Pink Bougainvillea Inspired Casa Hyder Destination Wedding

May 17, 2024 | justine

Megan and Timo imagined their wedding as the best party ever, where marrying your best friend was the highlight. With this vision in mind, their goal was to create an event that not only celebrated their love but also embraced the vibrant energy and artistic charm of their beloved city. Drawing inspiration from the romantic allure of rosa mexicano, they infused their Casa Hyder destination wedding with a pink bougainvillea-inspired color palette, capturing the captivating spirit of Latin American culture in every detail.

With their dedicated vendor team by their side, the couple turned the poolside area into a dreamy ceremony spot, where they exchanged sweet vows amidst stunning florals adorning the property’s iconic door and lush greenery all around. And the beauty didn’t end there! Their alfresco reception was a feast for the eyes, too. Tables overflowed with vibrant blooms, while a breathtaking floral installation and twinkling star lanterns further elevated the atmosphere of their marquee celebration.

The pair’s dedication and hard work truly paid off on their destination wedding day. The atmosphere was alive with vibrant colors and contagious energy, making it an unforgettable experience for everyone involved. Luckily, every special moment was captured by Junebug vendor Mariana Pierce, ensuring that the memories will last a lifetime.

The Couple:

Megan and Timo

The Wedding:

Casa Hyder, San Miguel de Allende, Mexico

The Vision Behind Their Casa Hyder Destination Wedding

We envisioned our wedding feeling like the best party you had ever been to, where you also got to marry your best friend. We wanted it to reflect us—full of love and laughter, with high energy and deep affection. Spring served as our theme, with vibrant blooms and colors. Our design concept was artsy yet timeless, bright and vivid, drawing inspiration from rosa mexicano or Mexican pink, a hue derived from the natural colors of the bougainvillea tree. Thus, pink hues dominated: Mexican pink, mauve, light blush, and magenta. We even served hot pink/purple Agua Fresca de Garambullo, a delicious and refreshing fruit punch made from a local cacti plant.

Mixing Tradition with Modern Touches

We opted for a unique version of Callejoneada, a traditional Mexican street parade, but held it inside the venue rather than on the streets. During cocktail hour by the pool, guests were able to explore all areas of the house while enjoying the festivities. The pool was adorned with petals, mariachis serenaded, a charming donkey made an appearance, and towering Mojigangas—paper mache bride and groom figures—strolled around. Guests indulged in mezcal cocktails and appetizers prepared by our Chef Maye.

How Casa Hyder Set the Stage for Their Big Day

Casa Hyder was always our top choice, and for good reason. No other venue embodies Mexican art, culture, and lifestyle quite like Hyder. Every space, room, and corner takes you on a visual journey through time. The casa is a true gem of the town and will forever hold a special place in our hearts. The stunning white flower arch for our ceremony perfectly complemented the iconic wooden door and vibrant carmine-painted walls of Casa Hyder. With lush gardens, ancient arches, and endless stairways, the house itself provided an unparalleled backdrop for our special day.

Designing Unique Wedding Spaces for Each Moment of Their Big Day

We carefully crafted different wedding segments throughout various spaces around the house, keeping our guests curious and entertained at every turn. We utilized over five distinct areas for the welcome party, ceremony, reception dinner, cocktail hour, and dancing party. Each space was adorned with wedding aesthetics and infused with unexpected delights: a flower-covered burro greeted guests at the front door, a hidden ceremony space awaited below the pool, a vibrant cocktail hour featuring live music, and a garden dinner party unfolded under the glow of 50 towering silver stars. Guests were then guided to an unforgettable dancing party, where they danced the night away on a star-painted dance floor beneath shimmering disco balls and a twinkling starry night sky.

Bold Disco-Inspired Garden Party Baumberhof Wedding

May 15, 2024 | justine

Tyle and Austin had big dreams for their wedding day. They didn’t want just any other celebration; they wanted something unforgettable. So, they devised a brilliant idea–a mix of disco vibes and laid-back garden charm. Their aim? To throw a bash where everyone could let loose and have a blast. They wanted their special day to be one-of-a-kind, leaving a lasting impression on their guests. With a unique venue, bold color palette, and show-stopping flowers and decor—that vision came to life at their Baumberhof wedding.

The couple chose a truly stunning location for their ceremony. Picture this: intricate vaulted ceilings, elegant wrought iron details, and a charming cupola made entirely of windows. To enhance the venue’s charm, they created a pathway lined with flowers leading to the altar, where they exchanged vows surrounded by love. And when it was time to party, the barn transformed into the ultimate reception space. Think vibrant pink tables, funky accents, and a dazzling disco ball installation above a checkered dance floor.

If you’re looking for inspiration to infuse your celebration with fun and personal touches, you’ve hit the jackpot with this one! Prepare to be wowed by every detail expertly of this Baumberhof wedding captured by Kelsey Justice Photography.

The Couple:

Tyle and Austin

The Wedding:

Baumberhof, Edmond, Oklahoma, United States

Colorful, Funky, Chic: Their Baumberhof Wedding Vibe

We knew we wanted our wedding to be colorful, funky, and chic, so we chose a disco-inspired garden party vibe. We gave our wedding party our vibrant, sunset-y color palette and let them have free reign with their color and silhouette. Everyone in our wedding party was the coolest, so we wanted their personalities to shine! We had our suits tailor-made at the Tailory in NYC. Austin wore an auburn suit in a retro-inspired silhouette, and I wore a black silk jumpsuit. We wanted our wedding to feel bespoke, one-of-a-kind, and intimate but also be the party of the year for our guests to enjoy. All of this came together thanks to beautiful details like our florals, custom tapestries, and dance floor, and even a London-style double-decker bus that served coffee and affogatos.

Reliving the Best Parts of Their Baumberhof Wedding Day

The rain that we were so nervous about made only a brief appearance in the morning to green the grass and give us a little luck. Our entire day was filled with music and laughter while we got ready with our family and best friends. The sun was shining, and the vibes were high. Our ceremony started at 5 pm, and our circular seating chart made everyone a part of that moment. We even had our guests say a communal vow with us. After the ceremony wrapped, the guests enjoyed a cocktail hour while we wandered the Baumberhof’s stunning land to get the perfect sunset shots. Then, the reception began with our grand entrance, heartfelt speeches, and mother/son dances. We wasted no time hitting the dance floor. Our song is upbeat, so instead of the traditional first dance, we invited our guests to join us for a group dance to get the night started. We wanted our day to feel like a celebration of our love and all of the people who have loved us along the way.

Advice from the Heart: Putting Yourselves First on Your Special Day

We have so many little “favorites” from the day, but our private dance at the end of the night really stands out. It was low on our priority list. We wanted to be with our guests, so neither of us was prepared for the impact it ended up having. The last moments before our day was gone were spent with us alone in the space we had been obsessing over for more than a year, taking in all of the love in the air one more time. As two known people pleasers, we were fully prepared for wedding planning to be an anxiety-inducing nightmare. How large should it be? Will our guests like it? How will it feel to plan a wedding as a gay couple in Oklahoma? Luckily, we found our incredible planner early on, and she gave us the best advice — the day is about you, do it for yourself. When we shifted our mindset from hosting a party to being the guests of honor, everything suddenly felt so much more exciting! Our biggest takeaway is that your wedding is about your story, so you should write the pages that you would want to read. It was important that people left saying, “That felt like Tyle and Austin!” and not just that it was a fun night! We were beyond intentional when it came to colors, fabrics, looks, rentals, and so much more to ensure that we pumped as much of our personality into our day as possible.

Why the Baumberhoff Was the Ultimate Wedding Venue

We live in Chicago, but we knew we wanted to get married where our roots started, so we decided to get married in Oklahoma! After looking at several venues, The Baumberhoff was the easiest yes. The Baumberhof’s space gave us a private feel on 450 acres with two indoor options that alone are beautiful but are easily transformed into the exact look you want. Not to mention the ability to protect you from that scorching Oklahoma sun. Their team, estate, and various options made Baumberhoff a no-brainer and the venue of our dreams.

Whimsical and Bold Caruso Destination Wedding

May 14, 2024 | justine

Francesca and Arunan have families from around the world, so they decided on a destination wedding to bring everyone together. They love trying new things, so picking a city they’d never been to for their big day sounded like the ultimate thrill. They wanted their big day to feel like a huge celebration where everyone could enjoy themselves. That’s why they planned everything outdoors so that guests could relish in the fresh air and breathtaking views. When their Caruso destination wedding finally happened, it was like stepping into a colorful dream. With beautiful flowers, stunning fashion, and a lively atmosphere, it was a party nobody would ever forget.

Their ceremony unfolded on a cliffside garden, offering an awe-inspiring panorama of the sea and the town below. Vibrant blooms adorned every corner, delicately framing the space, aisle, and altar where the couple exchanged their heartfelt vows. Following this beautiful moment, guests were welcomed to a garden reception where a stunning tablescape awaited them. Lush arrangements adorned the long table, inviting guests to enjoy the visual feast. Above, chandeliers cast a gentle glow, infusing the atmosphere with a whimsical and enchanting vibe.

If your dream wedding involves elegance, coastal views, and a touch of uniqueness, this Caruso destination wedding is perfect for you. The captivating images captured by David Bastianoni beautifully showcase every swoon-worthy detail of this breathtaking event.

The Couple:

Francesca and Arunan

The Wedding:

Belmond Caruso, Amalfi Coast, Italy

Embracing Differences by Blending Cultural and Religious Elements in Their Ceremony

We come from very different cultural and religious backgrounds, so we wanted to ensure we honored all sides of our families. We gave traditional vows, but a Thali necklace was presented to honor the groom’s side. Then, to celebrate part of the bride’s side, a glass was smashed at the end of the ceremony. We also performed a sand ceremony symbolizing the meddling of our backgrounds and families.

Their Caruso Destination Wedding Was an International Gathering of Loved Ones

We aimed for a lively and colorful celebration, steering clear of neutrals and pastels for a modern yet elegant feel. Our priority was ensuring guests felt relaxed and free to enjoy themselves, with all our loved ones gathered from around the world except Antarctica. The day never lacked excitement; it was genuinely a joyful and beautiful occasion. We embraced a non-traditional approach to design, from the invitations to the dinner table and aisle, which perfectly matched our vision. Guest experience was paramount, reflecting in every detail. With nearly 14 years together, we wanted our wedding to feel like a big party, prioritizing outdoor settings for fresh air and stunning scenery.

Falling in Love with Belmond Caruso for Their Venue

Living near Washington, DC, we struggled to find a wedding venue that matched our personalities. We both come from international families, so a destination wedding was the perfect fit. Being adventurous souls, the idea of tying the knot in a city we had yet to explore excited us. The Belmond Caruso instantly captured our hearts, even through online photos. Its beauty is awe-inspiring, and experiencing it in person exceeded all expectations.

Custom Sandals and Traditional Treats: Sharing Their Love Through Handcrafted Gifts

We adored the idea of handmade Italian leather sandals crafted right at Bottega Eva Caruso. Not only are they timeless and durable, but they also hold a special significance, being native to Ravello. Offering our guests the opportunity to customize their own sandals, tailored to their unique preferences and foot measurements, added a personal touch to the experience. Additionally, we wanted to share a taste of Sri Lanka with our loved ones, so we gifted traditional Sri Lankan love cake delicately packaged in hand-dyed palm leaf cake boxes. These heartfelt gestures, including the sandals and cake, reflected our appreciation for both Italian and Sri Lankan traditions, making our wedding celebration even more meaningful.

How Their Vendor Team Made Magic Happen at Their Caruso Destination Wedding

Our wedding planners were the real MVPs, orchestrating every detail of our elaborate three-day affair with unmatched dedication and skill. The hotel felt like it was straight out of a fairytale, and the service provided to us and our guests was truly exceptional. The flowers were beyond breathtaking; I doubt I’ll ever lay eyes on anything quite as spectacular again. David Bastianoni and his team worked wonders with our photos, capturing moments of pure magic that still leave me in awe. Huge props to the team at Beauty Livery for making us feel like absolute royalty with their sweet demeanor and incredible talent. We’re incredibly grateful to have had such a fantastic team of vendors and artists bringing our vision to life.

This Park Chateau Wedding Was a Garden Come to Life

May 12, 2024 | justine

Danielle and Nicholas dreamed of a wedding that was unique, intentional, and elegant. Their journey began with the bridal shower–hinting at the magic of their upcoming celebration–as they poured their hearts into the theme. It all came seamlessly together at their Park Chateau wedding, adorned with soft earthy hues and gentle pastels, surrounded by lush flowers and greenery. It was as if a vibrant garden had sprung to life, making their special day a breathtaking reality.

The expansive property, boasting a gorgeous mansion and manicured gardens, provided the perfect setting for the couple’s ceremony at the stone courtyard. How DIY Touches and a Special Officiant Made Their Park Chateau Wedding Personal to the Couple

We were so nervous that everything would be executed as we envisioned it because we had truly DIYed every aspect of our wedding and coordinated that vision with our vendors. Our favorite part was marrying one another. Nick and I have been together almost nine years after meeting in college. We had envisioned walking down that aisle and seeing one another for the first time for so long. The rabbi who married us has known me my whole life. He did my baby naming, was there for our family in joyous and challenging times, and truly took the time to get to know Nick. Under the chuppah, we kept squeezing each other’s hands, smiling and whispering, “I love you.” It felt so real and personal. We felt like our guests could see how much we loved each other and how excited we were.

Handcrafted Details That Brought Their Wedding Vision to Life

We are definitely most proud of the details. We planned andmade mood boards and PowerPoints for months and months while planning this day. We built every single piece of decor and signage ourselves in our home and even some in our tiny NYC apt before we moved. All our friends and family thought we were in over our heads. Nick and I love to dream, create, and come up with unique ideas, and we have done precisely that for our day. You can see it in the details of all our decor!

Navigating Wedding Planning on a Budget

Nick and I were definitely on a budget when it came to the wedding. I had just finished my medical residency and started working as an Emergency Room Attending Physician, which meant a lot of loans from schooling. We’d also just bought a new home to start a family. We did a great job prioritizing what mattered most and making our money stretch. We made our invitations, spending hours distressing paper, watercolor painting each one, and adding ribbon and wax seals before sending them out. We became experts at DIY projects, from building structures to repurposing items from the bridal shower. Nick’s engineering skills came in handy. Instead of hiring a designer or wedding planner, we did it all, drawing up countless design ideas until everything was perfect. We knew photography was essential, so we didn’t skimp there. Our florist was great at helping us make wise choices with our budget, focusing on critical areas for impact. My cousin’s band, Cause and the Effects, played at our wedding, giving us a family discount. They were terrific, providing live music with their versatile repertoire throughout the event.

How the Bride Kept Her Park Chateau Wedding Look a Secret Until the Aisle

Choosing a dress was a real challenge for me. Having done some bridal modeling before, I had tried on various dresses, but I wanted to find the perfect one for my wedding day. I decided on two, knowing I couldn’t settle on just one style. I also wanted to keep my look a surprise for Nick until I walked down the aisle, which made photos before the ceremony tricky. So, I devised a unique idea: wearing one dress for pictures and changing just before the aisle walk. Only my mom knew about this surprise, keeping everyone else guessing. Nick’s style is simple, traditional, and classic, so I aimed for that during the ceremony with a twist. I was fortunate to meet one of Rita Vinieris’ designers after COVID-19, who made me a custom design, adding a modern, pointed, strapless neckline to a stunning satin dress with a beautiful back adorned with buttons. For my second dress, worn mainly at the reception, I chose a fitted lace gown with intricate applique made by Marina Farbinni, personalized to perfection. For a party look, inspired by my mom’s chic gauntlets from her wedding, I opted for a sleek short dress with a high neck, paired with Loeffler Randall white heels featuring bows, and surprised her by wearing her lace gauntlets. It was such a fun and memorable ensemble.

Transforming a Ballroom Into a Secret Garden Wonderland

One standout feature was the crossing arches adorning the main tables, where flowers cascaded and climbed over, creating a garden-like ambiance down the center. We aimed for height with our florals to add unique flair, opting for a design that stood out from traditional weddings. Our band’s stage was transformed into a living garden, complete with boxes we built, adorned with rattan hanging lights wrapped in vines and flowers. Incorporating our new last name, “Wright,” into our decor became a playful theme: “Welcome, you’re WRIGHT where you belong,” greeted guests, while “WRIGHT this way” guided them to their seats, and “Drinks coming WRIGHT up” beckoned them to the bar. Even our first dance was a labor of love, choreographed to John Legend’s “Conversations in the Dark” after nights of practicing on our checkered dining room floor. We wanted our bridesmaids’ bouquets to evoke the feeling of freshly picked flowers, so we collaborated with our florist to create stunning arrangements in wicker bags. Every detail was chosen with purpose, reflecting our love and intention behind every element of our special day.

Whimsical Gardens Meets Black Tie Affair at This Lotos Club Wedding

May 11, 2024 | justine

Jessica and Brian’s Lotos Club wedding embodied the essence of a timeless celebration. With its picturesque venue, abundant blooms and greenery, classic color palette, and chic attire, their special day had all the ingredients of a dreamy wedding. It was a perfect blend of whimsical garden charm and sophisticated black-tie elegance, creating a truly magical atmosphere for their guests to enjoy.

The ceremony unfolded in the Tennyson Room, where the sparkling chandeliers and intricate window details set the stage. After sharing heartfelt vows, everyone gathered in the Ballroom for the reception, which was transformed into a magical wonderland that brought the beauty of the outdoors inside. Soft lighting, elegant table settings, and stunning florals and greenery adorned the space, creating an atmosphere of pure enchantment. As the night progressed, guests danced the night away in the cozy ambiance of the library.

Thanks to Junebug florist Laura Clare Design,  it had everything they could have hoped for and more. If you’ve been envisioning a classically romantic affair filled with timeless details and personal touches, then this is the perfect inspiration for you. Luckily, Michelle Scott beautifully captured this breathtaking day. These stunning photos are filled with ideas that will never go out of style.

The Couple:

Jessica and Brian

The Wedding:

Lotos Club, New York, United States

Creating Three Modern Yet Timeless Wedding Looks

I had an entire inspiration board for a modern, drapey silk charmeuse dress. I wanted a dress that felt sophisticated since I work in fashion, yet one that would fit in with the old-world aesthetic of Lotos Club. I wore my grandma’s vintage diamond and pearl earrings, my mom’s diamond necklace, and Loeffler Randall shoes. I also added a pair of custom sleeves to my dress to give it an edge. After the ceremony, I changed into a pair of Vera Wang lace sleeves. My after-party dress was a short, sparkly Johnathan Simhkai with sparkly Prada mules. My husband wore a custom-made suit from the notorious Martin Greenfield, which was midnight navy and Magnanni Tuxedo shoes.

Hand-Painted Details Created by the Bride

We hosted an intimate secret garden black-tie affair wedding. Picture enchanted details at every turn—from the fully watercolor invitation suites to the handmade watercolor menus adorned with hand-applied custom crest wax-sealed satin bows. Each romantic detail contributed to the nuanced romantic atmosphere. Every table number was illustrated and placed upon a mossy patch inside of a cloche. The tablecloths were hand-painted, and the napkins were custom-printed. Each hand-painted element, as well as the entire wedding design itself, was imagined and created by me, who is a designer and illustrator.

Discovering Old-World Charm: The Story Behind Their Wedding Venue

Although we initially sought a modern venue, our search led us to the enchanting old-world charm of The Lotos Club in New York City’s Upper East Side. Serendipity brought us here one day while wandering the neighborhood, and we were immediately captivated by its intricate charm, ornate architectural details, and elegant grand piano. Our wedding celebrated with our 75 closest friends and family members was beyond extraordinary—a perfect-sized gathering for a magical affair.

How Jessica Used Her Background in Design to Make Their Lotos Club Wedding Unique

At our wedding, everything was handmade and custom-designed, reflecting our personal touch throughout the event. I took on the task of creating all the branding and design elements myself. From the charming place cards with illustrations and keys to the elegant invitations, save the dates, and menus adorned with custom illustrations and sealed with bows, every detail was crafted with care. I also made the drink menus, signage, programs, party favors, packaging, table numbers, and even the tablecloths by hand. Each element contributed to the cohesive and unique design that made our wedding day truly special.

This Clara Joyce Flowers Wedding Was Filled to the Brim With Florals

May 9, 2024 | justine

George and Drew’s decision to exchange vows on their flower farm felt like the perfect fit. They wanted their wedding to showcase the farm’s vibrant colors, lush surroundings, and distinctive charm. With the help of an incredible team of wedding vendors, they brought their vision to life beautifully. Every aspect of their Clara Joyce Flowers wedding–from the bright colors to the abundant flowers and greenery–exuded their unique personalities. It was a celebration that truly reflected who they are and the love they share.

In a picturesque setting among the rows of colorful flowers, the dashing grooms said their “I dos” surrounded by eye-catching arrangements. Their outdoor ceremony was nothing short of breathtaking, with nature as their stunning backdrop. After tying the knot, the greenhouse reception dazzled with a floating installation adorned with foliage, fresh blooms, and pendant lighting.

Every detail of their big day, from the meticulously crafted accents to their stylish attire, reflects the love, effort, and creativity they poured into it. Prepare to be blown away by these captivating images by Lucas Leeland. Each photo is brimming with inspiration for garden and greenhouse weddings, showcasing the beauty and romance of their special day.

The Wedding:

Clara Joyce Flowers, Illinois, United States

Creating an Unforgettable Clara Joyce Flowers Wedding Experience

George and I love our passions, projects, and things (we’re collectors) and happen to live on my cut flower farm. I always knew that I wanted to get married on the farm ground that I grew up on, and I wanted to make sure that our design styles and selections were unique, fun, intentional and created an experience for our guests. We went into planning with the mindset of keeping color, lushness, oddities, and uniquities at the forefront of what we were creating—choices like lush color-forward dahlias and texture-rich florals kept the visual intrigue ever-present. Our collection of vintage furniture pieces, antique blue willow dishware, and pre-war aviary taxidermy were all incorporated to add layers to the event.

How Music and Flowers Set the Stage for Their Ceremony

George works in the classical music industry and is ever surrounded by incredibly talented musicians. A few of his good Judy’s entertained our guests pre- and post-ceremony, which added so much to our wedding experience. I work in the floral, wedding, and event industries and was able to curate a tremendous support team of designers and flower growers to pull this special event off. Our ceremony was outdoors, positioned in a clearing among the rows of flowers. Our grounds and design team brought in tree saplings to provide shade for our guests, grew hundreds of hanging Boston ferns to be suspended over our guests during dinner, designed thousands and thousands of floral stems, and jumped in at any moment to make the day so special.

Personal Details That Made Their Big Day Special to Them

Our wedding day was perfect, culminating in years spent collecting meaningful elements, collaborating with our vendors, crafting every detail carefully, and seeing everything come together in a beautiful crescendo, exceeding our wildest dreams. Some highlights included our unique escort card bud vase wall, where guests could find their seats and take home a floral-filled bud vase as a keepsake. Another cherished touch was the vintage blue willow dishware, a nod to my family’s tradition of dining on these special plates during memorable occasions. George, myself, and our families scoured the country to find authentic pieces, and seeing our guests dine on these cherished patterns was incredibly meaningful. These personal touches made our day unforgettable, reflecting who we are and what we love as a couple.

Bud VaseWedding Favors That Doubled As Decor

Our wedding favors were part of the design and interactive element of the day. After our guests were done walking the endless rows of blooming dahlias, they made their way to our reception greenhouse and were welcomed by a wall covered in individual bud vases. Each bud vase had a guest’s name and table number on it. They took those bud vases with them to their table setting, adding to the decor, and also got to take that home with them at the end of the night.

From her warm & down to earth personality to her spot-on recommendations, we were obsessed with Meagan from the get-go. I highly recommend Marta if you’re looking for an elopement adventure photographer or a traditional wedding photographer who can effortlessly incorporate the outdoorsy/adventure pics, too. Review: “You will start with a photographer and end with a friend. Alex was absolutely amazing every step of the way. She is so easy to talk to and be around and makes you feel right at home. Her confidence, experience, and style show through in every photo that she takes. Not only was she making sure to get each important picture, but she was also helping pin boutonnieres, bringing the groom his very special letter, and guiding us through filling out our marriage license. She makes sure to get to know each couple and their family to be able to capture the best candid moments. She nailed every single shot, and I have pictures of every single one of my guests. Not a moment was missed. Her professionalism and communication are simply outstanding. She made sure I knew exactly where she was going to be and when, and she worked beautifully with my vendors, all while being a fly on the wall. 9. Hennessy Photo Co

Photography style: Alternative documentary

Good for: The former emo kids

Review: “Steph is amazing! She was one of the first vendors we knew we needed to reach out to. She made us feel like our weird wedding ideas were perfect because they were, for us. She is all about doing your own thing with your wedding day. She is great at making even the most awkward people feel good in front of the camera (hi, it’s us), and it really felt like we were just hanging out with a friend who happened to be taking awesome pictures at the same time. It was great to do our engagement photos with her beforehand as well, which were included so we could all get to know each other. Steph was also really helpful in figuring out our schedule for the day–ask her for help with that! Our photos turned out amazing, and we’re so happy we went with her.”

10. Madeline J Studios

Photography style: Documentary photojournalism

Good for: Couples who want every small, candid moment captured

Review: ” I can’t say enough wonderful things about Maddy. She is an incredibly talented photographer and the kindest human. She made us feel at ease on our wedding day, and it truly felt like she was there as our friend. She helped us develop (and stick to) our wedding timeline, and she captured so many sweet and special moments throughout the day. We feel so lucky to have found Maddy and HIGHLY recommend her to everyone. She is truly delightful, and her photography is magic!

11. Mikayla Renee Photo

Photography style: Classic documentary

Good for: Couples who want to capture the beauty of the mountains as much as they want portraits

Review: “Fun fact: I chose to elope in Colorado solely because I found Mikayla’s page online and knew she was exactly what I wanted for my wedding day. She made all of my elopement/micro-wedding dreams come true. The entire experience with Mikayla was so effortless and my wedding day was the easiest day, because she is SO GOOD at what she does. 10/10 cannot recommend her enough!”

12. Justyna E Butler Photography

Photography style: Cinematic documentary

Good for: Couples who want to get up and enjoy the sunrise

Review: “Not often do you find a photographer who is willing to leave her home at 3 AM, all in the name of capturing the best sunrise light for your special day – that was my first indicator of just how passionate Justyna is about her work. She is one of the most calming and encouraging souls I have had the pleasure of meeting. She was relaxed throughout our entire day and encouraged my husband and me to be the same way regardless of the environment we were shooting in. She takes time to be genuine and embrace every moment – even the unexpected ones! She is the perfect balance of spontaneous and someone who puts your mind at ease. She was so well prepared for everything during our day. My husband and I, being from Kansas, are not accustomed to the chilly mountaintop temperatures of CO. She encouraged us to get out of our comfort zone, yet also prioritized “breaks” to go back to our car and warm up! When I think about my special day with Mark, all I can say is there was so much joy and love in everything we did. Justyna was absolutely a catalyst for that joy, and I wouldn’t have wanted anyone else to join us on our adventure”

13. Hughes Photo Co.

Photography style: High-fashion editorial

Good for: Couples who want photos that look like they belong in Vogue

Review: Christopher was the absolute best decision that my husband and I made for our wedding. Not only was he personable and caring, but he was also very respectful. He made our wedding day so memorable. He was so fun to work with during the pictures, and also behind the scenes. He even hyped me up on my wedding day and made me feel beautiful. Everyone had a blast, and he made us all feel so comfortable. 10 out of 10 would recommend having him. You will not regret it. I can’t wait to see how our wedding pictures turned out. I will never be able to thank him enough for all he did.”

14. McKenzie Bigliazzi Photography

Photography style: Alternative documentary

Good for: Couples who want to feel completely comfortable with who they are on their wedding day

Review: “We booked Kenzie as two brides, and when we finally met and had our special day, we were married as bride and groom. The amount of love, comfort, and acceptance that Kenzie provided to my husband, who is transgender, is as if we’ve been friends our entire lives. The talent, the love, the personality, the location, and finally, KENZIE herself!?! Come on…SAY LESS AND BOOK HER!”

15. In Love and Adventure

Photography style: Nature-inspired storytelling

Good for: Couples that want to run off and elope, just the two of them

Review:  “Planning a wedding is tough, but trying to plan a wedding out of state… even harder. This is where Kelly comes in. After finding her on Instagram, I just felt like she was exactly who we needed for our day. From our first call to our last check, I felt so much at ease knowing Kelly was helping plan our special day. Not only did the find the most epic location, but they helped us plan our timeline. I’m sure being an indecisive bride wasn’t the easiest for Kelly to manage, but she and Alex knocked our day out of the park. I felt like we just spent the day with two of our best friends. I can not recommend Kelly enough. 5 stars doesn’t even begin to cover how amazing she did”

Classic Masia Egara Destination Wedding Full of Dancing and Delicious Food

May 5, 2024 | justine

From the beginning of their relationship, Allison envisioned a wedding with a bohemian touch. Toby, accustomed to formal suits at work, looked forward to dressing more casually for their special day. And guess what? It all unfolded just as they had dreamed! Their Masia Egara destination wedding combined timeless elegance with an earthy color palette accented by vibrant splashes of orange (Allison’s favorite color), lush flowers, and stylish attire. It was even better than they had hoped–a party they’ll never forget.

The couple exchanged heartfelt vows in their garden ceremony, surrounded by stunning blooms and vibrant foliage, creating a truly unforgettable moment. As the festivities continued into the charming courtyard reception, guests were greeted by long tables adorned with an abundance of flowers, greenery, and twinkling candles. To add even more enchantment, a breathtaking display of blooms, flowers, and lanterns hung above the tables, elevating the beauty of their already magical day.

Gathering their loved ones for such a meaningful event meant the world to the pair, and they aimed to fill every moment of the celebration with the love they shared. Their wedding day seamlessly combined classic elegance with their unique style, reflecting who they are as a couple. I wore an Amsale wedding dress for our big day. It was important for me to wear a dress by a Black wedding dress designer, and Amsale’s gowns are impeccably cut, beautifully tailored, and stylistically stand the test of time. I wanted to avoid looking back at wedding photos and feel that my dress appeared dated. The beauty look was simple, nothing dramatic. I kept my natural curls loose, and my makeup was natural. I wanted to look like myself on the wedding day.

How Masia Egara Set the Stage for Their Perfect Day

We chose our venue because it is a beautiful burnt orange color, which is my favorite. We knew that the Masia’s facade would work perfectly with our color scheme, earth oranges, and pinky peach hues selection. As soon as we stepped through the gates into the courtyard, we fell in love with the beautiful gardens and rustic terra cotta-colored facade of Masia Egara. It was the perfect location. With the venue secured, we moved on to catering, photography, videography, lighting, music, officiant, transportation, and other logistics involved in making our day unforgettable. I took an active role throughout the process, sharing my feedback on everything from the color palettes, flower types, lamps, and place-setting designs that our wedding planner procured. We were ecstatic on our wedding day because all of the vendors delivered, and The Experialist made our wedding dreams a reality.

Allison’s and Toby’s Most Memorable Masia Egara Destination Wedding Moments

Allison: The most memorable part of the day was the dinner and the batucada. The caterer has links to El Bulli, which was previously ranked among the best restaurants in the world. The caterers were creative and dynamic and delivered an incredible meal, which was essential to me, a self-proclaimed foodie. The batucada was a drumming performance that helped guests transition from the dinner to the dance floor
Toby: The most memorable part of the day was when our photographer pulled us aside for a private photo session at the venue. In all of the excitement of the day, we were able to take a few minutes to just be the two of us—profoundly in love and surrounded by beauty.

With the help of their planner and Junebug vendor, Amora Bali Weddings, every detail was carefully curated to create the perfect atmosphere. Seamlessly weaved together, the laid-back feel of the beach paired with the elegance of traditional Balinese design created an overall luxurious space.

The couple exchanged vows in a truly beautiful setting amidst the sand and sea. They stood beneath a gorgeous arch decked out with lush flowers and foliage, setting a stunning scene for their ceremony. Later, as night fell, their cave reception turned into something truly enchanting. Twinkling candles added to the magic, making it a night to remember for everyone.

If you’ve always dreamed of a getaway celebration by the beach filled with dreamy florals, you’re in for a treat. Keep scrolling and make sure not to miss a single detail captured by Sriwijaya Story.

Their Samabe Resort Wedding Was a Combination of Beach Bliss, Coastal Chic, and Balinese Vibes

We loved the option of a beach wedding in Nusa Dua, with a more intimate and luxurious vibe while focusing not only on the bigger picture but also the details to make the perfect connection between the casual beach, traditional Balinese design, and our small luxurious twist. We managed to complete and fit these words in our ceremony through a combination of locally arranged flowers, Balinese flower girls and page boys, a Cellist and Violinist, and small details arranged by our wedding planner, for example, a small Balinese surfboard for every guest during dinner with there own name on it as a gesture of gratitude for attending our wedding. We wanted a combination of beach and nature. Samabe Resort had the option to have dinner in a cave for something natural besides the beach. Also, the cave dinner looked absolutely beautiful with the decorations and candles.

Bespoke Beach Elegance and Tailor-Made Moments

The most memorable part of our wedding was the start of the ceremony, mainly when I walked down the stairs next to a cliff until the kiss took place at the end of the ceremony. The ambiance was magical, perfectly organized, and planned by our wedding planner. The beach theme exceeded our own ideas with every detail tailor-made and designed. While I walked down the stairs, through the trees, flowers and heard the waves hitting the cliff, there were the Balinese page boys and flower girls who, in the end, guided the bride to the altar where the path to the altar was decorated with local flowers designed to the theme and the wedding dress of the bride and groom.

Why a Wedding Planner is Essential for Foreign Couples

If you’re foreign, we advise you to hire a wedding planner with a known track record. For us, we worked with Amora Bali Weddings. She arranged our wedding day from the beginning to the end. Particularly if you’re from abroad, this would be very helpful in every aspect of organizing your wedding. We were filled with joy that the most important ones in our lives were willing to fly across the globe, from Amsterdam to Bali, to be a part of our unforgettable day. And the possibility that the guest list could be adjusted and fitted in the last few days before attending. I think it would not have been possible to make the previous adjustments quickly without the help of our wedding planner, Amora Bali Weddings.

Adjusting Expectations: From Elopement to Small Group Celebration

At first, we wanted an elopement wedding package. Unfortunately, we had to adjust our package after a while because friends and family liked to attend our wedding. Therefore, the package changed from elopement to a small group/intimate wedding package. This also adjusted our budget planning, especially after hiring a Violinist and Cellist for the wedding ceremony, which gave us the last and most important personal touch with our own music played during the ceremony. The total cost of organizing a wedding in Bali, with everything in it, for example, from your dress, suit, honeymoon, and the wedding itself, came out cheaper than we could have wished for compared to the prices and service performance in the Netherlands or Europe.

Bali’s Signature Touch: Wooden Surfboards as Unique Wedding Souvenirs

A local artist made small wooden surfboards with the names of our guests and the location on them. This small surfboard is a well-known souvenir in Bali, and by adding the names and location of the wedding, it has become a personal keepsake.
