Earth-Toned And Modern Wedding Inspiration Shoot

June 4, 2021 | riley

We have to brag for a second–we have some of the most talented members around. Don’t believe us? Just look at the proof in this modern wedding inspiration shoot put together by Junebug member Nikk Nguyen Photo. With the help of planner XO Moreau Events, the pair transformed The Union On Eighth–a former blacksmith shop–into a space full of whimsical touches.

Model Emily looked like a real-life princess in her ruffled Unbridaled gown, while Kyle’s dapper brown Bonobos suit paired well with the earth-toned decor from Bee Lavish Vintage Rentals and dried florals from The Farmer & I Flower Co. Every carefully curated detail was the definition of desert meets fairytale.

We love asking vendors what their vision was when putting together styled shoots, and the following quotes are what Nikk said about the day.

Nikk Nguyen On The Modern Wedding Inspiration Shoot

For this particular styled shoot, we really wanted to enhance the beauty of The Union on Eighth by bringing in earth tones and a natural design with a modern touch. XO Moreau Events designed this shoot to perfection, covering every little detail with care and beauty. Bee Lavish Vintage Rentals came through with the perfect vintage pieces to bring the decor together in a beautiful and complementary way.

Incredible Arrangements Made of Pampas Grass And Dried Florals

The Farmer and I Flower Co put their heart and souls into the stunning arrangements. Pampas grass, dried palms, and other dried florals made for some of the most beautiful floral arrangements I’ve ever seen. The neutral colors in the bouquets beautifully complemented the rest of the decor and really popped next to the models, who, by the way, were also incredible!

The Perks Of Working With Professional Wedding Vendors

I love being a part of styled shoots. The amount of preparation and planning that goes into an inspiration shoot is almost as much as an actual wedding day shoot—kidding! But the detail that vendors put into their work of the beautifully styled shoot is insane. It really is like bringing artists together to create a puzzle. Vendors pull out all the stops, and this modern shoot at The Union on Eighth was no exception!

Stunning New Orleans Micro Wedding

June 3, 2021 | Junebug Weddings

Micro weddings were a major trend in 2020 for more reasons than just the global pandemic. It’s intimate, budget-friendly, and allows for couples to get married wherever they want. And for Amber and Ramana, that meant choosing to have a New Orleans micro wedding surrounded by their closest friends and family. They gathered their wedding guests and ran around the streets of the French Quarter. Eventually ending the celebration with fresh beignets.

What made their micro wedding truly special was infusing their cultures in their ceremony and read their own personalized vows. Thankfully, Junebug member Emily Delamater Photography captured all the smiles and love from this ceremony. If you’re ready to see the streets of New Orleans’ French Square and champagne toasts, keep scrolling to see this New Orleans micro wedding.

Great Laughs And Memories

We read our own vows and I loved that we fused our two cultures: his Indian heritage through the garland exchange and my Irish heritage through a poem. During the ceremony, we also had some fun bloopers like forgetting that the garlands were still in the hotel’s refrigerator and we forgot to get them out. We had to take an intermission to have someone find them, which allowed for some great laughs and time to soak in all of the people who were sitting there with us. Things don’t have to be perfect on your wedding day. Some of my favorite memories from that day were just hilarious mishaps.

Best Friends And Beignets

Another favorite memory was feeding each other beignets when we ran around New Orleans with our photographers, after the brunch, and getting covered in sugar. That was amazing. Also, my best friend since childhood was our officiant and that was really special. I just loved what she added to our ceremony and it was so lovely having her there as we said our “I do’s.”

Wedding Advice From the Bride

Always hire a coordinator! I’m a wedding photographer and I really thought I could do it all on my own because I’ve witnessed so many weddings. But, it just takes so much stress off your shoulders to have that extra help. Even if it’s an intimate day, it’s so worth it. Also, your photographer is so much more than your photographer! I was so lucky to have my dear friend Emily Delamater and her husband Matt shoot our wedding. They were so helpful and delivered the most lovely heirlooms for us.

Why A New Orleans Micro Wedding

We loved the ambiance of the ACE Hotel New Orleans and Seaworthy Restaurant next door because of the old world feel we were going for. Seaworthy especially struck a chord with me. It was the perfect atmosphere for our tiny wedding. We fell in love the second we saw the images online and knew that was it.

Edgy And Colorful London Elopement Inspiration Shoot

June 1, 2021 | Junebug Weddings

A bold pink suit, colorful smoke, and colorful wall art—these are some of the elements that make up this edgy and colorful London elopement inspiration shoot. The fashion was absolutely top-notch with a sequin mermaid two-piece set, a pink veil, chunky heels, and a bright pink suit. To add to the bold colors and edginess, Kirsty Mackenzie Photography took to the streets of London to use street art as their backdrop. Mixed with their fun elopement announcements from Sundown Paper and florals from Bud Flora, this elopement was proof that elopements can be lowkey, easy-going, and still maintain plenty of fun elements.

Here’s what Kirsty Mackenzie Photography had to say about this elopement inspiration shoot:

This inspired elopement celebrates mixed race, LGBTQ+ love, and the incredible street art of edgy Shoreditch in London, United Kingdom. I wanted to create some inspiration to show that not all elopements need to be fancy or expensive. Getting married to your love can be as easy as nipping to your local registry office or courthouse, wearing something you feel fierce in, and heading out around London to enjoy the sites and street art! Love can look like many things but it feels like this

This shoot is all about fashion. Inspired by my love of 90s pop and grunge, I decided to embrace this era for all the fashion elements.

Shop similar pink veils: blush pink veil ($125.89); pink cathedral wedding veil ($100); light pink glitter veil ($60.71+)
