Warm And Inviting St. Vrain Winter Wedding

May 11, 2023 | kailey

Bill and Zach wanted a romantically charged celebration centered (literally) around what matters most–their love. What better way to achieve this than by saying ‘I do’ in the center of the room, surrounded by their nearest and dearest? By opting for circle seating, they created a feeling of intimacy and closeness, which was the very essence of their dream celebration. And with the help of planner Dotting the i, they pulled off the ultimate lovefest with a one-of-a-kind ceremony, a vibrant dance floor, and a modern industrial venue

Wanting a moody and dim-lit wedding space, The St. Vrain was an integral part of bringing their vision to life. Complete with exposed brick walls, wood ceiling trusses, and sparkling chandeliers, only minimal decor was needed beyond the existing features. To add an extra pop of personality, the couple used candles and rugs, which were later repurposed in their reception space. After their private vow reading and circular ceremony, the real party began when the guests hit the dance floor. The reception atmosphere was electric and, thanks to DJ TH Entertainment, was one of the most memorable parts of the night.

From the unique twist on traditional ceremony seating to the luscious floral installations by Emma Lea Floral, photographer Mat Schramm Photography captured every detail that challenges traditional wedding standards. And lucky for you, you have full access to all the unconventional inspo that’ll make the perfect addition to your wedding mood board.

Looking For A Sign To Have A Private Vow Reading? This Is It

Before the ceremony, we did a private vow reading. It was just us and our photographer. We were both nervous to honestly and openly express ourselves in front of a large crowd, so we had an intimate moment to share those feelings with each other. This experience allowed us to be more vulnerable, creating a memory that we’ll never forget.

A Candle Unity Ceremony Completed This St. Vrain Winter Wedding

We wanted the vibe of our St. Vrain winter wedding ceremony to be intimate and romantic. Candles, flowers, and loose greenery decorated the dimly lit space. A string quartet was playing some of our favorite classical and contemporary songs. And we kicked it all off with a candle unity ceremony where our guests were each given a candle. Next to us was a candle that represented our loved ones who couldn’t be with us. Using the flame of this candle, our parents lit theirs and began to pass the flame around the room until everyone’s candle was lit. Once surrounded by the love and light of our friends and family, we recited our vows and exchanged our rings.

A Dance Floor Guests Will Be Talking About This St. Vrain Winter Wedding Forever

From the moment the wedding DJ opened up the dance floor, it was PACKED! We had so much fun dancing with our family and friends the entire night. Even after the wedding, we heard from many of our guests that it was the best dance floor they have ever experienced at a wedding.

When you picture floral bridesmaid dresses, odds are your mind is immediately transported to spring. But that’s not always the case. No matter what season you tie the knot, the mismatched bridesmaid dress trend is a fun and creative way to add personality to your wedding party’s attire. Remember, it’s your wedding, your rules. And there’s no reason why floral patterns can’t be worn all year round.

From the best places to shop to our must-know tips, here’s how to mix and match floral bridesmaid dresses for those getting married in the spring, summer, fall, or winter. Cue the inspiration.

Tips For Rocking Floral Bridesmaid Dresses

Before we jump into our inspiration and shopping recommendations, we’re going to leave you with a few must-know tips that’ll help you pull off this stylish wedding trend.

  • Before shopping, create a mood board and stick with it
  • Get your wedding party involved in the shopping experience
  • Stick with one designer or brand to create a cohesive look
  • Don’t underestimate the power bouquets will have on completing the look

6 Ways To Wear Floral Bridesmaid Dresses All Year Round

1. Different Patterns, Same Color Palette

Your wedding fashion should be a reflection of your personality. And if you’re not the traditional type and instead searching for ways to spice up your wedding day fashion choices, consider having each of your bridesmaids wear different printed dresses. Once you settle on a color palette, have your crew pick a variety of patterns that beautifully fit into your wedding vision

2. Same Pattern, Different Dress Styles

If you’re going for a cohesive look, make a statement by having your wedding party rock the same floral pattern. You pick the pattern, but get your bridesmaids involved in selecting their dress style. From strapless floor-length gowns to halter midi dresses, there are endless options you can mix and match to add an extra pop of personality.

If you have a large wedding party, including eight or more people, it might be overwhelming to have everyone dressed in the same bold dresses. Therefore, this is the perfect option for smaller, more intimate celebrations

3. Incorporate Both Solid and Patterned Dresses

Solid color or patterned dresses—why settle for one when you could have the best of both worlds? Get creative with your wedding day fashion and experiment with various combinations. You can opt for dresses within the same color family, play around with different shades, or stick to your wedding color palette. Though it may require some extra coordination with your bridesmaids, the end result will be well worth it.

4. Pick A Neutral, Minimalist Floral Design

When it comes to floral patterns, vibrant colors aren’t the only option. And sometimes there truly is beauty in simplicity—especially when it comes to mixing your wedding day fashion. For a chic and sophisticated bridesmaid look, consider choosing dresses with a variety of neutral and minimalist floral designs. This understated style can be perfect for any season, adding a subtle pop of personality that’ll complement your overall wedding design.

5. Rock Warmer Colors In Chilly Months

Florals aren’t just for spring. And if you’re throwing a fall or winter wedding, don’t limit yourself. If your wedding vision includes your wedding crew rocking floral bridesmaid dresses, experiment with warmer colors. Be bold and creative with your color choices to achieve a stunning and memorable look for your wedding party.

6. Play Around With Different Textures

When we say “floral,” we aren’t just talking about the pattern. If you’re searching for a bridesmaid dress that’s subtle yet beautiful, consider opting for styles that feature intricate floral detailing woven into the fabric. These dresses go beyond the traditional floral pattern and add a unique touch to your wedding party’s attire. It’s the perfect option for those planning a winter wedding who want a dress that provides both warmth and elegance. Don’t be afraid to mix it up by adding jumpsuits as well.
