Stunning East Texas Wedding at The Folmar in Sage Green

Beth and Jake’s wedding at The Folmar, a charming southern estate tucked away on an East Texas back road, was inspired by the bucolic French countryside. Featuring an elegant and sophisticated color palette of slate, French blues, dove grey, and tons of neutrals and greenery and classically rustic details full of intention, like bread and wine, rosemary and lavender and natural plenty of elements such as exposed wood and linen. The bride wore a Rue De Seine wedding dress with panels of French lace and an open back with a simple chignon, a look that flowed beautifully with the European theme. Floral designer Primrose Path created an incredibly chic and refined composition that tied the stunning outdoor ceremony to the reception and created a cohesive theme, from the hanging white florals, to garlands of sage and accents of purple thistle. Leeann Funk Photography captured this couple enjoying their beautiful venue in fields of bright yellow flowers and in front of the statement-making blue French doors that set theme.

The Couple:

Beth and Jake

The Wedding:

The Folmar, Tyler, Texas

I wore a dress designed by the French brand Rue De Seine. There were panels of french lace sewn in with handmade silk, it was simple yet classic, and it flowed so beautifully. The dress paired well with the wedding vibes and venue. I wore my great grandmothers earrings for my sentimental accessory. The wedding party wore floor length dress from Show me Your Mumu in Silver Sage. The rest of the wedding party wore short navy dresses to compliment the wedding aesthetic. I think I had the most beautiful wedding party out there, such babes!

We chose elements that reflected our style – really natural, simple, but classic. We also love wine, so we tried to include a French Rustic element. Our hope was that our wedding facilitated community, so we tried to include ways for fellowship to flourish, like having a fire pit and family style meal for meaningful conversations. Also, lots of dancing.

For us, walking down the aisle was so memorable. We didn’t do a first look, which made this moment so intense, but so sweet, everything was so dreamy and perfect in that moment, we couldn’t stop smiling. Jake had some tears… but if you ask him, he says “it was allergies.” The weather that day turned out to be absolutely perfect, the music, the officiant’s message, and our friends praying over us…we felt so loved by every detail in our ceremony.

Jake and I went to grad school together, and our beloved professor, Dr. Jones, officiated the ceremony. This was one of our favorite elements of the entire wedding. Dr. Jones has taught us so many valuable truths, so to have him officiate the wedding and speak about a covenantal love over us and for our guests was so very meaningful.

Think bread, wine, rosemary, lavender, lots of natural elements like wood, linen whites, laid back, European, rustic, French countryside for our wedding inspiration. We had slate colors, French blues, dove grey, lots of neutrals, and lots of greenery. It was so important to us that the wedding was natural, simple and reflective of our interests.

We collected and stained all the wine crates that our wedding wine came in, we filled them with vines from our neighbors garden, and this DIY served as our table centerpieces. It was so simple, but made the tables look so elegant. We also had the entire head table lined with almost 100 vintage brass candlesticks that we thrifted. It was so dreamy.

Processional: ‘Bloom’ by The Paper Kites and ‘Sort Of’ by Ingrid Michaelson
Recessional:  ‘Summertime Romance’ by Johnnyswim
First Dance: ‘Paris in June’ by Johnnyswim
We chose Johnnyswim as our first dance song because our first date was to a Johnnyswim show. This band’s music is so significant to us.

Vibrant Australian Cottage Wedding at Tarndwarncoort

This Australian wedding’s bright blooms and contagious smiles are a lovely reminder that spring is now in full swing! Anna and Tim have always loved native Australian flowers like proteas, so they chose to incorporate colorful proteas among other native florals in their vibrant countryside wedding at the uniquely charming Tarndwarncoort. We love all of the handmade details that the couple’s family and friends contributed to their wedding, and can’t get enough of Madeline Kate Photography‘s gorgeous documentation of their day!

The Couple:

Anna & Tim

The Wedding:

Tarndwarncoort, Victoriaes, Australia

The most important things for us were to have our family and bridal party all staying together and for a relaxed venue where we wouldn’t be made to leave right on midnight. We always came back to these two things to ensure our wedding was fun and relaxed. The property, Tarndwarncoort, allowed our immediate families to stay in the big house and the bridal party had a cottage a short walk away. Tom, the owner, was fantastic. We had the freedom to do everything the way we wanted and he joined us for speeches and a beer later in the night.

Our caterer of cheeseboards, canapes and salads – our friend Annie Hazel – the menu she put together for us was so delicious. We gave her complete freedom to do as she chose and the food is up there with the best memories of the whole weekend.

Tom Dennis, who runs Tarndwarncoort – he was absolutely incredible. With his mum Wendy and dad David they went above and beyond to make the garden and house perfect for us. They were digging trenches to bury cables, making people coffee, moving things with the tractor, helping everyone set up, stringing up lights, making sure the bins were emptied, beautifying the portable toilets. We didn’t fully anticipate the amount of work that went into setting up and are so grateful we had a tribe of family, friends and the wonderful people at Tarndwarncoort to make everything happen on time.

Seeing each other for the first time was very memorable, Tim hadn’t seen my dress and the plan was to do family photos before the ceremony. However we ran out of time and the guests started to arrive early, so the first time we saw each other was down the aisle, unplanned but a pretty special, emotional moment in the end.

I wanted a short dress so I could dance freely and it didn’t get dirty. It was comfortable, that was really important! I wanted to keep it all simple, not do anything too different from what I would normally wear, I still wanted to look and feel like me on the day. The girls (bridesmaids) could wear whatever they wanted, I didn’t have a colour scheme or style in mind, as long as they were comfortable. Only having two and the fact that we’re sisters was easy! Their dresses were from Rodeo Show and were a cream lace, it worked well with my dress.

I love native flowers and definitely wanted some kind of waratah/protea with bluegum theme. I gave my amazing friend/florist Linzi some photos and then total freedom. I knew I would wear a pink/magenta lipstick so we chose pinks, silver grey and yellow billy buttons.

Our advice: Stick to what you think is really important and always come back to these things. It’s easy to get caught up in all the smaller details, but on the day these won’t matter as long as your overall vision is what you really want.

Our photographer Maddie was wonderful, we didn’t even notice her most of the time, which was nice not to feel like we had a camera in our face the whole day. We didn’t want to stay away from the guests for too long, so Maddie took us to a paddock just next to the homestead, it was so nice just for us two to be together, we had a dance – Maddie had an awesome selection of music to help us relax and have fun! That’s definitely a favourite moment, dancing in the field!

Nashville Destination Wedding at Riverwood Mansion

January 24, 2017 | gabby

Chicago natives Nicole and Jay wanted to pick a destination wedding location that channeled their favorite cozy Southern vibes, so as soon as they laid eyes on Nashville’s Riverwood Mansion, they knew it was perfect! The couple’s wedding day included an emotional first look, an enchanting garden ceremony with a surprise for the groom, and a cool dinner party-inspired reception. We love how Nicole and Jay decked out their venue with tons of candles, a gorgeous DIY escort card display, and a neutral color palette with pops of coral! Photography Anthology captured every moment of Nicole and Jay’s wedding beautifully, including their super colorful couple portraits on the streets of Nashville.

The Couple:

Nicole and Jay

The Wedding:

Riverwood Mansion, Nashville, Tennessee

nashville-destination-wedding-at-riverwood-mansion-1

We really wanted our day to be completely authentic to who we were. We’re not very traditional and decided to leave a lot of wedding traditions/expectations out because it didn’t feel like us. At the end of the day we wanted a party more than a wedding and that’s exactly what we got. We wouldn’t have changed a thing!

nashville-destination-wedding-at-riverwood-mansion-3

nashville-destination-wedding-at-riverwood-mansion-18

For my hair and makeup, I knew I wanted a more bohemian, and soft look. Hannah did an amazing job on my makeup going natural but still highlighting my best features. She nailed my braided crown. It was everything I was looking for and the soft wavy pieces around my face were perfect. Jay had roses delivered to the room while I was in hair and makeup and we ended up using the baby’s breath from that bouquet to top off the ethereal vibe of the braid.

nashville-destination-wedding-at-riverwood-mansion-19

nashville-destination-wedding-at-riverwood-mansion-5

Our first look was really special. I hadn’t seen Jay since earlier that morning and throughout the day I couldn’t stop wondering what he was doing, how he was feeling, etc. I started to get a bundle of anxious excitement in my stomach as my hair and makeup was finishing and all I wanted to do was see him. As soon as I came around the corner and saw him standing at the end of the street, all my anxious energy melted and I was so excited to finally see him. When he turned around, the look on his face is something I’ll remember forever. He made me feel like the prettiest woman in the world.

We live in Chicago but wanted to do a destination that people could fly or drive to. Nashville is such an amazing town and when we found Riverwood Mansion, we knew it was the perfect backdrop to our day.

nashville-destination-wedding-at-riverwood-mansion-23

Music is very important to us so when we were talking about ceremony musicians, I wanted only guitar but he wanted violin. He thought we ended up booking just guitar so I surprised him with the violinist. He also didn’t know what songs would be played during the ceremony. I picked mostly his favorites with the biggest surprise being my processional. I told him the whole time it was going to be Girl from the North Country by Bob Dylan but instead it was his favorite song, Yellow by Coldplay.

nashville-destination-wedding-at-riverwood-mansion-29

Jay and I are not very religious so we knew our officiant would need to be less traditional. We found our officiant online and worked with her on the script. Our ceremony lasted about 20 minutes and including us reading our own vows to each other. We didn’t have a ring bearer and our flower girl was our French Bulldog, Winnie. She wore a pink satin dress and may have nearly stolen the show!

nashville-destination-wedding-at-riverwood-mansion-30

The groomsmen wore charcoal grey suits and deep red ties which matched the deep red of the bridesmaid dresses. I asked the girls to wear no jewelry and let them do whatever they wanted with their hair and makeup. I wanted them to feel great about themselves and make their beauty the focal point.

What I loved about my dress is that it wasn’t your typical strapless, sweat heart neckline. That style is beautiful and I did try it on but in the end my dress style felt 110% me. For my shoes I went with a black velvet strappy block heel and absolutely loved it. I loved seeing my shoes in our photos where I’m holding up my dress because it felt like such an unexpected detail that just works.

nashville-destination-wedding-at-riverwood-mansion-17

Plan a wedding that is authentic to you. While certain trends are great, don’t feel like you have to do everything everyone else is doing. A wedding is expensive as it is, don’t stress yourself out adding unnecessary details that no one will remember later. Your friends and family just want to celebrate you and have a fun time!

nashville-destination-wedding-at-riverwood-mansion-20

nashville-destination-wedding-at-riverwood-mansion-25

Since we were getting married in October (our favorite time of year) we wanted the vibe to be cozy with a mix of modern and vintage decor. My biggest request was that I wanted candles everywhere. I love candlelight and I felt like it really drove that cozy vibe home.

nashville-destination-wedding-at-riverwood-mansion-21

I DIY’d our seating chart. I borrowed my aunt’s gorgeous vintage mirror and I bought beautiful calligraphy seating charts through a store on Etsy. I used double-sided tape and attached the seating chart cards to the mirror so it looked like they were floating.

nashville-destination-wedding-at-riverwood-mansion-26

Having a specific color scheme was one of those traditional elements we decided to do without. I have a hard time committing to colors so I just went with whatever color combo of flowers, tablecloths, etc. that I loved together. At times it was hard to visualize all our choices together but it all came together even more beautifully than we could have imagined!

This New Smyrna Beach Wedding is the Epitome of Easygoing Tropical Florida Spirit

August 13, 2016 | gabby

this-new-smyrna-beach-wedding-is-the-epitome-of-easygoing-tropical-florida-spirit-20

Jeannette and Bryan channeled Florida’s low-key tropical vibes in their New Smyrna Beach wedding décor and the results are nothing short of magical! Deep green palm fronds and gray Spanish moss served as the backdrops for the day’s design and were accented with fun pops of color. We love how the couple’s day-of style reflected their family traditions in the sweetest way – Bryan wore a traditional barong made from pineapple silk to honor Jeannette’s Filipino family. From fun DIY projects to killer reception tent style, photographers Marcoz & Miranda perfectly captured every detail of the couples’ day!

The Couple:

Jeannette and Bryan

The Wedding:

Private Residence, New Smyrna Beach, Florida

this-new-smyrna-beach-wedding-is-the-epitome-of-easygoing-tropical-florida-spirit-9

The most important thing was that our wedding was authentic to us as a couple and celebrated not only our relationship, but our families and friends. We wanted to incorporate all of the things we love about each other and in life, and we wanted a damn good dance party.

this-new-smyrna-beach-wedding-is-the-epitome-of-easygoing-tropical-florida-spirit-12

I loved my dress, which included an intricately beaded sheath dress and a very sheer tulle overlay skirt. It was formal for the ceremony and perfectly converted into a dress I could tear up the dance floor with.

this-new-smyrna-beach-wedding-is-the-epitome-of-easygoing-tropical-florida-spirit-27

We knew we wanted the wedding on a holiday weekend because many of our guests were from out of town, so we wanted them to be able to really have the time to relax and celebrate. New Smyrna Beach is this small, cute beach town on the Atlantic coast of Florida and so people showed up early, swam, tanned, drank and relaxed in the sun, which was the perfect lead up to our party.

The wedding arch was hand crafted by my father from trees that he cut down himself. He hand cut the wood planks, dried and sanded them. And we worked together to build the arch. It was such a beautiful personal touch that now is a permanent reminder of a wonderful day.

Processional: Explosions in the Sky – Your Hand In Mine
First Dance: Crosby Stills and Nash – Our House

We knew that we wanted someone who knew us to marry us, so we enlisted our friend Walter to perform the ceremony. He added personal anecdotes and touches that reflected us as a couple. We gave Walter some guidance on how we thought the ceremony should flow, but ultimately gave him control over it so that it was a surprise to us.

this-new-smyrna-beach-wedding-is-the-epitome-of-easygoing-tropical-florida-spirit-16

One of the highlights of ceremony was the reading selected by Jeannette‘s younger sister Jessa. It was so beautiful and had everyone in tears. “Love is a temporary madness; it erupts like volcanoes and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of eternal passion. That is just being in love, which any fool can do. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Those that truly love have roots that grow towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossoms have fallen from their branches, they find that they are one tree and not two.” – Louis de Bernières

this-new-smyrna-beach-wedding-is-the-epitome-of-easygoing-tropical-florida-spirit-19

We didn’t so much choose a wedding vibe as it chose us. We ended up selecting the things that we loved and it all came together in this wonderful way. Florida is this fascinating mix of relaxed, low speed, but also with an intense amount of wilderness and danger. We wanted to capture that feeling in our wedding by sourcing a lot of the greenery and decoration from woods around our venue.

this-new-smyrna-beach-wedding-is-the-epitome-of-easygoing-tropical-florida-spirit-31

Bryan‘s outfit in particular was very special. We wanted to pay respects to Jeannette‘s mom’s culture so he wore a traditional Filipino barong. It is a dress shirt in the Philippines that is hand embroidered and made out of pineapple silk.

this-new-smyrna-beach-wedding-is-the-epitome-of-easygoing-tropical-florida-spirit-21

Don’t be afraid to go the nontraditional route! We had donuts, our caterer was a food truck and a friend married us. Although we got some push back from our families and some people were skeptical of everything. When we shared our plans, we didn’t try to defend them. We just thanked people for their suggestions and did things our way anyway. Because I did all of the planning, Bryan was really my rock. I would recommend communicating very openly about the process with your partner so that they are able to fully support you as you go through it together!

this-new-smyrna-beach-wedding-is-the-epitome-of-easygoing-tropical-florida-spirit-7

Our wedding colors were ivory, grey and a deep green. The grey and green especially reminded us of the Florida wilderness — grey for the Spanish moss that adorns the trees, deep greens for the palm fronds and grass. They were also great colors for accenting and were easy to add pops of any color with so we would accent them with yellows, blues, oranges, and pinks!

this-new-smyrna-beach-wedding-is-the-epitome-of-easygoing-tropical-florida-spirit-3

The centerpieces for each table were done by my sisters and their boyfriends over many drinks. I ordered all of the flowers in bulk from FiftyFlowers and set them all out for people to work with. There was no set vision for how each piece should look because I wanted them to make something that they thought was beautiful. It was so much fun to see what people put together and in the end everything came out great!

this-new-smyrna-beach-wedding-is-the-epitome-of-easygoing-tropical-florida-spirit-5

Although this is very practical, but we also wanted to stay on budget, so we got creative. We had an amazing food truck to cater, we hired local friends to man the bar, and we enlisted our family members to help DIY. We negotiated and price shopped with vendors on everything so that in the end we could spend money on the things we though were most important.

One of the best moments was after all was said and done and we were laying on the hotel bed catching up. It seemed like the whole day passed in such a blur that we didn’t get a lot of time to check in with each other, so we laid down, held hands, shared stories and laughed.

Scenic British Columbia Wedding at God’s Mountain Estate

May 27, 2016 | editorial team

Photography by Tomasz Wagner http://tomaszwagner.co

Melissa and Rob had previously stayed at God’s Mountain Estate, an upscale B&B that sits on the edge of Skaha Lake, so they knew it would be the perfect place for their British Columbia Wedding. They especially loved the estate’s European-infused style and the acres of plus green land surrounding it. They aimed to keep their wedding as much like a big family dinner in Europe as possible, with their guests seated at long tables during the family-style dinner while enjoying great food and wine. Tomasz Wagner Photo & Films captured every moment from Melissa and Rob’s elegant and timeless affair, and he captured some great portraits of the couple just as the sun began to set.

We stayed at God’s Mountain the summer previous for my other company, The Perfect Hideaway, and fell in love. It had the European feel we adore and it also has 14 bedrooms, which meant that our closest friends and family could stay there with us.

I left the dress until the month before, deciding to have something custom made from Cache Atelier, drawing inspiration from a French designer I loved. I wanted it to be simple, but it also had to be somewhat practical, as I had a 6 month old son! I wanted my overall look to be special, but I also wanted to feel like me, so I kept the makeup light and my hair simple.

Having photographed at least a hundred weddings, I was quite specific about what I wanted (and didn’t want). Luckily, Rob was in agreement with it all. Essentially, we wanted a celebration that felt like a big family dinner in Europe. We wanted a long table, family style dinner with great food and wine. We wanted it to be elegant and timeless, yet fun and casual.

We added a lot of slightly unconventional elements to our ceremony. Rob walked down the aisle with our son, Max, and handed him to my mother to hold. I had my both my father and step-father walk me down the aisle. We had a friend of ours, Mark, officiate the wedding. We also re-wrote most of the ceremony with our personal vows.

We didn’t have a particular wedding color, we just wanted everything neutral to highlight the spectacular setting. For the tabletops, we used tan/grey linens with white pillar candles and silvery green foliage with white loose blooms laid on the tabletops. The venue is so spectacular, we wanted to keep it as simple as possible.

Being a really dry summer, there were lots of fires burning, and an especially large one just south of Penticton. The morning of the wedding was clear, and it wasn’t until just after the ceremony that the winds shifted and the smoke arrived in full force. Luckily everyone got to enjoy the spectacular lake and vineyard views during the ceremony and cocktail hour, because during the dinner, it was completely socked in.

Modern Classic Wedding at the Corcoran Gallery of Art

September 3, 2015 | nicole

Modern-Classic-Wedding-at-the-Corcoran-Gallery-of-Art-Bella-Notte (9 of 25)

Elegance received a modern twist in Ashley and Javier’s Corcoran Gallery of Art wedding. The couple’s unique venue selection was filled with stunning blush, yellow, and soft grey décor designed by Belle Notte. We love that Ashley and Javier even said “I do”on the marble steps of the gallery!

The Couple:

Ashley and Javier

The Wedding:

Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington D.C.

The Inspiration:

Our inspiration for the décor was classic romantic and elegant with a modern twist. The blush, pale yellow and soft grey floral arrangements gave us the perfect romantic atmosphere. The Corcoran Gallery of Art’s grand columns and marble staircase created the elegant feel and the fun décor — tulle table clothes mixed with mirrored table tops—gave the venue a perfect twist of modern.

As for wedding day fashion, I knew my dress would have to be as grand as our venue. The blush tone of my wedding dress and tulle skirt ended up being a big inspiration for the décor.

The Moments:

Our favorite moment from the wedding was the ceremony. Our ceremony was personal, unique and incredibly emotional. Most married couples say the evening was a blur, and while some of it was, we can clearly remember every moment of our ceremony. I hung on every word and every happy tear we shed. Declaring our love and commitment to each other in front of our closest family members and friends meant everything to us. Looking out at our loved ones, seeing them share our joy and excitement was beautiful.

The Couple Recommends:

Our wedding planner, Sara Bauleke of Bella Notte, was a delight to work with. We put our full faith in Sara and she did not disappoint. She helped us realize our grand vision and made our wedding day truly stunning and unique. There was no task that Sara was not willing to take on with a smile and a can-do attitude. Thank you, Sara!

Javier and I immediately fell in love with our photographer Michelle’s sweet, caring personality, and also with her talented and exceptional portfolio. Michelle bent over backwards to make sure we were satisfied customers!

Unfortunately, on the morning of my wedding I wasn’t feeling well, so we did not end up getting all the beauty shots of me and my bridesmaids that I wanted; however, Michelle assured me that she got several great pictures, and offered to retake photos at a later date. Her willingness to accommodate me put my nerves at rest on a very emotional morning. Michelle, you truly are the best!

Rustic Beach Wedding in Gulf Shores

May 16, 2015 | jackie

Rustic-Beach-Wedding-in-Gulf-Shores (23 of 28)

What better way is there to have a relaxed and chic wedding than to choose a beach venue with elegant decor? Following through with this vision, Kevin and Kimberly picked the beautiful Halekai III in Gulf Shores, Alabama for their elegant and effortless ceremony. Burlap, mason jars, sunflowers, and sand surrounded the couple has they exchanged their vows, and the casual setting contrasted perfectly with the bride’s formal beaded gown. Smiles and laughter filled the air as Jules & Cait photography captured the incredible moments.

The Couple:

Kevin and Kimberly

The Wedding:

Halekai III, Gulf Shores, Alabama

The Inspiration:

Our theme was rustic beach chic. We both love the look of driftwood, burlap, mason jars, mercury glass and so we wanted to include that in our decor. It was also important that we incorporate our faith so thats when we came up with the idea to have 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 signs going down the isle and an anchor. The anchor was a big symbol shown throughout our decor. The decor was either homemade or from Home Goods. Our color palette was coral, sea-foam, mustard yellow, and grey. Our wedding Day Fashion was chill but chic.

The Moments:

Kevin: My favorite moment was when Kimberly and I washed each others feet. This was something different than a unity candle or sand. It was my favorite moment because even though we were all dressed up we knelt down on the sand and washed each others feet to show that we loved each other and that we were serving one another and also symbolized and showed our faith.

Kimberly: My favorite moment was when I got to dance with my dad. It was a moment that I have been dreaming of since I was a little girl. My dad surprised me and we danced to a song that he wrote and recorded. While we were dancing my dad was singing along to the recording. I don’t think there was a dry eye to be found. It meant a lot to me and will be something I will always cherish.

The Couple Recommends:

Jules and Cait became apart of the family. They were constantly asking what they could do to help and even took some pictures of the rehearsal & my little bridal/bachelorette shower. Kevin and I felt so comfortable with them and we just enjoyed and laughed the whole time. Namans Catering besides that the food was delicious the caters went above and beyond to make sure the day was perfect. They always were checking up on Kevin and I to see if we needed anything. They also put together a to-go box of everything so that we could eat when we got to our hotel.

Vintage Wisconsin Wedding at Johnson Motor Sales

May 9, 2015 | jackie

Vintage-Wisconsin-Wedding-at-Johnson-Motor-Sales (8 of 24)

Choosing the perfect venue for your big day can sometimes be difficult, but for Stephanie and Mitchell the choice was clear! Johnson Motor Sales, which is the family’s vintage car business, was just the place for Stephanie and Mitchell to exchange their vows. Not only do they love vintage cars, but the couple decided a vintage themed wedding would complete the decor nicely — and it did! Retro car memorabilia, classic black and white attire, and soft cream florals dressed the venue as the couple tied the knot. And, making the day even more amazing, Beau Petersen Photography was there to capture it all!

The Couple:

Stephanie and Mitchell

The Wedding:

Johnson Motor Sales, New Richmond, Wisconsin

The Inspiration:

Our wedding inspiration came from our love of vintage, particularly vintage cars. We had the wedding at my family’s dealership. I’ve grown up with a love for vintage cars and pretty much anything vintage for that matter. It was a passion that was passed down from my parents to me. Mitch shares this same passion and has the gift of being able to know how to fix absolutely anything and everything. Vintage or not. So he has grown to become very involved in our family business and family hobbies such as vintage car racing.

The Moments:

My favorite part of our wedding was being able to have our wedding be an exact reflection of who we are. We were able to customize our entire ceremony, use my father’s vintage yellow greyhound bus to hangout on that day, and get married and celebrate in a space that meant so much to both of us. Mitch says his favorite moment was watching me walk down the aisle. The end result was astonishing and being able to pull it all off with the help of our family and friends was nothing short of a dream come true.

The Couple Recommends:

Our photographer and mc were above exceptional! They work so great together and kept the day on task so that everything went perfect! We also had a singer during our ceremony, Maggie Meath, whose voice is absolutely breath taking and made our wedding ceremony feel like a dream. Our officiant Carolyn was so great to work with and so accommodating. With her we were able to create a wedding ceremony that was personalized perfectly to fit our vision and who we are. Mike Higgins was our videographer and every time we watch our wedding video we get to relive that special day over and over again. Not only was the video amazing but he interviewed family and friends asking for words of advice and best wishes (which we had no idea was happening).

Glamorous Destination Wedding at Olympic Lagoon Resort

April 10, 2015 | jackie

Glamorous-Destination-Wedding-at-Olympic-Lagoon-Resort (19 of 20)

Jess and Alex wanted a wedding that truly represented their personalities. Their breathtaking destination wedding at the Olympic Lagoon Resort in Cyprus was an intimate, special day dedicated all to them. Fun, colorful florals dressed the bouquet, and confetti flew after they tied the knot. Not wanting to spend a moment apart, the couple traveled around the beautiful beach location making sure to document every special moment. Talented photographer Chris Barroccu captured astonishing photos of the couple.

The Couple:

Jess and Alex

The Wedding:

Olympic Lagoon Resort, Nissi Beach, Cyprus

The Inspiration:

I always wished for a colourful day, wanting everything to stand out in the Cypriot sunshine. Wanting our colour theme to match our personalities we thought that this could not be represented by just one colour, but by the whole rainbow with all different shades. In addition, it symbolised that we had found in each other the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. We also had the song over the rainbow as our song walking back down the aisle as man and wife which tied in perfectly. With the 2 bridesmaids matching the two groomsmen in bright orange and yellow, my ivory lacy dress and Alex‘s simple grey suit we feel added a bit of class, in contrast to my amazing rainbow bouquet and buttonhole to match.

The Moments:

Jess: My favourite moment was the walk down the aisle clutching my dads arm to find my man waiting for me with tears and a smile, summed up the happiness of how we were all feeling! My mothers speech where she also read a heartfelt letter written by my absent Grampa and Nan offered our wedding a personal touch.

Alex: It has to be Jess walking down the aisle, in a dress that was the complete opposite style to what I had thought and more beautiful than I could have imagined! On par with the happiness of Jess walking down the aisle, my second surprise was in the form of a song introduced by my new in-laws for our first dance. A song recorded by Jess, a gift just for me, that no-one else will ever have their first dance to.

The Couple Recommends:

We would highly recommend the amazing Chris Barroccu Photographer for all the brilliant shots he got of us. All day he was on the ball, creating a perfect story book of our day, capturing it all. He was so passionate about his work and our wedding that he looked like he was doing pilates just to get the shot perfect, his commitment was second to none!

We would also highly recommend going abroad to tie the not, the wedding planning and the whole day was organised for us, with minimal fuss or effort on our behalf. We could not have asked for a better resort or more attentive staff (especially Jodie and Orla) than at Olympic Lagoon Resort, Nissi Beach.

Elegant Museum Wedding in Pennsylvania

April 4, 2015 | jackie

Elegant-Museum-Wedding-in-Pennsylvania (5 of 35)

Having a passion for Egyptian culture and history, Simara and Christopher decided the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology was the perfect venue to host their whimsical wedding in Pennsylvania. Dark and bright orange, yellow, and deep purple florals dressed the tables and bouquets. The natural wedding arbor built from twigs and florals was the centerpiece of the ceremony, drawing the guests eyes to the couple as they exchanged their vows. Meg Brock Photography expertly captured the precious moments at this gorgeous museum wedding.

The Couple:

Simara and Christopher

The Wedding:

University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

The Inspiration:

Chris and I both have a passion for learning new things so we spent much of our time on “educational” dates (as some friends and family call it) such as museums and tours of historical monuments. When we started considering venues we knew we wanted to get married someplace we would actually spend our time and give our guests a peak inside our world. Being that we both had a passion for Ancient Egyptian culture and history, we knew instantly that the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology was the perfect venue for us.

We also love nature and being outdoors so we wanted our day to feel like a beautiful, colorful fall day. We wanted minimal flowers and really wanted to put an emphasis on what is so beautiful about being outdoors in the fall; the changing leaves. We went with grey dresses and tuxedos for the our bridal party because we thought it would be flattering for everyone and would also really allow the colors to pop in the bouquets and boutonnieres. Abnormally warm weather allowed us to have an outdoor, night ceremony at the end of October. Our day was just absolutely magical and was the perfect representation of the things Chris and I both love.
