Krista and Jack’s love story began far from home, in Park City, Utah, where a pandemic twist brought them together sooner and closer than either expected. Their connection unfolded easily, grounded in shared humor and a mutual love for the Cape. So when it came time to celebrate their marriage, their vision naturally aligned with the landscape that held so much meaning for them: a classic Cape Cod wedding. With Nauset Beach and the Atlantic as their backdrop, they designed a day that highlighted natural beauty, warm hospitality, and effortless style.

Choosing Professionals Who Understood Their Vision
The couple interviewed every vendor themselves, choosing people who understood their vision and felt easy to connect with. They wanted a team that brought good energy and paid attention to the details.
Choosing their photographers was the easiest decision. “Junebug vendor CityLux Studios photographed my sister’s wedding two years earlier, and we already trusted them completely.” That confidence carried through on the wedding day, reflected in the natural portraits, candid moments, and the overall feeling of ease in how everything was documented.

Setting the Tone With Thoughtful Pre-Wedding Events
Their classic Cape Cod wedding wasn’t just one day. It was a full weekend celebration. Thursday began with an intimate family rehearsal dinner, followed by cocktails and dessert at Jack’s parents’ home in Chatham. The next night, everyone gathered at Stage Harbor Yacht Club for a welcome party. These gatherings set the tone for a weekend that felt warm, familiar, and rooted in the places they love.
A Wedding Vision That Let the Cape Shine
It’s clear the landscape and area’s essence played a huge role in shaping the day. Guests were seated facing a wide view of the ocean, with gentle coastal grasses surrounding the ceremony spot. The scene didn’t need much embellishment, just soft floral arrangements and clean, white chairs to keep the focus on the setting.
“We wanted a vibe that felt true to us and true to the Cape,” the couple shared. They leaned into botanicals, greenery, and simple textures that blended naturally into the environment.
Because they hosted the wedding on a family friend’s property, they were able to design every part of the layout themselves—from the ceremony facing the ocean to the cocktail hour transitions and the tented reception. “It gave us the chance to design every detail from scratch and make the whole layout feel intentional and personal,” they said.

A Meaningful Ceremony With an Unforgettable Backdrop
One of the most memorable parts of the ceremony was the officiant, Krista’s brother-in-law, whose mix of heartfelt words and gentle humor set a warm tone. His approach made the moment feel genuine and brought a sense of ease to the entire gathering. The coastal backdrop added to the experience, creating a simple but striking scene for their vows.

Elegant Wedding Fashion That Fit the Coastal Setting
Krista’s dress—clean, fitted, and elegant—photographed beautifully in every light, from the soft morning window shots to the breezier coastal portraits. Her bouquet was understated, mostly whites and greens, matching the day’s natural palette. Skincare, hair, and makeup followed the same idea: fresh, minimal, and effortless.
Jack and the groomsmen wore classic black tuxedos, which stood out sharply against the muted tones of the dunes. The black-tie optional dress code elevated the overall look without making it feel stuffy.

A Coastal-Inspired Reception Filled With Movement and Energy
Their planning began with a shared mood board, which helped them narrow down what mattered: comfort, flow, and a warm atmosphere.. The linens became the anchor for the entire look. Those soft, patterned fabrics show up beautifully in the photos, especially in the reception flat lays featuring the menus and woven chargers. Once that decision was made, the rest of the design came together easily.
The tented reception felt airy and inviting, with hanging basket lights, greenery-filled centerpieces, and long wooden tables set with neutral, coastal-inspired textures. It matched the Cape without feeling themed. The tables were set with botanicals and candles that reflected the original vision.
When the dancing began, the entire space transformed. People were laughing, moving, and fully enjoying the moment. It was the exact kind of carefree, joyful energy Krista and Jack had envisioned.

Advice for Couples Planning Their Own Classic Cape Cod Wedding
Krista and Jack want couples to know that it’s normal for planning to feel overwhelming at times. “There are stressful moments, and that’s okay. But seeing everything come to life makes it all worth it.”
Their biggest takeaway: When the day finally arrives, let go, stay present, and enjoy every second.
