As soon as Ruth and Declan laid their eyes on Portuguese eco-boutique hotel Areias do Seixo, they knew they had found a little slice of heaven on earth. Ruth and Declan’s Portugal destination wedding started with a gorgeous church ceremony at Convento de Santo António do Varatojo and was followed by a reception at Areias do Seixo‘s otherworldly open-air reception garden. In true Portuguese fashion, the couple gifted all of their guests a bottle of port at the end of the night. During the planning process, going to view the venues was most important to us, as often photos don’t always give you the best idea of the venue and they don’t give you a feel for the place properly.
The church ceremony was very special to us, especially the processional where we met each other at the church altar.
It was beautiful to walk out to one of our favourite songs and to see all of our beautiful friends and family and be greeted by the beautiful confetti rose petals.
The reception venue was out of this world and when we found it, we thought that we found just a little bit of heaven on earth.
