Bright Morrhof Micro Wedding Inspiration

October 7, 2021 | Junebug Weddings

Bright colors, a wedding gown fit for a princess, and desserts almost too pretty to eat—this Morrhof micro wedding inspiration has it all. When coming up with a wedding concept, Weddings by Christina found inspiration from a summer color gradient that went from beige to pink. Each vendor recreated that color gradient throughout the wedding from the floral arrangements by Gärtnerei Reinwald to the invitations by Traufabrik

Weddings by Christina On This Morrhof Micro Wedding Inspiration

Starting with a light beige, continuing with delicate as well as strong yellow shades, and then peach, up to a dusty pink—the concept idea was to have a color gradient reflected in various aspects like decoration, flowers, and the sweetheart table. These summery colors combined with gold and white gave the wedding an elegant touch.

With the fresh colors, soft fabrics, and the atmosphere of one of the top exclusive venues in Germany, the Mediterranean Morrhof, this wedding inspiration exudes joy, elegance, and an effortless vibe.

Picturesque Backyard Airbnb Wedding

October 6, 2021 | riley

Backyards can be small but as a wedding venue they’re far from boring–and Katie and Kayla’s backyard Airbnb wedding is proof of it. With the help of planner Jen Krause Paper Co, the two tied the knot in a truly unique wedding full of mismatched Victorian furniture, views of the rolling Texas hills, and a dance party during the sunset. Although the couple had never visited Austin before, it turned out to be the wedding destination of their dreams.

Photographer and Junebug member Heather Jackson did an incredible job capturing every carefully curated detail–from the tear-filled ceremony to the party favors inspired by the couple’s furry friends to portraits in matching bridal jackets. So if you’re in search of a way to personalize your intimate backyard “I do’s,” this Airbnb wedding is the best place to start getting inspired.

Opting For A Backyard Airbnb Wedding

We wanted the vibe, style, and feel of the wedding to reflect us as a couple. Neither of us is the formal type, so we wanted our day to be more casual and relaxed. We both agreed we wanted an outdoor wedding and love vintage looks for seating which set the laid back vibe we wanted.  All of our seating was later converted to lounge areas around the reception. We also kept our wedding small–only about 40 people. By incorporating our personalization throughout, keeping it intimate, and decorating with Victorian-style furniture, we created our perfect day.

Celebrating With The People Who Matter Most

From the giant kickball game after our rehearsal dinner the night before our wedding to our first look pictures to watching each other walk down the aisle to dancing the night away, it was all memorable. But we have to say the most memorable part of the day was feeling so celebrated and unconditionally loved. I can’t speak for all same-sex couples, but often we feel like we walk on eggshells around those that maybe aren’t as “open-minded” to our love. We actually put a disclaimer on our wedding website stating that if you aren’t 100% in, don’t come. The fact that people traveled all the way to Texas to celebrate and support our love truly made us feel so special.

Incorporating And Creating Their New Business

I am most proud of the DIY items and rentals that I turned into our own business. All of the décor and furniture are items that we made or bought and are now renting out through our rental business, Secondhand Silience (pronounced Sill–E–ence). Silience is the unnoticed excellence that carries on around us every moment of every day. At Secondhand Silience, we strive to notice beauty in all things old and used. While planning and reaching out to wedding rental vendors, we found that not many vendors cater to smaller events. We wanted to create a rental company that didn’t have rental minimums and focused on cutting out the excessive waste in the wedding industry.

Including Their Four-Legged Friends In The Favors

We personalized beer koozies with each of our pet’s faces on them. On the bottom they say,, “(pet’s name) approves this marriage.” We got so many compliments on these, and it added a really fun aspect to our day. We kind of made it into a game and would throw our fists up and sing the Super Smash Brothers theme song “Choose Your Player” to our guests and ask them who they were going to drink with tonight. We’re obsessed with our animals and since they couldn’t be there physically this was a really fun way to incorporate them into our day.

Lavish Marigny Opera House Wedding

October 4, 2021 | Junebug Weddings

Having a wedding on New Year’s Eve definitely calls for watching the ball drop and throwing a lavish party. Chelsea and Ross envisioned a Gatsby-style New Years’ Eve extravaganza to celebrate their nuptials and ring in the new year, so they did just that. Wedding planner Nouvelle Fete Celebrations brought the glam of the roaring 20s to their Marigny Opera House wedding.

With vintage details like the bride’s dress, faux fur shawls, and a champagne tower, it feels like we stepped straight into F. Scott Fitzgerald’s book. To personalize their Gatsby wedding, they had an interfaith marriage ceremony that included a gospel choir singing, a rose-drenched chuppah, and the breaking of the glass. Thankfully, Junebug members Erin & Geoffrey captured every inch of this wedding to share.

The Couple:

Chelsea and Ross

The Wedding:

Marigny Opera House, New Orleans, Louisiana

An Interfaith Marriage Ceremony

We are most proud of the ceremony. Ours was an interfaith marriage honoring the traditions of both the Christian and Jewish faiths. My father was the officiant, which made it very meaningful for us. The ceremony was a wonderful expression of the mutual respect Ross and I have for each others’ faith, too.

A Memorable Marigny Opera House Wedding

Our wedding was filled with so many special moments that will forever be engraved in our hearts. One that is unforgettable was standing under the chuppah, hand in hand with my future husband, while my father pronounced us husband and wife. The Voices of Greatness Gospel Choir performed “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” while friends and family stood in celebration of that special moment.

Entering A Dazzling Celebration

Another memory that’ll always bring a smile to our faces was the “Second Line.” The band, Kinfolk, led the entire wedding party along with over 200 guests through the streets of the Marigny neighborhood. Upon reentering the Opera House, guests were enthralled by the venue transformation and welcomed to a dazzling New Years’ Eve celebration.

Wedding Planning Advice: Get A Planner

A wedding planner is essential! Finding your perfect wedding planner is a crucial decision as you’ll be working very closely together throughout the entire wedding planning period. Meet with your wedding planner early and often. Ours, Dustin Castrinos from Nouvelle Fete Celebrations, not only helped us realize my dreams of a Gatsby New Years’ Eve extravaganza, but also helped us create an appropriate budget for the event. His advice allowed us to secure our bands, caterers, florist, and a host of other vendors who would have certainly been booked had we delayed those decisions.

Old Hollywood Wedding Day Fashion

The wedding day fashion of the wedding party was a reflection of our theme. The men in our wedding party wore Calvin Klein Tuxedos with classic bowties while the bridesmaids were fashionably attired in gold lamé dresses with Old Hollywood hairstyles. The groom wore a custom tuxedo by Bill Walker Clothier. My bridal gown was designed by Lazaro. I continued to mirror the Gatsby era style of the evening in both hair and makeup thanks to the wonderful ladies at Faces of Virtue.

Having a Gatsby Style Wedding

Our wedding theme arose from my personality. I had an early vision of a Gatsby-style New Years’ Eve celebration. Each and every vendor played a crucial role in making this dream come true. The vision was evident in every aspect of our wedding—a true Gatsby vibe!
