Katie and Lev dreamed of a fairy tale wedding with pure, honest celebration and intention at every turn, so a magical day at Hotel delle Cave was the perfect choice! We’re smitten with the whimsical design the couple created alongside their planning team Style A Wedding. If you swoon over all things floral, just wait until you get a glimpse of the blooming masterpieces by Hanami Atelier, which were inspired by the couple’s love of colors, natural surroundings, and earthy tones. For a fantasy gown celebrating all the blossoms, there would only be one choice for the bridal gown designer—and Rara Avis did not disappoint. Inspired by the femininity and the uniqueness, the gown blossomed into a celebration of my romantic dreams adorned in tiny handmade Japanese clay flowers and beads. My hair was styled into one side waves to have a clear profile and back. The simple style was complete with a gold hairpiece. The fairytale accessories moved beautifully amongst the fallen blossoms of the surrounding displays, crowned by a headpiece of Hermione Harbutt – Sakura Garland. A dreamy cherry blossom garland with blush mother of pearl flowers, golden blooms, and leaf tendrils.

We had been to Italy twice together and loved the country’s culture, food, wine, scenery and romance. It was a pretty quick decision as it was a good midway point for our family and friends who came from all over Europe, Georgia and Russia, and one we thought people would be happy to travel to. We came across Hotel delle Cave online during our hours of searching and after using Instagram to see more pictures we booked it quite quickly. Our ceremony and reception location were held in a former quarry turned into a beautiful garden. We chose it because it was a unique embodiment of a childhood dream: a wedding under an evergreen tree.

Having an autumnal wedding is all about bringing a sense of coziness and richness to the big day. Fall wedding colors posed a particular challenge. Orange was an obvious choice. We went for a jewel tone wedding decor softened by pastel colors that play up the mysterious and sultry vibe of the season. From elegant mauve and dusty pink to bold fuchsia and burgundy, we thought that it was the perfect time to add a splash of color into the wedding style. Jewel tones automatically brought a sense of opulence to the decor, but also the look was elevated even more by including metallic golden details such as golden chairs and tableware for added luxury.

I was absolutely flattered by the way Marco and his team worked on the preparation and decoration of our sweet table and the cake. They worked on designing the Wedding Cake and the setting of the sweet table including other desserts for the purpose of creating something different from the typical wedding cakes. They created a “tailor-made experience”, from the creation and design of the cake silhouette to the choice of every single flavor with very personal and organic essences and extracts to create unique flavors and scents, creams and filling. The presentation and taste of the creations exceeded all our expectations. Our guests have continuously commented on how delicious it was. We are looking forward to working with Marco again!

The Couple:

Zoee + Paul

The Wedding:

Waverly, Georgia

All of our vendors were insanely talented! One that I will mention was Kelli Woodell Fletcher. She designed our wedding “Brand” and invitations and killed it. She made my wildest dreams come true.

I have always wanted to get married at a camp. Just go somewhere, with our people, be together, and get married. And that’s exactly what we did. Honey Creek retreat center was perfect for us. I stepped on the property + immediately cried. It just felt right. It’s nestled beneath Trees filled with Spanish moss + most building are “A-frame” which is my dream. It fit every part of our vision, even down to worshipping together the night before + having sleepovers in camp style bunk beds all week.

I wanted to mimic some of my favorite things about 70s boho fashion. I knew I wouldn’t be able to just walk into any bridal store + find what the dress bc the style I wanted wasn’t typical + also, I’m plus size! When I found Reclamation I knew that was my designer! She catered the dress to my every measurement. And when I received the dress in the mail, it blew my mind with how perfect it was. I loved the flow, I loved the sleeves, I loved the fringe. I loved everything.

We really wanted to be as stress free as possible. We just wanted to be married and be able to live each moment on our wedding day, and enjoy our time with each other + the people we love. Also, our date was also the date that my late parents got married almost 40 years earlier.

Our ceremony was so special. Both of us have brothers who are pastors, so they both officiated our wedding. Some of our closest friends did the music, and did it perfectly. We chose to write our own vows which turned out to be one of my favorite decisions we made. That made it so much more meaningful to us as we looked into each other’s eyes and made covenant. Also, I lost both of my parents within the past couple years + we were able to personalize things to pay tribute to them in small ways. We all cried like big babies!

Our photographer, Cassie, was a dream. From our initial email, we just clicked and knew it was meant to be. She was so laid back + fun, and he talent speaks for itself. She captured every part (even the days leading up to it) perfectly. I couldn’t have asked for anybody better.

We wanted the overall vibe of the day to be chill, laid back, and focused on us + our people. I’ve always said I was born in the wrong era. I’m a 70s child at heart. So that’s where colors, decor, inspiration came from. Basically, everything was just transplanted from our house + local thrift stores.

Colorful Italian Indian Wedding at Il Borro

July 8, 2020 | Junebug Weddings

Freena and Harrison always knew they wanted to get married in Tuscany—it was where they went on their first trip together and got engaged at a castle not far from their wedding venue! Il Borro provided an authentic Tuscan experience, a place where all of the guests could stay together, and a place with multiple locations for various events. The couple hired Distinctive Italy Weddings to help them plan and create the three-day wedding weekend of their dreams. From the magical ceremony and reception decor to Freena and Harrison’s gorgeous ceremony outfits, we’re totally swooning over every detail! We can’t wait for you to fall in love with every photo Studio Rossini captured.

The Couple:

Freena & Harrison

The Wedding:

Il Borro, Tuscany

We knew that no matter what, our wedding weekend would be so special to us. Our focus was actually the experience our guests would have. We were asking people to travel all the way to Italy for us and we wanted to make sure that every event was fun and special for everyone.

Harrison and I wrote our vows together. We chose to do a back-and-forth for our vows where we made promises to each other and each vow was related to the one made by the other. It was personal and also made us feel very supported by each other as we took turns speaking. We were also a bit shy about being too personal with our vows, so this let us speak our true feelings without feeling exposed.

Harrison and I take equal credit in the planning of our wedding – it’s not for all couples, but it felt like our project to start our lives together. Over the course of our three day wedding, we had 8 events – a lot to manage! We made a list of everything we wanted at each event, and the overall ideas we had for each day. We also made sure to write things down whenever we thought about them so we wouldn’t forget and we could discuss whenever we had a chance. As much as we enjoyed wedding planning, we also set aside times that we were not allowed to discuss the wedding – we found these time-outs were very important, especially when we were starting to stress!

The whole weekend was absolutely unforgettable. We have our favorite moments from each day, but the most special moment was on the final night when we decorated our traditional Italian wedding cake together, then cut the cake, toasted each other, and turned around to watch the most amazing firework display we’ve ever seen. Even though we were surrounded by our friends and family, in the moment it very much felt like we were the only two people in the world – it was magical.
