Chic & Elegant Farmhouse Backyard Wedding At The Roost

Gabriela and Ricardo initially planned a wedding in Spain. But when things didn’t work out, their best friend stepped in and offered their country house. The change in plans worked out for the best because their farmhouse backyard wedding was everything they envisioned and more. With the help of their trusted wedding team, they pulled off an elegant farmhouse backyard wedding using contemporary rustic decor, dreamy wildflowers, and chic wedding fashion.

Surrounded by towering trees, the farm’s natural beauty provided a stunning ceremony backdrop. All that was needed were floral pillars and grounded arrangements to frame the moment they exchanged loving vows at the altar. For the tented reception that followed, they incorporated a tablescape adorned with vintage accents, wild garden blooms, and bread, fruit, and nuts as decor. The pair elevated the vibe by adding string lights above the alfresco setting.

Packed with rustic charm and sentimental touches, you have to see all the incredible details the talented Junebug members Love Bears captured. If you and your partner have been searching for backyard wedding ideas to draw inspiration from, then look no further.

How Their Farmhouse Backyard Wedding Came To Be

When planning our wedding, we wanted it to feel like a giant dinner party versus a traditional wedding. We had to cancel our first wedding in Mallorca, Spain, due to Covid, and our best friend generously stepped in and offered their country house, The Roost. Our venue was a beautiful modern farmhouse in upstate NY, and we wanted to complement the space. We went with a contemporary rustic/farm style, lots of unpolished woods, muted color linens, wildflowers, and long tables filled with fresh bread, fruits, and nuts as tabletop decor. Finding rentals for our vision was hard, so we sourced much of the decor from different Etsy vendors and the big stuff from a rental company called North County Vintage.

Create a day you’ll truly love and feel like you versus trying to copy something you see online. So much work and stress go into planning a wedding. Remember to enjoy it too. We wanted our wedding to be fun for everyone, including ourselves. We decided not to fuss over small details and to be as flexible as possible.
