This Couple Accented Their Wolf Feather Honey Farm Wedding with Eucalyptus Green and Rose Gold

October 26, 2019 | brooke

Give us all the rustic, eclectic vibes! Reanne and Michael visioned an intimate, rustic-boho inspired Wolf Feather Honey Farm wedding — and they absolutely nailed it. The venue itself is wild, eccentric and has so much character, so the team at Fawn Events kept decor to a minimum and let it compliment the already charming aesthetic.  The ceremony space was simple with fresh eucalyptus lining the aisle leading to the naked teepee altar adorned with a custom carved cow skull and lush blooms designed by Nectar and Bloom. Even the couple’s fur babies sat front and center on vintage rugs, and chimed in when cued during their heart warming vows. We can’t wait for you to see how Shelly Anderson Photography captured Reanne’s stunning look in her The Dress Theory gown and even more from this swoon-worthy Wolf Feather Honey Farm wedding!

The Couple:

Reanne & Michael

The Wedding:

Wolf Feather Honey Farm, Temecula, California

I wanted a dress that was unique, bohemian, and the layered coquille lace on my dress was breathtaking! I kept it simple with my mother’s diamond earrings, which were gifted from my dad, and a dainty rose gold rings from Mejuri.

It’s hard to say what was the most memorable part, as it was all truly wonderful. Michael and I had a point of taking ‘mental pictures’ when something was happening we didn’t want to ever forget. For us that was our first look, a moment of peace after we walked down the aisle, looking down the table at all of our guests laughing and socializing during dinner, and dancing on the hilltop at sunset. We were lucky to work with an phenomenal photographer and videographer that captured all of those moments in photo and film that we will undoubtedly cherish for years to come.

I found Wolf Feather Honey Farm after some major sleuthing on Instagram. I was lucky enough to forge a friendship with Chari and Craig. Upon arrival at the farm, Michael and I knew it was the place. The magic, romance, and adventure that place embodies is out of this world! It really does feel full of love. I wanted our wedding to feel like a laid-back, intimate backyard party, and I think we achieved that! It was just the right amount of bohemian and camping rolled into one.

Our ceremony was officiated by our mutual friend Kyle, who was there when we met at Sasquatch Music Festival. Michael was escorted down the aisle by his siblings, and I by my dad. We have two very cute Australian Shepherds, which also got to walk the aisle with their grandma! We did a ‘warming of the rings’ where our guests were invited to pass around our rings during the ceremony and impart a silent wish for us to carry with us throughout our marriage. We thought that was really special!

I love the moody, romantic feeling that Shelly captured in all our photos. The sunset that evening was to die for, so that really elevated the whole feeling of the evening. Shelly was a breeze to work with, even though we are both a little weird in front of the camera. Our wedding pictures speak for themselves! Shelly really went above and beyond, and I am happy to now call her a friend!

Wedding planning advice from the bride: I put a lot of pressure on myself to make everything perfect. My vision changed a lot from the beginning to the end of wedding planning, and my advice would be to roll with it. At the end of the day your family and friends don’t ever know what wasn’t done – they remember how you made them feel. Be a reflection of that, and remember to pause for a moment to reflect on how the day makes you and your love feel! Also…Hire. A. Planner!

We did family style dining along the 150′ long farmhouse dining table through the grove. Michael really wanted BBQ, and we ended up with a 14 hr smoked brisket that was mouth watering! We had a late night snack of traditional Canadian poutine, which was a huge hit! Reanne’s mom and dad also hand made Nanaimo bars, a Canadian desert, as a nod to her grandparents who were unfortunately unable to attend.

Colorful Midsummer Night’s Dream Inspired Bali Wedding at Villa The Sanctuary

October 25, 2019 | brooke

Kartini and Alex celebrated their love in incredible style with their Midsummer Night’s Dream inspired wedding at Villa the Sanctuary in Bali. The couple wanted their guests to feels like they just stepped into a wonderland that reflected the culture of Bali, incited wonder, and encouraged lots of fun, so they hired Hari Indah to help make their vision come to life! With rentals pulled together from three companies (Bali Event HireBali Sewa Sewa, and Wonderland Rentals) and colorful blooms made into fantastic centerpieces by Gloriosa FlowerHouse — we think they totally pulled off all of the vivacious Bali vibes. From the couple’s sentimental ceremony to the fire breathing dancers at their reception, Terralogical Photography truly captured the essence of this lovely day at Villa the Sanctuary!

The Couple:

Kartini & Alex

The Wedding:

Villa the Sanctuary, Bali, Indonesia

I did not have any particular style inspiration, except that I wanted my dress to be an elegant yet modern, chic representation of the whimsical environment I was creating with the wedding. I didn’t want anything too ornate or fussy. I wanted it to be simple but was looking for that dress that also had some subtle detail that made it unique. As soon as I tried on my dress, I just knew! It was the last dress of a very long day… and it was clear as soon as I slipped it on that it embodied everything I was looking for. I also needed something light considering I knew it was going to be on the warmer side.

We invited one of our best friends to marry us. It was important to us that the person standing at the alter with us, knew us both and to make sure we shared that moment with a person that was significant in our lives. We also had one of our other best friends read a part of poem that I felt perfectly reflected how we our partnership. Lastly, we invited a local Balinese prayer at the start of our wedding, as we wanted to acknowledge and incorporate the local spiritual culture of the place we decided to marry. That was important to us.

Govinda was fantastic… the way he captured the wedding, and to do it in a way where we did not feel separated from our guests, was exactly what we were looking for. We didn’t want to miss a second of our wedding, and he really respected those wishes, and we only took a brief sojourn away. I wanted to capture the wedding in a raw, unfiltered way, and did not want any “classic” wedding photos, and he was able to do that more beautifully that I could have ever imagined.

Wedding planning advice from the bride: Finding Elvira at Hari Indah was the best decision I made! If you do decide to find someone you trust to help you plan your wedding, make sure you take the time to properly interview them, and ensure they not only understand your vision and aesthetic but that you clearly determine you can work together. It is vital that they truly understand what details matter to you and even more importantly, the best way to communicate with you. If you can communicate well with your planner, then it should be smooth sailing from there. If you are planning a destination wedding, this is even more key! Don’t do it alone if you don’t have to, there is nothing like having an expert at your side, and have someone that represents you, not the venue, so you can ensure you get what you really want.

Once I knew I was going to get married in Bali, I immediately imagined a midsummer’s night dream blended with the culture of Indonesia. I wanted my guests to feel like they stepped into Alice in Wonderland, but a wonderland that reflected the culture of Bali that incited wonder, excitement and most importantly fun. I wanted something incredible luxe, that was overflowing with flowers but also to combine that with a warm and inviting feeling that made my guests feel comfortable and relaxed. I didn’t want anything that felt “done” or like they were even attending a wedding… I wanted that “undone, yet done” vibe. Most importantly, I wanted people to be in an environment that encouraged fun!

Music was so important to us, and our DJ really listened to the type of music and vibe we wanted to create and then took it to a whole other level. I don’t think there was a single minute that the dance floor wasn’t full from the start to the end of the night. It was electric! We also had fire dancers just before we opened up the dance floor and when they kicked up their routine into high gear, it was just so much fun and really got everyone excited to hit the dance floor!

If you don’t have a wedding planner, don’t be afraid to ask for help! We were SO lucky to have so many people willing to help. I asked my mother- in-law to just take care of the flowers, because I knew she’d be amazing at it, and she so graciously took care of it all!

My husband wrote a song for our wedding day and sang me down the aisle! Most magical moment ever. Our recessional was Love On Top by Beyonce. Our dads, who officiated, pulled confetti cannons out and we danced our way out.

When the party was over and we were leaving we had everyone lined up with sparklers in hand. We were both waiting to go down the sparkler aisle, and I decided to run to the bathroom. Well while I was in the bathroom, the sparklers were given the go-ahead to light. So as I walked out Jansen said “They just lit all of the sparklers, you missed it” My heart completely sunk, but LUCKILY my parents bought double the amount we needed, so there was plenty to do a do-over.
