Wedding books are so much more than just a place to write your vows or have your guests sign their names. Having archival-quality wedding books will make the memories of your wedding day last forever. Yet, these are often an underappreciated aspect of planning your wedding.

After the reception ends and your guests head home, your vow and wedding guest books are often one of the only purchases you’ll keep. Choosing an option that will help preserve your memories is important—but shouldn’t be stressful. Our favorite option for both of these special books comes from our friends at The Art of Etiquette.

Wedding Books Bound to Last

The Art of Etiquette creates guest books built to last. They understand that the written notes from your loved ones will only grow in meaning and value over time. Crafted with attention to detail and exceptional quality, these aren’t just wedding guest books. They’re keepsakes. The archival-quality paper proves it.

They’re created to look beautiful on your wedding day and well beyond. Whether you opt to display them on a bookshelf or delicately on your coffee table, the elegant look will fit any design style.

The Art of Etiquette Is Inclusive

This brand is certified as an LGBTQ+ wedding vendor and is intentional about crafting products and services that will help rewrite the narrative of the wedding industry to embrace all identities and gender spectrums.

This goes beyond a certification—they stand behind it. Their language and messaging are carefully crafted to create a welcoming space. Their blank pages are an invitation to be your own storytellers without bias. While there are lines on the page, there aren’t rules.

Unique Guest Books

Each page in The Art of Etiquette’s Wedding Guest Book is designed to be an engaging opportunity for guests to share their well-wishes, advice, and thoughts on love. This memento isn’t just a place for guests to write their names. Each page includes prompts to share wisdom, insights into marriage, and more.

Part of the thoughtful design of these guest books keeps signatures from being awkwardly lumped together. Each guest can still sign near each other—but with The Art of Etiquette, they’re able to include their own sentiments, thoughtful notes, and even photos for you.

You Should Utilize A Vow Book—Trust Us

Hear us out when we say that your photographer and Future You will thank you for not standing at the altar exchanging your vows while holding a crumpled piece of paper or—worse—your cell phone. Utilizing a beautiful and photo-worthy vow book will upgrade your photos and will also make a unique wedding keepsake for you to keep! This way you avoid accidentally erasing your vows on your phone (it happens) and you don’t have to worry about them ending up lost in a drawer somewhere safe in your home.

The Art of Etiquette takes vow books one step further than most vow book companies and includes an anniversary note for each partner to capture their feelings leading up to the day. Then, you can use the included wax seal to keep it secure until your first anniversary. At that time, you can easily open the note and share how you were both feeling on your wedding day. Add in a bottle of champagne, you’ve got the makings of a meaningful first-year anniversary.

Junebug Tip:

The Art of Etiquette also makes Anniversary Books for you to honor your past, present, and future together. You can learn more about them here.

Romantic And Boho Hoosier Pass Elopement

December 1, 2021 | kailey

You can’t control what life throws your way, but you can control how you deal with it. And for Torey and Tom wedding planning during the pandemic and personal life-altering changes weren’t going to stand in their way. After trimming their guest list, changing venues, and hiring trusted wedding vendors, their Hoosier Pass elopement became a reality.

With the help of wedding planner Silver Thistle Events this couple was able to create a fully personalized elopement filled with love, laughter, and views that made the 3am hike well worth it. After their sunrise ceremony—officiated by their photographer—the couple headed back to their reception at Collective Retreats in Vail for their first dance, cake cutting, and readings of loved-ones letters

Elopements don’t have to be boring. And if you don’t believe us, we’ll let these images by photographer Map and Compass Photography do all the talking.

Photographers Thoughts On This Hoosier Pass Elopement

Tom and Torey decided to elope in July after COVID-19 hit. Tom reached out to me explaining that he would be moving for flight training in the Air Force and they wanted to have an epic summer elopement before the transition. With the help of Silver Thistle Events, we immediately started planning a beautiful wedding that was true to them. We woke up around 3 AM to hike Hoosier Pass, picking the perfect spot out for their ceremony. After the elopement ceremony, we went to Lake Dillon for a beautiful brunch picnic. Every detail was thoughtfully planned, including the handwritten name tags. The day ended with Torey and Tom’s first dance, cutting their cake, and most importantly, reading letters from friends and family that couldn’t be there.

An Unforgettable Sunset Ceremony Moment

The day was full of so many different experiences that make it tough to choose a favorite part. But, for me it might be the hike up the mountain on the way to say our vows. When we started the hike it was still dark out, and watching the sky change colors over the mountain is something I’ll never forget. There’s something almost sacred about the early morning when no one else is awake. There was no one else on the trail that morning and it felt like we were alone in the world. I remember looking at Tom and thinking how much I loved him in that moment, and it just felt like everything in my life had led to this really beautiful snapshot in time. I felt overwhelmingly happy, grateful, and excited for the rest of my life with him to begin.

Sometimes Less Is More

When it came to planning, we did something pretty out of character because we didn’t do much of anything. Before getting married, I had been a bridesmaid six times. While my friends all loved their engagements, I also pretty vividly remember the stress they were under from all of the little details that go into planning a wedding on such a large scale. Tom I had a few things we cared about, like making sure the day felt like an adventure and writing out our own vows. Other than that we pretty much just made a Pinterest board of our style inspiration and handed it over to our wedding planner. I had no idea what my bridal bouquet looked like until I showed up at 5 am on the side of the mountain and no idea what our cake looked like until we got down to our tent after dinner—somehow the surprises made it so much sweeter.

The Importance Of Hand-Writing Vows

We wrote our own vows to each other, which was one of the most important things to us. I’ve always really loved weddings where the couple writes their own vows, but always worried about being so vulnerable in front of an audience of people. Luckily  it was just the two of us so we were able to be as open and honest as we wanted. I’ll cherish that moment forever. We still have our vow books and plan to write in the empty pages every anniversary.

Working With Map and Compass Photography

Map and Compass Photography went so above and beyond my idea of a typical wedding photographer. She scouted out the spot on the mountain where we said our vows and hiked up there with us at 5 am and incredibly officiated our ceremony for us as well. She read us something that her husband had written when he officiated a wedding for a friend. It was beautiful, personal, and made us feel surrounded by love in every possible way.

How To Include Loved-Ones In Your Elopement

One thing that I’m really happy we decided to include in our day were the letters from our friends and family. A couple weeks before the wedding, we asked a few people to write something for us to read the day of. It was a really beautiful moment that helped us feel close to the people we love so much, and it felt like they were really a big part of our day even though they weren’t physically there. Plus, we now have really special keepsakes to look back on and remember all of those feelings we felt that day.

Stunning and Uniquely Tropical Vancouver Wedding

November 30, 2021 | kailey

Picture a historic neoclassical wedding venue with elegant crown moulding, bronze chandeliers, original vault doors, a gorgeous stained glass skylight, and intricate mosaic floors. Then add creative floral installations of abundant bright blooms, lush greenery, and the right pop of tropical appeal. These two seemingly contrasting styles together created a strikingly beautiful and uniquely tropical Vancouver wedding.

Louisa and Blair, with the help of event planner Jessica Minnie transformed The Permanent with spectacular floral arrangements by Celsia. The couple exchanged their vows under a breathtaking chuppah and vertical floral garlands hanging from a jaw-dropping skylight. The dreamy ceremony space was then converted into a classy and cozy reception lounge with a standout cocktail bar

We love how Sara Rogers captured the vibrant decor, the romantic architecture, and the celebration of Louisa and Blair’s love. If you’re looking for ways to incorporate tropical elements into your wedding or how to creatively flip the same ceremony space to reception, don’t miss this uniquely tropical Vancouver wedding.

The Wedding:

Vancouver, BC

Heartwarming Moment Of The Day

I think the most memorable part of the day was having the great big doors open up for me, taking in the space, seeing the gorgeous florals hanging in mid-air, and nearly two hundred faces smiling at me. I’m so grateful my dad was there for me to hold on to at that moment. That amount of joyful loving energy almost knocked me off my feet.

Wedding Planning Advice From The Bride

My advice to couples is to enjoy the process because the planning should be a pleasure. Work with people you like and have fun—this is a celebration after all! The year of planning for me was done over many lunches, many glasses of wine, and delicious coffees. It was a beautiful bonding experience for my Mom and I.

A Fun Tropical Vancouver Wedding

I’m pretty proud of my wedding speech. I woke up super early that day and it just flowed right from my heart to paper! But I think I’m most proud of the fact that our closest friends stayed and partied until the lights came on—it’s the sign of a great party. Showing the people I love a good time that day meant so much to me.
