Wakefield Grand Micro Wedding at Sunset

July 20, 2021 | Junebug Weddings

When planning their Wakefield Grand micro wedding, Julie-Anne and Jayden knew they wanted an intimate celebration surrounded by their closest friends and family. With only two months to plan, wedding planner The Wandering Ivy helped create a gorgeous fall wedding filled with candles, twinkle lights, and autumn floral arrangements. To add to the coziness of the wedding, Julie-Anne and Jayden and their 16 guests enjoyed a five-course meal with a live pianist at their reception.

What truly set this intimate wedding apart were the personal touches throughout the wedding. Photos and mementos were put in the guests’ rooms, Julie-Anne’s father officiated the wedding, and they had no wedding party. Junebug member Joel and Justyna captured every inch of this intimate wedding in Quebec. To add more inspiration to your micro wedding Pinterest board, keep scrolling.

Their Wakefield Grand Micro Wedding Details

We were proud of the experience we were able to provide our family and friends. With only 16 guests, we were able to really go above and beyond. We provided all our guests with accommodations and added personal touches to the rooms like photos and mementos. We also had no wedding party as everyone was equally as special to us. Along with the venue, we helped put together a delicious five-course fine dining meal that used fresh Québec ingredients and had special wine pairings.

Working With The Weather

I had been really stressed about the weather. On the day of, my mom and I arrived at the venue early to get ready and it was a beautiful day. Joni from Wandering Ivy was setting up the ceremony and she offered to do two set-ups for us for the reception. We’d have the first three dinner courses, then she would reset indoors when the temperature was planning to drop. We got two beautiful setups and we got to experience two unique feels. Outdoors was magical and indoors felt so romantic with all the candles. That was definitely memorable!

Don’t Chase Pinterest Perfection

With only two months to plan, we had to make quick decisions from the heart. We didn’t have time to sit and think or scroll through Pinterest for months trying to find the best of everything. And because of that on the day of, we were so blown away by how everything came together. We were genuinely excited and in awe. My advice would be to not get hung up on the small details and not to chase perfection. Go with what you like and trust your own gut.

Contemporary Portugal Palace Micro Wedding

Trimming down your guest list and having to downsize your wedding can feel like the end of the world. But Inês and Nelson’s Portugal palace micro wedding is proof that you don’t have to sacrifice your dream day just because your celebration scaled back in size. With the help of planner Prometo Amar-te, the couple tied the knot in a courtyard ceremony before enjoying a garden dinner with friends and a private first dance under a canopy of fairy lights.

While we write about weddings every single day, we love getting insight from the incredible vendor teams that help put together these dreamy weddings. After all, they’re the ones working closest with these amazing couples one-on-one! So naturally, we asked photographer Sandra of atmosphere what excited her most about Inês and Nelson’s day, and this is what she had to say.

Sandra of Atmosphere Photo On The Day

The day started at Oryza Guest House, where they got ready–but not before having an amazing brunch set for them and their closest friends. After this, they went up to get ready. Inês rocked a Justin Alexander dress, which she later paired with a leather jacket and cowboy boots for a sunset photography session. Nelson wore a Bordeaux-colored suit. They looked so cool and edgy together.

Since the ceremony was only for six people, it was arranged to be in the cloister instead of the chapel. Nelson couldn’t contain himself while Inês walked down the aisle, and his reaction will always be engraved in our hearts. Their love is so genuine, and we were witnessing it just there.

When the sun was finally setting, we went for the most gorgeous wedding dinner ever. A small table set outside for them, with every little detail carefully planned by their wedding planner–this was the perfect definition of a micro wedding.

Why A Contemporary Portugal Palace Micro Wedding

Being from Coimbra, there was only one place where we could have imagined getting married. Palácio de São Marcos is the most beautiful wedding venue in our region, and after visiting for a friend’s wedding, we were amazed by it. It was a bit of a challenge because it is huge, and we were afraid that it might look like too much for a small wedding like ours. But after speaking with our wedding planner and the venue, we were 100% sure that it would be the perfect place for us. Putting my wedding dress on in such a magnificent palace was unforgettable, and we had so many different spaces for different parts of our day. From the cloister where we had our ceremony to the entrance hall or the front garden where we took portraits to the garden outside where we had our dinner, everything was set up beautifully for our wedding.

Creating Memories That Will Last A Lifetime

From the simplicity of the brunch to the beauty of the ceremony surrounded by our closest friends to the exuberance of our dinner–it was all so memorable. But one of the moments we will always keep in our hearts was our first dance, just for us, in a magical and intimate ambiance.

Whimsical Bell Brook Farm Micro Wedding Inspiration

July 18, 2021 | kailey

A mini mobile reception bar, dainty floral arrangements, and an industrial event space—these were the ingredients needed to bring this Bell Brook Farm micro wedding to life. Wedding planner The Traveling Tee and her dream-team of vendors transformed an all-white, industrial space into a whimsical, fairytale venue.

The White Room—a historic Massachusetts event space—proved to be a stunning wedding venue, fit for small and large celebrations. The white brick walls, exposed industrial ceilings, and radiating natural light made for endless decor possibilities. The wedding’s neutral color palette was enhanced with the addition of light-pink accents in both the tablescape decor and floral arrangements by Bell Brook Farm

Photographer Jennifer Blalock documented the imperfectly-perfect details—like the asymmetrical floral ceremony arch and the mix-and-match table furniture—that made this intimate wedding inspiration one for the books.

The Traveling Tee On This Bell Brook Farm Micro Wedding

This modern whimsical shoot was designed and brought to life by Emily Day of Bell Brook Farm. She’s created floral collections for weddings that incorporated blush pinks, creams, and ironwork in her florals and tablescape. Her father focused on his passion for ironwork and created all the iron flowers used in the bouquet and candle holders. It was something I’ve never seen before and loved that it was a father-daughter duo who brought this to life.
