Bohemian Redwoods Wedding at Laughing Canyon

November 28, 2020 | riley

Picture a day full of redwood trees, the sound of a nearby running creek, and romantic cafe lights lighting up the forest. That’s exactly what Jaclynn and Christian experienced during their wedding at Laughing Canyon. The couple wanted their day to represent their love for adventuring in the great outdoors with boho decor, and thanks to expert planner Lux & Jasper, it was just that.

Their special day included a reception entrance in a vintage car, drinks out of ox horn mugs, a cocktail named after their pup, and some good old fashioned barbecue. These are just some of the epic details that they included in their day. While their “I dos” are totally gush-worthy, we love how their photographer, Lynn Lewis Photography, summed it all up!

Lynn Lewis On The Special Day

Jaclynn and Christian said their vows to each other nestled in the Santa Cruz redwoods. Their wedding was absolutely dreamy–with intricate macrame creations, greenery tablescapes, and rust orange details. The bridesmaids danced in their velvet orange dresses, and the groomsmen toasted with their ox horn mugs.

All these special details only added to the beauty of their love that shined through in little ways–like how she gifted him moon cufflinks—knowing he would forget his—,the way he was just awestruck when he saw her coming down the aisle, and the infectious joy they shared in every moment of their wedding day.

The Made With Love Gown, Accessories, And The Bridal Look

I saw my dress on Instagram years before I was even engaged and just fell in love with it. I’m a huge macrame fan and am a sucker for anything boho, making my crocheted lace gown the best choice for me. It was the first dress of about ten I tried on, but I instantly knew it was the one. It was so feminine yet hippie and playful, which is sort of how I see myself. My accessories were simple–all gold jewelry and Jeffrey Campbell snakeskin booties. I wanted to keep my hair down and just have loose beach curls, nothing too tight or manicured.

Boho Meets Rustic Wedding Vibes At Laughing Canyon

Christian and I are always adventuring in the outdoors, whether it be hiking scenic paths or exploring faraway city streets. We wanted our vibe to reflect our interests and travels–boho and hippie meets rustic and shabby chic. It translated beautifully by becoming a little eclectic with hints of macrame, barn wood, copper and rust tones with whites, neutrals, and deep dark greens.

Personalizing The Wedding

Both of us were born on a full moon, so we figured it was only fitting to say our vows during a harvest moon, which is believed to be the time to reap what you have sown. Under the towering ancient redwoods, we promised ourselves to one another with all of our cherished friends and family as witnesses, with our Boston terrier, Dallas, acting as our ring bearer. There were so many unique details–from the specialty cocktail named after Dallas, made with local Swanton Berry Farm strawberry lemonade and prosecco, to Christian’s gold ring cast in sand from our favorite local beach. My garter also had blue buttons from my great grandmother that were sown in, and Christian’s eldest brother was our officiant.

Stylish Modern Galicia Wedding at Pepe Vieira

November 27, 2020 | riley

A colorful rose petal recessional, smoke bombs out of a VW bus, and traditional Spanish musicians, ay Dios Mio! Lore and Paúl’s stylish modern Galicia wedding at Pepe Vieira was the party of the century. The couple combined their cultures to create a day full of laughing and dancing. From the stunning backdrop featuring pampas grass and florals from Picris to a custom neon sign to a sleek reception with black and white decor, the day was the perfect combination of romantic and contemporary.

Lucky for us, Msanz Photography was there to capture every moment– a teary first look, the newlyweds passing out flowers to loved ones, and even the couple trying their hand out at playing some traditional Spanish music themselves.

The Couple:

Lore and Paúl

The Wedding:

Pepe Vieira, Poio, Pontevedra, Galicia, Spain

A Musical & Memorable Ceremony

We are both from different regions of Spain with great cultural attachments, so we wanted to create the right mix of both. We invited traditional musicians from Galicia–who played the pipes–and from Basque Country–who played the txalaparta. The music created an unforgettable moment when we met at the ceremony altar.

Why A Stress-Free Pepe Vieira Wedding

We had a different venue reserved but four months before the wedding, we were informed that our wedding would not be possible. There was a lot of sweat and tears, but we found Pepe Vieira, which was even better than the previous venue. Our advice is do not get stressed even when things go wrong. It’s all about enjoying the process.

Parisian Burgundy Autumn Wedding at Cercle Suédois

November 26, 2020 | Junebug Weddings

Trips to Paris are always a good idea. Any destination wedding as gorgeous as Piper and Tarek’s has us pulling out maps and packing bags to escape to faraway places. With the glowing Eiffel Tower as a backdrop and the dark burgundy color palette, this Parisian autumn wedding at Cercle Suédois will make you fall in love.

Elodie at La Petite Agence brought the couple’s cultures and personalities together in this gorgeous ceremony from start to finish. Thankfully, Anais from Moonrise Photography captured all the details of this ceremony. Keep scrolling to see how magical this Paris wedding truly was.

The Couple:
Piper and Tarek

The Wedding:
Paris, France

Personalized Wedding

The most important thing to us was keeping the wedding very “us.” We didn’t want to follow too many rules, guidelines, or keep anything too traditional. Any opportunity to highlight our personalities—through decor, outfits, music, and details—we took. We even invited everyone to the dance floor after one minute of our first dance. What better way to celebrate our new union by inviting everyone we love to do the first dance with us? Our best friend, Jean, was the officiant and he read the ceremony and translated the vows in both English and Lebanese.

Two Cultures Came Together At Cercle Suédois

Since Tarek and I met in Paris, but are from opposite sides of the world, we really wanted to blend all of the cultures together. We blended French, Lebanese, and American ideas and traditions into the whole day. The most memorable part of the evening was seeing both sides of the family—who had just met—dancing together.  Seeing both sides of the family having a fantastic time with both American and Lebanese music was so much fun. Having guests from many corners of the Earth celebrate with us is something we will never forget.

Wedding Fashion In Paris Is A Must

Since it was almost winter, I wanted to wear a long-sleeved dress and I found the perfect one at Bridal Boutique in Lewisville, Texas. For my overall look, I wanted a slightly smokey makeup look and retro waves. The jewelry was a mix of old and new pieces. My earrings were a gift from Tarek years ago. The other pieces included an antique necklace from my grandmother, my mother’s garter, and my late father’s bow tie—which was wrapped around my bouquet. Tarek had a custom burgundy suit made at Massimo Dutti. He is very fashionable, so a regular black suit wouldn’t cut it. His outfit included a smoking jacket with black satin details and slim-cut pants. The groomsmen wore black suits with matching burgundy bow ties and pocket squares. My bridesmaids wore any full-length dress they liked, and they coordinated colors by pairs—two green, two black, and two burgundy.

Wedding Advice From The Bride

Definitely hire a planner for day-of coordination! Having a team handle the details of setting up and coordination really took the burden off of Tarek, me, and our family and friends. We could then enjoy every moment of the day at Cercle Suédois without worrying about if things were going as planned or not—we just had to make sure we were on time!
