Forest, Ocean, And A Beautiful Beach Elopement

October 1, 2021 | kailey

If you’re trying to decide between a forest, ocean, or beach elopement you should pick all three just like this couple. Chris and David wanted an adventurous elopement that was made up of special moments and stunning scenery. Making Big Sur, California the perfect “I do” location—a picture-perfect backdrop without distracting from the main event, their love.

Photographer Heather K Purdy captured every powerful moment, from exchanging “I do’s” amongst the rugged California coastline to celebrating with a champagne shower on the beach. Though these moments took center stage, they still used fashion and soft floral boutonnieres by Cassia Foret as a way to add personality in a subtle and show-stopping way.

If you’re searching for simple personality-filled elopement inspiration, look no further. This jaw-dropping beach elopement is the perfect place to start pulling your inspiration from.

The Power Of Eloping

We wanted to make sure that we made it about David and I. We ended up choosing to elope because our wedding planning was becoming about everyone else. We wanted to prioritize our love and we wouldn’t change a thing.

Little Moments That Made For A Memorable Beach Elopement

One of the most memorable moments was walking along the beach and spotting a random butterfly made of shells. David and I both have very important late relatives whom we associate with butterflies. It was very special and neither of us said a word when we came across it; we just looked at one another and knew.

Plans Changed Due To COVID

We were supposed to get married in Amsterdam spring of 2020. We had to cancel all of our plans due to the pandemic and decided to just wait till things felt right. We had always wanted to drive the Pacific Coastal Highway in California and Big Sur has always seemed like a dream. It all just fell into place and was more amazing than we could ever have imagined.

Working With Heather K Purdy

Heather K Purdy is incredible. We actually met the day before our wedding and she invited us to lunch the day after. So, we basically saw her everyday that we were in Big Sur and still keep in touch. I’m a photographer myself, and working with Heather could not have been more amazing. I released all control and she made our moments even more memorable.

We’re here to remind you that choosing an elopement-styled ceremony doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice a beautiful wedding day. There are endless ways to incorporate your personality like Chris and David. After finalizing a budget and selecting a destination, find a wedding photographer you can trust to capture your love story.

Dazzling Achromatic Color Palette And Venue Inspiration

September 29, 2021 | Junebug Weddings

Two silky wedding gowns, a rooftop photoshoot, and an achromatic color palette —this wedding inspiration is the definition of unique and jaw-dropping. Wedding planner and Junebug member D’inspiration Event & Wedding Planner and her talented team headed to the historical venue of Kamenolom Jadrankamen Pucisca in Croatia to create a wedding like no other. They dressed up this stone structure with romantic, glam décor by using creative elements like an art structure at the altar and clear acrylic chairs for their guests.

Only this talented team could take a local stonemason and turn it into a dazzling reception area. The reception was incredibly romantic with a family-style reception table dressed in white orchids and gold, oversized dandelions, and the stonemasonry lit by candlelight. You’re going to want to scroll down to see it all for yourself, and thankfully, Tomislav Marcijus captured the entire day.

How Much Does A Wedding Videographer Cost

Despite how much time goes into planning a wedding, the day seems to fly by in the blink of an eye. Before you can even begin to process what’s happening, the day is over and all you’re left with is the memories. That’s why we’re firm believers that a videographer is an absolute must-have for every wedding.

Wedding videographers capture soundbites and intimate moments that you don’t want to forget, which we believe is absolutely priceless. However, if you’re on the fence, we’re here to break it down for you so you can understand why the extra wedding expense is worth it.

How Much A Wedding Videographer Costs

The average cost of a wedding videographer varies depending on your location, whether or not it’s peak wedding season, how many hours of coverage you want, and how experienced the videographer is. However, you can expect to pay anywhere from $1,500 to $10,000, with the average falling right around the $1,800 range.

What’s Typically Included In The Price

Videographers typically offer packages, although these can be personalized based on what you’re looking for. However, the four things that you’re paying for and can expect from a videographer are high-quality equipment, videography services, post-production editing, and a final copy.

If you find that the videographer that you want to hire doesn’t include extras that you’re interested in within their packages, ask them about a la carte additional services. These extras can include:

  • Drone footage – Drones are popular, especially at destination weddings. They have the ability to film hundreds of feet in the air which also makes your wedding video more unique. The extra equipment needed for this can cost you anywhere from $1,000 to $3,000
  • Travel – Just because you’re getting married in a far-off place doesn’t mean you can’t have your dream videographer. Just be prepared to pay for their travel. You will likely pay for their accommodations, meals, and travel
  • Extra edits – Videographers spend hours editing your final wedding video, so if you request any additional edits, it’s likely going to cost you
  • Filming before and after the wedding – Whether your wedding is a weekend long affair or you host a brunch for your friends and family the day of the wedding, filming these moments is going to be additional cost. Discuss plans with your videographer as soon as possible so they can check their availability and they can give you a total for your wedding budget
  • Tipping – Tips are always welcomed even if they’re not expected. Your videographer puts in a lot of time and effort into capturing the beauty of the day, so any gesture of your appreciation will be welcomed.

What Impacts Their Prices

As we mentioned earlier, there are a variety of things that can affect a videographer’s prices. Some of the most common include:

  • Time – This is going to be the one that impacts pricing most. Most packages include the time that they will spend filming. The longer they film, the higher the price
  • Staffing – If you choose a well-established videographer, they may bring along an assistant or second shooter. This helps ensure that they’re able to capture every moment without missing a beat. The more staff present, the higher the pricing may be
  • Wedding season – If your wedding is taking place in peak wedding season–which is typically May to October–prices may be higher because of the demand

Why Hiring A Wedding Photographer Is Worth It

Having both a wedding photographer and videographer may seem like a bit too much, but we promise it’s worth it. Photos do an incredible job of capturing memorable moments, but they can’t capture everything. Videographers capture the emotions of your guests while you exchange handwritten vows, the hilarious speeches that your wedding party makes, and the epic dance battle that breaks out at the end of the night. That’s something you just can’t put a price on.
