2018 Wedding Trends You’ll Want to Use for Your Big Day

January 2, 2018 | nicole

Are you in the midst of planning a 2018 wedding? Shake up your wedding design with the latest in wedding trends! The great thing about trends, whether in fashion, interior design, or wedding decor, is that you can pick and choose what resonates with you to add a modern touch to your overall look. From bridal fashion to what to do with your table decor (spoiler alert: it’s not what you might think!), these 2018 wedding trends have a little something for every upcoming wedding.

Celestial Themes

Couples are seeing stars in their wedding design for 2018 and we think that idea is out of this world! Whether you take design cues from literal space – the sun, moon, and stars – or space-adjacent ideas like astrology, there are so many unique and beautiful ways to add a celestial vibe to your wedding. We especially love the use of moon phases and constellations in the wedding decor below!

Bell-Sleeve Wedding Dresses

Long-sleeved wedding gowns aren’t anything new, but the 2018 version is all about the bell sleeves! Pairing romantic lace with ’70s vibes has never been prettier than this year’s biggest bridal trend.

Geometric Ceremony Backdrops

Geometry isn’t new to the wedding decor world, but 2018 is going to see a lot of geometric ceremony backdrops in particular! We love the triangular A-frame arch design and have been seeing more and more of the full-circle backdrops popping up in majorly on-trend ceremonies. Looking for something totally different? Get inspired by shapes and do something all your own!

Kimonos

Looking to add a bit of boho to your bridal look? Skip the leather jacket and opt instead for a dreamy kimono! Whether you choose velvet or fringe, patterned or white, a bridal kimono gives your style a sense of free-spirited romance.

Neon Signs

We’re big fans of wedding decor that can be repurposed in your home and no statement piece makes a more seamless transition than a custom neon sign. Have one made with your last name, your favorite phrase, an inside joke, or a cheeky shape to add a little light and a lot of fun to your ceremony or reception decor.

Pampas grass and wheat make for an eye-catching accent throughout your wedding design that’s both elegant and earthy. Add a stalk or two to your bouquet or incorporate it into your ceremony arch or centerpieces for an unexpected look.
