BHLDN is Giving Away 100 Wedding Dresses to Brides Saving Lives!

May 4, 2020 | Junebug Weddings

The COVID-19 pandemic has been an uncertain and difficult time for everyone and couples planning weddings right now have been uniquely affected. When times get tough, Mr. Rogers tells us to “Look for the helpers.” Our friends at BHLDN are on the lookout for the helpers to gift them with something extra special — a free wedding dress! Today BHLDN is launching Brides Save Lives, a giveaway gifting 100 wedding dresses to 100 brides working on the front lines of the pandemic.

BHLDN is Celebrating Brides Saving Lives!

Are you a bride-to-be who works as a first responder, caregiver, healthcare provider, or in any of the countless roles supporting us all through this challenging time? BHLDN is giving away 100 gowns to brides who are making a difference in their communities!

“The BHLDN team is in awe of the passion and commitment of all essential workers, especially our brides,” says Lori Conley, BHLDN General Merchandise Manager. “When they should be enjoying their engagements and planning their special days, they are instead managing the stress of uncertainty and giving of themselves to ensure that our communities are safe. ‘Brides Save Lives’ is a way for us to give back for their bravery and service, spread some BHLDN magic, and celebrate the fact that love does, indeed, conquer all.”

As if this giveaway weren’t sweet enough, Minted will also be rewarding all winners with $250 towards their purchase of wedding stationary!

Right now, there are so many ways to make an impact. Doctors and nurses on the front lines, the dedicated workers at our local stores, those caring for family members, and moms balancing work with little ones at home are all playing critical roles.

The giveaway will run from May 4, 2020 to May 31, 2020. BHLDN will choose four winners throughout the open duration of the giveaway, with the remaining 96 winners being chosen after May 31. Those interested in entering to win a gown can share their #BridesSaveLives story here.

Brides Making a Difference

These two brides already have their BHLDN gowns so they won’t be entered in the giveaway, but we wanted to give them a special shoutout for their hard work in the face of COVID-19!

Meet Sarah, a BHLDN bride-to-be & pediatric nurse from Seattle, WA. Here’s how she’s making a difference right now:

“I’m a nurse on the pediatric cancer care unit at Seattle Children’s Hospital. Because they are receiving chemotherapy, our kiddos have no immune systems and are therefore the most fragile and susceptible to getting COVID-19 and not being able to fight it off. I am SO passionate about my patients and their families and am continuing to support them and other nurses through this scary time. My fiancé Ian is my steady ground and despite wedding plans being changed and wedding showers and bachelorettes getting cancelled we are still getting married July 10th no matter what (whether there’s 150 people present or just our families!). Our love is what is bringing me the most joy during this crazy time in the world! I can’t wait to walk down the aisle in my gorgeous BHLDN dress and say I DO!!”

Meet Brinley, a BHLDN bride-to-be & registered nurse from Lancaster, PA. Here’s how she’s making a difference right now:

“At Lancaster General Hospital I care for our most vulnerable population. My role involves much more than taking vitals & administering medication…I provide comfort to those who are sick, lonely & sometimes hopeless. Developing these relationships is more difficult now, but I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. Unfortunately, my fiancé Braedon & I had to postpone our May 24th wedding. As much as my heart breaks, I know our new date will be so much more special and totally worth the wait.”

Gown Inspiration Right This Way

Not only is BHLDN offering up 100 gowns at any price point, but they are including 17 gowns freshly-launched from their fall collection which will be available for pre-order as part of the giveaway. Vibrant Botanical Wedding at Historic Shady Lane

Where are our flower lovers at? Morgan and Peyton’s day at Historic Shady Lane was an vibrant, botanical wedding dream! We are absolutely obsessed with the romantic, floral wonderland Lancaster Flower Co. and Peachy Keen Event Rentals and Design created for this sweet Pennsylvania wedding day. You’re sure to fall in love with the mix of the bridesmaids’ burgundy dresses with flowers in hues of deep purple, bright coral, and lots of green, of course! This day shows you don’t have to go the “traditional” route when it comes to choosing only a few colors for your decor. You can truly have it all! We can’t wait for you to be inspired by the amazing photographs Hannah Leigh Photography captured of Morgan and Peyton’s most magical day.

The Couple:

Morgan & Peyton

The Wedding:

Historic Shady Lane, Manchester, Pennsylvania

Veronica Lugo was my makeup artist and I cannot sing her praises enough. Not only is she extremely talented at makeup, she has a heart of gold and truly goes above and beyond for her brides. I had her stay for touchups throughout the day and I am so glad she was there! She did so many things to help our day run smoothly, even if they weren’t what a makeup artist typically does. She is probably one of the funniest people I know!

Our parents are friends and Hannah has been taking our family photos since she was in college. I knew as soon as Peyton proposed that I wanted Hannah as our photographer and I am so glad she was available. We are not picture people, and often forget to take pictures during memorable moments, but Hannah made it fun and easy. Everyone absolutely loved her and she captured so many of our favorite moments and amazing moments we didn’t even know happened.

Wedding planning advice from the couple: Stay true to who you are as a couple and try not to get caught up in what is traditional or what people may think. I think it is so important to have a wedding that is meaningful to you and your guests will love that they got to see who you are as a couple. My second piece of advice is to not dwell on things not going perfectly on your wedding day. We poured our hearts into planning, but we didn’t care if everything went wrong the day of, because all that mattered was that we were getting married. Enjoy your wedding day, no matter if it goes perfectly or everything goes wrong.

Cherrywood Strings played our ceremony music, and they played You Are My Sunshine when Harper walked down the aisle. I sing that to her every night, so that was something that was really meaningful to us. When I walked down the aisle they played Marry Me by Train and for the recessional they played Here Comes the Sun by the Beatles.

We really wanted our guests to have a great time and be comfortable at our wedding. The venue is so beautiful and I am a major flower lover, so we wanted those to be the stars of the show. Once we picked our color scheme everything else fell into place. We absolutely love the magic that our wedding planner and florist created for our wedding. The amount of work they did the day of our wedding is a miracle and we are so grateful to them. They really understood our vision and went above and beyond our wildest dreams.

Historic Shady Lane is just absolutely stunning! We knew we wanted an outdoor ceremony and a venue that felt intimate. We also really wanted a venue that had a separate ceremony space if the weather was bad. Shady Lane has a beautiful greenhouse, a few stone patios, and a nice large tent with a fire pit and gazebo. The tent provides the perfect blank slate for any decor and it overlooks beautiful trees and stone homes on the property.

We poured our hearts and souls into our menu, and it was the most important thing to Peyton. We worked hard to have a menu that had something for everyone, but also consisted of our favorite food. We absolutely love food, and we definitely did not want “traditional” wedding food. We really wanted our guests to get an idea of who we are as a couple, through our food.

Pastel Boho Morocco Elopement Inspiration

May 2, 2020 | Junebug Weddings

When Mexico City-based Maria Limon and UK-based Butler & White decided to create an inspirational shoot in the Sahara Desert, they wanted to challenge the typical Morocco elopement and imagined something unique and fun! Under their new collaboration label, “Style Led Creatives,” they put together an amazing team of international creatives, loaded up their jeeps, and headed to Merzouga with The Quirky Photography. We’re obsessed with pastel take on boho style — it gives the day a bit of a whimsical vibe versus traditional, muted bohemian color palettes. If you’re into non-traditional bride style, this day will have you swooning! We are loving this babe’s aqua and pink gown, as well as her outfit change into a playful two-piece dress for running around the desert. Get ready for the most perfect mix of Moroccan texture, desert vibes, and more from this talented team!
