February 26, 2018 | colleen

This winter bridal shoot has an unexpected twist on modern bridal fashion.  With the help of wedding dress designer Carol HannahThe Creative’s Loft worked with her closely to plan and execute a one-of-a-kind bridal shoot to showcase some unique bridal looks. The rest of the vendor team and models brought the vision to life for a bridal shoot that truly celebrates sisterhood and stepping out of the box. Bellelite accentuated the models’ natural beauty with highlighting their features and giving them a soft bridal look. Each of their natural features are celebrated and make for a care-free and fun vibe! All of this magic was done at The Creative’s Loft which was the perfect place for lots of natural light and subtle industrial vibes. Photographer Brandi Toole Photography and videographer Victoria Fregoso perfectly captured the strength and confidence of the models.

This Handmade Georgia Wedding Ends with an Intimate Mountain Hike

February 26, 2018 | colleen

Ashley and Miles’ handmade Georgia wedding was thoughtful and simplistic. These two lovebirds opted for an intimate outdoor ceremony with a handful of family and friends standing beside them as they became husband and wife. Inspired by boho vibes and their grandparents’ style, Ashley and Miles bought elements from all over to make their own unique style. Ashley wore a beautiful lace dress from David’s Bridal and a eucalyptus crown in her hair. She also created her own bouquet from flowers she found outside, which she accessorized with a gorgeous macrame wrap by Kira RoseSarah Joy Photo ventured with Ashley and Miles on an intimate hike in the mountains for some gorgeous couple portraits that we can’t get enough of!

The Couple:

Ashley and Miles

The Wedding:

Revolution Church, Canton, Georgia

The most important part to planning our wedding was that we stayed true to ourselves, who we are, and how we wanted to tell our love story. We did everything for us and no one else. It made the day that much more beautiful knowing that we were beyond pleased with everything taking place.

I (Ashley) made all of the florals. I made my bouquet from weeds in the front yard. I used a few items from the store but the majority of things used were from the yard. I also made all of the boutonnieres and floral decor for our isle. It was a great experience making it all, and the best part is how affordable it was! I definitely recommend taking a stab at creating your own florals.

We personalized our ceremony by having Miles‘ dad officiate. We also wrote out the entire ceremony. Everything that was said has a specific purpose. It all had special meaning to who we are as we became one flesh.

The most memorable part of our day was when it poured rain right after the ceremony. After the rain subsided, we hiked the mountain where we first ever hiked together. The golden sun shined bright through the dark clouds, and a rainbow glowed right above us. People say it’s good luck if it rains on your wedding day, and we sure do feel lucky.

Our biggest advice is to do things that are special to you two. Don’t let other people think what you want is not important – it is important. This is your day.

Our wedding day fashion was simple yet elegant. Our biggest style inspiration was our grandparents. Miles wore his late grandfather’s suit (from the 1970s), he wore boots that resembled something his grandfather would wear, and his tie was a Rooster Knit which was popular in the 70s. My wedding dress was vintage style, my shoes were simple black boots, I wore my Nana’s ring on my pinky finger, and I wore a simple eucalyptus crown to add a little boho look. We both were incredibly comfortable the entire day; it was the best part!

Our photographer, Sarah, was an absolute joy to work with. She has such a sweet, gentle spirit about her that makes you feel like you’ve known her for years when you meet for the first time. She was professional yet felt like a friend just hanging out with us our entire day. Her work blows us away. She captured our day perfectly, beautifully, and so well.

We ate Revolution Donuts on top of the mountain to end our day. They are the best donuts in Atlanta!

This Wedding at The Glass Factory Proves That Minimalism Can Be Totally Romantic

February 25, 2018 | juliette

Megan and Sean’s wedding at The Glass Factory was minimalism at its finest. The industrial venue offered the perfect blank canvas for them to add their artistic flair, which included a modern hand-painted black, white, and grey canvas ceremony backdrop, black and white letter boards, tons of natural greenery, and mismatched glass vases. The contrast between the feel of the space and the crisp decor, which Natalie Broach Photography captured perfectly, was as refreshing as it was beautiful. This sweet couple also nailed their youthful wedding day style. Megan’s simple lace BHLDN dress, long braid, and lush floral bouquet looked effortless, and Sean’s suit jacket, black skinny jeans, and messy bun were a modern twist on traditional groom style.

The Couple:

Megan and Sean

The Wedding:

The Glass Factory, Jacksonville, Florida

We both get a little nervous when any/all attention is on us, so the thought of everyone looking at us during our ceremony was quite intimidating! We did all of our pictures before the ceremony, and had a little time scheduled between pictures and the ceremony where our close friends and family could come into the back area and just hang out. We’re so glad we did! It ended up being one of our favorite and most memorable parts of the day – as a bonus, it took some of the pressure off the ceremony since we’d already seen and talked to about half of everyone there.

Ironically, while we were wedding planning it was most important for us to not get caught up in what can easily become the frenzy of wedding planning. We didn’t want to forget the best thing about our day: we’d come out of it getting to keep each other forever! This mindset led us to make decisions that really were the best for and true to us — we didn’t want to do anything “because that’s what you do.” It was important that each element of our day was something we really wanted.

Our photographer, Natalie, is also one of our very close friends. I call her our “life photographer” because she’s photographed pretty much every special and significant moment in our lives! We feel so at ease and comfortable being ourselves, and she captures it all so beautifully. Her images always take us back to the best moments in time, and exactly the way we felt while we were in them. One of our favorite photos is from right after we first saw each other. We were doing some portraits and Natalie was directing us, but Sean must have tuned her out for a moment. He snuck behind me and gave me the sweetest hug and kiss on the shoulder. It looks (and was!) so beautiful and natural. I remember the moment and it still gives me stomach flips!

Sean and I both work in creative fields, he’s in video production and I’m a graphic designer. Sean is also an incredible fine artist. We knew we wanted to create our own invitations, so after finalizing the layout, content, and design elements of each card, we had the idea to make the back of the main card an art print that could be displayed beautifully in our home. I grabbed paints in black, grey, and white tones on my way home from work one day and we made a date night out of it! Sean scaled the same idea and painted it onto a massive canvas backdrop for the ceremony. We love the way it turned out!

One thing that really helped us in wedding planning was controlling our exposure to all the resources out there. There are so many great places to get wedding inspiration, but being exposed to too many could put you in decision (and comparison) paralysis! We picked a couple resources (Junebug was our number one!) whose content we appreciated and thought reflected our style and personality. It made it way easier if/when we hit a roadblock: we’d just head to one of our chosen resources and do some research. Aside from that, you know yourselves best, so do what you like!
