They discovered Casa de Vilela, a 1700s estate nestled in Portugal’s Douro Valley that just happened to be available. “It felt like it was meant to be.” The estate not only housed many of their guests, it also provided separate spaces for each part of the celebration. Their advice for other couples planning abroad? “Video chat with every vendor to make sure you’re a good fit, and try to speak with couples who’ve worked with them before.” And most importantly, they added, “Be open to change. Things might go wrong, but what matters most is the people you’re with and the love you’re celebrating.”
