While a rainy forecast might have stressed some brides and grooms, Alexis and Chase didn’t seem to mind the downpour on their Castleton Farms wedding. Instead, the couple laughed, kissed, and danced through their day, sometimes beneath a pair of clear umbrellas, but often just embracing the droplets as they fell. Regardless of the storm, an emotional vow exchange ensured that there wasn’t a dry eye in the audience of Alexis and Chase’s outdoor ceremony. The Image Is Found captured the entire day, from the couple’s first look under the trees to the simply beautiful wedding decor in neutral hues.

The first look was the most incredible part of our day. I will never forget walking towards Chase and all the emotions running through my mind. It was so peaceful and quiet and we were outside in the forest and it was just unforgettable. I loved our embrace after he turned around and there is just nothing like seeing your groom on your wedding day without the pressures of everyone else watching you. We were able to spend an hour together before the ceremony and just soak in what the day meant to us and get the nerves out. Also, we couldn’t forget the downpour during our ceremony right after my dad handed me off to Chase. That was definitely a memorable moment and something we laugh about all the time now.

I really wanted the wedding to be simple, but unique to Chase and I. We both grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee and we both love the outdoors so we really wanted everything to be outside with a beautiful view. I’m obsessed with greenery and eucalyptus so I feel like I used that in every aspect of the wedding.

The day went by so fast! I learned after the wedding that many of the details I spent so much time planning before the big day ended up not even being a big deal. We all had to take cover in a pavilion and everything that was planned outside for the reception was soaked so we couldn’t use it. The best advice that I could give is that at the end of the day all that matters is celebrating the love that you share, the love of Christ, and having all your friends and family together in one place so take in those moments during the wedding day because that is what matters!

This Outdoor Singapore Wedding is Filled with Modern Elegance

This Outdoor Singapore Wedding is Filled with Modern Elegance Ksana-31

Wanting to personalize their outdoor Singapore wedding, Shufen and Adrian turned to DIY. Nearly one hundred geometric shapes in gold and white, handcrafted by Shufen’s bridesmaids, hung around the venue for a modern look. The couple dreamed of a ceremony under the trees, and the bride’s sister designed floral elements in pink and red that popped exquisitely against the greenery. Ting Wang of Ksana beautifully documented the outdoor affair, capturing the dreamy gold light, the emotional ceremony, and every inch of DIY goodness!

I wanted a personalised touch to the wedding that would make it uniquely ours. I wanted guests to leave feeling that they had attended a wedding that was so “Shufen & Adrian” and not just another pretty wedding. To make it so, I knew it had to be an outdoor ceremony, there had to be trees involved, lots of DIY, and songs that reflected us.

Every part was amazing! But the solemnisation ceremony was most magical. It was surreal walking down the aisle lined with the joyful faces of loved ones, through glittering bubbles dancing in the wind and with the sun’s golden rays setting behind me. Funnily, prior to the wedding, the walk down the aisle was actually the part I was dreading the most as I was sure it would be an awkward and uncomfortable affair!

I have camera phobia and feel extremely awkward posing for photos. However, with Ting from Ksana, it was like a friend was taking photos for us. She has an easy friendly nature that makes you feel comfortable from the start. After our first meeting Adrian and I felt like we had just made a new friend! You can tell she really enjoys what she does. During the wedding, it never felt like she was just going through the motions of doing her job, you could see she was constantly being inspired by things around her to create and capture the best of the moment.

To my bridemaids dismay, I was insistent that I wanted hanging gold geometric shapes which could not be purchased. So almost a hundred were made with cardstock paper, spray painted gold and strung with fishing twine.

I incorporated my love for quotes onto hand painted wooden boards scattered around the ceremony area as well as smaller printed cards placed on the dining tables. With so much DIY, we were very blessed to have amazing friends in our bridal party who set up the entire venue in only a couple of hours before! We got by with a lotta help from our friends!

Get Comfy for Your Home Engagement Photos With These 8 Tips

September 8, 2016 | riley

While some people choose an epic destination for their engagement photos, other couples prefer taking their engagement photos at home–and we love it! The in-home trend is making its way through the photography community, and it’s easy to see why when couples are able to really shine in a familiar space. What’s better than cozying up in the place that you feel most comfortable with your significant other? If you’re considering laidback home engagement photos in the comfort of your own space, keep reading for our tips to make the most out of your shoot!

Tips For Home Engagement Photos

1. Get Comfortable

Since most couples don’t happen to be full-time models, jumping in front of the camera can be nerve-wracking. One of the biggest advantages of shooting your engagement photos is that your home is familiar to you. So even if you choose to shoot in multiple locations, starting your session at home can help put you at ease and make the rest of your photos feel more natural.

2. Find the Light

Take advantage of light–we can’t stress this enough. If your bedroom has a great big window, start in there. If it doesn’t, don’t be afraid to set up in an unusual room in the house if it has better light.  Although you’re not shooting outdoors, early in the morning or sunset still may prove to bring the most natural light for your photos. Your photographer will be able to help guide you through this process.

3. Set the Scene

When deciding where in your home the engagement photos should take place, choose an area that is well-decorated, but not distracting. Whether this is your bedroom, your living room, your kitchen, your options are endless. And while this may seem obvious, don’t be afraid to tidy up or rearrange a few things and remove some clutter beforehand–especially if it’s a room that you want to photograph in.

4. Utilize the Space

Once you’ve chosen the perfect backdrop in your home, it’s time to get moving. Changing up positions and playing in your space not only makes for more interesting photos than sitting still, but it can also evoke different emotions. We’ve seen some seriously sensual photos taken in the kitchen during a baking session. You never know what kind of photos you’ll get until you try!

5. Trust Your Photographer

If you feel like baring it all (or at least a lot), it’s extremely important that you trust your photographer. They’re here to capture you authentically and tastefully–even if you’re just rocking your undies. Focus deep on your partner and think about the love that you two share. And remember, this probably isn’t your photographer’s first rodeo. They want you to feel as comfortable as possible.

6. Be Yourself

Your engagement photos are going to be the most genuine when you’re doing what you do best–being you. In your home, you don’t have to impress anyone, so get silly, get comfortable, get sensual, etc. Do what feels most natural to you, no matter what that is.
