Minimal and Modern Moroccan Elopement

March 9, 2022 | kailey

A rich color palette, intricate patterns, and  striking architecture—this styled shoot includes everything we love about modern Moroccan elopements. Drawing inspiration from Berber Art, Junebug photographer Fotomagoria planned this gorgeous elopement inspiration with Le Perle Events, Party Maroc, and a team of talented vendors to showcase two captivating locations in Marrakech.

This talented team started the day at the exquisite Riad Maison Anaroze. Terracotta florals created by The Bloom Room were the standout features that balanced the venue’s minimal aesthetic. While the floating airy florals above regal peacock chairs added a dreamy feel to the space.

You may think the florals can’t be topped, but this styled shoot’s fashion game was on another level. The groom donned a dashing selection of differently colored suits starting with a brown velvet suit jacket, later swapping it for a caramel and toffee toned relaxed suit vest. The bride stunned in her puff-sleeved ethereal dress with a floating skirt and low-cut back. Later changing  into a corset dress featuring a sheer boned bodice, puff sleeves, and a high slit. Talk about an epic outfit change!

With an incredible view of the Marrakech skyline—this enchanting elopement inspiration wrapped up as the sun started to set from the rooftop terrace of Palais Lamrani. Featuring an extraordinary lush garden with crystal lanterns, mosaic art tiles, and a scalloped marble fountain—the restored 19th-century palace exudes traditional Moroccan charm.

Mystical and magical, Marrakech is often said to be one of the most beautiful destinations and it makes for the perfect backdrop for any wedding. Scroll through to see every incredible detail you won’t want to miss this modern Moroccan elopement inspiration as captured by Fotomagoria.

Classy and Funky Bread Bar Wedding

Free-spirited, colorful, fun, and bursting with personality—Jess and Libby’s Bread Bar wedding was the perfect combination of classy and funky. The couple along–with their planner Kendra Kimball–made sure to tie in their love for family, travel, music, and food into their big day to create an experience where everyone felt special.

The ceremony was held at the quaint little white church in the historic mountain town of Silver Plume. Libby looked effortlessly cool in her short wedding dress paired with white Converse while Jess rocked a navy blue suit. The couple exchanged their vows as their adorable rescue dog Millie looked on. And in a touching tribute to their grandmothers, flowers and books were placed on their vacant seats to honor their memory.

The reception followed at the iconic Bread Bar, an 1800s-era bakery built at the base of the Rocky Mountains. Using colorful florals and hanging greenery created by floral designer Emma Van Vranken, they blended the concept of a hidden, overgrown courtyard with the vintage charm of the bar. Window decals, mismatched lounge seating, neon signs, a canopy of string lights, and lampshades added an eclectic touch to the entire setting.

From the cocktails named after late loved ones and the picture wall with a photo of every single guest to the Shih Tzu wedding cake and the tapas-style wedding menu inspired by their travels to Spain, no important detail was forgotten. Scroll through these amazing images captured by Bridget Burnett to see the many beautiful ways this couple chose to showcase their love for each other and their family on their big day.

Their Big Day Authentically Reflects Them

We are so proud of how the day was authentically us. We stayed true to ourselves when planning—bright colors, unique food, aura reader, and banging music are our vibe. And doing our thing no matter how it was perceived made it more special for our guests and us.

Wedding Planning Advice From The Newlyweds

Our advice is don’t take it too seriously and be yourselves. A few months before our wedding, I was in a bike accident and tore several ligaments in my knee and broke my femur. Bridgett Burnett, our photographer, did an amazing job making it look like I was much more agile than I was. I had this idea of doing this crazy exercise and diet to get in mad shape for the wedding and wear Manolo Blahniks that day. That clearly didn’t happen, but I had a hell of a lot more fun planning and experiencing the day by not having that pressure of looking “perfect” for the day. Also, get a wedding planner and trust them. It saves money long-term, lowers stress, and makes your ideas a reality. Kendra Kimball was amazing and helped us find Bridget and all our other vendors.

The Most Memorable Moments

My closest friends sang our favorite songs at the ceremony. It was overwhelming to share my friend’s talents with our community. For Jess, it was an intimate dinner with our friends and community. After isolating with COVID, it was so meaningful.

Personal Touches Throughout Their Bread Bar Wedding

We served cocktails named after late family members with their caricatures on the menu. Our favorite songs were sung by best friends. We wrote a letter to our guests thanking them. We created a picture wall that highlighted a picture of us with every guest from a special moment in our life. Our wedding cake was a replica of our Shih Tzu, Millie.

A Very Special DIY Picture Wall With Their Loved Ones

We blew up pictures of different sizes of guests with us over our lifetime. We used vintage frames and created a picture wall that was the backdrop for our reception. My grandmother had a similar wall in her home and was the inspiration.

The Couple Had a Special Spanish Themed Wedding Menu

Spain is our favorite place in the world, and we went on a road trip through Spain a few years ago. Those travels inspired our menu. We had 4-5 small tapas plates and then a larger plate. We also had churros and a dessert bar. Late night snacks included tacos in a bag, our favorite meal when camping.

8 Unique Wedding Send Off Ideas

March 8, 2022 | kailey

Vows have been exchanged, the cake has been cut, and you’ve busted a move with all of your favorite people. Now, it’s time for an exit as grand as your love. And don’t forget that when it comes to planning the end of your wedding reception, you also have to get your guests out of the venue on time without ruining their fun memories of the celebration. That’s why we’re ditching the sparklers for unique wedding send-off ideas that’ll make for a fun and picture-perfect exit.

From fireworks to parades and even late-night snacks, here are the top wedding send-off ideas you’ll actually want to incorporate into your big day.

Wedding Send Off Ideas

1. Fireworks

Talk about going out with a bang—literally! If you’re looking to take your reception to the next level, a fireworks display is the way to go. But before lighting up the sky, there are extra safety precautions and clearances you’ll have to consider. Before choosing a grand firework exit talk with your wedding planner and venue about your options. If you get the green light, make sure your photographer knows the plan and simply enjoy that magical final moment of your day.

Junebug tip

If your heart is sold on a grand firework exit, you’ll want to make sure you’re asking all the right questions during your venue search. On top of the important questions to ask wedding venues before booking, you’ll want to confirm they allow fireworks on their property. Doing this before booking will help you narrow down your search and help sort out logistics.

2. Let It Snow

No matter where or when you tie the knot, a snow grand exit is always an option. And we know what you’re thinking. Even in summer? On the beach? Absolutely! You can now purchase fake, biodegradable snow confetti which means your incredible grand exit photos don’t have to harm the environment—a double win!

Shop Biodegradable Snow Confetti: 50 Snow Wedding Confetti Snow Packets ($19.70); Snow Confetti ($0.85); Let It Snow Confetti Poppers ($5.85); 100 Bags White Snow Wedding Confetti ($43.35); Let It Snow Wedding Confetti Pack ($11.82)

3. Smoke Bombs

Every smoke show couple deserves a dramatic, eye-catching exit. And smoke bombs are just that. This long-living trend has taken the wedding world by storm because of the texture and color it brings to wedding photos. We’ve seen smoke bombs be used for engagement sessions and wedding party portraits, but why not your grand exit?

4. Confetti

No party is complete without confetti—weddings included. And after dancing the night away, we can’t think of a more fitting way to bring your reception to a close than confetti poppers. Much like the artificial snow, you can now purchase biodegradable confetti that’s safe for the environment and makes for show-stopping photos.

Shop Confetti: Push-Pop Confetti ($12.00); 50 Packets Pink and White Flake Confetti ($19.70); Biodegradable Confetti ($20.48); Wedding Confetti Cannon ($4.50); Mini Confetti Bags ($20)

5. Last Dance

Odds are you’ve thought about your first dance. But, what about the last dance? The last dance is an underrated wedding tradition that makes for an incredible end to any celebration. If the idea of a formal exit doesn’t appeal to you, close your night with all your guests on the dance floor instead. You can opt for a sweet and sentimental slow dance or end the night with an upbeat crowd favorite. Either way, you can’t go wrong!

Junebug tip

A wedding DJ’s job stretches far beyond picking out songs. On top of their long list of wedding day tasks, they also are in charge of keeping your wedding timeline in check and announcing transitions throughout the day. If you’ve chosen a last dance, make sure your DJ is in the loop so they can announce the final song and instructions for exiting the venue.

6. Parade Your Love

Parades are typically held in celebration of holidays and big events—your wedding fits that description. Grab your significant other, your wedding party, and guests for one last hurrah before the night ends. To take your parade to the next level, bring your band along as you parade your love through the streets.

7. Ride Off Into The Sunset

Rent a vintage car, hop on your motorcycle, a horse-drawn carriage, or even a moped—riding off into the sunset with your spouse will feel magical no matter which transportation you choose. But whatever you do, don’t forget the “just married” sign for the perfect cherry-on-top addition.

8. Late Night Snack Delivery

After dancing and drinking the night away, you and your guests are bound to be hungry when the night comes to a close—even after dinner and cake. That’s when it’s time to cue the curbside snacks. Think pizza delivery, food trucks, or pre-made snack packs.
