We’re Blushing Over This Dusty Coral Lake Como Wedding at Villa Regina Teodolinda

November 8, 2019 | Junebug Weddings

Wow. We are simply smitten over Milena and Riccardo’s elegant Lake Como wedding at Villa Regina Teodolinda! From a boat ride across the lake to a cake cutting surrounded by sparklers, photographer Lenny Pellico documented this day in a way that brings us right into every moment. You’re going to love how planner Benevent helped the couple pull off their vision for a sophisticated and intimate wedding with rich details, especially the florals White Pepper Studio created for the day. If you get excited about XX and XX, this wedding is for you, babe!

The Couple:

Milena & Riccardo

The Wedding:

Villa Regina Teodolinda, Como, Italy

I loved my dress because it was simple but it followed my body’s lines. My hair was gathered to give value to the v-neckline.

The most emotional and exciting part of the day was when I entered the church and also my husband’s speech at the wedding reception.

My favorite photo is one on the boat because our photographer was able to capture our emotions and the best feelings!

Wedding planning advice from the bride: I would recommend anyone to find a professional wedding planner who can easily understand your taste and can transform your ideas into your wedding dream. Mine was just perfect! She recommended our palette colors in line with the villa’s atmosphere and colors. I loved her way of thinking of about planning weddings with a completely different approach. She has an outstanding creative mind, always looking for that magical detail which will make you and your guests go “wow!”

We embroidered pillows with the guest’s initials embroidered on to help them to find their seat. At the end of the event, they took home to put on their sofa.

Festival Chic Destination Wedding in Andalusia, Spain

November 7, 2019 | Junebug Weddings

Mylène and Benjamin wanted a destination wedding in a new place their guests could discover with them, so they chose to have a wedding in Andalusia, Spain — and it was absolutely breathtaking! The couple found their dream wedding planner (who doubled as a rockstar floral designer) in Opi from Open the Door Events. With Opi’s help, they pulled off a festival chic affair complete with custom outfits, elegant stationary designed by Eugenie Godeluck, and a bohemian ceremony space that is something out of a fairy tail! We can’t wait for you to see how photographer Joy Zamora brilliantly captured this inspiring destination wedding in Andalusia!

The Couple:

Mylène & Benjamin

The Wedding:

Private Residence, Andalusia, Spain

I loved the idea of creating something with my own hands for this very special day. I sewed my own robe for my preparation and I also sewed my own veil. I handpicked every single piece of fabric for my wedding dress and my bridesmaid dresses and designed them with a tailor.

We are both French and we were living in Dubai (United Arab Emirates) when we got engaged. As citizens of the world we knew straight away we wanted a destination wedding, in a wonderful place our guests could discover with us. So the cornerstone was deciding on the place & finding the perfect wedding planner who could organize everything for us remotely. We had a Skype call with Opi our wedding planner after she was recommended by a friend and it was love at first sight. Within an hour we were set on the destination: Andalusia, Spain!

The ceremony was out of this world. We were married by my (the bride’s) younger sister. She officiated the whole ceremony and our parents and witnesses gave the most loving speeches. We cried and laughed with our guests through the entire ceremony it was surreal.

Picking a photographer whose style fit us and inspired us was one of the most important points for us! Our photographer was the perfect mix of respecting our intimacy and creating the special moments to get the most amazing pictures and memories.

Wedding planning advice from the couple: Get yourself a wedding planner!!! We enjoyed our wedding so much, without any uncertainties or last minute stress. You can really focus on yourselves and your guests, and this is priceless!

We wanted a very relax, non traditional non conformist wedding. We had a big outdoor party in mind, surrounded by nature. We loved the inspiration we were getting from Festival chic and boho weddings. We discussed it at length with our wedding planner and she designed the entire wedding experience with us, accommodating every fantasy we had, from live roast bbq to adding a last minute wishing tree.

Many congratulations to Mylène and Benjamin! We’re feeling thankful photographer Joy Zamora shared this wedding in Andalusia with Junebug! Loving the festival vibes? You’ve got to see this Oklahoma ranch music festival wedding.

4 Ways Light Can Affect Your Wedding Ceremony Pictures

November 6, 2019 | Junebug Weddings

There’s one thing that can drastically affect your wedding ceremony pictures, and no, it’s not rain! We’re talking light and how it can totally make or break your photos. Of course, an experienced photographer will know how to navigate these tricky situations, but we want you to have the knowledge to avoid them all together. You may be thinking: How do I know what the light will look like on my wedding day? We recommend visiting your venue during the time of your ceremony or asking the venue to send you photos of it during that time and time of year. With a little creativity and help from your vendor team, we’re confident you can find a plan to navigate even the most adverse lighting situations!

PARTIAL SHADOWS

If you’re having an outdoor ceremony, this is the number one way lighting can significantly impact your photos. Partial shade can cause the light to hit one person’s face and the other could be a complete shadow, and we want to make sure we can see both you and your partner’s faces clearly in the photos.  On the other hand — shadows can make for rad, moody photos! If that’s your thing then we say, “rock it!”

DIRECT SUNLIGHT

While direct sunlight is better than partial shadows, it can be really harsh. Not to mention, we don’t want you and your wedding party walking back down the aisle with sunburns! Understand that any type of direct sunlight (partial or full on sun) will also affect the coloring of your images — the sun brings in lots of golden brightness, which can be awesome! Just know what you’re getting into, and your rockstar photographer will surely deliver. Pro tip: To avoid partial shadows and get that direct sunlight look, move your ceremony space into the sun and leave your guests in the shadows. This way, you and your partner will be in the same light!

BACKLIGHTING

Indoor ceremony spaces often have beautiful windows directly behind the altar space. While this looks breathtaking in person, light coming from behind you and your partner during the ceremony will make for shadowed faces and, likely, a blown out background. An easy way to fix this is to flip the ceremony space or diffuse the light with pretty curtains.

ARTIFICIAL LIGHTING

If you are opting for an indoor ceremony, beware of artificial lighting. We realize there are some spaces that might not have any windows, and that’s ok! Just make sure the lighting added isn’t florescent colors or shining right on someone’s face. If there are windows, your photographer may ask the venue to turn off all the lights — don’t be scared! Trust them. Creative tip: Go all-out and embrace dim lighting with candles or string lights. Just make sure your photog is aware so they can prepare accordingly!
