You’ve picked the bridesmaid dresses your bridal party will wear as they stand beside you on your big day, but what about what they wear before getting glammed up? Bridesmaid robes not only help your crew look cohesive during getting ready photos, but your party will feel both comfy and special while getting into hair and makeup. To help you check this off your to-do list, we’ve rounded up our favorite bridesmaid robes in satin, linen, lace, and more.

Colorful Striped Robes

Looking to throw a colorful Southwest-inspired wedding? Then you definitely need these colorful striped robes. Not only does the pop of color photograph well, but your bridesmaids will also love having these to lounge around the pool after your special day.

Beachy Striped Robes

One of the best parts about staying in a hotel is their plushy spa-like robes you get to wear around. These beachy striped robes resemble that look for a comfy yet chic getting-ready ensemble.

Colorful Floral Robes

Floral robes are some of the most common for a getting-ready look, and we know why. They’re playful, flirty, and look totally cute when everyone is matching. If you’re having a spring or summer wedding, this is a fun way to incorporate your color palette and include a whimsical element before the big day begins.

Dark Floral Robes

Want to incorporate florals into your special day but having a fall or winter wedding? Don’t fret! These dark floral robes allow you to include the feminine pattern while making things a bit moodier.

Pink Lace Robes

Pink lace robes are another great popular choice. They’re girly, playful, and timeless. We love how this bride put all of her girls in light pink and opted to put her maid of honor in a dark pink to stand out.

Simple Satin Robes

If pink doesn’t match the vibe that you are going for, but you still want to put your bridal party in satin, you’re in luck. There are so many simple satin robes out there that come in a wide variety of colors. Yellow, blue, red, black, you name it.

Tassel Robes

Is your day whimsical and boho? Then you need tassel robes. Although they’re fairly simple, the tassel detail gives it a macrame look which is the epitome of free-spirited.

Ivory Lace Robes

Who says brides are the only ones who get to wear white? There’s something to be said about matching with your closest friends on your big day. The ivory lace is–and always will be–a classic look.

Hand Crafted Saskatchewan Woods Micro Wedding

April 29, 2021 | riley

Getting married during a pandemic is less than ideal, but Joelle and Tyler made the most of it by hosting their DIY Saskatchewan woods micro wedding at Wicks Retreat. Although the venue started as lodging for Tyler’s family, they transformed it into an entirely new space. They completed the decor with wild flower arrangements from Tisdale Florist, romantic cafe lighting, and DIY touches–including the ceremony arch, signage, and centerpieces.

And to keep up with the DIY theme, Joelle’s mother–who’s a chef–and her two closest friends prepared all of the food for the special day. From charcuterie boards to a roasted pig and homemade cookies, their menu was the epitome of comfort food.

We’re so glad that Junebug member Sarah Meagan Photography was there to capture every personalized touch of the day. So whether you’re looking for DIY inspiration, or you can’t get enough forest nuptials, these woodland “I do’s” are sure to inspire!

Why A Saskatchewan Woods Micro Wedding At Wicks Retreat

Looking back on the day, we can honestly say that Wicks Retreat was the perfect venue for us. We tied the knot in the middle of a forest, in front of a beautiful cabin, surrounded by people who love and support us. Our original plan was for 200+ guests in more of a traditional hall. When restrictions were put in place due to COVID-19, the space no longer made sense, and we had to start thinking of other options. We originally had Wicks Retreat booked for Tyler’s family to stay during the wedding, but it quickly became the obvious choice to host the whole event.

Adding Personal Touches To The Day

Our ceremony was full of personal touches. Joelle’s sister led a team of people that consisted of family and friends to decorate the entire space. There was a memorial table in honor of Joelle’s dad that held a candle to acknowledge his presence. Her cousin entertained guests on the piano as they waited, and her aunt Wanda performed the ceremony. We committed our lives to each other in front of a beautiful arch that was made by Tyler’s dad and decorated by a close friend. We also took a moment before the ceremony began to be fully present and to look out at everyone who was there to support us. Joelle’s wedding ring was also extremely personal as it was the ring that her dad had given to her mom as they exchanged their vows.

A Homemade Meal Prepared By The Bride’s Mom

Joelle’s mom is a chef, so–along with two of her closest friends, Heather and Hope–she prepared and served a menu that ensured no guest left hungry. We started with charcuterie boards full of a variety of cheese, meat, homemade pickles and jellies, veggies from the farmers market, and fresh fruit. For our main course, we were incredibly honored to have a family friend–Herman–volunteer to spend the day roasting a pig which was paired with homemade buns, a variety of salads, and baked beans. Lastly, guests enjoyed a table full of snacks that included homemade cookies, caramel popcorn, nuts and bolts, fruit tarts, and cream puffs, as well as our wedding cake made by a local bakery.

Lavish And Lush Holly Farm Wedding

April 29, 2021 | Junebug Weddings

String lights, tropical plants, and lavish greenery—this Holly Farm wedding truly was a hidden tropical oasis. When Ranu and Rob found this venue—nestled in the hills of California—they knew it was the one because of how unique it is. And to go with the theme of the venue, the floral arrangements from Big Sur Flowers gave the feeling of an island destination with pops of pink anthuriums and strung carnations.

The fashion in this wedding is as spectacular as the location. Ranu wore a stunning bridal gown with a floral chiffon overlay and a plunging neckline. And for total sunny California vibes, the bridesmaids rocked matching dandelion yellow gowns. Thankfully, Kadi Tobin captured every inch of this lush, detailed-filled nuptial so keep scrolling to see this tropical hideaway.

Tender Moments

Our first look and private vows were the most intimate and special part of the day. Having time before the ceremony to just be with each other and say our vows was incredibly emotional but unforgettable. The photos captured from these moments were also some of the most tender and loving, and we both felt more prepared going into our ceremony and reception after having a little bit of alone time just for us.

Wedding Advice For Nearlyweds

It’s easy to get wrapped up in the details, but zooming out and seeing the bigger picture can help you make decisions on where to spend your money and effort. Also, save yourself a headache and work with vendors that are communicative and trusted. Finally, if you’re agonizing over a decision that won’t impact your wedding budget that greatly, go for the option you feel the strongest about. At the end of the day, you’ll save mental energy by having made the decision and know in the end it’s what you envisioned.

A Holly Farm Wedding

Our venue just felt so magical. The Holly Farm team really makes you feel like a part of the family, and their hospitality is so special and unique. It truly feels like such a unique space that is an oasis in Carmel Valley. We were just absolutely wowed by the mix of spaces, the on-site accommodations, and the beauty of the plants everywhere. We both knew immediately that it was the venue for us, especially knowing that they only host one wedding per weekend and guests tend to stay for several days.

Bringing A Slice of NYC to California

We DIY’ed our table names and cards. Having our wedding in California was exciting for us because we love destination weddings and traveling. But we also love our NYC neighborhood, the East Village, and we wanted to make sure that felt like a part of the weekend too. I bought a disposable black and white camera and walked around my neighborhood to take pictures of all of our favorite bars and restaurants. Then, I got the film developed and mounted the photos on table cards, which I then had a friend calligraphy on. I loved that we were able to bring a slice of NYC to California.
