Week-Long Colorful Traditional Thai Wedding

After four years together and a romantic New York boathouse engagement, Sita and Matt planned for a grand celebration in the bride’s home country of Thailand. They wanted their wedding to feel more like a vacation with their loved ones, and that’s exactly what they did. With the help of planners Wedding Bliss Thailand and Easton Events, the pair achieved a week-long traditional Thai wedding full of color, show-stopping florals and decor, and fashion-forward attire.

Overlooking the rice paddies of Chiang Mai, the ceremony began with a gatecrashing parade, followed by a Buddhist monk and a water blessing. For the reception, a canopy of fairy lights drew the eyes to the breathtaking architecture of the Dhara Devi in the background and illuminated the stunning tablescape. Eye-catching arrangements of blooms and greenery were the highlight, and the same can be said about their western poolside celebration at Amanpuri a few days later. The standout features were a flower-filled aisle leading to the altar, towering oversized tropical centerpieces, and a floating floor surrounded by large lotus flowers.

On top of the gorgeous scenery and spectacular floral displays, their multi-day affair also had an array of epic outfit changes. It looked straight out of a magazine—from the bride’s glittering Siwalai and designer dresses to the groom’s crisp jacket with Mandarin collar and classic tuxedos. This wedding is a beautiful combination of traditional and contemporary, and all the details are definitely a must-see. Scroll through these swoon-worthy images captured by Jose Villa. They’re guaranteed to sweep you off your feet!
