Burgundy and Blush Provence Wedding at Bastide de Puget

February 11, 2020 | Junebug Weddings

Catia and Bobby has our hearts feeling all the warm, fuzzy feels as we obsess over their blush and burgundy wedding day at Bastide de Puget. While we’ve seen pampas grass and bohemian decor before, we love the elegant approach D’amour et de Déco created specifically for this couple’s dream day. Even the rain couldn’t stop the beauty of every detail! We personally love the photo Pinewood Weddings captured of Catia looking flawless with her clear umbrella. Pro tip: If light rain is in the forecast, a clear umbrella is a great way to still be able to get cute photos outside. If romance, earthy elegance, and a touch of boho sounds like you, this day at Bastide de Puget will be one you’ll want to Pin to your inspiration board!

The Couple:

Catia & Bobby

The Wedding:

Bastide de Puget, Meyreuil, Provence, France

D’amour & de Déco and Pinewoods are real artists and incredible people that you can fully trust to deliver above your expectations. They knew how to adapt to any situation and work as a team.

What was important to us was to make our wedding very personal. Bobby and I had been together for over 7 years, had lived in different countries, with friends and family from different cultures. So we wanted to feel all of this during our day. From the beginning, we knew that we wanted a simple, relaxed yet elegant, modern wedding. We wanted to bring details that are meaningful to us, that reflect our story and the things we like. From the choice of the location where we spend our summer holidays, the ceremony that we created with our close friends, the colors, flowers and decoration, to the choice of songs that are special to us. Every little detail was important for us and that’s how we chose the professionals that helped us creating our day: from the photography to the design, music and venue; the main criteria is that it needed to truly reflect us.

Before our wedding, we were apprehensive of sharing our vows in front of all our friends and families; and for a long time we hesitated to exchange them only between the two of us. The weather also had to be right since we had planned everything outside of the Bastide, from the ceremony to the cocktail and reception. Given we were getting married in Provence in July, we were confident the sky would be with us. When a few days before our wedding we saw the weather forecast change from extreme heat to extreme rain, we got very nervous and had to change all our plans at the last minute. We needed to move everything indoors, which proved to be a challenge as the space didn’t quite fit with the number of guests we had. On the morning of the wedding, we met with our photographers (Eni and Levi, Pinewood Weddings) and our wedding designers (Vanessa, D’amour & de Déco) to decide how to best re-arrange the space for the ceremony. We were so pleased we trusted them as they turned the ceremony into this timeless place: the colours, tones and flowers were absolutely divine. And, with the music band playing our special songs, it altogether made it feel like this magical moment suspended in time. Bobby and I felt so appeased that our vows were the most serene and touching moment that we will keep with us forever.

We knew from the beginning we wanted to get married in the south of France as it’s Bobby hometown and we spent most of our summers in Provence. When we visited the Bastide de Puget, we immediately fell in love with the place. The lush gardens, the classical statues, the fountain, the wallpapers, the high windows and ceilings. There was something magical about it. The Bastide was elegant, full of character yet felt very intimate and like a family house.

The choice of our music band for the wedding was very important. We spent time searching for a band that not only plays the songs that we like but also gives them an authentic, bluesy twist. I knew one of Bobby‘s wishes since little was to play in a band, so I asked the musicians to invite him to play piano with them during our cocktail. Playing, singing and dancing on ‘Hit the road Jack’ with our guests was one of our favorite and most special moments.

Idyllic British Columbia Wedding at Painted Rock Estate Winery

February 10, 2020 | Junebug Weddings

Kristi and Cody’s Painted Rock Estate Winery wedding felt like something out of a storybook in every way. The couple hired Created Lovely Events to help them create a day that would feel like an authentic celebration of their love with an English garden party vibe. With organic greenery and lots of natural textures, the couple’s vision for an idyllic day at the incredible family-owned winery came to life in a most breathtaking way. If romantic bridal style is your thing, we can’t wait for you to see how stunning Kristi looked in her Monique Lhuillier gown and shoes with sweet little notes written on the bottoms. With all of this goodness, we’re thankful the talented photographers, Shari & Mike, were there to capture every stunning and sentimental detail.

The Couple:

Kristi & Cody

The Wedding:

Painted Rock Estate Winery, Penticton, British Columbia

We chose Painted Rock Estate Winery because you absolutely cannot beat the view, and their Rosé. The venue overlooks both the vineyard and Skaha Lake, with the setting of the rolling Okanagan mountains in the background. It was a no-brainer. This lovely family-owned winery is simply the best venue in the area!

The most memorable part of the day was, ironically, when all the hustle and bustle of the preparation and ceremony were complete. It was when we had a few moments to greet our guests just after the ceremony, and share a quick glass of bubbly, and then to sneak away for some photos, just the two of us, right at dusk. In these moments Cody & I really had the opportunity to look at each other, laugh, and talk.

We wanted a soft, pretty, and romantic vibe, and aimed for a English garden party/French-Country look. Lots of organic greenery and white florals with natural linens and rustic woods/wicker. We wanted everyone to feel comfortable and relaxed, yet with an air of classic beauty and sophistication.

It might seem really important in the moment, but try to focus on the things your guests will really remember – good food, good wine (or beer, or whatever floats your boat!), and opportunities to make sweet memories. Also, if you’re going to hire a wedding planner, work with someone who knows your style inside and out, and who you can trust completely. There are so many decisions to make during the planning process, and it is super helpful to be able to rely on someone who just gets you and your vision. Nicole was that person; and her team went above and beyond to make sure everything fell into place on the day of.

To this day, we also still have guests who remark about the delicious meal and treats from Waterfront Catering and Sprinkle & Whisk. Both of these vendors were incredibly open to suggestion during the planning process, and created artfully-beautiful food and baked goods, that tasted just as good as they looked!

Every single member of our team was top notch, however Shari + Mike, our photographers, knocked it out of the park, and I think the photos speak for themselves. They made us feel so comfortable, and provided us with photos of candid memories that will last a lifetime. Their eye for light, and ability to communicate mood through the photos is unmatched. Worth. Every. Penny.

Blush and Wood Wedding at Leo Carrillo Ranch

February 9, 2020 | Junebug Weddings

Brittany and Jon-Erik’s day at Leo Carrillo Ranch was bohemian chic with a feminine flair! Although the wedding took place in San Diego, the planning team at Details Darling pulled from the boho Palm Springs desert vibe with lots of dried elements, desert tones — and a whole lot of pampas! From rugs going down the aisle, bountiful pampas basket arrangements mixed with beautiful garden roses, mix and matched napkins and water goblets, it was the perfect bohemian, pampas-filled wedding! Fun fact: Brittany loves mud cloth. It was only fitting that the team incorporate mud cloth throughout her wedding as well. The Mud Cloth trend was carried throughout the invites to the welcome sign, to the escort display, to the table numbers and tying it all together with mud cloth lounge pillows from the brides home, all the way in Portland! If you’re a sucker for sweet, stylish details and romantic couples photos, like these by Brogen Jessup, you’re sure to feel inspired by this adorable couple’s day!

The Couple:

Brittany & Jon-Erik

The Wedding:

Leo Carrillo Ranch, Carlsbad, CA

I had a vision for our wedding and was very lucky that my husband was supportive of it all! I am a California girl at heart and wanted our wedding to reflect that aspect of our life. We had considered getting married in Hawaii or Palm Springs and our venue ended up being the perfect combination of both tropical and desert elements. Details Darling helped me really nail down the vibe and style of the day and everything came together perfectly!

The most memorable part of the day was having all our family and friends in the same place, at the same time, celebrating with us! We are currently located in Portland, Oregon, but our families reside all throughout California and the US. We had family travel from Canada, Hawaii, Colorado, Oregon, Nevada and more to be apart of our day and it was extra special as a result of that!

Our processional song was the Pixar song, Lava, and I walked down the aisle to Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwoʻole. Lots of island vibes!

I saw my wedding dress on the Grace Loves Lace Instagram and instantly knew it was the one. I tried on a few other ones, but always came back to the Paloma dress. I knew I wanted my dress to be a little more casual, something I could feel beautiful in but still run around barefoot in if needed. This dress was perfect for that! My bridesmaids wore Show Me Your MuMU bridesmaid dresses, and they were perfect! We had our groomsmen in black suits.

Brogen was amazing! She knew exactly what I wanted for our wedding photos and blew all my expectations. She is hilarious and made us all feel SO comfortable. I love her and would recommend her to anyone!

Because I live in Portland, OR, I did not have a ton of time to visit venues. One of my cousins in California recommended Leo Carrillo Ranch to me and after seeing only photographs, we took a huge risk and booked it without seeing it in person. Looking back it seems crazy, but I have no regrets! It was perfect.

I truly had an incredible experience with all my vendors, they all felt like friends by the time we had our wedding day.

My wedding planner, Alessandra from Details Darling was amazing. Planning my wedding from out of state was no easy feat, but she was available 24/7, always able to go to meetings on my behalf and was always there for anything I needed. I miss having a reason to text her everyday!

Most definitely our florist as well, Laura, from Bluebell Florals! When I first hired her, I had asked for a garden theme. Half way through the planning process, I changed my mind and went in the complete opposite direction with dried florals and no greenery. We worked back and forth to get it all right and she was SO accommodating and helpful through it all and what she put together blew all my expectations.
