This Waterloo, Illinois Farm Wedding is the Definition of Lovely

From tearful moments to the most dreamy donut wall, this Illinois farm wedding is the absolute sweetest. Mary and Andrew said their “I do’s” on a family farm surrounded by their family and friends. Wanting to keep the day relaxed and low key, they chose and planned their wedding as if it was any other Saturday night party with a few exceptions of course – like Mary’s ANGL wedding dress and a flower crown made by Walter Knoll Florist. Photographer Kristen Kaiser effortlessly captured the small, in-between moments and made some serious magic with Mary and Andrew’s bride and groom portraits. Videographer Arndt Photo and Cinema was also there to film the lovely day.

Even though planning can be overwhelming at times, enjoy it! Spending that time with your significant other, family and close friends is precious and it goes by so quickly!

It was important to us to create an atmosphere where our guests would feel relaxed, enjoy good drinks, good food, dance, and have fun!

I found my dress in the window of a shop in Las Vegas during my friend’s bachelorette party. I knew what kind of style I wanted from looking online and on Pinterest and when I saw my dress in the window I knew it was the one. I knew I wanted blue shoes and found the perfect ones at Anthropologie, just a few days before the wedding. The bridesmaids picked their own beige dresses, and the groom gave his groomsmen each a different (but similar) floral print tie to wear.

Our officiant was a close friend of ours. He wrote his own introduction and speech based on our friendship and we wrote our own vows.

The ceremony was the most memorable. It was very personal and unlike any ceremony we have been to. The officiant had the audience laughing and crying, and we exchanged our own vows.

The picture of Andrew and I walking down the isle after the ceremony is my absolute favorite. The look on our faces is pure happiness (Andrew‘s expression is especially priceless).

It was great working with our photographers! Kristen and her husband, Eric, were so relaxed and easy to work with. We had a large wedding party and they managed to take wonderful photos of everyone despite all of the chaos. I wanted a photographer that would capture the important moments of the day without making it look forced or too posed and that is exactly what Kristen and Eric did.

We had a donut “wall” and platters of cookies. The guests could take a cookie or donut (or both) home in a “M+A” box.

We just went with our natural style. Everything was chosen as if we were throwing a party on an average Saturday night…except for a lot more people!

You’d Never Guess This Boho Desert Wedding Inspiration Took Place in Australia

Our love for the desert and bohemian style has no limit, so when you put those together we get stoked! Throw in some pink smoke bombs and then you get some pure magic. This boho desert wedding inspiration planned and photographed by Immerse Photography has us ooh-ing and ahh-ing over just about everything in this styled shoot. From the perfect warm color palette, name places done by Calligraphy by Moya, and all the cactus at Cactus Country, we have a hard time deciding what our favorite part is from this shoot. For a little more insight into the inspiration behind the shoot, here are a few words from Immerse Photography:

After travelling to Las Vegas last August to photograph a wedding, I fell in love with the desert. I returned earlier this year and spent a few days in Joshua Tree and just had this amazing desire to put together a styled shoot back here in Oz with the same feeling and style. After hunting around, I found Cactus Country and set about putting together a group of creatives who I love working with. I used a real couple to get the intimacy and feeling in the shoot that I required. Ine is actually a photographer from Norway who has been assisting me whilst out here studying and they are getting married next year back in Norway. She was more than happy to come onboard. I really wanted a romantic, elegant shoot with real connection. I think we got this.
