Outdoor Las Vegas Micro Wedding

December 15, 2021 | riley

Having a micro wedding with your absolute closest friends and family will mean you have more time to spend with each one of them. It’s also the perfect opportunity to get a little creative with the wedding portraits. That’s how Morgan and Matthew knew that an outdoor Las Vegas micro wedding was right for them. They didn’t want their day to be a blur—they wanted to savor every moment completely focused on each other and to celebrate it with just a select few guests

Las Vegas is an epic wedding spot and a fantasy getaway city. To set the tone for their big day, the couple chose the Neon Museum.  They knew it was a fun and quirky venue and it had the intimate vibe that they wanted for their wedding day.

The Perfect Las Vegas Micro Wedding

We chose the Neon Museum because it had a Vegas feel with the old neon signs and it was still very intimate. We wanted a space that was unique and outdoor. We didn’t want to feel stuffy inside of a little white chapel and didn’t want all the commotion of the Vegas strip. We had the Gallery all to ourselves and it ended up being the perfect location.

The Most Memorable Part Of The Day

The whole day was magical! Standing up in front of all of our loved ones was by far my favorite part. It was the start of our future together and I’ll forever hold those moments dear to my heart. It felt like we were the only ones in the room just looking into each other’s eyes. Walking up to him just gave me the biggest rush of happiness.

Wedding Planning Advice From The Newlyweds

Our best advice is to be true to who you are. We did a mix of traditional and non-traditional things for our wedding. We took some advice from others but we stuck true to what we wanted. Don’t get too caught up with staying on schedule or worrying about what you have to do next. Make sure to enjoy the day and soak up all the little moments with you and your spouse. The most important thing to remember is at the end of the day all that matters is you get to marry your person!

Working With Brittany Loeffelholz Photography

Our photographer Brittany was an absolute dream to work with. She really took the time to listen to our vision. She helped pick out all of our locations, planned for everything, and helped us stay on time. I never had to worry about getting to our next location. I thought I would feel awkward and not know how to pose, but Brittany made us feel so comfortable. It’s like we’ve known her for years. She helped direct us so we looked like pros out there. She’s honestly the best hype girl I’ve ever met. Brittany made us feel our absolute best.

Seriously Glam Tulum Wedding at Casa Malca

December 14, 2021 | riley

After getting inspired by a wedding during one of their travels to Mexico, Cynthia and Fidel fell in love with the idea of a destination wedding. Surrounded by nature and the Mexican Caribbean, an epic rooftop view, contemporary art, and a luxurious aesthetic—the historic Casa Malca was the perfect venue for the couple’s seriously glam Tulum wedding.

A gorgeous champagne wall, signature drinks, stunning arrangements of white and blush florals, and a chic reception lounge—the couple had a very specific vision for their big day. Their wedding planner Mario Olvero and florist Moni Junco turned that vision into a beautiful reality.

Does the thought of an elegant seaside soiree make your heart skip a beat? Then you need to see the luxe-inspired details that you can add to your own glam destination wedding, all beautifully captured by Junebug members Memorybox Photography.

Defining And Communicating Their Wedding Vision

The most important thing for us during the planning process was making sure we captured our vision. With this being a destination wedding, our anxiety was through the roof. We made a clear and concise vision board to share with our planner. Our entire wedding was a surprise and we didn’t see anything until the day of. But we trusted our planner and the wedding team with our vision, and they went above and beyond for us!

A Seriously Glam Tulum Wedding At Casa Malca

We found the best location that embodied our wedding day vision. The venue spoke for itself, the florals were the perfect complement, and it was absolutely breathtaking when it all came together.

Spending Time With Loved Ones

The most memorable part of the wedding was being around our closest family and friends. During the pandemic we both suffered great losses, so to be able to spend this special moment with family was amazing.

Wedding Planning Advice From The Newlyweds

There’s no such thing as too many photos, whether they’re staged or candid, get the shot! Also, take control of your wedding, this is your day. I took the mic and emceed the entire wedding, it will be a memory I will never forget.

Personalized Wedding Details

We read our own vows and had signature drinks to personalize the wedding. We named the drinks Tthe Spicy Sanchez and The Passion Potion. We also provided our guests with a tote bag—inside the bag was a wine stopper and a hangover kit.

Incredible And Artistic Sebastopol Ranch Wedding

December 13, 2021 | riley

The best thing about DIY weddings is that couples can lean on their loved ones. It ends up making the day a true labor of love. Maya and Joshua’s incredible and artistic Sebastopol Ranch wedding is no exception. The love and commitment they have for their special day and for each other is extraordinary!

Josh and his family spent six months building their ceremony gazebo from scratch and laying the path. Maya, being a professional chef, made the cake as well as over four hundred French macarons. In keeping with Japanese tradition, they also made a thousand cranes, made all the floral arrangements, and even used their own furniture to create the cozy lounges.

It wasn’t an easy feat but their hard work certainly paid off—everything came together beautifully! Go ahead, scroll down to see all the amazing details captured by Apollo Fotografie.

Exceptionally Proud Of Their Sebastopol Ranch Wedding

There was never any doubt that our wedding would be held at Maya’s godparents’ Sebastopol Ranch. Besides being an incredibly important escape for the family, it’s infused with the kind of intoxicating magic that’s so important to us. We’re so proud of how hard we worked to make all the most important creative elements for our wedding day so that there was no question it was our own creative and whimsical aesthetic.

The Ultimate DIY Wedding

A lot of elements of the wedding were DIY. Being a professional pastry chef, Maya made her own cake, all the macaroons, and dips for the crudités. Maya also works at an amazing flower shop in Portland called Starflower and she made all the arrangements and folded a thousand paper cranes for the event, in keeping with Japanese tradition.

Support From Friends And Family

Maya’s mother Kimi and family friend Jean strung the cranes from the manzanita tree. Josh and his family built the gazebo where the ceremony took place over the course of six months, traveling back and forth from Portland. His stepfather Ross laid the stone path that was the aisle. Team Starflower was kind enough to join us as guests and also bust out the incredible gazebo flowers as well as Maya’s bouquet.

Grateful To Have All Their Loved Ones Attend The Wedding

We think that the most memorable part of the day was the chance to see all of our favorite people gathered in one of our most favorite places. We were incredibly lucky that we never had to change our wedding date due to COVID, and the timing worked out so that all attendants were fully vaccinated. The fact that we were the first event where all of our loved ones were able to gather in one place for the first time meant the absolute world to us.

Wedding Advice From The Newlyweds

Perhaps bite off a few less projects than we chose to! And if you don’t opt for a wedding planner, definitely have at least a day of coordinator so you can just focus on having fun.

An Inclusive And Personalized Ceremony

We decided to have two officiants for the ceremony, both very important people in our lives: Maya’s godfather Henry and Josh’s best friend, Thomas. We also both had somewhat unusual wedding parties in that they crossed gender lines because we both wanted to have our closest friends and family included in them.

Eco-Friendly And Sustainable Wedding Favors

We gave everyone small plantable seed packets as favors. We wanted to give our guests something that they would actually use and would bring beauty and life to their world.

The Wedding Day Menu

We had an incredible Bacchanalian spread with cheeses, breads, crudités, roast chicken, charcuterie and salads as well as an incredible temaki handrail station and raw bar. Also lots and lots of caviar with potato chips!
