Classic Gleneagles Hotel Wedding Overflowing With Flowers

June 27, 2024 | justine

Domenique and Nick’s Gleneagles Hotel wedding had all the ingredients needed for a truly timeless celebration. From the awe-inspiring venue to the stunning arrangements and chic attire, this dreamy event had everything they could ever hope for and more. What made it even more impressive? They planned the entire event themselves!

They made their dream big day come true with flawless execution. And what a setting they chose! The historic estate, with its lavish interiors, provided the perfect backdrop. The bold ballroom ceremony space was adorned with breathtaking florals, creating an enchanting atmosphere for their vow exchange. Transforming the same space for the reception, lush blooms, greenery, and candles graced the tables were added for an ultra-romantic and whimsical touch.

If you’re dreaming of a classic celebration filled with timeless details and personal touches that reflect your unique style as a couple, this Gleneagles Hotel wedding is the perfect inspiration. Junebug vendor Ricky Baillie beautifully captured every moment of this breathtaking day, and we’re thrilled to share it with you here.

The Couple:

Domenique and Nick

The Wedding:

Gleneagles Hotel, Scotland

Why They Chose to Have a Gleneagles Hotel Wedding

Gleneagles hold a special place in both of our hearts. It was where we shared our first overnight stay together, and since then, we’ve made it a tradition to visit every year. It’s a place filled with cherished memories, making it the perfect location for our wedding day.

QR Code Fun: How They Made Their Wedding Favors Interactive

We added a fun twist to our wedding favors by giving out cocktails in bottles with QR codes. When scanned, the codes led our guests to a hilarious video featuring our three-year-old, encouraging them to enjoy their drinks. It was a playful and memorable touch that had everyone laughing and enjoying the moment.

Elevating Their Ceremony with Personal Touches

We wrote our own vows, pouring our hearts into each word, and took our time selecting a celebrant who would truly match our personalities. Andrew D. Scott, our celebrant, exceeded our expectations, bringing warmth and understanding to our ceremony that perfectly reflected who we are as a couple.

From Start to Finish: Embracing Every Moment of Their Special Day

We dedicated a lot of time to infuse our wedding with our personalities, making sure every detail reflected who we are. It truly felt like “us” in every way. The entire day was simply breathtaking, from the beginning to the end. Surprisingly, we found ourselves at the end of the night realizing how much quality time we had spent together. Unlike many couples who feel they didn’t have enough time, we cherished every moment together throughout the day.

The Perfect Collaboration: Organizing Their Wedding Together

Taking charge of the entire event ourselves was quite an adventure. We maintained high energy levels throughout the day, ensuring everything ran smoothly. Organizing the entire event felt like the perfect amount of diy for us. We collaborated on every decision and were both pleased with every choice we made together.

Colorfully Timeless Marigny Opera House Destination Wedding

June 23, 2024 | justine

With guests flying in from around the world, Laura and Stuart wanted to make sure their big day was unforgettable for everyone. They focused on filling their celebration with love, joy, lively music, and delicious food. That’s why they chose New Orleans, a city known for its vibrant energy. With their unique venue setting the tone, their Marigny Opera House destination wedding became a colorful and timeless event that perfectly matched their vision.

They chose the historic former church turned opera house as the perfect backdrop for their vows. The space was adorned with black Bentwood Thonet chairs and beautiful aisle arrangements. After the ceremony, they embraced the NOLA tradition with a second-line parade through the streets. Upon returning to the opera house, the celebration continued with a reception featuring long tables adorned with flowers, candles, and gold settings.

On their wedding day, the couple’s dedication and effort were evident to all. The destination celebration was full of energy, leaving a lasting impact on everyone present. Junebug vendor Dallas and Sabrina skillfully captured the enchantment with breathtaking photos, highlighting the personal touches that made the day truly unforgettable.

The Couple:

Laura and Stuart

The Wedding:

Marigny Opera House, New Orleans, Louisiana, United States

Why They Chose Marigny Opera House Destination Wedding

We opted for a destination wedding because, while we live in London, all our family and friends are spread across the US and the UK. This meant there would never be one convenient city for everyone on our list. So, we chose a place where no one lived, but it was one of our dream destinations. New Orleans is so colorful and full of life and history, and the food is incredible, so it felt like the perfect place. Once we decided on the city, I started researching venues and fell in love with the Marigny Opera House, which inspired the design of the entire wedding. Overall, no stone was left unturned for this wedding—from the colors to the flowers, the food, and the drinks. We spent a lot of time creating something that felt like us but also that people would enjoy.

A Sweet and Short Yet Personal Ceremony

Our entire ceremony was incredibly sweet and personal. Our dear friend Emily Sears officiated, which made it even more special. We also wrote our own vows, adding a personal touch that meant a lot to us. The ceremony was perfect—short and sweet, just the way we wanted it. The intimate atmosphere and the heartfelt words made it a moment we’ll always cherish.

Drawing Design Inspiration from Marigny Opera House

The Marigny Opera House has stunning, colorful floors that inspired our color palette. We used the rich rust color for the chair pads on our Bentwood Thonet chairs, the lilac tone in our florals, black for our bridal party dresses, and the shoulder bows on my wedding dress. The floors influenced our design choices, inspiring an eclectic and colorful yet elegant theme. Despite our winter wedding, we avoided a traditional “wintery” feel. We also love vintage furniture and made sure to include it. We created a mood board for our wedding planner, who helped us find the right vendors to achieve our vision.

Savoring Authentic Creole Cuisine and Crafting Signature Cocktails

For the food, our top priority was authentic Creole/Cajun cuisine, which tasted amazing. During the cocktail hour, we had a raw oyster bar and passed Creole bites. For dinner, we featured a Creole rice bar with various toppings and sides. It was delicious. Cocktails were equally important to us, so we spent much time choosing our signature drinks. We partnered with Chopin Vodka and Mezcal Campante to create special cocktails. We had a Bloody Mary bar with ZingZang mix, vodka or mezcal options, and add-ons like pickled okra. We each chose a signature cocktail—one with vodka and one with mezcal.

Bringing a New Orleans Tradition to Their Marigny Opera House Destination Wedding

Since none of our family members are from New Orleans, many have never heard of a second-line parade. So when the Kinfolk Jazz Band showed up, it was really fun to see everyone’s reaction to the fact that we were about to embark on a police-escorted foot parade around the neighborhood. My Midwestern aunts kept telling me what a “hoot” it was.

Navigating the Challenges of a Destination Wedding with a Trusted Wedding Planner

Get a good wedding planner you trust—it’s worth the money, especially for a destination wedding. Planning a wedding in New Orleans while living in London is no joke. We tried to visit in person to plan and meet vendors, but Hurricane Ida hit New Orleans the week we were supposed to go, so we got stuck in New York. Leading up to our wedding day, we had never even set foot in our venue, so we relied on our planner to get things right, and they did!

Starting the Celebration with Personalized Souvenirs at Their Marigny Opera House Destination Wedding Welcome Party

Upon returning to the venue after the second-line parade, we welcomed everyone with shots of Mezcal Campante and a bite of dark chocolate to kick off the party. These were served in custom shot glasses featuring our names and wedding dates, which guests were welcome to keep as souvenirs. We wanted to give something useful and not too bulky, especially since everyone had traveled for the wedding.

This Palazzo Vanneschi Wedding Was Naturally Beautiful

June 18, 2024 | justine

Heather and Daniel dreamed of a wedding that was both gorgeous and true to themselves. They didn’t want it to be overly complicated. They searched for vendors who understood their style and could bring their vision to life without constant supervision, and their dream came true when they discovered the perfect venue. With everything in place—a beautiful color scheme, stunning florals, and stylish attire—their Palazzo Vanneschi wedding was exactly what they hoped for and more. It was a timeless celebration that fulfilled all their wishes.

The couple’s garden ceremony was a beautiful sight, with an elegant asymmetrical arch framing their heartfelt vows. The magic carried on to their charming courtyard reception, where a long table was filled with a lavish spread of flowers, greenery, and candles. Everything was illuminated by the soft twinkle of string lights, creating a warm and enchanting atmosphere for their celebration to unfold.

The pair effortlessly blended timeless elegance with their own personal flair on their special day. Thanks to Junebug vendor Studio Fotografico Bacci, every beautiful detail and memorable moment of their enchanting soirée was skillfully captured. If you’re a romantic couple searching for wedding ideas that exude a magical vibe, you’ve come to the perfect place for inspiration.

Choosing the Perfect Venue: Their Journey to Palazzo Vanneschi Wedding

We both work in very busy fields, me in Fashion Marketing and Daniel in Software Engineering and Data Science, so we needed to make the right decisions to make our wedding as beautiful as possible without too much fuss. For this, we needed to pick the right vendors who understood our vision and our taste and could execute without micromanaging. We chose the Palazzo Vanneschi in Tuscany for the venue (which also doubled as accommodation), where they had experience with weddings, and with the venue being so beautiful, there was very little need for extra embellishments. We wanted the wedding to be beautiful and feel genuine and authentic simultaneously, so this was the perfect solution.

How Their Ceremony Celebrated Their Different Cultures

My brother performed the ceremony, and my husband and I–from New Zealand, Germany, and the USA–incorporated elements from all cultures. My brother even had to learn a bit of German. Lucia, our keyboard player for the ceremony, had to step in at the last minute and really pulled off a beautiful result. We were all blown away.

Mixing Retro and Modern Styles for Their Wedding Attire

I picked a beautiful Valentino gown for my main dress, and it was important that we did the ceremony, dinner, and first dance in this look. From there, I changed into a silk Peter Pilotto gown I could dance in. Retro with a modern take was the brief for hair and makeup, and it worked out even better than in the practice. Daniel wore a Prada suit to complement my dress.

Why the Small Stuff Doesn’t Matter at the End of the Day

Don’t sweat the small stuff! It is really not worth it. At the end of the day, what really matters is that you have a beautiful day. We weren’t even sure if we had chairs for people to sit in for the ceremony, but everything worked out perfectly. Delegation is your best friend.

Preparing for the Palazzo Vanneschi Wedding Day with Trusted Friends

I decided that on our big day, I wanted to be surrounded by friends I trusted and knew would make the lead-up a stress-free time. I ended up inviting even more friends to get ready with me before the event! I picked people with whom I had been through some of life’s journeys and who meant something to me. So it was like they were also handing me off to this next stage in life.

You’re Not Going to Want to Miss This Summer Camp Come to Life Wisconsin Wedding

June 17, 2024 | justine

Tori and Jared had a clear vision for their big day: a celebration of their love and the cherished community that surrounded them. With this in mind, they curated every detail with care, ensuring that each element reflected their deep gratitude to their loved ones. Opting for a summer camp Wisconsin wedding, they transformed their celebration into an immersive experience, brimming with unique touches and heartfelt gestures that left everyone feeling not just invited but truly valued and cherished.

For their greenhouse forest ceremony, the couple exchanged vows under a beautiful canopy of trees. This was followed by an atrium reception adorned with romantic floral arrangements and the soft glow of candles and string lights. Later, they danced the night away, transitioning to a lively silent disco that kept the celebration going strong.

With overall guiding themes of “Velvet & Glass,” “Kayaking & Canoeing,” and “Minnesota Love,” the pair truly pulled out all the stops for their wedding. Captured beautifully by Junebug vendor J. Olson Weddings, their Wisconsin wedding is filled with creative, steal-worthy ideas that made the day unforgettable for everyone involved.

The Couple:

Tori and Jared

The Wedding:

The Atrium, Solon Springs, Wisconsin, United States

Navigating Wedding Planning with Gratitude For Their Loved Ones

Despite occasional decision fatigue and overwhelming choices, we focused on our north star of “community first.” A wedding is as much about the couple as it is about the community supporting them. Prioritizing our community helped us manage planning stress and keep our loved ones’ happiness in mind. Our guiding themes were “Velvet & Glass,” “Kayaking & Canoeing,” and “Minnesota Love.” With these themes, we organized special events for early arrivals, created a memorial station built by my father, displayed framed artwork with a family tree vibe, and set up a private booth for personal recordings. Guided by gratitude, we opened our prep rooms in the morning, leading to an unforgettable day filled with meaningful experiences.

How Their Vows at The Atrium Symbolized Community Connection

The Atrium’s Greenhouse offers a magical forest ceremony location, complete with oak forest aisles and railroad tie seating for a fairy tale atmosphere, weather permitting. One memorable moment was the birds singing in the trees. I surprised Jared with a secret rendition of “All I Want is You” from Juno, performed by our live guitarist during the aisle song, which almost brought him to tears. Our vows focused on gratitude towards our community, acknowledging that our celebration wouldn’t have been possible without their love and support. We pledged to include and support them beyond this day, emphasizing that we’re all together.

Navigating Wedding Day Surprises with Grace and Gratitude

Our advice: have a plan, but also be open to letting it go for spontaneous moments of beauty. As they say, “Surround yourself with people who plan in decades but live in moments.” Enjoy the planning process, but if it becomes overwhelming, trust that your loved ones will make the day everything it needs to be and more.

How Their Summer Camp Wisconsin Wedding Venue Mirrored Their Upbringing and Passions

We wanted a venue that wasn’t just beautiful and available but also represented our backgrounds. Jared grew up on a Community-Supported Agriculture (CSA) farm cultivating flowers and vegetables. While studying forestry, I was raised camping, portaging, and canoeing. We pondered how to merge these two aspects to reflect ourselves in the space. When we discovered a greenhouse with a forest as a ceremony space, we knew we had found a needle in a haystack, a true gem symbolizing the places we call home.

Creating a Personalized Celebration Without a Traditional Party

We didn’t have a traditional wedding party. Instead, I created roles tailored to my relationships. These included “Dress Queen” for dress research and styling on the day, “Party Queen” in charge of the bachelorette party, and “Mission Control” handling behind-the-scenes needs. Friends stepped up for these roles, recognizing the non-traditional approach. This flexible arrangement relieved pressure from a singular maid of honor or best man. Without formal parties, friends and family came and went from our suite as they pleased, creating a relaxed atmosphere. As an introvert, I appreciated having loved ones nearby during prep. Moments like the “Dress Queen” gifting a book of letters from meaningful people emerged organically. Opening the morning to all guests allowed for unexpected, memorable moments and candid photos.

Empowering Family Members to Create Meaningful Decor at Their Summer Camp Wisconsin Wedding

We didn’t personally DIY anything, as we trusted our wedding venue experts and lacked crafty skills. However, many family members were skilled in crafts, so we empowered them to bring their vision to life with art installations and floral arrangements. Even if we hadn’t liked the flowers (which we did!), they would have still represented our loved ones, which was most important to us. Additionally, we found a local seamstress to create colorful velvet table runners, adding a vibrant touch to our decor.

Unique Favors at Their Summer Camp Wisconsin Wedding Celebrating Their Themes and Family Heritage

Our favors were small, local hot sauce bottles with a sewn patch with our wedding emblem from our father’s artwork installation. Our theme of “Minnesota Love” got to shine with the local hot sauce, and the other theme of “Kayaking & Canoeing” got to shine in the patches for friends and family to sew on their many backpacks or outdoor gear.

This Pepe’s Italian and Liquor Wedding Will Have You Wanting to Tie the Knot at Your Favorite Restaurant

June 14, 2024 | justine

Sarah and Emile dreamed of an effortless, fun wedding bursting with love and a whole lot of dancing. Their dream became a reality when they discovered the perfect venue fit for their desired wedding vibe and aesthetic. The restaurant’s mid-20th-century design and Amalfi coast theme provided the ideal backdrop. With the addition of meaningful personal touches and stunning florals, their Pepe’s Italian and Liquor wedding transformed into the ultimate celebration, making their big day truly unforgettable.

The New York-inspired restaurant was crucial in bringing the pair’s vision to life. The pink color palette inspired by the bride’s shoes and crawling florals framing the windows created a stunning ceremony altar for their vow exchange. For the reception, colorful arrangements adorned every corner of the space, adding an extra pop of personality. The romantic atmosphere was palpable as the couple and their guests enjoyed a night of joyous celebration and merriment.

If you love modern style with a touch of sophistication, you’ll be mesmerized by these beautiful photos by Junebug vendor Na Lia Weddings. Check out these unique restaurant wedding ideas and see how couples make their big day special in their own way.

The Wedding:

Pepe’s Italian and Liquor, Melbourne, Australia

The Story Behind Their Pepe’s Italian and Liquor Wedding

The styling was mainly done DIY through Canva on late nights after work, but it was all inspired once we found our fantastic venue. The venue was inspired by mid-20th-century New York and had an Amalfi coast theme at the time. All our extra styling and decisions about flowers came after seeing the venue. We wanted to celebrate our love with an amazing, love-filled night of dancing. Pepe’s spirits shelves behind the bar and the Amalfi styling were so perfectly styled that all we added were some small touches and beautiful florals.

How the Bride’s Shoes Inspired Their Wedding Color Palette

Our key colors were pink which started when I found my pink shoes. The venue then also had pink so that helped. Our florist was incredibly helpful in bringing much of our vision to life with the florals. Her signature style does not include foliage, which meant the florals had so much color. We chose to have our bridesmaids in emerald green to complement the flowers.

Honoring Loved Ones with DIY Signage and Meaningful Wedding Favors

We made all of the signage ourselves on Canva, and my mum organized the wedding favors. Both of my grandmothers passed away within six months before my wedding. We thought of a beautiful way to honor them both by gifting small parcels of parsley seeds that one of my grandmothers had been cultivating her whole life. We presented them in a small vintage suitcase owned by my other grandmother.

A Culinary Journey Through Italian-Inspired Wedding Menu

Our menu was an Italian-themed cocktail with samples of meats, cheeses, and pizza on the menu—as well as some crowd favorites of small cocktail bites. We had wine, beer, cider, and spirits. We also had two cocktails on the menu all night: Aperol Spritz and Tommy Margaritas.

Dancing Through Decades: A Playlist Spanning Generations

We had a real mix of tunes that everyone of all ages could dance to, from David Bowie to Top Loader to The Beatles to Beyonce. We also had the Tarantella, an Italian wedding song.

Honoring Loved Ones: Finding Meaningful Ways to Include Them in Their Special Day

We lost my father-in-law a few years before our wedding, and that was super difficult. However, finding different ways to honor him throughout the day felt special—an Essendon scarf on a chair dedicated to him, choosing his favorite songs and pictures of him, and talking about him in our vows and speech was hard. Still, it was lovely to honor such a beautiful man.

Colorful La Casa de la Ruina Wedding Full of Small Personal Touches

June 10, 2024 | justine

Jamie and Sami fell in love with Antigua when they got engaged there. As they planned their wedding, they wanted to capture the adventure, excitement, and love they felt during their first trip. They knew they had to share the beauty of Guatemala with their loved ones. Set in a luxurious historic venue, their La Casa de la Ruina wedding featured a vibrant color palette, showstopping florals, and festive decor that perfectly complemented the old-world atmosphere of their unique location.

A standout moment of the wedding was the ceremony location. The stunning courtyard ruins provided an enchanting backdrop for the couple’s heartfelt vows. And that’s not all. A Mariachi band serenaded and led the entire wedding party through the quaint streets to the garden reception. The tables were meticulously adorned with vibrant centerpieces, each adding a pop of color to the already picturesque setting. However, stealing the show was the unique and vibrant dance floor, where the newlyweds and their guests had a blast all night long.

Even though it was a destination wedding, the pair were determined to infuse it with the cozy familiarity of home and the vibrant spirit of Antigua and Central America. They wanted their guests to feel like they were stepping into their backyard for a relaxed and intimate celebration, and they succeeded brilliantly. Thankfully, Manuel Aldana was there to capture every moment, ensuring that the essence of their special day would be beautifully preserved for all to see.

Crafting a Meaningful La Casa de la Ruina Wedding Ceremony Through Personal Touches and Emotional Surprises

For the ceremony, we opted for a short, non-traditional approach. My uncle officiated, incorporating a brief meditation, poetry readings, and a unique passing of the rings ceremony, where each guest blessed the rings with well wishes. We exchanged heartfelt speeches and custom vows, adding a personal touch to the moment. With the help of our planner and our vendors, I surprised Sami during the ceremony, executing the plan flawlessly. We had the talented local violinist Mariana Bustamente play a playlist we curated together, covering everything from Harry Styles to beloved Harry Potter soundtracks. As a nod to Sami’s love for Lord of the Rings, I suggested incorporating “Concerning Hobbits” into our walk down the aisle, a moment that moved Sami to tears, as expected.

Honoring Roots and Adding Extra Flair Throughout Their Big Day

We had a lot of favorite moments throughout the day. As we walked from the ceremony to the reception venue, a Mariachi band serenaded and led the entire wedding party through the streets—a nod to Jamie’s time in New Orleans, famous for its Second Line celebrations. Stepping into the reception venue for the first time filled us with awe, seeing all the small details we’d discussed come to life. We laughed our way through but successfully nailed our choreographed first dance—a huge triumph. After that, the wedding party let loose on the amazing dancefloor for the rest of the night, having an absolute blast. We especially enjoyed joining in with the belly dancers we brought in, paying homage to Sami’s Middle Eastern roots and adding an extra touch of fun to the celebration.

Destination Wedding Essentials: Why You Need a Wedding Planner

If you’re planning a destination wedding, hiring a wedding planner is a must! I Do, Guatemala were instrumental in making our weekend unforgettable. They helped us connect with local artists and vendors we would have needed help finding. Remember, it’s your day, so there are no rules.

How They Made Their La Casa de la Ruina Wedding Truly Theirs

Our favorite wedding moments always revolve around speeches, so we spread them throughout the events, giving each one value and importance without overwhelming guests. Instead of traditional Father-Daughter/Mother-Son dances, we invited our families onto the dancefloor, creating unforgettable moments. Later in the night, we had belly dancers, and our DJ seamlessly integrated traditional Middle Eastern music into the playlist. Our menu was eclectic: ceviche, Thai food, a ravioli bar, steak, and a taco station. Groomsmen wore their own suits, and bridesmaids picked their own dresses. By focusing on what mattered most to us, we created a day that was uniquely ours, ignoring many traditions to stay true to ourselves.

Crafting La Casa de la Ruina Wedding Luxury Within Limits

We weren’t aiming for a million-dollar wedding, and we ensured our wedding planner knew our budget and expectations. Despite that, our day felt like pure luxury, both in the moment and looking back at the photos. Before meeting with our planner, we researched wedding budgets and read blogs from weddings we admired to set realistic expectations. We found it helpful to break down our budget into specific items rather than seeing it as one big expense, which helped us stay on track while choosing vendors and details. Though I spent more on my wedding dress than planned, I saw it as a special treat for myself. Setting up payment plans for big expenses was a lifesaver, with our wedding planner handling 75% of the payments. We were incredibly fortunate to receive help from both sets of parents, which we hadn’t expected when we decided on a “big” wedding. Throughout the year leading up to our wedding, we saved and budgeted our personal finances to cover most of the costs, making our dream day a reality.

Discovering Antigua’s Charm: How They Found Their Dream Wedding Venues

We selected our venues after exploring Antigua on a scouting trip with our planner. Over three days, we toured various locations, from city streets to mountainsides, all meticulously prepared by Diana based on our preferences. We envisioned a natural, outdoor setting that embodied the unique charm of Antigua, a UNESCO World Heritage city known for its preserved ruins and gardens. Among the many ruin sites available, we sought lush vegetation and symmetry for our ceremony—a traditional aisle. Eventually, we settled on two venues: La Casa de la Ruina Santa Rosa for the ceremony, where Sami instantly fell in love during our scouting trip. Its allure was further enhanced by the option to rent the entire property for the weekend, providing accommodations for our loved ones. For the reception, we took a leap of faith with Jardin Real de Santiago, a chosen sight unseen due to Antigua’s in-person reservation process. Despite initial reservations, the space exceeded our expectations with its expansive, private setting enveloped by beautiful trees and verdant foliage. This strategic choice allowed us to allocate less of our budget to florals, freeing up resources to focus on other decor elements.

With only 20 cherished loved ones in attendance, they ensured that each guest shared in the joy of their special day. Dreaming of a mountain setting, they chose the picturesque Dolomites as their backdrop. Surrounded by vibrant wildflowers, they tied the knot in a heartwarming summer brunch micro wedding, shared only with their closest circle. Though small, their big day was simply perfect, filled to the brim with love and joy.

The couple selected the most breathtaking backdrop for their special day. With the majestic peaks as their witness, they exchanged heartfelt vows, surrounded by nature’s grandeur. Their outdoor reception was equally enchanting, with the same awe-inspiring backdrop setting the scene. As guests gathered around a long table adorned with colorful wild blooms, they savored every moment of this picturesque celebration with brunch and a wine tasting.

The Journey to a Summer Brunch Micro Wedding in the Dolomites

We wanted our wedding to be intimate with our closest family and friends. We chose the Dolomites and a venue with a view of Seceda as the focal point. The vibe of the wedding was a summer brunch. Our florist used wildflowers from the Dolomites, pulling the whole look together. Nothing looked out of place. It was like we were having a beautiful picnic in the Dolomites.

Tips for a Stress-Free Wedding Day

Wedding advice to other couples: Go with the flow! Things will not always go according to plan, and there is so much outside of our control. To truly enjoy your wedding day, you have to go with the flow and enjoy all the perfect moments.

How Their Destination Brunch Micro Wedding Became the Ultimate Vacation

Our guests say my wedding was a once-in-a-lifetime experience and one of the best vacations of their life. It was challenging to decide to have a wedding out of the country, knowing we would have to cut the guest list to about 20 people and that many people wouldn’t be able to make it. Many people had opinions about us having our wedding so far away, but at the end of the day, we did what we wanted to do and made the day truly about us. It ended up paying off for everyone that was able to attend.

Finding Perfection in a Venue Amongst the Dolomites

We spent so much time looking for the perfect venue. We knew we wanted to get married on the mountain, but we also wanted a beautiful view of the Dolomites for our reception. We found the perfect venue, which had both an indoor and outdoor venue with plenty of space for music, apps, brunch, dancing, mingling, etc. I first saw Seceda walking down the “aisle” to my husband. It completely took my breath away. It was such a fantastic moment to experience beauty while walking down the aisle to get married.

Colorful and Tropical Casa Risa Intimate Wedding

June 8, 2024 | justine

Afonso and Ron picked their cozy boutique hotel as the spot for their wedding. It’s where their love story began, so saying “I do” there felt just right. Their intimate Casa Risa wedding was cozy, with only 30 of their nearest and dearest. The place had a chill, natural vibe that mixed perfectly with the lush garden surroundings. It felt like a tropical paradise right in their backyard, and amazingly, they planned everything in just one month.

With their trusted team of vendors, the pair transformed the poolside area into a cozy ceremony venue. Surrounded by lush tropical greenery, they shared sweet vows that melted guests’ hearts. Then, it was time to party! The garden reception was filled with laughter, dancing, and joy that lasted all night long.

With guests arriving from all over the world to share in their joy, the couple added their own special touch to their intimate celebration. Junebug vendor Pedro Filipe Fotografia captured their love and happiness perfectly. If you want fresh ideas for your own big day, check out their magical celebration!

Embracing a Relaxed Atmosphere at Their Casa Risa Intimate Wedding

We wanted to honor the mood of our venue by having a ceremony and reception that matched it. When we invited only our closest family and friends, we wanted them to feel relaxed and at home. Our planner suggested a relaxed and natural style that perfectly fit Casa Risa and us. It was like a tropical vibe that seamlessly blended with the garden. Since Casa Risa brought us together, it felt only right to get married there.

Making the Most of Rainy Moments

The wedding took place on October 28, and the weather was uncertain. We knew it might rain but decided to take the risk anyway. After enjoying a wonderful sunny day, the rain unexpectedly arrived during the garden party. However, nobody let it spoil the fun, and those five minutes under the light rain actually helped to cool down the temperature. It added a memorable and refreshing touch to the celebration.

Wedding Wisdom: Start with a Planner

The best advice we can give is to find a wedding planner as soon as possible. Our planner helped us plan our entire wedding in just a month, and they guided us through everything, from budgeting to vendor research.

Keeping It Intimate with a Thoughtful Guest Selection

Since most of our guests are from abroad, coming from the US, Brazil, and France, we decided to limit the guest list to our closest friends and immediate family. We wanted everyone to feel truly welcome and at home, not just as observers but as part of our love and celebration.

Customized Wedding Keepsakes That Doubled as Name Cards

We gave our guests personalized Portuguese tiles with their names on them, which doubled as name tags. It was a special touch that added a unique and meaningful element to our wedding celebration.

Keeping It Real with Comfortable Wedding Attire

We wanted to feel true to ourselves and be comfortable on our big day. Afonso rocked a stylish blue suit, a crisp white shirt, a bolo tie, and a pair of sharp shoes. As for me, I opted for a more relaxed look, sporting jeans, a smart blazer, a bolo tie, some classic Cowboy boots, and topping it off with a leather hat (a true Missouri touch).

Creating a Personalized Ceremony by Honoring Their Love Story

The ceremony was the most unforgettable part of our day. Our officiant, Mafalda, worked closely with us to craft a ceremony that truly reflected who we are. We focused on our vows, the special moments of the day, and the heartfelt words shared by our witnesses. It was a deeply meaningful and personal experience that we’ll cherish forever.

How to Include Your Dog in Your Wedding

June 6, 2024 | riley

Pet parents know just how important their furry friends are to them. For many, these animals are like family, and the idea of including them on your wedding day is just another step you can take to make your celebration truly yours. While we know that many–especially those hosting a wedding far from home–can’t bring them along to celebrate, we also know that more and more couples are opting to incorporate them into the big day in some way, shape, or form.

Junebug has an extensive vendor directory full of professionals who see weddings day in and day out. So, we thought it would be worth asking them how to include your dog in your wedding. Jamie of Brisbane Celebrants and Brisbane Wedding Decorators kindly put together ten tips to ensure that bringing Fido into your wedding goes as smoothly as possible!

How to Include Your Dog in Your Wedding

1. Groom them

Chances are you and your partner spend quite some time preparing for the wedding–your pets should do the same. When creating your to-do list for the week leading up to the big day, include a professional cut and bath for your pet. This way, they are freshly groomed and smell good on the big day.

2. Assign a dog concierge for the day

You’re going to be pulled in a hundred different directions on your wedding day, and the last thing you want to do is add more stress to your plate. While pets don’t require too much attention at home, they are going to need constant attention when at a special event. That’s where a dog concierge comes in.

Your dog concierge is responsible for watching and caring for your pet throughout the day. For some, this may be a family member or friend. We understand, though, that for some, you may not want to add that work to your loved one’s plate. That’s when you may want to consider hiring a professional pet wedding assistant who solely focuses on the animals. Not only will this allow your friends and family to enjoy your special day, but a professional can also ensure that your pet is returned home safely after the ceremony.

We understand that finding a professional you trust may be difficult, so if you’re unsure where to look, ask your officiant for recommendations.

3. Dress to impress

As we mentioned earlier, we’re going to bet that you spend a lot of time and money looking your best on your wedding day. Your dog deserves that same treatment. We’re not saying you need to spend hundreds of dollars on an outfit. However, consider a flower crown, lei, mini dress, bow tie collar, or a full-on ‘black tie’ tuxedo. You can find quite a few outfit ideas for pets on Etsy.

4. Organize transportation

You’re going to have your hands full from sunrise to the end of the day, which is why it’s wise to organize transportation for your pup. Of course, this is about choosing who’s going to drive them. But it’s also important to consider whether or not you want them in a crate, booster seat, etc., when in the car.

5. Keep essentials on hand

Though dogs aren’t going to require too many necessities, there are a few things to have on hand to help the show run smoothly. Ensure whoever is watching your furry friend is well equipped with a leash, water bowl, a large water bottle (you will most likely be able to get water from the venue for them; however, it doesn’t hurt to be prepared), some wipes to clean their paws should they want to say hi to guests, and of course, some treats to reward them for being so good.

6. Choose a dog-friendly ceremony venue

If you know early on in the wedding planning process that you want to include your dog in your wedding, it’s important to set yourself up from the very beginning. When touring venues, be sure to ask whether or not they are dog-friendly. Even if you are unsure whether or not it’s something you want to include, you’re better off asking ahead of time versus finding out it’s not an option closer to the big day.

7. Maintain your dogs routine

Dogs can be unpredictable, so it’s crucial to keep them happy and relaxed as much as possible.  Maintain their current routine as much as you can, including meal times, walks (particularly pre-ceremony), etc. This helps keep them on their best behavior and reduces the chance of an unscheduled bathroom break.

8. Ensure the florals are safe

If you’re including florals for your pup or you know that they’re going to be spending some time near your decor, it’s essential that you research how “dog safe” your preferred blooms are. Many flowers can be highly toxic and dangerous for dogs to ingest, so err on the side of caution. Let your florist, planner, and/or designer know that you will be including your dog, so their health is a priority for your florals.

If the flowers you’re dreaming of including are toxic to pets, you’ll want to discuss this with your pet concierge or whoever is responsible for watching your dog on the big day to ensure that they’re not getting into something potentially life-threatening. This may require the petsitter to keep an even closer eye on them.

9. How to include your dog as the ring bearer

If you’ve decided to include your pup as the ring bearer, Jamie has found that the safest way to include them is as follows:

The officiant will ask, “Can [dog’s name] please present the rings?” The petsitter then walks the dog up to the couple, and the couple gives the dog a pat, hug, or kiss on the head. The dog concierge hands over the rings, or the couple unties the rings from the dog’s collar.

This makes for some pretty incredible photos that we know you will cherish for years to come.

10. Include them in your wedding photos

Lastly, make the most of having your dog present by bringing them into some of your wedding photos. While you should get some of you and your pet with just your partner, it’s also a lot of fun to include them in group shots with your wedding party. Talk with your photographer beforehand to let her know that these are some must-have photos for you, and they can make sure to find the best location and include it in their shot list.

With the help of the right vendor team, including your furry friend in your big day is an easy way to personalize your ceremony and create memories that you’ll have for a lifetime. To help them get dressed to the nines, we’ve rounded up some of the best wedding dog attire and accessories on Etsy!

Timeless Villa il Garofalo Destination Wedding With Sweeping Views

June 3, 2024 | justine

Carla and Irtaza dreamed of a wedding set against a breathtaking backdrop they’d never forget. Both avid travelers, they struggled to pick the perfect city. But when Florence emerged as a contender, it just felt right. The instant they glimpsed their venue, it was like destiny unfolding. Surrounded by the lush beauty of an Italian garden adorned with lush flowers and classic hues, their Villa il Garofalo destination wedding was a dream come to life.

In their garden ceremony, a beautiful path bordered by white flowers guided them to an altar framed by floral pillars, setting a picturesque stage for their heartfelt promises. Yet, the timeless magic continued throughout the festivities. Their reception boasted tables adorned with breathtaking centerpieces, softly lit by the flicker of candles. To top it off, sparkling chandeliers hung above, casting a spell that turned their celebration into a scene straight out of a fairy tale.

The combination of those special touches and the stunning setting truly made this event unforgettable. For a closer glimpse at this romantic celebration, take a look at the stunning details planned by Junebug vendor The Different Twins, all photographed beautifully by Linda Nari Photography.

Saying “I Do” at Their Villa il Garofalo Destination Wedding With Florence’s Iconic Duomo as Backdrop

From the beginning of wedding planning, we knew we wanted a timeless event and a breathtaking view. As lovers of travel, narrowing down the city was the hardest part. But once we both decided on Florence and our planner showed us Villa il Garofalo, which was also the home of Dante and Beatrice, everything else fell into place. The villa itself is stunning, with its beautiful gardens and classic architecture. It overlooks the entire city of Florence, and you get a picture-perfect view of the Duomo from the gardens of the villa.

Crafting the Perfect Italian Garden Celebration

With the villa selected, the decision to have an Italian garden wedding was seamless. Everything after that was geared towards giving the event a timeless and classic feel, just as we had wanted. From the table settings to floral arrangements to the classic Italian Millefeuille cake and gelato cart, our mindset was focused on simple yet elegant choices. Of course, our amazing wedding team helped bring our visions to reality—they were incredible.

A DJ With a Live Saxophone Player, Endless Hugo Spritzes, and an Incredible Ceremony View

For my husband, the most memorable part was the cocktail hour–from the exit to the champagne tower–and then the DJ with a live saxophone player. Not to mention all the amazing aperitifs. It is truly a special feeling getting to celebrate that moment with our closest family and friends. The Hugo spritz was flowing, and people were already dancing the day away in celebration. For me, it was the actual wedding ceremony itself. The emotion of walking down the aisle with my dad and seeing my closest friends and family in Florence, with my future husband awaiting me while overlooking the Duomo, was overwhelming and memorable. We also had one of our best friends as our officiant, making the ceremony feel all the more meaningful.

Why Hiring a Planner is Key to Stress-Free Planning Their Villa il Garofalo Destination Wedding

Hire a great planner; they will make your life so much easier. Also, let the vendors guide you and give them the freedom to express their creativity. They are experts and very experienced, and they will be able to make your dreams come true without you needing to micromanage every detail. For example, we provided our florist with a color scheme and instructions to make the flowers feel timeless, and she ran with it and did an incredible job. Too many times, we want to be involved in every last detail, which makes the planning process too stressful.

Treasures From Florence and Handcrafted Mementos to Welcome Their Guests at Their Villa il Garofalo Destination Wedding

At our welcome party, we gave our guests a Florence tote bag filled with our wedding newspaper, risotto, and a mini bottle of Chianti. All of the items were purchased in Florence. For the day of the wedding, we paid our calligrapher to hand-paint watercolor postcards.
