This Flying Caballos Ranch Wedding is a Rustic Boho Dream

Boho lovers, this exceptionally lovely California wedding at Flying Caballos Ranch is for you! The open fields were perfect for Jessica and Taylor’s outdoor ceremony, which featured a wooden arch adorned with textural arrangements designed by Wildflowers Floral Design, and the on-site barn was as charming as could be for their backyard BBQ-inspired reception. In true backyard BBQ style, the couple kept the details casual and fresh and served comfort foods that represented themselves and their relationship. On top of it all, Jessica did not disappoint in a Grace Loves Lace stunner, natural waves, romantic makeup, and a pretty flower hair clip, and Taylor rocked a modern, vibrant blue suit from Hugo Boss along with a quirky floral print tie. Photographer Danielle Determan went above and beyond in capturing every moment of this gorgeous California wedding!

The Couple:

Jessica and Taylor

The Wedding:

Flying Caballos Ranch, San Luis Obispo County, California

The most important thing was to stay true to who Taylor and I are as individuals and as a couple. We stuck to what we liked and wanted, whether it was a normal wedding tradition or not. We wanted our guests to come to the wedding and feel like it was for sure our wedding because they could see it and feel it. We also wanted to trust our vendors wholeheartedly to do their job and they did

The most memorable part of the day was my brother marrying us because he brought so much humor and love to the ceremony. It was a perfect balance and I loved to hear guests were crying and laughing during it. We did our own personal vows and there is something so unforgettable about walking down the aisle to your forever and then hearing them share so openly with everyone why they chose you and why they will continue to choose you forever.

Trust your vendors! A lot of the time I just told them, “I trust you,” and I’m so glad I did because it took off the pressure and really let them be creative in planning our special day. Also, stay true to who you are as a couple. You can’t please everyone and the day is about the two of you. It’s about the love that is shared that day, not the insignificant details. Lastly, embrace every minute because the day flies by, but it truly is the best day ever!

We chose our venue because we felt it represented us as who we are individually and together. Taylor grew up in Fresno, and we loved the barn and open fields. My whole family is originally from England, so the English farmhouse was a perfect way to stay true to those English roots.

We wanted a backyard BBQ vibe so we served burgers, fries, pulled pork tacos, and mac ‘n’ cheese. Taylor proposed before we headed to a mac ‘n’ cheese festival with some friends so, of course, that item had to be served. For appetizers, the favorites were grilled cheese and tomato bisque shooters and chicken and waffle bites. Taylor isn’t a huge fan of cake, so we got a donut truck instead. My favorite food is pizza so we also had a late night delivery of pizza after the reception!
