“Luckily, The Little White Chapel was able to delay our ceremony by 15 minutes, so we ran to the courthouse, got the license, and still made it to cocktail hour right on time!”

They also chose to keep the ceremony intimate, with only immediate family in attendance. “It didn’t feel right to share such an intimate moment with a large crowd.. We’re so grateful that our guests still came all that way to celebrate us in a way that felt true to who we are.”

As a self-proclaimed fashion lover (and indecisive bride), Lexi knew one look wouldn’t cut it. For their Fashion-forward Las Vegas wedding, she curated a bridal wardrobe that evolved with the day. Alex and Wyatt originally had another venue lined up. But when that plan fell through just as Wyatt left for Navy deployment, Alex had to start over—alone. She admits, “In the moment when it happened, I wanted to cancel everything. And I’m so thankful I didn’t.”

“I abandoned my original color scheme and based the entire design off the wallpaper in the front entry hall,” Alex says. “We were having a late fall wedding, but I wanted more spring colors, and I found that was the perfect way to blend the two.” The resulting palette—light moss green, cream, dusty pink, light blue, and orange—brought a warmth that matched the unseasonably sunny 70-degree November day.

Alex and Wyatt approached their wedding-day style with personal intention. “I actually inadvertently ended up designing my wedding dress. I had something very specific in mind. On the flip side, the couple skipped a first look. “I wanted the first time he saw me to be when I was walking down the aisle. I was ultimately more interested in doing portraits together at night in and around the Birkby House property. They are some of my favorite moments that Kelsey captured perfectly.”

The reception vibe was clear: celebration above all else. “Dancing is one of the best parts of any wedding. After an extremely stressful year of planning, deployment, new jobs, and moving—I wanted this just to be our time to celebrate.”

And Birkby House was the answer to just that,” she says. “I spent the morning quietly relaxing on the upper porch just watching the space slowly start to come to life. And about those design elements: “I enlisted my best friend and bridesmaid for help with all my DIY, as that is not my strong suit. She helped design and create my save the dates, invites, menus, table numbers, and every piece of signage.”

To enhance the space, From Peonies to Paintchips, transformed the room with lush floral arrangements, candlelit ambiance, and an incredible floral arch surrounding the fireplace. “There wasn’t one place you could look where you would find a bare spot.”

Wedding Planning Without a Planner—How She Pulled It Off

Alanah took charge of the planning process, starting with inspiration from social media. “I followed accounts that gave me ideas of what I wanted. With each picture I screenshotted, I began an album on my phone labeled ‘Wedding Planning.’ Soon, a bunch of screenshots became a vision board, and I was able to piece it all together.”

No New Year’s Eve wedding is complete without a high-energy celebration, and Alanah and Michael made sure their guests experienced an unforgettable night. With The Clara Jordan Band from Hank Lane setting the tone, the dance floor stayed packed, and guests were decked out in festive NYE glasses and hats personalized with the couple’s names and wedding date.

“When the clock was just about to strike 12, they began to sing ‘I Gotta Feeling’ and do a countdown. When the clock hit midnight, I remember looking around the room, seeing so many people who had watched us grow up, and taking a mental snapshot of that moment. There are not many times where your closest friends and family are together in one room bringing in the new year surrounded by so much love.”

To elevate the celebration even further, the couple added a unique, personal touch—a custom espresso martini ice luge. “We thought it would be the perfect addition for an elegant New Year’s Eve wedding since we planned to party all night,” Alanah shares. Engraved with their initials, the ice luge added a fun and luxurious element to the reception, keeping guests entertained and the energy high well past midnight.

Budgeting for What Matters Most

One of the biggest challenges in wedding planning is budgeting, and Alanah and Michael approached it strategically. “We decided to allocate our funds in the areas we thought were most important for the day. This included the venue, food and top-shelf liquor, the florist, and the photographer, and videographer.”

With a two-year engagement, they had time to plan and save. Alanah even created a spreadsheet to track expenses, ensuring they could have the dream celebration without unnecessary stress.

Alanah’s heartfelt advice: “Remember your reason WHY. Social media makes it easy to compare. But at the end of the day, this is about you and your person. Celebrate your love in the way that feels most authentic to you.

When Jason first spotted Patricia on a mutual friend’s Instagram, he knew he had to meet her—it was love at first scroll. With a little help from fate (and their friend), they finally connected in Taipei during COVID, quickly bonding over oldies music, whiskey, and a shared passion for travel. The rest, as they say, is history.

When it came time to plan their wedding, they had one priority: creating an intimate, backyard-style celebration filled with warmth, personal touches, and the people they love most. Their vision led them to Khayangan Estate, a breathtaking Bali wedding venue that offered both privacy and the rare opportunity to stay on-site with their families for three unforgettable nights.

“Having lived in Bali, I completely fell in love with the island—especially the Bukit Peninsula, with its stunning cliffs overlooking the Indian Ocean,” Patricia shared. “So when it came to choosing a wedding location, I knew we had to say ‘I do’ with one of my favorite views as our backdrop.”

Kicking Off the Celebration with Drinks, Games, and an Unexpected Dance Party 

Patricia and Jason prioritized what mattered most: bringing their favorite people together in a relaxing, beautiful space filled with delicious food, drinks, and unforgettable moments. With the help of Junebug vendors The Wedding Mood they created a celebration that felt both meaningful and fun.

Their wedding weekend kicked off with a welcome party for guests traveling from near and far. With an open bar, curated bites, and a personally-crafted playlist, the couple set the tone for a lively celebration. “We even put together a get-to-know-each-other Bingo game, just in case anyone needed an icebreaker. Turns out, we completely underestimated our crowd. The moment our friends and family arrived, they dove straight into chatting and clinking glasses. And before we knew it, the night had turned into a full-blown dance party!”

Choosing Wedding Attire That Balanced Style, Sentiment, and Comfort

Jason went all out with a custom tux from Tailor’s Keep in San Francisco, handpicking every detail from the fabric to the buttons. Just days before the wedding, Patricia surprised him with Hermes cufflinks—an elegant finishing touch. He completed his look with sleek Louboutins, embodying effortless sophistication.

For Patricia, timeless elegance was key. She started her morning wrapped in a La Perla silk robe, sipping champagne with her sister and best friend. Her wedding gown, a sleek BoLee wedding dress, was everything she had envisioned. She infused sentimentality into her look with jewelry designed by her aunt, featuring pearls that once belonged to her grandmother. A dramatic royal-length veil added the perfect touch of romance. Later in the evening, she changed into a chic halter-neck dress with a statement bow and traded her heels for Louboutin flats—ready to dance the night away in style.

Enhancing Their Stunning Bali Wedding Venue Without Overwhelming It

With the breathtaking Khayangan Estate as their backdrop, Jason and Patricia knew they didn’t need an elaborate setup to make an impact. Instead of a traditional arch, their florist, Ling from Dada Island, designed a cascading masterpiece of lush greenery, with bold pops of yellow and orange. “With a view that stunning, why block it?” the couple shared. The result was a ceremony space that felt organic yet striking—seamlessly blending with the natural beauty around them.

Looking back, they struggled to choose just one standout moment because every second felt unforgettable. “Having our friend Henry officiate, hearing each other’s vows, and being surrounded by all our favorite people—it was pure magic,” they recalled. To complement the romantic atmosphere, they enlisted a string quartet to play classic tunes, adding an elegant and timeless touch to their heartfelt celebration.

How They Created a Reception Full of Meaningful Touches

After the ceremony, guests were welcomed onto a sprawling lawn where cocktails flowed freely, and a vintage phone from Phone a Friend Bali invited loved ones to leave heartfelt audio messages. The reception space was a stunning visual experience, featuring artistic, sculptural floral arrangements that incorporated unexpected elements like fruits, shells, and wild blooms. Unique touches—including a whimsical lemon man and chili arrangements—added a playful, creative touch.

The night continued with an intimate dinner and handcrafted cocktails by Palms Bali—one of the couple’s favorite bartenders. “We actually did a tasting on a previous trip to Bali. The moment we sipped their drinks, we knew they had to be at our wedding.”

Their love for whiskey also made a special appearance. “We brought in one of our favorite go-to whiskeys—Bowmore 12—to share with our guests, along with Party Smart gummies, the perfect antidote for a night of celebrating!”

As the night unfolded, speeches from family and friends stole the show. “There wasn’t a dry eye in the room. The speeches were heartfelt, hilarious, and filled with so much love.” 

A Piece of Advice from the Couple

“If we could do it all over again, we’d have a proper after-party! The night went by too fast, and we wish the whole day could have lasted forever. Our best advice? Stay present and soak up every moment—it truly is the best day of your life.”
