Megan and Timo imagined their wedding as the best party ever, where marrying your best friend was the highlight. With this vision in mind, their goal was to create an event that not only celebrated their love but also embraced the vibrant energy and artistic charm of their beloved city. Drawing inspiration from the romantic allure of rosa mexicano, they infused their Casa Hyder destination wedding with a pink bougainvillea-inspired color palette, capturing the captivating spirit of Latin American culture in every detail.
With their dedicated vendor team by their side, the couple turned the poolside area into a dreamy ceremony spot, where they exchanged sweet vows amidst stunning florals adorning the property’s iconic door and lush greenery all around. And the beauty didn’t end there! Their alfresco reception was a feast for the eyes, too. Tables overflowed with vibrant blooms, while a breathtaking floral installation and twinkling star lanterns further elevated the atmosphere of their marquee celebration.
The pair’s dedication and hard work truly paid off on their destination wedding day. The atmosphere was alive with vibrant colors and contagious energy, making it an unforgettable experience for everyone involved. Luckily, every special moment was captured by Junebug vendor Mariana Pierce, ensuring that the memories will last a lifetime.

The Vision Behind Their Casa Hyder Destination Wedding
We envisioned our wedding feeling like the best party you had ever been to, where you also got to marry your best friend. We wanted it to reflect us—full of love and laughter, with high energy and deep affection. Spring served as our theme, with vibrant blooms and colors. Our design concept was artsy yet timeless, bright and vivid, drawing inspiration from rosa mexicano or Mexican pink, a hue derived from the natural colors of the bougainvillea tree. Thus, pink hues dominated: Mexican pink, mauve, light blush, and magenta. We even served hot pink/purple Agua Fresca de Garambullo, a delicious and refreshing fruit punch made from a local cacti plant.
Mixing Tradition with Modern Touches
We opted for a unique version of Callejoneada, a traditional Mexican street parade, but held it inside the venue rather than on the streets. During cocktail hour by the pool, guests were able to explore all areas of the house while enjoying the festivities. The pool was adorned with petals, mariachis serenaded, a charming donkey made an appearance, and towering Mojigangas—paper mache bride and groom figures—strolled around. Guests indulged in mezcal cocktails and appetizers prepared by our Chef Maye.
How Casa Hyder Set the Stage for Their Big Day
Casa Hyder was always our top choice, and for good reason. No other venue embodies Mexican art, culture, and lifestyle quite like Hyder. Every space, room, and corner takes you on a visual journey through time. The casa is a true gem of the town and will forever hold a special place in our hearts. The stunning white flower arch for our ceremony perfectly complemented the iconic wooden door and vibrant carmine-painted walls of Casa Hyder. With lush gardens, ancient arches, and endless stairways, the house itself provided an unparalleled backdrop for our special day.
Designing Unique Wedding Spaces for Each Moment of Their Big Day
We carefully crafted different wedding segments throughout various spaces around the house, keeping our guests curious and entertained at every turn. We utilized over five distinct areas for the welcome party, ceremony, reception dinner, cocktail hour, and dancing party. Each space was adorned with wedding aesthetics and infused with unexpected delights: a flower-covered burro greeted guests at the front door, a hidden ceremony space awaited below the pool, a vibrant cocktail hour featuring live music, and a garden dinner party unfolded under the glow of 50 towering silver stars. Guests were then guided to an unforgettable dancing party, where they danced the night away on a star-painted dance floor beneath shimmering disco balls and a twinkling starry night sky.
