Winter Wedding Centerpieces to Complete Your Reception

When putting together winter wedding centerpieces, you have more options than you might think. Winter brings its own magical charm, but it’s not exactly known for its abundant flora. You might think poinsettias and red roses are your only choices, but there’s a world of rich, jewel-toned flowers out there that are both beautiful and unique. The Junebug team especially loves the addition of anthurium, amaranth, or kiku into a centerpiece (quite the mouthful, but look them up—you’ll recognize them!).

And remember, winter centerpieces don’t have to be your standard floral arrangements in vases. Whether you’re drawn to timeless monochrome whites, rustic greenery, sparkling glass, or a mix of all three, winter centerpieces can bring that finishing touch to your reception decor. When styled thoughtfully, your tablescapes can add warmth, elegance, and that perfect wintery touch, transporting you and your guests to a wedding wonderland.

Our Favorite Winter Wedding Centerpieces

Statement Monochrome

Nothing says “winter magic” quite like a monochrome table decked in white. Imagine clouds of baby’s breath, delicate white blooms, and candles of varying heights and shapes, all in shades of off-white and soft cream. This look is simple but sophisticated. It’s a timeless choice that feels as romantic as the season itself.

Greenery

You can’t go wrong with greenery-centered centerpieces for a winter wedding. This look shines on farm tables, with garlands or foliage runners made of Norfolk pine, cedar, and spruce, bringing a nostalgic winter feel. Go with eucalyptus for a touch of modern farmhouse, or even moss to bring a mystical forest vibe right to your table. This style keeps things natural, simple, and completes the essence of winter.

Medley of Glass and Candles

Next, add a little sparkle and glow to your reception tables with a mix of crystal, glass, and candlelight. Use glass candle holders, vintage crystal pieces, and votives with softly flickering flames, all casting a magical glow. The play of light on glass gives that same romantic effect of delicate twinkle lights (a known crowd favorite.)

Bold Blooms with Winter Greens

Winter weddings bring to mind evergreens, and we love the look of hardy, needle-leaf greenery paired with soft, romantic blooms. Burgundy, crimson, and classic white florals—such as ranunculus, anemone, and lilies —add softness and warmth to the crisp winter greenery, creating a striking contrast that feels lush and fresh. Mixing these textures is a beautiful way to bring winter colors to life.

Dried Flowers and Branches

If you’re picturing a winter wedding with a boho touch, dried flowers and/or branches can bring it all together. Go with soft beige florals like strawflowers and preserved roses, paired with pampas grass, bunny tails, and amaranthus for earthy texture and subtle color. This muted palette feels just right for winter and pairs beautifully with any other colors you might want to add as accents.

A Little Bit of Everything

Can’t settle on just one style? Or are you looking for a really showstopping, one-of-a-kind centerpiece? Take a little inspiration from all of the above! We’ve seen breathtaking centerpieces that combine elements from all these winter themes— garlands with pops of colorful flowers or berries, a few white roses for softness, and pops of glass and candlelight to add sparkle. This layered approach creates a rich, dynamic look that’s full of texture.

Styling One of Texas’ Coolest Houses for an Intimate Wedding

November 22, 2024 | justine

Finding the right wedding venue is key—it sets the vibe for your entire celebration. And when a place already has character and charm, it’s the perfect starting point. That’s exactly what this talented team of vendors found in Bloomhouse in Austin, Texas. This unique location brought a sense of magic, elegance, and whimsy to their vision, creating an unforgettable styled shoot.

Bloomhouse has an amazing history. Back in the early 1970s, Dalton Bloom set out to build a timeless space, and architect Charles Harker took on the challenge. Together, they created an otherworldly structure nestled in a wooded valley of West Austin. With its flowing, organic shapes, Bloomhouse seems to grow right out of the earth, inspired by the natural curves of wind and air. After 11 years in the making, this remarkable home quickly became known as an architectural marvel.

Now, Bloomhouse welcomes small weddings and elopements, making it a unique addition to the wedding scene. In this styled shoot, the team leaned into the whimsical, natural vibe with lush greenery draped over the building’s curves, forming a beautiful altar for vows. The terrace offered an intimate setting for a cozy reception, with earthy centerpieces of blooms and moss and touches of blue, white, and gold for a fresh, modern feel.

If you’re a couple who loves both art and architecture, this Bloomhouse shoot is the ultimate inspiration. Laurie Nicole Photo captured every detail beautifully, showcasing how the right venue can bring your wedding dreams to life in an unforgettable way.

A Sneak Peak at 2025 Wedding Trends

November 20, 2024 | justine

Get ready to be inspired—these 2025 wedding trends are here to help you bring your dream day to life in style! Image by Kate Merrill Photo

Weddings are all about celebrating love, and every year brings new ways to make that celebration even more special. This coming year’s trends are shaping up to be especially creative and vibrant, full of fresh ideas that reflect each couple’s personality and style. From colorful decor to unique fashion choices, 2025 is all about standing out and creating unforgettable moments.

With insights from our trusted Junebug vendors and our own expertise, we’ve rounded up the top trends we predict you’ll be seeing everywhere this year. Whether you’re planning an intimate gathering or a grand affair, these 2025 wedding trends are here to inspire and help you bring your vision to life in style.

2025 Wedding Trends

1. Intimate Weddings Aren’t Going Anywhere

Micro weddings are here to stay! Colorado-based photographer Katie Fletcher notes, “Micro weddings! I have seen many more of these coming up, which is letting couples be super intentional about their details and plans for the day.” Milly Baine of The Rose Reflective adds, “I think more couples are continuing to lean into weddings with smaller guest lists. This does not mean they are skimping on their wedding. They are just more intentional about who is in attendance. Eloping continues to grow in popularity, too, and it is not just adventure elopements. Courthouse weddings have seen a huge uptick, and I do not see that changing.”

2. Statement Headpieces and Hats

The scene in The Parent Trap where Hallie poses with her mom’s model totally comes to mind! From interesting hats to jewel hairpieces, couples and guests are expressing their style with interesting headwear.  We’re noticing the rise of 1920s beaded headpieces, the return of sophisticated birdcages, and more. This trend isn’t just for brides; grooms and guests are joining in, making it a fun, fashion-forward addition to 2025 wedding styles.

3. Halter Neck Dresses

Halter neck dresses are bringing a modern twist to bridal fashion. High-neck styles of dresses look great on several body types while also bringing sophistication and elegance. This style is perfect for brides looking to make a bold statement while remaining stylish and comfortable.

4. Corset Dresses

2025 is all about distinctive wedding dress styles, with corset tops making a statement due to their vintage flair and flattering structure. Michigan-based photographer Catie Eovaldi predicts, “Alternative wedding dresses are going to be big,” allowing brides to create a look that’s all their own.

5. Fashion Moments for the Groom

Seattle wedding photographer tmInspired points out, “We’re seeing grooms step away from traditional suits and embrace relaxed yet stylish looks, often incorporating unique colors and textures that reflect their personality and the wedding theme. One groom made his jacket with like a million blue sequins! Incredible and so much fun on the dance floor. I feel like wedding day outfit change trends focus a lot on the bride, and I think an LGBTQ couple deserves the spotlight too.”

6. Curvy Aisles

Ceremony setups are becoming more elaborate, with winding aisles and statement decor. A beautifully arranged, curved aisle leading to the altar adds an unexpected visual element and creates a more intimate feel.

7. Outdoor Chandelier Displays

Outdoor chandelier displays are gaining popularity, bringing elegance to open-air venues and creating a romantic atmosphere. This trend adds sophistication to outdoor celebrations, enhancing their memorability.

8. Drapery as Decor

We’re loving the rise in drapery–and we don’t mean the dress style. More wedding designers and venues are adding lush fabric installations to elevate their ceremony and reception spaces. White or neutral colored fabrics bring an editorial flare to a space, while colorful textiles can bring a sense of artistry and cheerfulness. A perfect, versatile addition to your wedding decor.

9. Fruit Centerpieces

New York-based photographer Brittany Ford predicts that “fruits and vegetables will be used in table decor.” This trend brings a fun pop of color and an earthy vibe to centerpieces, mixing elegance with a bit of playful charm.

10. Creative Dessert Spreads

Gone are the days of a single wedding cake! Catie shares, “I’ve also noticed my 2025 couples are not having a wedding cake and instead are doing a dessert spread.” Couples are opting for a variety of sweet treats, from vintage-style cakes to candy bars and dessert stations featuring unique offerings.

11. Nostalgic and Fun Late-Night Snacks

Late-night snacks are evolving, too! Fun options like pancake stations or gelato bars ensure guests stay fueled and entertained well into the night. Wedding planners Dubrovnik Luxury Weddings observe, “Late-night snacks have changed a lot. We often have a pancake station or pizza and gelato station.”

12. Classic Portraits

Reviving the painting-like group portrait, couples opt for posed, elegant shots inspired by old-world elegance. This trend combines timelessness with contemporary style, creating artistic portraits that feel like works of art.

13. Multi-Day Celebrations

More couples are choosing multi-day celebrations, allowing more time to savor their wedding experience with loved ones. Rose Groves of Matlai Photography shares, “I see more couples choosing to have a small vow ceremony or elopement, and then having big celebrations with friends and family.”

One thing our expert Junebug vendors agree on is that couples are embracing their personal style like never before, turning weddings into memorable and one-of-a-kind experiences. With bold style, meaningful moments, and creative touches leading the way, 2025 is set to be an inspiring year for wedding trends.
