Choosing a Destination That Matched Their Vibe
From the start, Catherine and Spenser wanted their wedding to feel like a vacation, for them and their guests. “Relaxed, carefree, and most importantly, fun,” they shared. They envisioned a place where nature could do most of the talking, and Acre Resort Cabo delivered on every front. “The mix of light wood, concrete, greenery, and cacti created such a calming backdrop. It felt stylish, organic, and a little magical.”
Their dream was brought to life by the team at Bliss Events, who made sure every detail felt intentional. “They truly understood what we were going for. The day was more than we ever could’ve hoped for.”

Focusing the Budget Where It Mattered Most
When it came to budget and planning, the couple kept their focus clear. “We sat down and had an honest conversation about what truly mattered to us.” The top priorities? Great food, good drinks, and a dance floor that kept the energy high all night long.
By cutting back on things like signage and favors, items they felt might be tossed or forgotten, they were able to invest more into the experience. “One of our splurges was the beautiful ceremony arch, which ended up being such a meaningful part of the day.”
Rather than leaning on trend-heavy decor, they let the venue speak for itself. With a color palette of creamy oranges, soft greens, and muted yellows, the florals and textiles added warmth without overwhelming the space. Spenser had one sweet request for the floral vision: “Make them look like the flowers I give you.” That real-life gesture inspired a romantic and organic arrangement style that perfectly echoed their relationship.

Letting Personality Shine Through Every Outfit
Catherine wore a romantic Saint Salome gown for the ceremony, complete with a full, flowing skirt and timeless silhouette. “I had tried on so many dresses that felt beautiful, but safe. The moment I put this one on, I just knew.” It made her feel bridal and free to dance the night away.
Later, she changed into a halter jumpsuit she’d bought years ago and never worn. “It turned out to be perfect. I felt like a total disco diva—fun, comfortable, and ready to party.”
Spenser kept it classic with a black tux and a brand-new watch, a gift that made the day feel even more meaningful. The wedding party wore mix-and-match dresses in shades of green, with everyone choosing what made them feel beautiful and at ease.
“My best friend did my makeup, which made me feel grounded and calm,” Catherine added. “She knows my face better than anyone and made sure I looked and felt like myself.”

How Intentional Design Created a Welcoming Space
Catherine and Spenser’s reception setup at Acre Resort Cabo was the definition of effortless elegance. Surrounded by native desert plants and dramatic hillside views, the layout featured long, linen-draped tables arranged in a welcoming U-shape. Overhead, floral installation structures wrapped in soft blooms and string lights brought warmth and structure to the open-air layout.
Seasonal blooms in soft orange and yellow tones were arranged in minimalist glass vases alongside pillar candles. Natural wood chairs, sage green napkins, and the venue’s architectural details tied everything together.

Personalizing the Guest Experience With Meaningful Details
Catherine and Spenser infused their celebration with heartfelt details that made the day feel deeply personal. Instead of traditional place cards, they wrote handwritten notes to each guest. An emotional gesture that reflected just how much their loved ones meant to them. Thoughtful additions like custom cocktail napkins and a curated bar menu added even more personality to the experience.
When it came time to party, the energy was unmatched. “We wanted amazing energy and unforgettable vibes, and Alex DJ absolutely delivered,” they shared. From Motown classics to early 2000s hip hop and a John Summit finale, the music kept the dance floor alive. Glow sticks and carajillos added the perfect boost, turning the night into what they described as “pure magic.”

A Grounded Approach to Wedding Planning
Looking back, Catherine and Spenser are glad they focused on what mattered most. Their advice? “Enjoy the day and soak it up. The more fun you have, the more fun your guests will have. Don’t worry about perfection—focus on your partner, your love, and the celebration.” Their Acre Resort Cabo wedding reflected that approach. Thoughtfully designed, genuinely personal, and centered on what mattered most to them.
