed out full translations of the ceremony and vows so every guest could follow along, no matter their primary language.

And then there was the detail Tiffany will never forget: a small clip attached to her bouquet, gifted by Tyler’s grandmother who couldn’t be there in person. “Including it allowed us to honor her presence in spirit,” she said. Quiet, intentional touches like this made their ceremony not only personal—but deeply heartfelt.

Budgeting for What Matters Most

Like many couples, Tiffany and Tyler initially assumed that getting married in Mexico would be the more budget-friendly option. But as their vision for a dream Xcaret Mexico wedding came to life, they realized they needed a bit more flexibility. Rather than scaling back the celebration itself, they made smart, intentional decisions to stay within budget. They opted out of hiring a second photographer, booked eight hours of videography coverage instead of ten, chose a smaller floral arch, and skipped an elaborate cake display, serving it simply as dessert instead. These thoughtful compromises allowed them to prioritize the vendors and elements that mattered most, keeping the day visually stunning and completely stress-free.

An Xcaret Mexico Wedding Reception That Celebrated Nature

Their cocktail hour and reception took place in a stunning open-air space tucked between natural rock formations and the water’s edge. Unlike a typical beach setup, this unique location offered protection from the strong ocean winds while still allowing guests to enjoy the surrounding views and fresh breeze. “It created the exact ambiance we were hoping for—unique and deeply connected to nature.”

The setting felt effortlessly romantic, with soft lighting, organic textures, and the sounds of nature all around. Guests mingled under the open sky, surrounded by caves and lush greenery, as they enjoyed cocktails and conversation. The seamless flow from ceremony to reception helped maintain the relaxed-yet-refined vibe the couple had envisioned from the start. It wasn’t just a beautiful backdrop, it was an experience that made everyone feel like they were part of something special.

Keeping the Celebration Flowing at Their Xcaret Mexico Wedding

From start to finish, Tiffany and Tyler made sure their guests were treated to a full experience. The wedding weekend kicked off with a casual welcome event, complete with taco and churro stands and heartfelt speeches. “We wanted people to connect before the big day,” they said.

And after the wedding? A night at Xoximilco, where guests rode gondolas, sipped tequila, and danced to live music under the stars. “It was the perfect way to say goodbye. So fun, so festive, and so uniquely Mexican.”

Tiffany and Tyler’s Tips for Planning a Destination Wedding

If you’re planning your own Xcaret Mexico wedding, here’s their real-world advice:

  • Hire a planner who knows the venue well. It makes everything smoother.
  • Be clear with communication. Response times from resorts may be slow, so manage expectations with your guests.
  • Visit beforehand, if possible. It helps with vendor meetings, food tastings, and setting realistic expectations.
  • Stay flexible. Let go of perfection and focus on enjoying the moment.
  • Stick together. Create time to be with your partner. This is your day, too.

From a pandemic-era first date to an epic celebration surrounded by loved ones, Tiffany and Tyler’s Xcaret Mexico wedding proves that when you lead with intention and a little adventure, everything comes together beautifully.

Fashion-Forward Las Vegas Wedding With Art Deco Style, Three Bridal Outfits, and a Poolside Grand Finale

April 22, 2025 | justine

After years of “not being serious” while somehow spending every single day together, Lexi and Chad’s love story unfolded naturally—and their fashion-forward Las Vegas wedding followed suit. They weren’t in any rush to tie the knot, but when they did, they made it count.

“We really wanted the day to feel very ‘us,’ and that’s all we kept hearing from our guests,” Lexi shared. “It felt very authentic and meant a lot to us.”

From a flirty ceremony at The Little White Chapel to a candlelit dinner under the stars, the couple’s big day blended romance, style, and spontaneity in the most perfect way. With help from their trusted vendor team, the weekend was a whirlwind of cocktails, custom outfits, and one unforgettable pool jump.

Lexi’s 1920s Art Deco engagement ring served as the design inspiration. “I kept coming back to red because it’s so classically romantic. We wanted the vibe to feel very enchanting and sexy, with small eclectic touches and a Vegas vibe.”

After a consultation with her favorite wedding creator on TikTok, Lexi was encouraged to find a planner who could match her creative energy. That’s how she landed on Junebug Vendor Ember and Stone Events and never looked back. “After our first call, I knew the team was dedicated to creating my perfect day. They’re as good as it gets when it comes to bringing a vision to life.”

What We Love About This Fashion-Forward Las Vegas Wedding:

  • Lexi’s three distinct bridal outfits, each thoughtfully chosen for a different part of the day
  • A romantic candlelit reception under the trees
  • Thoughtfully curated playlists that kept the mood just right all day
  • A poolside grand exit with custom guest T-shirts
  • The unexpected surprise of needing a new marriage license just minutes before the ceremony (yes, really!)

The Power of a Private First Look

Before heading to the chapel, Chad and Lexi had their first look in their hotel room—a quiet, intimate moment that helped ease the nerves.

“It was so private and special and really helped ease our nerves going into the rest of the day,” Lexi said.

Rolling With the Unexpected Can Make the Best Memories

Just before their ceremony, the couple found out their Texas marriage license wasn’t valid in Nevada. Cue the mad dash to the courthouse.

“Luckily, The Little White Chapel was able to delay our ceremony by 15 minutes, so we ran to the courthouse, got the license, and still made it to cocktail hour right on time!”

They also chose to keep the ceremony intimate, with only immediate family in attendance. “It didn’t feel right to share such an intimate moment with a large crowd.. We’re so grateful that our guests still came all that way to celebrate us in a way that felt true to who we are.”

Letting Their Fashion-Forward Las Vegas Wedding Attire Tell the Story

As a self-proclaimed fashion lover (and indecisive bride), Lexi knew one look wouldn’t cut it. For their Fashion-forward Las Vegas wedding, she curated a bridal wardrobe that evolved with the day. For the ceremony, she wore a cheeky David Koma asymmetric mini dress paired with Reformation kitten heels and Miu Miu sunglasses gifted by her best friends that morning. During cocktail hour, she changed into a custom gown inspired by a 2008 Valentino dress she’d spotted on Pinterest. And for the reception, Lexi wore her favorite look of all—the Khaite Candita dress in Kiss Print. “Before I even had any wedding plans, I knew I had to wear this dress. I actually based a lot of the decor on this look!”

Chad stayed effortlessly cool in a Michael Kors tuxedo, Doc Marten Oxfords, and his go-to Seiko watch—perfectly polished and true to his everyday style.

Finding the Perfect Venue Can Set the Tone for Everything Else

“My one requirement when looking for a venue was a pool… which is not the easiest thing to find!”

Lexi came across A Secret Garden while scrolling online and knew instantly that it was the one, even though they had already booked another venue. “It’s a hidden gem 20 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip, and it lives up to its name!”

The setting brought their garden party vision to life: a poolside cocktail hour that led into a romantic dinner under the trees with red and green florals, whimsical black bows, vintage-style china, and candlelight.

Lexi added, “I knew no matter how much I spent on decor, the day would turn out beautiful. Finding a venue I absolutely loved allowed me to save in other areas.”

Top priorities? “Great food and drinks, and dreamy photos. From hors d’oeuvres to late-night burgers and espresso martinis, we were not disappointed. And I had dreamed of having Rachel Santos capture my day since before we were even engaged.”

Music Matters, Even After their Fashion-Forward Las Vegas Wedding

“We’re big music people,” Lexi said, and it showed. Every part of the day had its own playlist, upbeat for cocktail hour, moody and romantic during dinner, and a custom mix of the couple’s favorites to dance the night away. “We still turn on the playlists when we’re cooking at home or entertaining friends.”

Their grand exit? Floating in the pool while “Innerbloom” by RÜFÜS DU SOL played. Friends jumped in after them, and everyone left with a custom T-shirt that read:
“I jumped in the pool at the Kolman wedding and all I got was this T-shirt.”
The perfect keepsake for a wedding that didn’t take itself too seriously.

Wedding Planning Advice From a Bride Who Did It Her Way

Planning a wedding isn’t always easy, but Lexi says it’s completely worth it. “No matter how overwhelming the planning process may feel at times, I would do it 100x over. Nothing compares to having all of your loved ones together to celebrate this next chapter of life with you. Have the wedding!”

What made their fashion-forward Las Vegas wedding truly unforgettable wasn’t just the bold outfits or dreamy setting, it was how personal and true to them it felt. From the private first look to the intimate ceremony and spontaneous pool jump, Chad and Lexi created a day full of intention and joy. Their celebration proves that when you stay true to who you are, the result is a wedding that’s not just beautiful—it’s meaningful.

A Spring Palette and the Venue’s Vintage Wallpaper Inspired This Birkby House Wedding

April 19, 2025 | justine

What do you do when your venue suddenly falls through, your partner is deployed, and you’re planning a wedding solo? If you’re Alex, you pivot, persevere, and end up having the wedding of your dreams at Birkby House. With a little help from her mom and best friends, Alex designed a celebration full of intentional touches, historic charm, and a joyful spring palette—even in late fall.

Alex and Wyatt originally had another venue lined up. But when that plan fell through just as Wyatt left for Navy deployment, Alex had to start over—alone. She admits, “In the moment when it happened, I wanted to cancel everything. And I’m so thankful I didn’t.”

Instead, she found Birkby House and immediately fell in love with its charm—especially the newly added conservatory and the front hallway’s vintage wallpaper. That wallpaper became the foundation for their entire wedding design.

“I abandoned my original color scheme and based the entire design off the wallpaper in the front entry hall,” Alex says. “We were having a late fall wedding, but I wanted more spring colors, and I found that was the perfect way to blend the two.” The resulting palette—light moss green, cream, dusty pink, light blue, and orange—brought a warmth that matched the unseasonably sunny 70-degree November day.

With such thoughtful design choices woven throughout the day, Alex knew she needed a photographer who could capture not just the look, but the feeling behind it all. She found that in Junebug vendor Ridge and Ramble. “Photography is so personal, and she was everything I was looking for. Her vision is organic and timeless, and I wanted our day to be about those small, unexpected moments captured.”

What We Love About This Birkby House Wedding:

  • A fresh, spring-inspired color palette in a late fall setting
  • A meaningful ceremony with a simple, traditional structure
  • Personalized DIY details designed with the help of the bride’s best friend
  • A late-night wedding favor guests actually wanted (sandwiches!)

Rethinking Traditions to Make Room for Meaningful Moments

That same intentionality extended to other parts of the day. The couple skipped a formal rehearsal dinner in favor of a brunch at Tuscarora Mills (conveniently owned by the same people behind Birkby House), followed by a relaxed dinner at the bride’s parents’ home with out-of-town guests.

When the Look Matters Just as Much as the Feel

Alex and Wyatt approached their wedding-day style with personal intention. “I actually inadvertently ended up designing my wedding dress. I had something very specific in mind. After not really finding what I was looking for, I chose a design that was close and had someone alter it.” The result was a gown that felt entirely her own—classic, custom, and aligned with the vibe she had imagined from the start.

Wyatt had just one request when it came to the wedding day attire: “don’t make me wear my uniform.” Wanting the day to feel relaxed and true to who they are, he added a personal touch by gifting each of his groomsmen a stylish watch to wear. It was a small but meaningful gesture that brought everyone together while keeping the vibe authentic and low-key—perfectly in line with the rest of the celebration.

Keeping Some Traditions, Breaking Others

Some traditions were a must—like the ceremony. “I grew up Catholic and Wyatt did not, but it was important for me to have some type of religious ceremony.” Fr. Jason Lody officiated, keeping things simple, traditional, and meaningful.

On the flip side, the couple skipped a first look. “I wanted the first time he saw me to be when I was walking down the aisle. I was ultimately more interested in doing portraits together at night in and around the Birkby House property. They are some of my favorite moments that Kelsey captured perfectly.”

Creating a Birkby House Reception That’s Pure Celebration

The reception vibe was clear: celebration above all else. “Dancing is one of the best parts of any wedding. After an extremely stressful year of planning, deployment, new jobs, and moving—I wanted this just to be our time to celebrate.”

Thanks to Birkby House, that celebration unfolded in a space that felt just right. “I knew I wanted something different from the stereotypical barns and wineries of the area. And Birkby House was the answer to just that,” she says. “I spent the morning quietly relaxing on the upper porch just watching the space slowly start to come to life. It was the best way to truly take in the start to our day.”

From its conservatory’s glow to its vintage charm, their venue offered a stunning canvas for a wedding filled with personality and heart. And thanks to Alex’s vision, the entire day reflected a couple who knows how to weather change, and find joy on the other side.

Personal Details That Made a Big Impact

From sandwiches as favors to handmade signage, nearly every element of this wedding had a personal touch. “I did not want traditional wedding favors, so our favors were sandwiches from a local restaurant, Cafesano, which is owned by my MOH—because who doesn’t want a sandwich for the road after a long night of dancing?”

And about those design elements: “I enlisted my best friend and bridesmaid for help with all my DIY, as that is not my strong suit. She helped design and create my save the dates, invites, menus, table numbers, and every piece of signage.”

Junebug Tip:
When your first plan falls through, don’t be afraid to revisit venues you may have originally overlooked. Sometimes the perfect place isn’t the one you imagined—it’s the one that makes you feel at home.

The Beauty of Letting Go of Perfection

And that’s what Alex and Wyatt’s day reminds us. Weddings aren’t just about getting every detail right. They’re about staying open, being flexible, and trusting that even the most unexpected changes can lead to something even better. Whether it’s a vintage wallpaper that inspires your color palette or a porch moment that grounds you before walking down the aisle, the magic often happens when you let go of perfection and lean into what feels true to you.

So if you’re deep in the thick of wedding planning, overwhelmed by changes or curveballs, take a breath. Like Alex and Wyatt, you might just find that the best day of your life comes together not in spite of the detours—but because of them.

Modern Chinese Wedding Tea Ceremony Featuring a Custom Wedding Qipao and Tang Suit

April 18, 2025 | justine

For Suzanne and Marco, wedding planning wasn’t about sticking to tradition—it was about creating a day that felt meaningful and personal. Their celebration began with an emotional Chinese tea ceremony and unfolded into a relaxed oceanfront reception, blending heritage and modern style with ease. One of the most striking elements of the day was their fashion: Suzanne wore a custom red Chinese wedding dress, styled as a contemporary Qipao, complemented by the classic influences of the Cheongsam, creating a beautiful balance of old and new. While Marco wore a coordinating Tang suit with intricate embroidery. Their outfits didn’t just honor tradition; they reflected who they are as a couple. With intentional design choices and heartfelt nods to family, their day was rooted in love, legacy, and connection.

What We Love About This Chinese Wedding Tea Ceremony:

  • Suzanne’s radiant red Qipao with symbolic embroidery, personalized with hidden portraits of the couple’s beloved dog and cat
  • Marco’s black Tang suit featuring an intricate gold dragon motif, that matched the bride’s design in both elegance and meaning
  • A tea ceremony setup framed by red florals, lanterns, and symbolic “double happiness” accents
  • A generational fashion tribute featuring the bride’s mother in a custom modern Qipao, thoughtfully recreated from the original one her parents gifted her and that she wore on her own wedding day
  • A light-filled coastal wedding reception with charcuterie, cocktails, and sunset portraits

Custom Chinese Wedding Attire Inspired by Love and Legacy

For their special day, Marco and Suzanne turned to JINZA to design their one-of-a-kind, matching Chinese wedding outfits. Suzanne wore a radiant red silk Cheongsam, hand embroidered with gold dragons—longstanding Chinese symbols of strength, protection, and good fortune. Their zodiac sign is the Year of the Rabbit, a symbol often associated with peace, harmony, and new beginnings, adding yet another layer of meaning to an already symbolic design.

Marco’s Tang suit was tailored from the same luxurious red silk and featured matching dragon embroidery, visually tying his look to Suzanne’s and showcasing their unity as a couple. His cuffs were finished with red piping and echoing motifs, details that honored heritage while feeling modern and intentional.

The hidden touches made both outfits even more memorable: embroidered portraits of their beloved pets, Libby, the Corgi, and Simon, the Persian cat, discreetly stitched into the garments. These sweet inclusions reflected the couple’s quiet devotion to their furry family and brought an extra smile to everyone’s faces.

Suzanne reflected, “Wearing these outfits wasn’t just about looking beautiful. It was about carrying pieces of our story, our heritage, and our loved ones with us. JINZA and the team  captured all of that perfectly.”

An Emotional Chinese Wedding Tea Ceremony Steeped in Tradition

The couple’s Chinese wedding tea ceremony was held in a visually stunning and culturally rich setting. A red satin-covered table was adorned with fresh flowers and gold accents, complemented by a red-and-gold traditional tea set. Symbols of “double happiness” hung throughout the space alongside red lanterns and curated decorations that signified harmony, prosperity, and long life.

Marco and Suzanne began by serving tea to the groom’s family, kneeling on red cushions, and exchanging smiles, blessings, and even a few tears with their elders. It was a profoundly moving moment. A blend of tradition and personal expression, bringing generations together.

The couple included their parents’ wisdom and blessings in the ceremony, adding another layer of intimacy. It wasn’t just about ritual but meaning, connection, and shared gratitude.

A Qipao Passed Down as Family Heirloom

One of the most touching moments of the day unfolded during the tea ceremony when Suzanne’s mother stepped forward in her own custom Qipao, designed from the very dress she wore on her wedding day 30 years earlier.

The team at JINZA preserved the original embroidery and fabric, reimagining it into a contemporary silhouette that felt both timeless and elegant. As Suzanne’s mom joined the tea ceremony wearing a piece of family history, it became a poignant reminder of how weddings can bridge generations and carry the tradition forward in new, beautiful ways.

JB Tip: Make Your Outfits a Part of Your Story

The couple’’s wardrobe was not only stunning—it was a living expression of their values, family, and story. The red Qipao and Tang suit, paired with modern reception wear, allowed their day to flow organically. While maintaining cultural depth and emotional resonance.

If you’re planning a multicultural wedding, consider working with designers, like JINZA, who understand more than just aesthetics. Suzanne, Marco, and Suzanne’s mother each wore something that honored their roots while feeling fresh and entirely their own.

A Seamless Transition from Chinese Wedding Tea Ceremony into Coastal Elegant Reception

After the tea ceremony, Suzanne and Marco changed into modern, minimalist reception wear. Suzanne slipped into a sleek, one-shoulder gown paired with a sculptural silver necklace, while Marco wore a tailored charcoal-gray suit. The wardrobe shift marked a gentle move from the formality of tradition to the easy flow of celebration.

Their coastal wedding reception was held in a light-filled venue by the ocean. Guests gathered around grazing tables stacked with fruit, cheeses, and pineapple chicken skewers while sipping cocktails. The mood was casual, elevated, and full of joy.

And the couple? They were right there in it—eating, laughing, and soaking in the love.

One of the most special parts of the evening came as the sun began to set. The pair walked along the beach, hand-in-hand, letting the breeze carry their laughter. Their portraits during golden hour are cinematic and full of feeling—playful and intimate, grounded and glowing.

It was less about doing everything “right” and more about being present, together.

How to Celebrate Tradition Without Compromising Style

Suzanne and Marco’s wedding is a beautiful example of how honoring tradition doesn’t have to mean compromising your style. Their Chinese wedding tea ceremony was heartfelt and rooted in generations of meaning. Their modern coastal wedding reception was relaxed, elegant, and perfectly them.

With the help of thoughtful planning, intentional fashion, and subtle design choices, they created a celebration that will stand the test of time. One that was filled with color, culture, and, most importantly, connection.

Elegant Fusion Looks for This Modern Indian Elopement Inspiration

The couple’s fashion was a true highlight of the day. From a modern twist on traditional Indian attire to sleek Western silhouettes, every outfit made a statement. The bride began in an exquisite ivory saree dripping with silver embellishments, paired with stacked bangles, dazzling statement jewelry, and intricate mehndi. Later, she changed into a chic halter gown, complemented by a delicate veil and sculptural earrings—proof that you really can have the best of both worlds. The groom effortlessly matched her energy, wearing both a sharp tuxedo and a classic ivory kurta with subtle embroidery.

Exploring the City, One Magical Moment at a Time

The elopement scenes unfolded throughout the city. From serene vow exchanges in light-filled corners to romantic walks on bustling streets framed by historic buildings. Every moment felt spontaneous yet cinematic, showing just how magical Mexico City can be for couples wanting an elopement that’s both bold and deeply personal.

A Fresh Take on Modern Wedding Tablescapes

The reception setup was minimalist in palette yet rich in texture and detail. A long white table set in a sun-drenched room was adorned with striking blue and purple, pops of vibrant yellow florals, and fresh lemons for a playful contrast. The table was grounded by natural wood and rattan chairs that added an organic warmth to the space. Everything about the setup—down to the matte white plates and simple tapered candles—felt intentional and elegant. Perfect for a modern-day couple seeking simplicity without sacrificing style.

An Idyllic Celebration at One of Spain’s Most Unique Wedding Venues

April 15, 2025 | justine

When a love story begins with the words, “He came into my life at the right time, for the better,” you just know the wedding is going to be filled with heart. Malika and Karim’s romantic big day in southern Spain wasn’t just a wedding—it was an unforgettable celebration set against the most surreal backdrop one could imagine. Tucked away on a cliffside overlooking the sea, Love Garden is one of the most unique wedding venues in Spain, and possibly the world.

From the very beginning, the couple knew they wanted a day that honored their connection to the land and their love for nature, literature, and elegance. “We placed our full trust in our wedding planner, who perfectly translated our vision into decor that enhanced the beauty of the venue,” Malika shared. “It was important for us to choose natural tones… green to blend harmoniously with the landscape, along with wood and white accents.”

What We Love About This Wedding:

  • The cliffside ceremony surrounded by dramatic rock formations and a serene turquoise pool
  • A tree-canopied altar that blended seamlessly with the natural surroundings
  • Reception tables named after book chapters, with personalized books gifted to guests
  • Elegant, nature-inspired decor with white florals, lush greenery, and chandeliers
  • The breathtaking view of Morocco, connecting the day to the groom’s heritage

How to Plan a Wedding Quickly (and Beautifully)

Planning a destination wedding in a short amount of time might sound impossible—but with the right help, it can be done. Malika and Karim worked closely with Fiona from Superplanner, who helped them bring everything together with grace and efficiency.

“We planned this wedding very quickly,” Malika said. “Our wedding planner was in charge of finding the right vendors. We fully aligned with her organizational vision and sense of aesthetics.” They trusted Fiona completely. And that trust paid off. Each vendor brought skill and professionalism, contributing to the elegant, understated atmosphere the couple wanted. “We didn’t want flashy. We wanted professionals capable of bringing our big day to life with expertise and elegance.”

How They Found One of Spain’s Most Unique Wedding Venues

For couples searching for unique wedding venues, Malika and Karim’s pick couldn’t be more inspiring. Love Garden, located near Tarifa—the southernmost point of Europe—offers breathtaking views of Morocco across the sea and feels more like a hidden paradise than an event space.

“Love Garden captivated us the moment we discovered it. Its vast open spaces, natural stone caves, serene water features, and the sun shining at its peak… every element came together perfectly.” The ceremony was set beneath a perfectly manicured tree canopy, with rows of white chairs and a sea of fresh white florals framing the altar. Behind them, cliffs and greenery towered overhead while the ocean sparkled in the distance.

“Emotion was at the heart of our entire wedding ceremony,” Malika said. “Walking down the aisle arm in arm with my brother and seeing my husband waiting at the end deeply moved me—it felt like a beautiful promise of happiness.”

Letting the Landscape Lead the Way for the Reception

The reception took place in a secluded part of the property, surrounded by lush landscaping, dramatic boulders, and soft lighting. The couple leaned into the natural beauty of the location while adding elegant touches—crystal chandeliers dripping from greenery-wrapped arches, long tables adorned with soft white linens, candlelight, and delicate blooms. In the end, the atmosphere felt romantic, whimsical, and surreal all at once.

A special personal touch? Malika, a literature lover, named each table after a book chapter. Guests received hand-selected books chosen just for them. A charming, heartfelt gesture that made everyone feel part of the story.

Slowing Down and Taking It In

One of the couple’s favorite parts? The chance to slow down and truly savor the experience. “We got to stay there for a few days,” Malika shared, “which gave us time to share this sacred experience with family—both during and after the celebrations. It felt like being in our own little bubble. A bubble of nature, filled with unforgettable memories.”

And the celebration didn’t stop after dinner. “Every moment carried deep emotion. The heartfelt speeches from my loved ones and my in-laws, and of course, the celebration itself,” she added. “We danced and celebrated until the early hours, lost in the magic of the night. Time no longer mattered; we embraced every second to the fullest.”

More Than a Backdrop: The Power of Unique Wedding Venues

Your venue sets the tone for your entire wedding, and for Malika and Karim, choosing one of the most unique wedding venues in Spain made everything feel effortlessly magical. From the natural setting to the trusted vendors who helped bring their ideas to life, every detail reflected their story, their values, and their connection to the land.

So if you’re looking for a setting that feels like it was made just for you—one that captures your heart from the moment you arrive—take a note from Malika and Karim. Let the setting speak, and build the rest from there. And of course, surround yourself with people you trust. With the right team, even the wildest dreams can come true.

Minimalist Charm and Mediterranean Magic in this Cyprus Destination Wedding

April 10, 2025 | justine

When Georgia and Joe set their sights on a Cyprus destination wedding, they knew it had to reflect their love, culture, and the stunning Mediterranean landscape. Georgia envisioned a minimal, classic, and timeless celebration—one that would be beautiful now and unforgettable for years to come.

“I didn’t want too much going on,” Georgia shares. “I wanted the location to do most of the talking, with the decor complementing the natural beauty around us rather than competing with it.” This approach let the stunning Cyprus backdrop shine, with elegant touches enhancing the setting without overwhelming it.

Selecting the venue was their first priority. “We had a clear vision for our wedding from the start.” After considering several options, they found the perfect spot, setting the stage for a seamless celebration.

Instead of hiring a wedding planner, Georgia used her detailed planning skills and her mother’s organizational expertise to bring their big day to life. “It was a true team effort.” Pinterest mood boards, a comprehensive PDF, and plenty of spreadsheets guided them. With recommendations from family and friends in Cyprus, they sourced many of their own vendors, ensuring every detail was just as they imagined.

What We Love About This Cyprus Destination Wedding:

Setting the Tone by Welcoming Guests in True Cypriot Style

Hosting a destination wedding meant their guests were there to enjoy not only the wedding day but also the beauty of Cyprus. “We hosted a pre-wedding dinner at our favourite taverna on the island—Vorea’s, a traditional Cypriot tavern in the village,” says Georgia. The evening kicked off the celebrations with traditional meze, local wine, and Greek dancing that kept everyone going until the early hours.

Celebrating Heritage and Love Through Personal Traditions During Their Ceremony

For Georgia and Joe, the ceremony was about more than just vows—it was a celebration of family, heritage, and cherished memories. They chose a church that held deep sentimental value for Georgia’s family. “It was at the top of the village where my family lives, and it held so much sentimental value.” The church had been a place of quiet reflection for her grandfather, making it the perfect setting for this special day. The significance grew even more when Joe proposed to Georgia outside the church at sunset, a moment they would always hold dear.

Opting for a traditional Greek Orthodox ceremony added another layer of meaning, allowing Georgia to share her culture with their loved ones. “It felt so special and emotional to share that moment in front of all our loved ones,” she says, reflecting on the richness of the ceremony.

One of the most memorable parts of the day came after the ceremony. As they left the hilltop church, the sunset created the perfect backdrop for a ride in a retro Mercedes, making the moment feel straight out of a dream. “It was pure magic—one of those moments you just want to freeze in time.” These meaningful traditions and moments made the day truly unforgettable.

Fusing Tradition with Timeless Elegance in Their Cyprus Destination Wedding Fashion

Georgia’s wedding dress was another reflection of her vision—something classic and timeless. After trying on nearly 50 dresses, she found the perfect one. “As soon as I did, it was confirmed—it was the one. The shape was sentimental because both my mum and grandmother wore similar styles for their weddings.” She also added a personal touch by wearing her mum’s original wedding dress to the pre-wedding dinner, tailored into a chic mini.

Joe’s outfit was just as thoughtfully chosen. He wore a green suit that complemented his green eyes and tanned complexion. The color choice was his from the moment he proposed, and he paired it with Gucci loafers and a khaki-faced watch. His groomsmen’s green attire matched the theme, bringing together the look with a coordinated yet timeless touch.

Crafting a Personal and Elegant Celebration at Dafermou Winery

Choosing the reception venue was a bit of a journey. But once Georgia and Joe discovered Dafermou Winery in Lefkara, they knew it was the perfect fit. The winery’s stunning mountain views and minimalist design aligned perfectly with their vision. “It had stunning mountain views combined with a modern, minimalist feel, which fit perfectly with our vision.” Plus, the fact that it’s a winery gave guests the chance to enjoy wine made from the venue’s own grapes. Adding a meaningful connection to the local culture.

The decor was kept simple yet sophisticated, allowing the natural beauty of the venue to be the star. Personal touches like flowers, candles, and fairy lights added a warm, intimate feel, creating a welcoming atmosphere for their guests.

The celebration kicked off with a champagne tower, followed by a delicious dinner and hours of dancing. “It was everything we could have hoped for—full of love, laughter, and the best vibes!” One of their favorite moments was opting for a sweetheart table, allowing them to enjoy a quiet pause together while everyone else dined. “It was such a beautiful way to sit back, take it all in, and just enjoy each other’s company.”

Personalizing Their Cyprus Destination Wedding Day with Meaningful and Fun Details

Georgia and Joe made sure to infuse the celebration with personal elements that captured the joy and energy of the day. A Polaroid camera and guest book became a cherished keepsake, allowing guests to snap photos and leave messages. “It’s such a wonderful way to relive those moments. And we now have such a fun collection of memories to flip through.” The selfie mirror was another hit, giving guests the chance to get creative while adding fun to the celebration.

Some moments truly stood out. “One of my favorite highlights was when a friend of ours sang for us. Joe and I just couldn’t resist joining in. And before we knew it, we were having a full-on bride and groom karaoke session!” The Greek money dance, a traditional part of their culture, provided another unforgettable moment. Neither Georgia nor Joe knew exactly what they were doing, which made it all the more fun. “Then, in true Joe fashion, he decided to give a speech during it. (And yes, he was wearing a vest, as only Joe would.)”

Georgia sums it up perfectly: “Honestly, every single moment was lovely. We really felt like we got to soak it all in, enjoy the time with our guests, and dance the night away. It was perfect!”

Why It’s the Big Moments, Not the Small Details, That Count

As much as the couple meticulously planned every detail, they realized that the small things weren’t as important as the overall atmosphere. “Whether the napkins are Lefkara lace or cotton don’t matter. You remember the incredible time you had, and trust me, your guests won’t even notice those tiny details.”

Her advice for couples planning their own destination wedding? “Create a day that feels right for both of you but also keeps the guests in mind. You want everyone to feel the love and joy, and set the tone for a magical day.”

In the end, it wasn’t the minor hiccups—like a blowing veil—that defined their day. It was the love, joy, and connection Georgia and Joe shared with their guests. Their story is a reminder to focus on what truly matters: the moments that make the day unforgettable.

This Monforte de Lemos Wedding Featured a Custom Vintage-Inspired Wedding Dress

April 8, 2025 | justine

When you know, you know—and for Sabela and Alessandro, their love story started with a twist of fate that led to a timeless celebration in the heart of Galicia. Their romantic Monforte de Lemos wedding brought together vintage charm, cultural nods, and heartfelt personal touches, all set against the dreamy backdrop of a historic manor.

The couple’s journey began in London back in 2016. “We met in the most unexpected way,” Sabela shared. “I’m Spanish, Alessandro is Swiss, and we worked in the same department of a luxury hotel. We were also neighbors!” Alessandro fell first, but it was their official first date that made Sabela realize he was the one.

A few magical months later, Alessandro returned to Switzerland to continue his studies—but they knew distance wouldn’t break what they had. “Some relationships are simply meant to last, and ours was one of them. We were soulmates, and no miles between us could ever break that bond.”

As their love grew stronger across countries, so did their vision for a celebration that felt elegant, timeless, and romantic. “We envisioned our wedding with an elegant, timeless style infused with a romantic vintage feel,” Sabela said. “The color palette featured soft pastel shades of pink, salmon, burgundy, and orange, creating a warm and dreamy atmosphere.”

What We Love About This Monforte de Lemos Wedding

  • A tailor-made vintage-inspired gown with silk and organza details
  • A champagne tower and live 70s music during cocktail hour
  • A personalized pocket square made from the bride’s dress fabric
  • A welcome event featuring a live concert for out-of-town guests

Making Their Guests Feel Welcome Right From The Start of Their Monforte de Lemos Wedding

The couple’s top priorities were clear from the beginning: the venue, music, and food. With guests traveling in from Switzerland and all over Spain, they wanted the wedding weekend to feel like a shared experience from day one.

To set the tone, they hosted a casual welcome event at the Hotel Parador in Monforte de Lemos. A flying food dinner and live music by The Peppermints created the perfect atmosphere. “We had a blast!” Sabela said. It gave everyone a chance to connect, relax, and ease into the celebration.

Choosing a Venue That Let Them Personalize Every Moment

The couple knew they wanted a venue that felt intimate, romantic, and full of character. “We fell in love with the Pazo de Treilán, especially with the dining hall. It is a gorgeous location—romantic, rural, and chic. It’s a small estate compared to others in the region but has many areas to create different ambiences.” Renting the entire property gave them creative freedom to design a day that felt true to them.

“Walking down the aisle with my dad was so beautiful,” Sabela recalled. “Seeing all my loved ones looking at me with tears of joy in their eyes. And seeing the love of my life waiting to marry me!”

Finding the Right Wedding Look That Represented Their Personal Style

Sabela had a strong vision for her look from the beginning—and finding the right designer made all the difference. She worked with Spanish designer Sara Lage to bring her dream dress to life.

“I wanted to give my look a retro flair, with the high neck and puffed organza sleeves, evoking a style from the 60s or 70s,” she shared. The custom gown featured a stunning mix of silk satin, muslin, organza, and bambula in ivory tones.

To complete the look, she wore ivory patent leather shoes from Stuart Weitzman and pearl earrings from her grandmother—sentimental and stylish. Alessandro’s wedding day outfit was just as intentional: a tailor-made dark blue silk suit by Canali, ivory shirt, and a pocket square crafted from extra fabric from Sabela’s dress.

It was thoughtful, personal, and perfectly in sync with the day’s aesthetic.

Keeping Their Monforte de Lemos Wedding Reception True to Who They Are

Their Monforte de Lemos wedding was full of music, personal details, and regional flair. A traditional Galician bagpipe performance kicked off the celebration, followed by an outdoor cocktail hour with food stands, fresh seafood, and a champagne glass tower.

One of the most unique details? The seating chart—hand-painted in watercolor and printed on fabric for a soft, romantic touch that tied in with the venue’s charm.

Throughout the evening, friends and family shared heartfelt speeches, and the newlyweds hit the dance floor to live 70s music by Lexter. “We danced the night away until my feet got numb.”

There Will Be Hiccups—Plan Anyway

Even the most organized couples face last-minute changes. That’s why Sabela brought on a wedding planner in November, after booking their venue and saving design inspo in September. “I found most of them through recommendations and Instagram. My main requirements: aligned on aesthetics and style, experienced, responsive, and resourceful.”

She offered this advice for future couples: “Keep your cool the week before because there will be so many eventualities and unexpected changes that are out of your control.”

JB Tip: Thinking of planning a destination wedding like this Monforte de Lemos wedding? Prioritize communication with your vendors, trust your planner, and don’t forget to carve out time for those once-in-a-lifetime memories—like dancing ‘til your shoes give out.
