Striking Wintery Mount Rainier Micro Wedding

April 20, 2022 | riley

Lukas and Mallori already had their hearts set on their dream wedding location years before getting engaged, and when it came time, they tied the knot exactly where they envisioned they would years prior. From the snow-covered landscapes and enchanting pine forest backdrop to the picture-perfect Longmire Bridge ceremony and cozy cabin reception, this Mount Rainier micro wedding is magical all on its own.

The couple started the day with a first look, and it was the sweetest way to kick off such a romantic day. The bride had a standout moment in her burgundy wedding dress while the stylish groom donned a light gray suit with a matching deep red tie. Although it was chilly, they wandered around the mountain for a private toast and epic portraits after saying, “I do.”.

Even with the constraints of the pandemic, they managed to pull off an unforgettable and safe weekend-long affair with their closest family and friends. And Junebug member Maggie Grace Photography captured every moment of it. Scroll through for gorgeous winter wedding photos guaranteed to make you swoon!

What Led Them To Have A Mount Rainier Micro Wedding

We chose our venue years before we were engaged. We were on a snowshoeing hike when we came across the bridge. At that moment, I turned to Lukas and told him this was where we would get married.

Having All Their Guests Tested So They Could Enjoy Their Wedding Weekend Without Worry

We are most proud that we had a very intimate wedding weekend in the middle of the pandemic and that we kept everyone safe and healthy. Our wedding was before vaccines, so we had everyone get tested. Because of this, we were able to provide a weekend full of laughter, hugs, and connection for the first time in what felt like an eternity.

Ways They Personalized Their Ceremony

We personalized our ceremony by walking down the aisle together. We also asked Lukas’s dad to be our officiant and wrote our own vows and spoke them to one another. And lastly, our ceremony was only about ten minutes in total.

A Surprise Stop By A Park Ranger Before The Ceremony

Our one wedding day surprise was when we got stopped by a park ranger in the middle of our ceremony. He asked for our permit, which we had, but told us the permit shouldn’t have been approved because we were technically on a public roadway. He let us continue with our ceremony, but it was a good thing that our ceremony and vows only lasted ten minutes.

Junebug Member Maggie Grace Photography Instantly Put Them At Ease

Our photographer Maggie Grace was amazing. We had connected via Instagram years ago and became internet besties. On the first night of our wedding weekend, when our friends and family were meeting for the first time, Maggie was playing games and hanging out with all of us. Everyone thought that Maggie had been a lifelong friend they’d just not met yet, but it was actually our first time meeting Maggie too. That’s who Maggie is–the warmest best-friend-energy and your biggest hype woman. Working with her was natural and easy. She gave us direction while also letting us act how we naturally act. It resulted in natural, beautiful, authentic images that we will adore forever.

Wedding Planning Advice From The Newlyweds: Focus On What’s Important To The Two Of You

Don’t worry about convention and tradition when planning your wedding. Create an environment and an atmosphere that you are going to enjoy. Worry more about what it feels like rather than what it looks like. We are so proud of ourselves for sticking to our vision. For us, it was a weekend-long experience with our friends and family in the mountains, everything else didn’t matter that much.  Our guests have all said what a unique and awesome experience it was.

Relaxed and Outdoor Minimalist Micro Wedding

April 18, 2022 | justine

Wedding planning will inevitably have its hurdles. But after changing their wedding plans and venue three times, Drew and Kash’s celebration is proof that nothing will get in the way of true love. This couple decided to keep things low-key and stress-free, choosing a nearby park to exchange their vows under the trees. Ending their day with a  festive reception surrounded by their closest loved ones

A round arch adorned with dried flowers and pampas, a white aisle runner, white hercules chairs, white cocktail tables, and white bar stools—outdoor wedding specialists With Love – Brisbane Wedding Decorators used statement pieces to transform the New Farm Park into a romantic setting for their big day.

If an intimate celebration where your guests can come as they are and you can get quality face time with each one sounds like a dream come true, then this wedding is for you. Scroll down to see all the beautiful photos captured by Jill Kerswill and edited by Liz Wilson Photography.

Why These Chose To Have An Outdoor Minimalist Micro Wedding At New Farm Park

After changing our venue three times due to the pandemic, we ended up choosing New Farm Park because it was central, spaces in the park could be reserved and booked, and it was a three minute walk along the river to our reception venue. New Farm Park underneath the massive trees by the river made for a pretty special location.

They Had A Relaxed Wedding Timeline

On the day we didn’t want to have to worry about the timing of anything. We did pre-ceremony drinks, ceremony, one speech, and then the cake. So many of our guests remarked on what a great day it was and how they got to spend time with each other and meet others in a relaxed, fun, and vibrant setting. Smash out the formal parts early then you can relax for the rest.

Their Celebrant Created A Ceremony That Was Unique To Them

Our celebrant Aemee was amazing and super thorough. We filled out questionnaires separately and together, and then she provided drafts of her run sheet which we edited together. The ceremony was so intimate yet fun and shareable—we were just full of smiles and laughter, and had the best time.

Photographer Jill Kerswill Got Their Chill Vibe

Our photographer Jill Kerswill was great—she totally got into the relaxed feel of the day and our guests loved her.

Dazzling and Unique Destination Cenote Wedding

April 17, 2022 | riley

When two spiritual and artistic souls from the Big Apple travel all the way to the jungles of Mexico to get married, you know it’s going to be a unique celebration. From the ancient native traditions to incorporating disco balls in the decor, James and Erin’s eccentric style beautifully contrasted with the Tulum wilderness. With Junebug members Mango Weddings & Events by their side, their destination cenote wedding was nothing short of spectacular.

Instead of having a traditional beach wedding that the Riviera Maya is known for, the couple chose to have an intimate early morning cenote ceremony surrounded by only a few of their loved ones. With a Shaman performing the sacred rituals that included all the elements of nature, their jungle “I do’s” were both mysterious and enchanting.

Featuring a lush jungle setting and bold florals by KL Design Events and lots of candles, lanterns, and disco balls for some added sparkle and fun, their wedding reception at WILD was just as magical. And as if the day’s festivities weren’t enough, the celebration continued all night with an epic after-party of dancing and late-night snacks of churros and street corn.

From the special ceremony in the heart of the jungle to their otherworldly beachfront reception, these beautiful photos captured by Andre Gouin will surely have you dreaming of an exotic destination wedding.

The Couple:

Erin and James

The Wedding:

WILD, Tulum, Mexico

Why A Destination Cenote Wedding

James and I wanted our guests to have a unique and memorable experience in Tulum. We are not traditional in any way and wanted our wedding to really embody who we were as a couple.  That was definitely captured in our wedding with our small spiritual ceremony and an immersive food and drink experience at our reception at WILD. We danced, played the congos, smoked cigars, and ate churros and esquites into the morning. We were very close to eloping, but our families and friends mean the world to us. So we opted for an intimate destination wedding instead.

A Same-Day Edit Video For Guests Who Were Unable To Attend The Ceremony

We had to have a videographer who could do a same-day edit video, and Carlos Gallardo’s style matched what we were looking for. The video turned out amazing and was shared at our reception for all of our guests to experience that magical morning.

Why A Local Planner Is Crucial When Planning A Destination Wedding

If you are planning to do a destination wedding in another country, make sure to hire a planner who is knowledgeable about the area and really can hone in on your vision. Mango Weddings & Events curated the most perfect day for us. It encompassed everything that we wanted and more. Also, if you can travel to meet your planner prior to your wedding, definitely go see your venue and taste the food and drinks. Also, while you are there, meet with your photographer and schedule your engagement shoot so that you are comfortable shooting with them on your big day.

Incorporating Their Crystal Business With Agate Wedding Favors

James and I own a crystal and metaphysical shop, Crystals in the Raw. We wanted to incorporate crystals in some way. We decided to use agate slices as name cards. Our guests loved them and took them home as a gift from us.
