If there’s one thing that we learned from featuring hundreds of micro weddings this past year, it’s that they’re anything but boring. From intimate wedding receptions complete with a camper to small tropical “I do’s” with an abundance of dried palms and florals, your micro wedding decor can be as big or small as you want it. This micro wedding decor round-up is sure to get you inspired to decorate your big day!

Camping Micro Wedding Decor

If you and your partner are big outdoorsy people and plan on tying the knot at a national park or other outdoor space, consider renting out a camper. You can often find options that have built-in bars complete with beer taps or small kitchens where you can set up a little picnic for you and your guests.

Boho Micro Wedding Decor

The best part about putting together a boho micro wedding is the fact that every single venue space fits the decor. Whether you go industrial or beachy, boho weddings are all about the decor. Layer vintage rugs and tasseled throw pillows for your ceremony space along with pampas grass and wildflowers for a carefree look.

 Modern Micro Wedding Decor

When it comes to modern micro weddings, picture monochromatic table settings, centerpieces, and florals. We love that this wedding took a venue that would typically look rustic and transformed it into a chic space with all black and white decor.

Neutral Micro Wedding Decor

Neutral decor is all the rage and we don’t see it going away anytime soon. We especially love it when couples decorate their bar or restaurant micro weddings with achromatic decor and bold florals–just like this wedding!

Classic Micro Wedding Decor

If you’re planning a spring or summer micro wedding, consider decor like this. The blue and white color palette makes us immediately think of an afternoon spent in Italy. In reality, this wedding took place in a backyard. It’s ideal for anyone looking for destination “I do’s” vibes without traveling.

Blush Micro Wedding Decor

Blush is a wedding color that is here to stay–and for a good reason! We love how versatile it can be. Because there’s a wide variety of shades of blush, it can work for every type of wedding style. Whether you’re hosting a romantic garden wedding, a boho bash, or a seaside affair, blush is a whimsical color that works anywhere and everywhere.

Natural Micro Wedding Decor

To lean into the sustainable, natural look, opt for fresh-picked florals, small thrifted vases, and a whole lot of macrame. This look is especially stunning in the heart of the forest or on the beach.

Urban, Glam, And Modern Hoxton Elopement

July 13, 2021 | Junebug Weddings

When thinking about where to elope, Taylor and Vinnie decided the best location was close to home. Their Hoxton elopement kept the urban glam-themed wedding they always dreamed of but with only five people in attendance, including MNY Photography. Their intimate wedding brought their love to the Topé rooftop bar, as well as glam wedding outfits, vegan tacos and donuts, and stunning modern decor together.

Speaking of glam outfits, Vinnie and Taylor both looked absolutely amazing in their suits—a black sequin suit with a black chiffon button-down and a burnt orange suit with black trims. And don’t let us forget to mention the shoes—black loafers with gold spikes and sequin ankle boots.

If your jaw hasn’t dropped yet, just wait until you see these images. But we’ll stop ourselves from spoiling all the fun. To see more of this urban glam Hoxton elopement, keep scrolling for the photos captured by MNY Photography.

A Uniquely One-Of-A-Kind Experience

The most important thing to us when planning our elopement was that we wanted something unique. We didn’t want to follow the typical traditions and we didn’t want to have an elopement like anyone else had before. Knowing that we wanted to create a unique, one-of-a-kind experience truly allowed us to be creative and think outside of the box.

Working With Amazing Vendors

We are most proud of the vendors we worked with. Portland prides itself on highlighting local vendors rather than chain franchises and that’s something we wanted to bring to our elopement. We’re incredibly proud to say that all of our vendors were local to the Portland-Metro area. Our elopement was a unique event to our taste but it was also a great example of what Portland has to offer. Plus, working with these smaller vendors allowed us to create a lasting relationship with them which shines in all of the photos.

Wedding Advice For Nearlyweds

Our best wedding advice is to only focus on the things you have control over. The original plan for our elopement was to have everything done outside on the rooftop, but of course the weather had other plans. We spent the entire week stressed about the weather even though we had no control over it. It ended up raining on our wedding day and everything had to be inside the venue. Honestly, that ended up being for the better. We were able to create an intimate and romantic vibe that wouldn’t have been possible if we were still outside. So if you can’t control it, just let it go. It’s not worth stressing over, we promise!

Why A Hoxton Elopement?

We chose our venue because we were immediately obsessed with the aesthetics of it the first time we walked in. It does a fantastic job at balancing the urban environment of downtown Portland with bohemian vibes. We knew that with a touch of glam that the venue would be transformed into the perfect fit for us. Plus, our experience with the location has always been top-notch and we knew they would take good care of us!

Intimate and Mystical Cenote Wedding

July 12, 2021 | kailey

This audacious couple wanted a stress-free day full of adventure and love. That’s exactly what they got. After first attempting the conventional wedding route, this couple quickly decided to prioritize their happiness—trading traditions for a spiritual, destination elopement. With the help of wedding designers Mexico Explorer and Events Weddings Mexico, Lindsay and Scott created a free-spirited ceremony in a mystical Cenote

Letting the lush jungle scenery speak for itself, most of the decor elements focused on enhancing the beachy reception space. Neutral floral arrangements by Vanessa Jaimes along with the palm tree draped twinkle lights made this intimate celebration anything but boring.

Ceremony photographer That Moment Photo and reception photographer Andre Gouin teamed up to capture every element of this intimate and mystical wedding. From the trek through the jungle to the beachfront reception, these images will have adventurous couples packing their bags and taking their nuptials on the road

More From Planner Michelle Acosta On This Cenote Wedding

Lindsay and Scott are an intrepid couple that wanted an intimate, mystical, and unique experience from beginning to end. They wanted live music, dancing, drinking, eating, and lots of smiles.

For their ceremony, they chose a private cenote because it was out of the ordinary, in the middle of the jungle, and without any phone signal. It was an unforgettable and powerful experience—especially the Mayan ritual that connected their souls.

How Loved Ones Involvement Changes Everything

My dad flew all the way to Mexico to be a part of our day. He walked me through the jungle— down some tricky, wooden steps—to meet my husband in a Cenote. That meant the whole world to me.

Prioritize You During The Wedding Planning Process

My advice would be to do what’s best for you and your partner. We attempted to go the traditional route but we’re very easily overwhelmed by everyone else’s happiness and expectations. So, we stuck to what we knew would work best for us and built our dream wedding from that. I did not feel stressed, overwhelmed or obligated to do anything but be the bride. That felt very freeing.

Small Wedding Without Sacrificing Decor

Our dinner was something special. We had the most stunning floral arrangement and candle lit dinner. One thing that really stood out to me was that our two best friends stood and gave speeches that told stories about us individually as well as our commitment to one another. That wasn’t something we had asked anyone to do, so it really meant a lot to us.
