Glamorous Las Vegas Desert Elopement

December 15, 2020 | Junebug Weddings

Arienne and Kevin’s Las Vegas desert elopement was head to toe glamorous with a jaw-dropping desert view and we are here for it. Their use of a portable champagne and donut cart contrasts against their Las Vegas desert elopement in the most tasteful, beautiful, and interesting way.  Don’t believe it? Keep scrolling to see more.

From Arienne’s dress with a ruffled train and a faux fur shawl to Kevin’s classic fitted black suit and bow tie, these two made the desert look chic. With the help of Flora Pop, these two made eloping look luxurious with a desert breeze and a chic floral bouquet. We’ll let the photos from Aimlee Photography do the talking from here.

A Las Vegas Desert Elopement

The most memorable part of the day was definitely the actual wedding ceremony. Who could ever forget vows with a view and breeze? The cute bar cart that Flora Pop provided with donuts and champagne was definitely an amazing touch. We chose the desert because its beauty surpasses the need for any florals. We were lucky to find Flora Pop who work in these settings regularly.

Working with Aimlee Photography

Working with our photographer Amy and her husband CJ was magical. They felt like friends who gave us time for more intimate moments when appropriate. Seemed sort of like a double date, but they were working and professional the entire time. It was great chemistry!

Intimate and Artistic Race & Religious Wedding in New Orleans

December 14, 2020 | riley

When two art lovers come together to plan their wedding day, you know that it’s going to be full of creative details and special touches. Heather and Brett’s intimate and artistic Race & Religious wedding was just that—and more. Though Heather did most of the planning herself, with the help of Mint Julep Productions, the couple turned their 1830’s Creole cottage venue into a romantic backdrop for their special day.

Using bright colors–including the mismatched bridesmaid’s dresses, cafe lights, and a copious amount of floral arrangements put together by Fete Urbane—the newlyweds brightened up the venue’s historic facade. And what would a celebration be in the vibrant city of New Orleans without beignets, smoked cocktails, and cigars? Don’t tell us. We don’t want to know.

Thankfully Junebug member Sophie Berard was there to capture every detail, so get that smooth jazz music playing and get to scrolling!

Including Loved Ones Who Have Passed

An important detail for me was having photos of my grandparents worked into my bouquet–I’ve lost all four of my grandparents. My mom did an incredible job of finding beautiful photos of them from her wedding and mounting them in charms. It was really special.

Why A Race & Religious Wedding

We’ve spent a lot of time at art museums and are both creative professionals, so art has played a big part in our relationship. We already had a trip planned to New Orleans for Brett’s birthday before we got engaged, so we took it as an opportunity to also look at venues. Race & Religious felt like the perfect fit. It was romantic and already had a lot of character. There is even a room upstairs where an artist drew small paintings on the wall as a homage to his time there. Because Race & Religious is so unique and beautiful, it took some pressure off of decor.

The Importance of A Wedding Planner

I took a “less is more” approach. I chose to not spend time or money on anything that didn’t add to the experience. Our wedding was intimate, with only 45 guests in attendance. I planned the wedding myself until a few weeks before when I hired Mint Julep to help bring it all together. Mint Julep already had a great relationship with almost all of my wedding vendors. I work full time, so this made the last few weeks a lot less stressful, as there’s a lot of moving pieces and loose ends to tie up. They were also incredible the day of and always had a glass of whiskey or champagne handy.

Incorporating New Orleans Culture Into Their Menu and Drinks

Since we had our wedding in New Orleans, it was important to us to have good food and music. For dinner, we chose to work with Black Pearl Catering. Their food was thoughtful and creative but heavily rooted in New Orleans cuisine. They took care of appetizers, a sit-down dinner, and beignets for dessert. They even made a beignet tray so guests could take a few with them for the road! A late addition was bringing on Cocktail Creative for a few curated cocktails. We chose a warm eggnog cocktail and their smoked cocktail. They made the smoked cocktails in the cigar room, and this drink also came with a bit of a show as they would infuse the smoke and then release it into the room.

Organic Latvia Destination Wedding at Abgunste Manor

December 13, 2020 | Junebug Weddings

Perfectly timed golden hour photos at the Abgunste Manor are the pièce de résistance, especially when it’s a wedding as grand as Linda and Vladisalvs’s. By having the reception before the wedding ceremony, this couple opted for a less-traditional route, which was a unique and perfect decision. On top of that, Linda and Vladisalvs got to spend quality alone time with their parents—nothing short of adorable.

With the help of wedding planner Ideju Agentura, this couple exchanged their I do’s at a picturesque location and added their own unique, personal touches to it by designing their invitations and hanging Christmas lights. The ceremony elevated a rustic manor by using oranges, blush pink, and dark grey accented with glam candelabras, bohemian florals, and glass lanterns. Don’t let us tell you everything—keep scrolling to be enchanted by this ceremony as captured by Diana Veinberga!

Golden Hour At This Abgunste Manor Wedding

The most important thing for us was the scenario for our wedding. Our favorite time of day is the golden hour, so it was very important for us to get married outside during then. Everything else had to be adapted to this crucial part. So, we met in the morning, held the wedding reception during the day, and got married in the evening. We hung long strips of Christmas lights a couple of days before to help provide light against the sunset. The ceremony was just as we wanted it to be.

A Day Filled With Surprises

Our maid of honor and best man organized a private, small gathering with our parents before we saw all our guests. They gave us some of our baby stuff and we shared stories about our childhood. It was a perfect moment we didn’t know we needed. We also got a surprise musical performance from the groom’s friends from university who rehearsing long before the wedding. The performance was unforgettable.

Always Add A Personal Touch

A couple of months before the wedding, we decided that we want to get to know our Officiant.  We met regularly 2-3 months before the wedding and often discussed the fundamental things to harmonize the planning process closer to the wedding. Because of this, Pastor Romans knew exactly what to tell us during the ceremony. He did not read long scriptures—instead, he spoke from the heart and knew exactly what we needed to hear. It gave the ceremony a very intimate touch.

Wedding Advice for Nearlyweds

Create a new email address to communicate with all the people involved in your wedding. We were able to easily look up all the information we needed because we kept it separate. If you hold a two-day wedding, make sure that you stick to your wedding theme for both days. For example, we had an oven-cooked pizza for breakfast and Gelato ice-cream. Guests noticed it and appreciated it. So it felt like we were still celebrating the wedding across both days.
