A Sunny Bay Area Garden Wedding at the Allied Arts Guild

December 28, 2025 | justine

From the very beginning, Jane and Eric’s priorities were clear. They wanted a wedding that felt fun and colorful, with space to be present and enjoy the day alongside their people. According to their photographer and Junebug vendor Julia Goldberg, that intention showed up in every moment. “Being around them always felt lighthearted and effortless,” she shared, noting how their playful dynamic shaped the entire celebration. Hosting their day at the Allied Arts Guild gave them the perfect setting to bring that vision to life, surrounded by gardens, sunlight, and an atmosphere that felt relaxed rather than formal.

Julia first got to know Jane and Eric during their engagement session in the Mendocino Headlands, where their shared love of travel and the outdoors was immediately apparent. “We ran around in the early morning chatting about travel and nature,” she recalled. That sense of adventure and ease became the foundation for their wedding day.

What We Love About This Allied Arts Guild Wedding

  • A playful, easygoing energy that never felt forced
  • Florals that brought vibrancy and movement to every space
  • A champagne tower that added instant celebration to the reception

Why Garden Venues Work for Relaxed, Outdoor Celebrations

For a couple who loves being outdoors, a garden venue made perfect sense. The Allied Arts Guild offered the greenery and natural beauty they were drawn to, while still feeling intimate enough to keep guests connected throughout the day. Julia noted how the bright, sunny weather played a big role in the overall feel. “The light illuminated the gardens in such a stunning way,” she shared, creating a dreamy backdrop filled with greenery and color.

For couples who want an outdoor wedding without sacrificing intimacy, this setting shows how a garden venue can feel expansive and cozy at the same time.

Letting Florals Lead the Overall Design

The overall aesthetic of the day was bright and cheerful. Florals by Graceful Garland Co. were a defining element, adding bold color throughout the celebration. “The florals were especially beautiful and completely elevated the look of the day,” Julia said, noting how aligned they felt with the couple’s fun and whimsical energy.

Another standout moment came with the champagne tower at the reception. More than a design feature, it became a shared experience that immediately set a festive tone and encouraged guests to lean into the celebration.

Keeping the Ceremony Simple, Emotional, and Intentional

The ceremony at the Allied Arts Guild was centered on connection. Jane and Eric wrote their own vows, and that personalization shaped the emotional tone of the day. “Their personalized vows were so sweet and heartfelt,” Julia shared. It was a moment that brought everyone in close and set a loving, sincere tone that carried through the rest of the celebration.

For couples planning their own ceremony, this is a reminder that meaningful words and a thoughtful setting often matter more than elaborate additions.

Celebrating Heritage Through Wedding Attire

Later in the evening, Jane changed into a traditional red dress, a moment that stood out both visually and emotionally. Julia described it as one of her favorite parts of the day, noting how meaningful the outfit felt and how naturally it fit into the flow of the celebration.

Incorporating cultural attire added depth to the day and marked a shift in energy, moving from garden elegance into full celebration while honoring Jane’s background in a personal way.

Working With Vendors Who Support a Cohesive Vision

A big part of what made the day feel so effortless was how aligned the team was with Jane and Eric’s vision. From Julia’s perspective, everything worked together in a way that felt natural rather than forced. “The florals especially felt so aligned with the fun and whimsical vibe of the day,” she shared, noting how the design elements supported the overall energy instead of competing for attention.

That level of creative alignment made a real difference in how the day unfolded. When couples trust the team they’ve chosen, it creates space to stay present and enjoy the experience as it happens, knowing the details will come together as intended.

Letting Intention Guide the Wedding Day

Jane and Eric approached their wedding with a clear intention: to enjoy the day fully and let joy lead the way. That mindset shaped every decision, from choosing a garden setting to embracing color, playfulness, and meaningful personal touches. “Everything about the day felt very present and joyful,” Julia shared, noting how that focus came through in both the atmosphere and the way the couple moved through each moment. Rather than focusing on formality, they focused on connection.

Their celebration at the Allied Arts Guild is a thoughtful example of how a wedding can feel both beautifully designed and genuinely relaxed. When couples lead with intention, the day has room to feel authentic, memorable, and entirely their own.

A Gilded Age–Inspired Lightner Museum Wedding in America’s Oldest City

December 26, 2025 | justine

Tiffany and Ryan envisioned a wedding that felt like stepping into a romantic film set inside a museum. Gilded Age glamour, Art Nouveau curves, and rich golden tones came together at the historic Lightner Museum in St. Augustine. With soaring arches and the former swimming pool transformed into a reception space, the venue set the tone, while candlelight, live strings, and thoughtful details reflected their love of art and travel.

Their story began years earlier in Tallahassee, where they met while attending Florida State University. After Ryan famously crashed on Tiffany’s couch one night, the two reconnected at a party weeks later, bonding over a ping pong ball drinking game and talking until the early hours. A first date that pivoted from a closed brunch spot to tacos and coffee sealed it. From there, they grew through college, weathered COVID in a cozy bubble, adopted their senior dog Elroy, and built a life shaped by shared routines and travel. Years later, Ryan proposed on the steps of the Met in New York City, setting the stage for a museum wedding that felt unmistakably like them.

What We Love About This Lightner Museum Wedding

  • A Gilded Age and Art Nouveau–inspired design
  • A rainbow bridal party palette inspired by Gustav Klimt’s The Kiss and the museum’s lobby floor
  • Travel postcards turned into a guestbook, plus custom matchbooks as nostalgic favors
  • Live strings, DJ, saxophone, and surprise vocals that turned the night into a full-on show
  • Thrifted and embroidered details, from button-downs to brooches, that highlighted Tiffany’s love of making things by hand
  • A senior dog “mascot” cocktail, Florida-themed Hawaiian shirts, and captain’s hats that brought playful energy to the reception

Designing a Gilded Age–Inspired Museum Wedding

“I was inspired by the venue, the city, and the Art Nouveau era,” Tiffany shared. “It’s so romantic and dreamy. We loved the devotion to craftsmanship and the ethereal, nature-focused approach to architecture and art.” Those influences carried through the invitation suite, signage, and matchbook favors.

Color played a central role. Inspired by the museum’s lobby floor and Klimt’s The Kiss, Tiffany envisioned a “rainbow entourage,” with bridesmaids in wild rose, sage, marigold, and dusty blue, and her youngest sister in lilac. Florals echoed the palette in softer tones, while candlelight warmed the space.

Choosing the Right Venue in Florida’s Summer Heat

From the start, they knew they’d marry in Florida so family and friends could travel easily. With loved ones spread across the state, they focused on cities with strong airports and venues near their parents’ homes in Orlando and St. Augustine.

They also had a clear non-negotiable. “We knew we wanted a summer wedding, so looking for a venue that was mostly indoors was necessary,” Tiffany explained. Touring the Lightner Museum confirmed it. Even after seeing other options, every comparison led back to it.

Once the venue was chosen, planning felt more focused. The museum’s historic nature came with a curated vendor list, simplifying decisions and allowing them to prioritize fit over excess choice.

Setting the Tone With a Relaxed Rehearsal and Welcome Night

The celebration began the day before the wedding. After a morning rehearsal, Tiffany and Ryan hosted a rehearsal dinner at The Raintree. Ryan’s dad opened the evening with a heartfelt speech, welcoming Tiffany’s family and sharing how proud he was of Ryan.

After dinner, they walked back to their hotel for a welcome reception, then headed out with friends to a few local bars. With a later ceremony start time the next day, the relaxed pace helped them unwind and sleep well—an approach Tiffany recommends for avoiding pre-wedding stress.

A First Look on a Bridge of Stones From Around the World

Before the ceremony, Tiffany shared a quiet first look with her dad, allowing space for the emotions of the day. She then met Ryan in the courtyard for their first look as a couple.

They chose a bridge made of stones collected from around the world, a fitting place to exchange private vows given how central travel is to their story. Ryan waited in excited anticipation as Tiffany tapped his shoulder. They shared memories, tears, and laughter as they read their vows. Ryan became overwhelmed with emotion. “At one point, I gave him a hug and held him and that really comforted him,” Tiffany remembered.

Before guests arrived, they slipped away to see the venue completely empty—looking down into the swimming pool space, spotting the checked dance floor and gelato cart, and taking in the final details. It gave them a quiet moment before the celebration began.

A Candlelit Ceremony Filled With Laughter and Tears

The ceremony took place in the former swimming pool space of the Lightner Museum, with candles lining the aisle and live strings setting a romantic tone. When Tiffany walked in, she tried to avoid looking at Ryan or her bridesmaids, worried she’d cry and ruin her makeup. She thought the groomsmen would be safer, until she locked eyes with Ryan’s brother Kyle, who was crying harder than anyone. Somehow, she held it together.

The ceremony balanced tenderness and humor. Emotional moments were met with genuine laughter, and seeing friends and family from every stage of their lives seated together felt surreal. “You see your close relatives sitting next to your childhood friend sitting next to your college friends sitting next to your soon-to-be cousins-in-law,” they shared. “It’s a group of people your eyes can’t picture in the same room outside of a dream.”

Navigating Surprises With Humor and Grace

Even with thoughtful planning, a few moments went off-script. At the start of the ceremony, guests weren’t told to sit, so they remained standing until a bridesmaid quietly alerted the officiant. He addressed it calmly, and everyone laughed as they took their seats. Tiffany and Ryan didn’t notice in the moment.

Later, Tiffany’s mom realized she’d forgotten her reading glasses before the blessing. Tiffany’s dad sprinted across the venue to retrieve them as guests cheered, turning a small hiccup into one of the night’s sweetest memories.

Summer Wedding Fashion That Embraced Color and Comfort

Tiffany approached dress shopping with an open mind. “I tried on every style under the sun,” she said. She ultimately chose an A-line gown with a cat’s-eye neckline, off-the-shoulder sleeves, and a dramatic train from The Bridal Finery in Orlando (Khya). Detachable sleeves allowed her to change up the look and dance freely. She wore her hair in a secure, romantic low bun with soft face-framing pieces and a “me but better” makeup look.

“What screams summer and June to me was unapologetic color,” Tiffany shared. Bridesmaids wore solid dresses in wild rose, sage, marigold, dusty blue, and lilac, each choosing silhouettes that felt comfortable and true to them.

Ryan and the groomsmen wore classic black suits accented with thrifted floral brooches that matched the bridesmaids’ colors. Later, the groomsmen changed into Florida-themed Duvin Hawaiian shirts and captain’s hats, creating one of the night’s most memorable style moments.

Prioritizing Budget Around Food, Drinks, and Fun

When it came to budgeting, Tiffany and Ryan focused on what mattered most. “The things that mattered most to us were the venue, the entertainment, and the food and drinks,” they shared. With such a striking space, they didn’t feel the need to overdecorate.

Instead, they invested in experiences: live strings for the ceremony, a DJ and saxophonist for the party, and a photobooth guests loved. The menu was generous and flavorful, paired with thoughtful signature cocktails. “Though we definitely could have added more decor and things to fill the space, our focus was on our people having a good time with us,” Tiffany said.

Personal Details That Made the Day Feel Like Them

Many of the most meaningful touches were shaped long before the wedding. Tiffany’s love of thrifting and crafting showed up throughout the day. She thrifted men’s button-down shirts in colors matching the bridesmaids’ dresses and learned to embroider their names and tiny hearts onto the sleeves. She also secretly embroidered their wedding date and a love note inside Ryan’s tuxedo jacket.

Their guestbook came from years of travel: postcards they never sent. Guests chose cards tied to places they lived or visited and wrote messages on the back. Custom matchbooks echoed their invitation designs and nodded to their habit of collecting matchbooks from favorite restaurants.

Signature cocktails added another personal layer. Tiffany chose a French 75, Ryan opted for an extra dirty gin martini, and their shared specialty drink—the Paper Plane—featured their senior dog Elroy as the mascot.

Turning the Reception Into an All-Night Celebration

The reception was, in their words, “an absolute rager.” Speeches set the tone, from Rosa’s heartfelt maid-of-honor tribute to Ryan’s brother Kyle’s emotional toast. Tiffany’s dad welcomed everyone, and her mom’s blessing turned into a crowd favorite when she realized she’d forgotten her reading glasses—prompting a sprint across the venue and plenty of cheers.

Dinner was buffet-style, and once plates were cleared, the dance floor stayed full. The DJ and saxophonist mixed hits across generations as a conga line wound through the space. Inflatable instruments made the rounds, followed by a second act of Hawaiian shirts, captain’s hats, and even higher energy.

Later, Ryan’s mom’s best friend took the mic for “Mamma Mia” and “Proud Mary.” During “Love Story” by Taylor Swift, guests formed a circle around Tiffany and Ryan, singing along before erupting into cheers. They closed the night with a private last dance to “Lover,” followed by a sparkler exit down the outdoor staircase. “Running up and down the steps surrounded by friends and family holding sparklers was pure magic,” they shared.

Advice for Couples Planning Their Own Lightner Museum Wedding

Looking back, Tiffany and Ryan see their wedding as an extension of the life they’ve built together—creative, intentional, and joyful.

“Marriage is often described as a compromise,” Tiffany said, “but I think the bigger lesson is understanding what you’re not willing to compromise on. If something truly matters to you, communicate that clearly to your partner.”

On the wedding day, they encourage couples to stay present. “There will always be unexpected twists, but rolling with them will make the day even more memorable. It’s your celebration. Embrace it fully.”

Their final reminder is simple: protect your time together. “Talk, laugh, and dance with each other as much as you can. Those are the memories you’ll cherish most.”

A Classic Cape Cod Wedding That Captures the Heart of Northeast Style

December 23, 2025 | justine

Krista and Jack’s love story began far from home, in Park City, Utah, where a pandemic twist brought them together sooner and closer than either expected. Their connection unfolded easily, grounded in shared humor and a mutual love for the Cape. So when it came time to celebrate their marriage, their vision naturally aligned with the landscape that held so much meaning for them: a classic Cape Cod wedding. With Nauset Beach and the Atlantic as their backdrop, they designed a day that highlighted natural beauty, warm hospitality, and effortless style.

What We Love About This Classic Cape Cod Wedding

  • A true classic Cape Cod wedding setting overlooking Nauset Beach
  • Botanical-inspired design with greenery, topiaries, and soft textures
  • A meaningful private property venue tied to the bride’s family
  • A ceremony officiated by the bride’s brother-in-law
  • Thoughtful flow that kept guests relaxed, fed, and having fun

Choosing Professionals Who Understood Their Vision

The couple interviewed every vendor themselves, choosing people who understood their vision and felt easy to connect with. They wanted a team that brought good energy and paid attention to the details.

Choosing their photographers was the easiest decision. “Junebug vendor CityLux Studios photographed my sister’s wedding two years earlier, and we already trusted them completely.” That confidence carried through on the wedding day, reflected in the natural portraits, candid moments, and the overall feeling of ease in how everything was documented.

Setting the Tone With Thoughtful Pre-Wedding Events

Their classic Cape Cod wedding wasn’t just one day. It was a full weekend celebration. Thursday began with an intimate family rehearsal dinner, followed by cocktails and dessert at Jack’s parents’ home in Chatham. The next night, everyone gathered at Stage Harbor Yacht Club for a welcome party. These gatherings set the tone for a weekend that felt warm, familiar, and rooted in the places they love.

A Wedding Vision That Let the Cape Shine

It’s clear the landscape and area’s essence played a huge role in shaping the day. Guests were seated facing a wide view of the ocean, with gentle coastal grasses surrounding the ceremony spot. The scene didn’t need much embellishment, just soft floral arrangements and clean, white chairs to keep the focus on the setting.

“We wanted a vibe that felt true to us and true to the Cape,” the couple shared. They leaned into botanicals, greenery, and simple textures that blended naturally into the environment.

Because they hosted the wedding on a family friend’s property, they were able to design every part of the layout themselves—from the ceremony facing the ocean to the cocktail hour transitions and the tented reception. “It gave us the chance to design every detail from scratch and make the whole layout feel intentional and personal,” they said.

A Meaningful Ceremony With an Unforgettable Backdrop

One of the most memorable parts of the ceremony was the officiant, Krista’s brother-in-law, whose mix of heartfelt words and gentle humor set a warm tone. His approach made the moment feel genuine and  brought a sense of ease to the entire gathering. The coastal backdrop added to the experience, creating a simple but striking scene for their vows

Elegant Wedding Fashion That Fit the Coastal Setting

Krista’s dress—clean, fitted, and elegant—photographed beautifully in every light, from the soft morning window shots to the breezier coastal portraits. Her bouquet was understated, mostly whites and greens, matching the day’s natural palette. Skincare, hair, and makeup followed the same idea: fresh, minimal, and effortless.

Jack and the groomsmen wore classic black tuxedos, which stood out sharply against the muted tones of the dunes. The black-tie optional dress code elevated the overall look without making it feel stuffy.

A Coastal-Inspired Reception Filled With Movement and Energy

Their planning began with a shared mood board, which helped them narrow down what mattered: comfort, flow, and a warm atmosphere.. The linens became the anchor for the entire look. Those soft, patterned fabrics show up beautifully in the photos, especially in the reception flat lays featuring the menus and woven chargers. Once that decision was made, the rest of the design came together easily.

The tented reception felt airy and inviting, with hanging basket lights, greenery-filled centerpieces, and long wooden tables set with neutral, coastal-inspired textures. It matched the Cape without feeling themed. The tables were set with botanicals and candles that reflected the original vision.

When the dancing began, the entire space transformed. People were laughing, moving, and fully enjoying the moment. It was the exact kind of carefree, joyful energy Krista and Jack had envisioned.

Advice for Couples Planning Their Own Classic Cape Cod Wedding

Krista and Jack want couples to know that it’s normal for planning to feel overwhelming at times. “There are stressful moments, and that’s okay. But seeing everything come to life makes it all worth it.”

Their biggest takeaway:  When the day finally arrives, let go, stay present, and enjoy every second.
