Italy had always been high on the couple’s travel list, so when it came time to choose a wedding destination, the decision felt effortless. “We figured, why not seal our love there?” Kristina said. With help from her cousin Lourdes of LMP in Miami and Italian planner Elena Pensini, they spent two years refining every detail—from choosing the venue to coordinating their honeymoon along Italy’s coastline.

The venue itself, Villa del Balbianello, carried cinematic charm (appearing in James Bond and Star Wars movies). “We loved that it offered different atmospheres within one location,” the couple explained. “The ceremony overlooked the water, cocktails were surrounded by sculptures and trees, and our dinner was held on the terrace overlooking everything.”

Creating a Meaningful and Memorable Experience for Every Guest

With a guest list under 40, the couple was able to focus on connection and experience. Guests were welcomed to Lake Como with a relaxed rehearsal dinner at a nearby hotel featuring Italian food and wine, setting the perfect tone for the weekend ahead. “We wanted to make it fun and get the jitters out the night before,” Kristina said.

On the wedding day, their ceremony was beautifully simple yet emotional. The bride walked down the aisle to the sound of violin and cello, with both her parents by her side, a detail mirrored by Kasil. The lakeside views, framed by soft white blooms, felt like the ultimate backdrop to their vows.

Immediately after, the couple slipped away for a few minutes alone. Their boat ride across the lake, captured by drone, became one of their favorite memories. “It was such a special moment to enjoy together before the rest of the night began,” Kristina shared.

Kristina’s gown combined modern romance and timeless detail. Inspired by Sarah Jessica Parker’s ballgown aesthetic, her dress featured delicate white tulle flowers that reflected the Italian setting. She paired it with mesh Jimmy Choo heels for a soft, feminine touch. Kasil opted for a clean, black-tie look with custom cufflinks, a simple but meaningful detail.

To complement the serene palette, bridesmaids wore pastel yellow dresses in two styles that perfectly contrasted the whites and greenery of the venue. Kristina’s “something blue” came in the form of a floral midi dress paired with Aquazzura heels for the rehearsal dinner.

As the sun dipped below the mountains, guests gathered under the glow of candlelight and soft string music for dinner. The couple prioritized good food, good wine, and beautiful atmosphere, and the setting did the rest. “We really wanted to create a memory more than anything,” they shared.

When a professional wedding planner becomes the bride, expectations are high. But, for Kennedy and Ethan, that just meant creating something truly their own. After seven years together, the couple brought their dream day to life at the Buffalo History Museum, blending soft, garden-party romance with the architectural grandeur of one of the city’s most iconic venues.

Their love story began in 2017 on a double date—with other people. “Clearly, those relationships didn’t work out,” Kennedy said.. A year later, fate brought them back together, and despite living 59 miles apart and sharing one half-working car, they made it work. “After our first date, I told my best friend, ‘I’m going to marry him,’” she recalled. Seven years later, she was right.

Budgeting, however, was a different story. “I knew exactly what things cost, but convincing Ethan was another thing entirely. It was a lot of back-and-forth and learning that this wasn’t someone else’s wedding I was planning with their credit card, it was ours.” Their top priorities were florals and photography, knowing that the blooms defined their aesthetic and the photos would be their most lasting keepsake.

Writing Their Own Vows and Honoring Family Traditions

The couple exchanged vows in the museum’s outdoor green space, framed by towering columns and lush, organic florals. “We both wrote our own vows and practiced them on our cats for weeks,” Kennedy shared. Her godfather officiated, while a groomsman read a traditional Catholic passage to honor Ethan’s faith.

Their emotional first look set the tone for the day. “Ethan was a mess. Seeing each other before the ceremony was such a relief, it grounded us.” After the ceremony, guests joined cocktail hour on the marble portico overlooking the lake, one of the Buffalo History Museum’s most picturesque features.
