Incredible Modern Jackalope Hotel Micro Wedding

September 12, 2021 | riley

Merging two cultures into one wedding may seem like a large feat, but Elisabeth and Aviel proved it was possible–and made it look easy–at their Jackalope Hotel micro wedding. The couple hosted a classic Australian wedding and a traditional Chinese tea ceremony. Their day was complete with customary red Chinese attire to create one unforgettable multicultural day.

One look at the intimate affair and you would have no idea that the newlyweds planned the entire wedding during COVID. The special day was complete with a sun-filled ceremony overlooking a vineyard, earthy red and pink florals arranged by Tremella Botanicals, three different bridal outfits, and a sleek, modern reception full of dancing and laughter.

From incredibly artistic wedding portraits to an epic ring bearer ride to a colored smoke bomb-filled reception, photographer Tahnee Jade Photography captured every unique detail of this mini matrimony.

Natural Elements At This Modern Jackalope Hotel Micro Wedding

Planning a wedding during a pandemic isn’t fun, but it was easy to adapt our style and design once we agreed on the venue. We chose Jackalope because of its stunning terrace that overlooks a beautiful vineyard accompanied by a really cool, modern dining room. It’s one of the coolest hotels in Australia and we adopted a modern, clean, and black-tie style for our wedding. Given the natural spectacle of the venue, there wasn’t much that we needed to do to style the place beyond florals. Bek, our florist, did an amazing job creating a floral crescent that complimented the ceremony backdrop and added warmth to the modern reception room. We designed the other styling elements ourselves–from the invitations to the signage to the table signs and orders of service.

A Memorable Ceremony

Our most memorable moment was standing up at the front of the terrace with the sun shining on us, surrounded by our family and friends and the most amazing view of the vineyards. Just an hour before this moment it was absolutely pouring down with rain.

Wedding Planning Advice From The Couple

We have three pieces of advice for other couples. First, don’t procrastinate and put things off, even if it seems small at the time–there’s always more to do that you can’t see now. Next, you can’t please everybody, including yourselves. The quicker you’re willing to compromise together the easier it’ll be to plan.  Finally, make sure to soak it all in on the day, even if things aren’t going to plan. Time will go by faster than you can imagine, and you don’t want to make bad memories.

Working With Tahnee Jade Photography

Tahnee was incredibly fun to work with and made us feel really comfortable in front of the camera. She was super easy-going, provided clear directions, and had an incredible eye for some seriously cool shots. She also remained flexible even late into the night when we were running over time.

Creative Urban Wedding Inspiration At The Asylum

September 11, 2021 | kailey

Remember, with talented wedding vendors by your side no dream wedding is out of reach. Which is why Junebug member Igor Demba Photography created a wedding that emphasized the power of florals, decor, and fashion. Proving with the help of talented industry pros, the addition of these elements can turn any space into a dreamy wedding venue—even a rundown, historic chapel.

The Asylum—complete with stained glass windows and exposed brick—was the perfect blank slate for this urban wedding inspiration. To preserve the venue’s existing charm the vendor team decided that using a neutral color palette was the way to go. A neutral vow rug, candles, and earth-toned floral arrangements by Emma Cox Floristry made for a stunningly cohesive “I do” space.

Maybe you’re looking for epic wedding day fashion inspiration. Maybe you’re in search of ways to transform an ordinary space into your dream venue. Whatever it may be, this London ceremony is the perfect starting place to pull inspiration from. So, get your Pinterest boards ready and start scrolling to see more.

Photographers Thoughts On This Urban Wedding Inspiration

This styled shoot was a labor of love. It was dreamt up for my upcoming online editing course—The Great Edit—and I truly wanted to create something special for it. The key was to bring together a strong team of creatives, give them strong visual concepts and inspirational mood boards. Then giving them the space to be themselves, bring their own ideas, allow creativity to flourish, and encourage a spirit of collaboration. The team was incredible and the shoot is a celebration of their artistry.
