When the first images you see of a bride are her eating ice cream, you know it’s going to be a good wedding. Sabrina and Jay are such a fun, cool couple who had a larger-than-life vision for their day. Fortunately, they brought on master photographer Nick Murray to capture every moment of their colorful and stylish wedding. From a planning perspective, the couple prioritized light over all else–both natural light from the sun around stunning venue Oldwalls Gower and a light spirit in their love and in their guests throughout the day.
The Couple: Sabrina and Jay
The Wedding: Oldwalls Gower, Swansea, Wales
The Moments: “Jay and I wrote our own vows and I loved how personal it made our ceremony. I remember turning abounding and being surrounded by all our friends and family, seeing them all so happy for us.”
The Inspiration: “We found the most naturally beautiful venue so we wanted to keep the decoration quite simple and elegant. We chose a colour pallet of ivory, blush and pale peach to blend in with the gorgeous natural surroundings. Our theme was loosely based on travel as our parents all hail from different countries. The tables were named after countries that hold meaning to us and on every table there were interesting facts about the country.
Music was also very important to us and for every aspect of the day we chose songs that hold meaning to us. My bridal entrance was to Michael Jackson’s ‘I Just Can’t Stop Loving You’, played on a baby grand piano. Our first date was to a Michael Jackson musical. Our guests really appreciated how much effort was put into the music and sang and danced throughout the wedding breakfast, even before the dance floor was open!
For our wedding day fashion we both wanted a modern look. My dress was the second dress I tried on, it just felt right. It was form fitting and had a touch of sexiness. Jay had his suit made bespoke in a renowned tailor in Dubai, as a special touch he had our initials and wedding date embroidered inside. It made it that extra bit more special.”
