Trendy and Intimate Tulum Wedding

August 13, 2021 | riley

Although summer is drawing to an end, we refuse to let go of the warm weather and constant sunshine. Luckily for us, we’ve got weddings like Natalie and Conrad’s intimate Tulum wedding to help us hold onto the season a bit longer. With the help of Junebug member and planner Mango Weddings & Events, the Hotelito Azul Tulum was transformed into a wedding space complete with one of the most epic aisles we’ve ever seen–we’re talking an aisle set on top of a pool–and an abundance of dried florals arranged by Cherry Blossom Mexico.

The photos beautifully captured by Luxart Wedding Studio will surely have you breaking out your passports and packing your suitcases. So what are you waiting for? Keep scrolling to see portraits taken in the heart of the jungle, post-ceremony tequila shots, and an emotional wedding video surprise from the newlyweds’ families.

Why An Intimate Tulum Wedding

We wanted something true to our style, which is intimate, real, relaxed, and non-traditional. I wanted the colors to honor the colors that surround our everyday lives and go with the season of the time of year we got married. Our house is surrounded by over 40 plants, which is why I wanted green and terracotta because it reminds me of our home. We wanted everything to be outdoors for COVID reasons and our love for the ocean and outdoors made it easy.

The Couples’ Advice: Create A Wedding Budget

I am in finance, so I am an expert at budgeting, but I knew that it was important to stay under a certain amount based on the money we had saved and could save over six months of planning. We made it a point to have spreadsheets as we paid for things. Account for the most important things first and then work your way down to things you can be pickier about the cost or do yourself.

The Perks Of Having A Small Wedding

Because we only had 23 guests, we got to speak to every single person at our wedding and even got to take a group picture with everyone who attended. Everyone who wanted to speak also got to make a speech or toast, and they all came with tears and laughter.

Romantic And Intimate Sunset Elopement

August 12, 2021 | Junebug Weddings

The perfect venue for your elopement can truly be anywhere you dream of—even an art gallery. Mato – Art Gallery, or “O Mato,” was the perfect venue for this intimate sunset elopement with its unique backdrops, artistic structure, and stunning outdoor landscape. Bad Bad Maria wanted to blend weddings and art. Sharing the idea that weddings can be unconventional. Using the shadows and shapes of the art, this talented team kept the decor and wedding fashion equally as artistic.

The artful decor consisted of natural colors, cascading roses, plush pillows, and tall candlesticks. Plus, the vows were written on autumn tree leaves—cute and creative. To add to the artistic feel, the wedding day fashion consisted of a backless lace dress by Jesus Peiro, a crisp black suit, and Converse sneakers. We could go on, but we’ll let the stunning images do the talking.

Here’s what Bad Bad Maria had to say about this Intimate Sunset Elopement:

When we talk about a wedding, many couples immediately think of a church or a typical venue. But there are so many different places where we can have beautiful weddings. How about a unique piece of art? We’re a Portuguese collective wedding planner that believes weddings don’t have a formula, rules, and they don’t need to be conventional.

Elegant And Traditional Cultural Fusion Wedding Inspiration Shoot

August 11, 2021 | riley

Here at Junebug, we have extremely talented vendors that create magic time and time again. From fairytale weddings to styled shoots that showcase love of all different kinds, we feel truly lucky to share their work with our readers. So we couldn’t be more excited to share this cultural fusion wedding inspiration shoot put together by Junebug member Lesley S. Photography and planner La Bohème Wedding.

The French vendors wanted to share the blending of cultures done in a traditional yet modern way. Japanese culture was represented in the flower necklace exchange and the red and white color palette. Nods to French culture included the Château Sentout castle venue, the vineyard-inspired wedding invitations, and the wine enjoyed during cocktail hour.

While we could try to explain every carefully curated detail–including how elegant the Audacieuse Adélaïde crepe wedding gown looked paired with the bold colored suit from Blandin & Delloye or just how romantic the candle-lit dinner was–we’re going to let photographer Lesley share her vision.

Junebug Member’s Thoughts On The Cultural Fusion Wedding Inspiration

This wedding inspiration shoot was inspired by Japanese culture and by different types of wedding trends that can be found in the French culture. Located near Bordeaux, le Château Sentout—the venue where this photoshoot took place—brings something magical and genuine to the whole scenography. It was important to us that future newlyweds could feel the castle atmosphere and see all of its potential through the photos.

The main goal of this photoshoot was to show two different cultures mixed together to create something unique. In our case, we were mainly targeting traditional Asian couples, especially Japanese ones.

Incorporating Two Different Cultures

There are different references to the Japanese culture–Tanabata’s Tenzakus and the flower necklace exchange during the ceremony–showing that it’s possible to respect reserved Asian traditions while introducing modern touches. More delicate details such as the linen folded like Furoshiki were also represented. French culture was represented through the venue, the choice of stationery, and the wine and different beverages served during the cocktail hour.

Rustic Romantic Decor

We wanted to mix different trends–rustic, raw materials, romantic–with the color palette and a more refined and minimalist style, like with the stationery and the plates. We also used the greenery environment of the castle, especially for the ceremony setup.
