Rancho Las Lomas Wedding Filled with Bohemian Charm and Autumnal Hues

November 13, 2025 | justine

Lauren and Adam’s Rancho Las Lomas wedding was a warm, handmade celebration that perfectly captured their bohemian spirit. They envisioned a day filled with love, laughter, and authenticity—complete with live music, rich autumn colors, and personal details that felt like an extension of their story. From rust and sage florals to hand-lettered touches and a late-night queso bar, the result was a celebration that felt effortlessly personal.

Their story began with a simple (but telling) Bumble prompt: Queso over guac. As a Kansas City girl living in avocado-obsessed LA, Lauren knew that was rare and intriguing. Their first date at Redbird, an old chapel-turned-restaurant downtown, sparked something instant. “Before we knew it, every other day we were staying at each other’s place until we decided to move in together. The rest is history!” Lauren shared.

What We Love About This Rancho Las Lomas Wedding

  • A rich color palette of rust, sage, and mauve that captured the early fall mood
  • A live cellist “rick-rolling” guests with a romantic version of Never Gonna Give You Up
  • Matching alien tattoos symbolizing their quirky connection
  • A late-night queso bar as a playful nod to how they met
  • Thoughtful letters written to family members, shared during the ceremony

Letting Rancho Las Lomas Set the Scene

Lauren and Adam wanted a venue that didn’t need much dressing up, and Rancho Las Lomas immediately felt right. Nestled in the hills of Silverado Canyon, its Spanish-style architecture, tiled roofs, and painted fountains offered the romantic and outdoor setting they’d been searching for. “It was the only venue we visited because we loved it so much,” Lauren said. “We live in Southern California and wanted to take advantage of the weather. The venue already had so much character that we didn’t feel the need to over-decorate.”

Their planner helped them bring everything together seamlessly, from vendors who shared their creative energy to details that reflected their personalities. “We enjoyed spending time planning with our team and seeing our vision come to life,” they shared. “They were excited to execute our weird ideas—like a cellist version of Rick Astley!”

A Ceremony That Blended Humor and Heart

The couple wrote personal vows but chose to exchange them privately the night before, keeping the ceremony itself heartfelt yet lighthearted. Their friend Britany officiated, blending meaningful stories with laughter and warmth. One of the most touching gestures came when Lauren and Adam surprised their loved ones with handwritten letters during the ceremony. “Adam wrote letters to my parents, grandmother, aunt, and brother, and I wrote to his parents and sisters. We handed them out individually as a surprise,” Lauren shared.

Even with temperatures soaring past 100°F, the couple and their guests made the most of the day with paper fans and plenty of drinks to stay cool. Junebug vendor Grace T. Photography captured it all so gracefully that the heat is barely noticeable in their photos.

Wedding Fashion That Blended Elegance and Personality

Lauren fell in love with her Kim Kassas gown after visiting multiple boutiques and trying on dozens of dresses. “I originally saw it online after going to three other bridal stores and trying on probably 30 different dresses,” she shared. “I went to Jaxon James specifically to try on this one and almost fell in love with another Kim Kassas dress. I eventually went with my gut and chose this one because of how the tulle fell on the skirt. Just a stunning dress!”

Because of an unexpected heatwave, Lauren switched into her silk getting-ready dress later in the evening but kept her signature style intact, graceful and effortless.

Adam opted for a look that felt bold yet timeless. “I wanted to be unique but still classy,” he said. He wore a custom crushed green velvet tuxedo jacket with a bow tie, finished with red-bottom Louboutins and a vintage French gold watch Lauren had given him for his birthday.

From Queso Bars to Tattoos: A Reception Full of Personality

After the ceremony, guests gathered for a dinner under the California sky. Food was their top priority, followed closely by live music; they splurged on both by upgrading their catering package and bringing in a live band that kept everyone dancing.

Their Rancho Las Lomas wedding also included a late-night queso bar, a playful nod to their first Bumble conversation, and signature cocktails inspired by their dogs. Guests left heartfelt (and increasingly funny) audio guestbook recordings that perfectly captured the joy of the day.

Adding to the fun, the couple had a tattoo artist on-site for guests. “We got matching tattoos on the backs of our arms—an alien pointing outward, so when we stand next to each other, the fingers touch,” they explained. “The alien tattoo was off-limits to everyone else, but guests could get their own designs during the reception.”

A Celebration of Love, Family, and Intentional Choices

Every part of their Rancho Las Lomas wedding reflected Lauren and Adam’s philosophy: to stay true to themselves. “Be selfish! This is your day as a couple,” Lauren advised. “Pick who you want there, order the food you want, wear what speaks to you, and don’t feel pressured to conform. Be honest with your wedding team if you need a breather. They encouraged us to take time alone together, and we really appreciated that.”

Your Guide to Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico’s Rising Wine Country Wedding Destination

November 13, 2025 | justine

Tucked between the mountains of Baja California and the Pacific breeze, Valle de Guadalupe has become one of Mexico’s most exciting destinations for couples dreaming of a celebration that blends nature, design, and world-class gastronomy. Once a quiet wine region, it’s now a vibrant hub for creativity—where vineyards, architecture, and food come together to create an experience unlike anywhere else.

According to Selene, wedding planner and founder of Proboda Baja Weddings, the region’s magic lies in how every element feels intentional. “Valle de Guadalupe is a place where nature becomes the perfect canvas to create unforgettable moments. It’s a paradise surrounded by vineyards, mountains, and a special kind of light that turns any event into a magical experience.”

Valle de Guadalupe At a Glance

  • Nearest airports: Tijuana (TIJ) with a 1.5 hour drive
  • Best time for wedding: Late spring or early fall (peak season is summer)
  • Average temperature: Highs in the mid-80s to lows in the high-50s during summer
  • Popular venue styles: Vineyards, modern architectural estates, boutique hotels
  • Estimated guest size range: 20–150 (small to mid-size destination weddings)

Why Couples Are Choosing Valle de Guadalupe

Valle de Guadalupe offers something rare: an escape that’s both accessible and authentic. Just a 90-minute drive from Tijuana or a short trip from San Diego, it’s easy to reach but feels worlds away. “It still feels like a true getaway,” shares Selene. “There’s this perfect balance between Baja’s natural charm and the elevated design of boutique hospitality.”

The area’s growth as a wedding destination has been fueled by its globally recognized culinary scene. “Gastronomy has been a huge driving force. International travelers fell in love with the food here, and that sparked the creation of new boutique hotels, event spaces, and infrastructure built to host incredible weddings.”

Equally captivating is the diversity of its venues. “Every venue in the Valley has its own story and soul. You can find a pyramid-style venue next to an oasis-inspired one, another with Italian architecture, and just around the corner, a modern Mexican art space.”

The Signature Style of Valle de Guadalupe Celebrations

The Valley’s aesthetic is effortless and timeless, modern lines softened by organic details. “Minimalist and modern designs with natural elements are very popular right now. It’s that perfect mix of contemporary and organic, where cactus, palms, and vineyards coexist beautifully.”

Expect warm, earthy color palettes, natural textures, and candlelit receptions that feel deeply connected to the landscape. The style reflects what the Valley itself represents: understated sophistication rooted in nature.

What to Know Before Planning a Valle de Guadalupe Wedding

A Valle de Guadalupe wedding is a seamless blend of style and simplicity. The Valley’s compact layout makes it easy for guests to explore, with scenic drives linking wineries, restaurants, and lodging. “You can fly into Tijuana and drive about 90 minutes through breathtaking mountain routes,” says Selene.

Since accommodations are small and boutique, early booking is essential. The best season for weddings runs from May through late October, when vineyards are lush, skies are clear, and evenings are cool enough for outdoor receptions.

“During these months, sunsets paint the sky with incredible colors—perfect for outdoor ceremonies and photos.”

A realistic budget for 100 guests ranges between $60,000 and $80,000 USD, depending on venue and vendor selection. Some properties include in-house catering or minimum consumption requirements, while others allow full customization for décor, food, and entertainment.

If you have a more intimate celebration in mind, you can expect to spend around $20,000 to $30,000. Whatever the size, we strongly recommend hiring a local wedding planner, like Selene from Proboda Weddings.

A Guest Experience Centered Around Food and Wine

In Valle de Guadalupe, food and wine are more than details—they’re the foundation of every celebration. The region’s thriving culinary scene, now recognized by the Michelin Guide, has made it a magnet for couples who value sensory experiences. “Food and wine are at the heart of every wedding here. It’s what defines the Valley’s charm.”

Most couples turn their celebration into a weekend-long experience, beginning with a relaxed welcome dinner at a winery or boutique hotel, followed by the wedding day, and ending with a farewell brunch overlooking the vines. But what truly sets Valle apart is the guest experience. Between events, guests can explore world-class vineyards, enjoy private tastings, book massages at vineyard spas, or take scenic drives through the Valley’s mountains. Many couples also arrange guided wine tours, mezcal tastings, or excursions to nearby coastal towns like Ensenada for a well-rounded Baja getaway.

“We want every guest to leave saying, ‘That was the best wedding of my life.’”

Local Insight: Making the Most of Your Valley Celebration

For couples considering Valle de Guadalupe, the best starting point is timing. Choose your ideal season, then work with a local planner familiar with the Valley’s logistics, permits, and vendor network. Local expertise ensures every detail flows seamlessly.

“Valle de Guadalupe is more than a destination. It’s an experience that captures the beauty of Mexico through its landscapes, flavors, and people. Every wedding here tells a story.”

With years of experience planning destination celebrations, Selene of Proboda Baja Weddings continues to craft weddings that embody the Valley’s unique spirit—where design, nature, and emotion intertwine effortlessly.
