Couples hire me because they’re looking for more than just pretty pictures—they want their story told in a way that feels real and meaningful. My style is natural and emotionally honest, with a focus on capturing those candid, in-between moments that often say the most. I don’t believe in overly posed photos; instead, I aim to document the day as it truly unfolds, so couples can look back and feel the emotion all over again. While posed photos are part of my process, I find that the connections within the reception, the wedding party, the family and the couple themself dictate where the day leads us. Clients often tell me they felt an immediate sense of ease and connection, which is something I really value. I take the time to get to know each couple, to understand who they are and what’s most important to them. That connection allows me to create images that genuinely reflect their personalities and the heart of their relationship. I also bring a calm, grounded presence to the wedding day, which helps couples relax and enjoy themselves—even during the most chaotic moments. I think that trust, combined with consistently thoughtful, beautifully edited work, is why so many couples not only hire me but also recommend me to others.

I never imagined wedding photography would become my life’s work. Honestly, I didn’t even pick up a camera with serious intent until I moved across the world. In 2010, I was teaching in China. It was supposed to be a short chapter—an adventure, a chance to see the world from a new perspective. But what I didn’t expect was how deeply that experience would change me. One of my colleagues had two cameras and he leant me one. We both took images throughout the days and then would compare our images at night, and wouldn't you know, mine were never as good as my friends. So, when I returned to the States I bought my first DSLR on a whim, thinking I’d use it to learn, and potentially out snap, my friend some day. I came home with thousands of images and a new obsession. I started photographing families and seniors, anything and everything. Then, one of my best friends got engaged and asked me to take engagement photos. I loved the exhilaration that came from directing the pose, seeing the moment before it happened and editing the final product. I was hooked. And then, I was fortunate enough to photography my first wedding. I knew that this was it. This was where emotion, storytelling, connection, and art all came together in one beautiful, chaotic, joy-filled day. That one wedding led to another… and then another. And eventually, I founded Green Apple Photography as a way to give couples something more than just photos. I wanted to create space for them to feel—and then to have those feelings preserved forever. The real smiles. The deep breaths. The in-between glances. The quiet magic most people miss. Photography started as a way to document my own story. Now, it’s how I help others remember theirs.
